This set introduces the minifigures of Jayko, Shadow Knight Vladek, and King Mathias. -Jayko has a medium blue full face visor, a medium blue helmet, a yellow minifigure head with a straight black line of bangs, a plain medium blue torso with light bluish gray hands, medium blue armor with a geometric pattern, medium blue legs with a light bluish gray belt, a medium blue rectagular shield with a tan hawk head on each side, and a white lance. -Vladek has a black helmet with a black full face visor, a yellow minifigure head with black sideburns with white stripes, a small black forehead "v", black upside down "v" eyebrows, and black chin marks, a plain black torso with black arms and hands, black armor with a dark red geometric pattern, and black legs with a red belt. -King Mathias has a chrome gold crown, a yellow minifigure head with a gray bang line, a gray beard and mustache, a light bluish gray torso with royal blue / blue violet arms with black hands and a black printed sideways lion head on a gold background, and dark bluish gray legs with a royal blue / blue violet belt. New and unique parts for this set include: -This is the only set with the reddish brown 1x8 bar with 1x2 curved top end. -The large plastic Jayko and Shadow Knight banners were only found in this set, though variations of these parts were found 8800 Vladek's Siege Engine and in the large buildable characters of the three different versions of Vladek (8774 European without cards and 8786-1 and 8786-2 USA with three cards or six cards) and Jayko (8783-1 and 8783-2 USA with three cards or six cards). -The medium blue 1x6 brick was only found in this set and 4421 Box of Bricks. -The two-sided 2x2 black plastic flags with a black sideways lion head print on a gold background and red scorpion on a black background were only found in three sets, 8779 Grand Tournament, 8781 Castle of Morcia, and 8800 Vladek's Siege Engine, the dark red 2x10 plate was also only found in three sets, 4758 Hogwarts Express, 8779 Grand Tournament, and 8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress, and the medium blue 1x4 left wave flag is also only found in three sets, 8779 Grand Tournament, 8799 Knight's Castle Wall, and 851499 Chess. -The medium blue horse helmet was found in five sets, 5994 Catapult Polybag, 8779 Grand Tournament, 8876 Scorpion Prison Cave, 8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress, and 851499 Chess) and the white 2x4x3 brick was also only found in five sets. -The 3x8x6 castle panel wall with window cutout was found in six sets in light bluish gray (8779 Grand Tournament, 8780 Citadel of Orlan, 8781 Castle of Morcia, 8799 Knight's Castle Wall, 8813 Battle at the Pass, and 8823 Battle at the Pass), three sets in black (7785 Arkham Asylum, 8876 Scorpion Prison Cave, and 8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress), and one set in bright pink (7579 Blossom Fairy). -This set introduced the large pike with four side blades. -Royal blue / blue violet pieces for this set include: 1x2 bricks, 3x1 slopes, 3x2 slopes, 2x2x2 quadruple convex slopes, and 4x2 double inverted slope with 2x2 cutout. 20240507: the History of LEGO Castle day 128. 8777 Vladek Encounter (2004, 45 pieces, 23 different parts) The Vladek Encounter is the first in the Knights' Kingdom II subtheme and is a small catapult built on a black 4x6 plate with a light bluish gray, white, and black catapult mechanism. A black horse with a dark red horse helmet with dark red barding with silver print and a black scorpion is ridden by a knight wearing all black armor with a dark red lined print. There are two brand new minifigures in this set, and they represent an entire story focusing on these characters. -The first minifigure is Danju, with a dark purple full face visor on a dark purple helmet, a yellow minifigure head with light brown sideburns, mustache, goatee, and forehead "v", a plain dark purple torso with dark purple arms and light bluish gray hands, dark purple armor with a yellow geometric pattern, and dark purple legs with a light bluish gray belt. Danju carries a white rectangular shield with two purple howling wolves facing each other and a flat dark gold sword. This version of Danju is in 8777 Vladek Encounter and 8781 Castle of Morcia, as well as 31317 Save the Kingdom board game, while an updated version appears in 8876 Scorpion Prison Cave and 8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress, as well as 218066 Das Spiel (German), 218141 Le Jeu (French), and 218158 Knights Kingdom games. -The second minifigure is Vladek, with a black full face visor on a black helmet, a yellow minifigure head with black sideburns with white stripes, a small black forehead "v", black upside down "v" eyebrows, and black chin marks, a plain black torso with black arms and hands, black armor with a dark red geometric pattern, and black legs with a red belt. The dark red horse helmet is found in five sets, 8777 Vladek Encounter, 8779 Grand Tournament, 8874 Battle Wagon, 851499 Chess, and 852001 Chess. The light bluish gray 1x2 dual-sided slope is only found in this set and 4856 Doc Ock's Hideout. 20240510: the History of LEGO Castle day 131. 8780 Citadel of Orlan (2004, 483 pieces, 158 different parts) Citadel of Orlan is a fairly large light bluish gray tower, pieced together from three different sections. The first section is a bridge with reddish brown stairs up to a black trap bridge controlled by two reddish brown rocks attached with dark bluish gray chains. The second section is a four-story, basically hollow light bluish gray tower with green technic poles to allow a minifigure to use a dark bluish gray bar to ascend the tower, where the Guardian has a small magic fire. The third section is a light bluish gray wall with a green brick built serpent hidden under a variety of traps. This set has four minifigures. -This set introduces Rascus, with a green helmet with a full face shield visor, a green torso with dark bluish gray hands and a yellow geometric print, and plain green legs. Rascus carries a white rectangular shield with a brown and yellow monkey head on a green background and a yellow angular sword. -This set also introduces the Guardian, who is unique to this set. The Guardian has a yellow minifigure head with a light bluish gray forehead "v", sideburns, and a goatee, a brown fabric cape, a reddish brown torso with dark bluish gray arms and reddish brown hands, a white circle amulet, a printed dark bluish gray scale mail print, and reddish brown legs with dark bluish gray belt. The Guardian has the only trans neon green spear out of the entire LEGO Castle theme (the others were found in six other Alpha Team sets). -Santis has a red helmet with a full red face visor, a yellow minifigure head with full, thick, black beard, mustache, and bangs, red geometric print armor, a plain red torso with dark bluish gray hands, red pants with a dark bluish gray belt, a red rectangular shield with a medium brown bears head on each end, and a pearl sand blue sword. -The shadow knight has a black angled cheek protection helmet, a yellow minifigure head with thick black "v" forehead print with space between the beard and sideburns, a black torso with a black scorpion on a dark red background, and black legs with a dark red belt. New and unique parts for this set include: -The green 2x3 axle connector with tooth, the green two pin connector joint, the light bluish gray 4x6 brick with two fixed point connector pins, the light bluish gray 4x1x2.66 technic slopes, the medium blue 6x12 plate, the reddish brown 12x12 modified base brick are all unique to this set. -The green 2L axle with reverser handle axle connector is only found in one other set, 8241 Battle Cars. -The dark bluish gray 7L pole was only found in one other set, 10252 Volkswagon Beetle. -The dark bluish gray 12x12 modified base brick is only found in one other set (4860 Cafe Attack) and the black 12x12 modified base brick is only found in three other sets. -The reddish brown 3x8x7 Large Ugly Rock Panel (LURP) were only found in two other sets 8637 Mission 8 Volcano Base and 8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress, and the reddish brown halberd was also only found in two other sets, 7079 Drawbridge Defense and 8781 Castle of Morcia. -The dark bluish gray 6x6 double train roof was only found in four other sets, 7898 Cargo Train Deluxe, 7905 Tower Crane, 9467 Ghost Train, and 10183 Hobby Trains. The green 2L ridged axle connector was also only found in four other sets, 4557 Freight Loading System, 4762 Rescue from the Merpeople, 8446 Crane Truck, and 8479 Barcode Multi-Set. -The 3x8x6 castle panel wall with window cutout was found in six sets in light bluish gray, three sets in black, and one set in bright pink. -This is the first LEGO castle set with a frog :) -Royal blue / blue violet pieces for this set include: round 1x1 bricks, a 4x1 left wave flag, and 2x1 triple convex slopes. The two minifigures with this set are: -Santis has a red full face visor on a dark tan helmet, a yellow minifigure head with full, thick, black beard, mustache, and bangs, a plain red torso with dark tan hands, red armor with a gold bear head print, and red legs with a dark tan belt. He carries a white triangular shield with a printed gold bear head on a red background and a pearl sand blue angular sword. The two minifigures with this set are upgraded versions of Rascus and Santis. -Santis has a red full face visor on a dark tan helmet, a yellow minifigure head with full, thick, black beard, mustache, and bangs, a plain red torso with dark tan hands, red armor with a gold bear head print, and red legs with a dark tan belt. He carries a white triangular shield with a printed gold bear head on a red background and a pearl sand blue angular sword.
