20240520: the History of LEGO Castle day 141. 8876 Scorpion's Prison Cave (2005, 279 pieces, 115 different parts) Scorpion's Prison Cave is a mostly dark red and black three-story tower with a black scorpion with red legs under a black fence gate. There are five minifigures in this set. -Vladek has a black full face visor on a dark red helmet, a yellow minifigure head with black sideburns with white stripes, a small black forehead "v", black upside down "v" eyebrows, and black chin marks, a plain black torso with black arms and dark red hands, dark red armor with a black and silver scorpion, and black legs with a dark red belt. Vladek now carries a black angular sword and a dark red ovoid shield with a black scorpion print. This version of Vladek appears in 8802 Dark Fortress Landing, 8876 Scorpion Prison Cave, and 8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress. Lord Vladek also shows up in 8823 Mistlands Tower. -The shadow knight has a black angled cheek protection helmet, a yellow minifigure head with thick black "v" forehead print with space between the beard and sideburns, a black torso with dark red arms and black hands, a black scorpion on a dark red background, and black legs with a dark red belt. -The white skeleton continues to make an appearance :) -The new upgraded Danju has a dark purple full face visor on a dark bluish gray helmet, a yellow minifigure head with light brown sideburns, mustache, goatee, and forehead "v", a plain dark purple torso with dark bluish gray hands, dark purple armor with a gold and silver wolf head, and dark purple legs with a dark bluish gray belt. Danju carries a white triangular shield with a gold and silver wolf head and a reddish gold angular sword. This version of Danju appears in 8876 Scorpion Prison Cave and 8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress and the three versions of the Knights Kingdom table top game (218066 Das Spiel in German, 218141 Le Jeu in French, and 218158 Multi-Language). -Jayko has a medium blue full face visor on a dark blue helmet, a yellow minifigure head with a straight black line of bangs, a plain medium blue torso with dark blue hands, medium blue armor with a gold and white hawk, and medium blue legs with a dark blue belt. He carries a white triangular shield with a printed gold and white hawk on a dark blue background and a pearl light gray angular sword. This version of Jayko is found in three sets (8875 King's Siege Engine, 8876 Scorpion Prison Cave, and 8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress), the three versions of the Knights Kingdom table top game (218066 Das Spiel in German, 218141 Le Jeu in French, and 218158 Multi-Language), and 091560 Jayko Puzzle. New and unique parts for this set include: -The reddish brown 2x2x1.33 hollow round brick is unique to this set. -The dark red 4x8 plate, the dark red 1x2x2 curved top window pane, and the pearl light gray two arm technic steering pin were only found in two sets. -The black 1x8x2.66 fence and the 3x8x6 castle wall with window were only found in three sets. -The medium blue horse battle helmet was only found in five sets. Large figure shields with a reddish gold lion on a royal blue / blue violet background with a reddish gold border on a pearl silver shield cover the hollow parts of the tower while dark bluish gray pikes with royal blue / blue violet flags decorate the top. The four minifigures for this set include: -The new upgraded Jayko has a medium blue full face visor on a dark blue helmet, a yellow minifigure head with a straight black line of bangs, a plain medium blue torso with dark blue hands, medium blue armor with a gold and white hawk, and medium blue legs with a dark blue belt. He carries a white triangular shield with a printed gold and white hawk on a dark blue background and a pearl light gray angular sword. 20240518: the History of LEGO Castle day 139. 8874 Battle Wagon (2005, 130 pieces, 60 different parts) Battle Wagon is a mostly black and dark red wagon pulled by a black horse with a dark red battle helmet and a dark red harness on reddish brown 4x4 circle bricks. The wagon itself has one large black 1x5x7.5 rectangular door on each side and the second story has dark gray 1x2x3 slopes holding up a reddish brown 1x8 plate with bucket catapult. The three minifigures for this set include the upgraded Rascus and two shadow knights. -Rascus has a green full face visor on a dark green helmet, a yellow minifigure head with black bangs and a black straight line goatee, a plain green torso with black hands, green armor with a gold monkey, and green legs with a dark green belt. Rascus carries a white triangular shield with a gold monkey on a green background and a flat dark gold angular sword. A small dock extends over a blue 4x6 plate with a reddish brown boat next to the dock. The two minifigures in this set include the upgraded Vladek and a shadow knight. -Vladek has a black full face visor on a dark red helmet, a yellow minifigure head with black sideburns with white stripes, a small black forehead "v", black upside down "v" eyebrows, and black chin marks, a plain black torso with black arms and dark red hands, dark red armor with a black and silver scorpion, and black legs with a dark red belt. Vladek now carries a black angular sword and a dark red ovoid shield with a black scorpion print. 20240509: the History of LEGO Castle day 130. 8779 Grand Tournament (2004, 324 pieces, 105 different parts) The Grand Tournament is comprised of one tall banner stand with a red scorpion on a black background, one tall banner stand with a gold hawk on a medium blue background, one dark red, white, and light gray launching tower, one medium blue, white, and light gray launching tower, a black brick built horse with light bluish gray wheels and a dark red horse helmet, a white brick built horse with light bluish gray wheels and a medium blue horse helmet, a weapons stand with a large halberd, a large pike, a red angular sword, a reddish gold angular sword, and a tall light bluish gray throne and observer stand with rotating dark red and medium blue bricks to signal points. 20240507: the History of LEGO Castle day 128. 8777 Vladek Encounter (2004, 45 pieces, 23 different parts) The Vladek Encounter is the first in the Knights' Kingdom II subtheme and is a small catapult built on a black 4x6 plate with a light bluish gray, white, and black catapult mechanism. A black horse with a dark red horse helmet with dark red barding with silver print and a black scorpion is ridden by a knight wearing all black armor with a dark red lined print. There are two brand new minifigures in this set, and they represent an entire story focusing on these characters. -The first minifigure is Danju, with a dark purple full face visor on a dark purple helmet, a yellow minifigure head with light brown sideburns, mustache, goatee, and forehead "v", a plain dark purple torso with dark purple arms and light bluish gray hands, dark purple armor with a yellow geometric pattern, and dark purple legs with a light bluish gray belt. Danju carries a white rectangular shield with two purple howling wolves facing each other and a flat dark gold sword. The dark red horse helmet is found in five sets, 8777 Vladek Encounter, 8779 Grand Tournament, 8874 Battle Wagon, 851499 Chess, and 852001 Chess. The light bluish gray 1x2 dual-sided slope is only found in this set and 4856 Doc Ock's Hideout.
