first day and intro done

storyline:

Nightwing, fresh out the gate hated this, yanked out of his own world by a judging and nosey god of Pokemon he had no choice but to catch all Pokemon. Adopted by the professor that definitely gave him a complex ("why does everyone keep adopting me") and in a village with once again the most judgemental people he ever did see our hero is on a mission to get back home but to go that he has to fight for his life and complete a Pokedex with his starter, Garth of unova's seas! Who if dies I will cry!!

Also this gem I didn't draw, she's a loving mother.

So now we're ready for the main course next Pokemon to catch!

Any name suggestions are welcome but have to be DC comic themed and stuff

I've been thinking a lot about my relationship to the Pokemon series - I don't consider myself a *fan* of the series, most of the games since X and Y are probably among the games that I have beaten and dislike the most (disliking does not apply to Pokemon Legends Arceus (best game in the series) and USUM, because those 2 are great) but I have *beaten* them and probably intend to beat legends ZA and whatever comes next - I understand a lot about competitive and could possibly do alright if I wanted to get into it more - I have a history of nuzlocking and have completed at least one for every game in the series prior to X and Y, which I don't particularly want to because they are slow and nuzlocking rules break down after gen 6 really, and I probably know more about the series than the average Pokemon fan

perhaps it would be apt to consider the Pokemon series my guilty pleasure, but I honestly don't know if that's entirely the case either - I don't think being a pokeemon fan's something I'd feel guilty about, I just can't consider myself one. idrk :P

Pokemon Legends: Arceus HC nuzlocke rules:

If a Pokemon faints, it is dead. If all team Pokemon faint, the run is over. If the mc faints, they are dead and the run is over.

Only one encounter per subarea may be USED. This encounter may be chosen. Captures may be made but not used regardless, for dex completion and story advancement.

No items in battle; only held items, pokeballs and items outside of battle may be used.

Alphas and legendaries may not be used.

Level caps are as follows:

Kleavor - 18

Lilligant - 30

Arcanine - 36

Electrode - 47

Avalugg - 56

Beyond Avalugg - unlocked levels

oh, since there’s already an official pokemon trainer and silent hill shiba named mira and i don’t want to risk being too cringy/self-aggrandizing being “too blatant” about the self-insert thing (if that makes sense), i went with kao for various pun and symbolism reasons! it’s similar to the vietnamese translation for “fox” and japanese translation for “face”

i’ve been told my foxsona/mascot kind of guy fits zorua well, so i went with that! both normal and hisuian zorua are cute and fit the spooky dark/ghost fox motifs well, and i like vietnamese mythology and animism.

Well, I'm a lab assistant, so sometimes I take care of ex-Nuzlocke Pokemon that we get. I know how to care for them, and for Pokemon in general. I'll make absolutely sure any party members I get are well maintained. Not to make them sound like tools. (ech.)

Besides, I won't be in the Sinnoh region for it. I don't want to travel this one region again. I was thinking maybe somewhere beyond the main 9 we know...

to be transparent, my ideal pokemon game would easily give up the larger roster for a more interactive experience with the pokemon we keep. stuff like having them follow you/be rideable or pokemon amie where you can pet them? that’s as important to me as the battling, honestly. you’re here to build a bond with these little guys!!

I’ve been craving a nuzlocke lately

At some point, I kinda wanna just draw shiny pokemon that I don't like too much color wise (doesn't have to be the ones that are barely noticeable from it's regular version, such as Garchomp and Gengar).

A specific one that made me want to do this was Charcadet and it's evolution line. Kinda bummed that the only thing that changes about their shiny is their eye color + the flame in their eyes. The opportunity was there to have Charcadet and Armarouge's shiny be similar to regular Ceruledge's colors, while Ceruledge shiny could've been Armarouge's regular colors. But nah, just change a small feature of their's colors and that's it.

I can feel my Jamie fixation slipping away, but at least there's something to replace it with this time.

Recently someone got me thinking about a particular shiny hunt I'd started ages ago (possibly over a year) and never finished.

The hunt for a shiny female Cyndaquil.

While I've been lucky in the past and stumbled into shiny female starters and others of a similar gender ratio, this is the first time I've sought out a female. And I have a very specific reason for it.

My first ever Soul Silver file, the game I hold the deepest love and nostalgia for due to several factors.

To start that file, I knew two things; One, my starter would stay a Quilava. Two, I wanted it to be female. So I reset and reset for a female Cyndaquil, finally getting her and naming her Quince.

In that game I ended up with; Quince the Quilava Stella the Furret Pigeon the Pidgeot Mary the Ampharos Cobra the Arbok and Victor the Victreebel.

These guys joined me as I poked every corner of Johto and Kanto, sought out every secret. They comforted me as I moved from one home to another. I had them before I knew about Nuzlockes, before I used natures to build character off of. Likely before Jamie was a thing. This file was so well loved that I completed it's 493-count Pokedex without the use of Action Replay. (Although cheated Pokemon from Diamond and Pearl probably had a heavy hand in that, lol.) They are currently sitting in Home at around level 90 from our time spent together.

And so, when I noticed a very real opportunity, I decided it would be fun to rebuild the team in shiny form.

I got Pigeon, Cobra, and Victor in Let's Go a long time ago now, and soon after that I started the hardest of the group; Cyndaquil. That hunt being in Legends Arceus. I got a few shiny males before my drive drifted away and I went on to other things.

But a few days ago I picked it back up... and the first shiny I got was female.

So I now have my beloved Quince in shiny form!

She's staying a Cyndaquil for now, but one day she will reach her final form as a glorious Quilava~

Currently I have two more to get; Stella the Sentret, and Mary the Mareep. Both of which I'll be Radar hunting in Shining Pearl. ^^
