Sincere question why does the "Legacy of Orïsha" trilogy lack a fandom? Like yeah, I see people praising the books, and I myself enjoy them (have not read #3 yet) , but there is not a huge following, not many fanfic or fan art) when the 1st book came out I was looking forward to seeing a new fandom grow but it never happen. I wonder what is going to happen when the movies come out?

Cover Art | Children of Anguish and Anarchy by Tomi Adeyemi
Featuring gorgeous designed edges, dazzling metallic foil designs on the jacket and case, and an exclusive endpaper map that reveals new unexplored territories, Tomi Adeyemi’s #1 New York Times-bestselling Legacy of Orïsha series comes to an earth-shaking conclusion. New allies rise. The Blood Moon nears. Zélie faces her final enemy. The king who hunts her heart.
When Zélie seized the royal palace that fateful night, she thought her battles had come to an end. The monarchy had finally fallen. The maji had risen again. Zélie never expected to find herself locked in a cage and trapped on a foreign ship. Now warriors with iron skulls traffic her and her people across the seas, far from their homeland. Then everything changes when Zélie meets King Baldyr, her true captor, the ruler of the Skulls, and the man who has ravaged entire civilizations to find her. Baldyr’s quest to harness Zélie’s strength sends Zélie, Amari, and Tzain searching for allies in unknown lands. But as Baldyr closes in, catastrophe charges Orïsha’s shores. It will take everything Zélie has to face her final enemy and save her people before the Skulls annihilate them for good.

New Releases - Week of June 25, 2024
We have four books that we're watching for this week. This week will bring us a romance and a whole lot of fantasy.
Sleep Like Death by Kalynn Bayron Bloomsbury YA
Only the truly desperate – and foolish – seek out the Knight, an ancient monster who twists wishes into curses. Eve knows this first-hand: one of her mothers was cursed by the Knight and trapped in the body of a songbird. With the unique abilities to communicate with animals and conjure weapons from nature, Eve has trained all her life to defeat him.
With more and more villagers harmed by the Knight’s corrupt deals, Eve believes she’s finally ready to face him. But when Queen Regina begins acting strangely – talking to seemingly no one, isolating herself, and lashing out at the slightest provocation – Eve must question if her powers are enough to save her family and her kingdom.
Crashing Into You by Rocky Callen Henry Holt & Co.
In this fiercely moving YA romance novel, Leti Rivera’s love of street racing is put to the test when tragedy strikes her family and threatens to tear her apart from the boy she’s falling for.
Seventeen-year-old Leti Rivera dreams of becoming a famous female street racer. Her brother taught her how to drive so fast that nothing can catch her.
But when Jacob Fleckenstein crashes into her life, Leti starts to think that running isn’t always the answer. Together, inside her car, they both feel like they’re flying, and Jacob’s gentleness and honesty threaten Leti’s vow to keep her heart tight in her fist and her grief locked away.
Yet after tragedy strikes following a race, Leti blames herself and swears an oath, a juramento, to give up driving. But will she be able to keep her promise when racing could be the very thing that saves Jacob . . . and herself? Perfect for fans of Netflix’s Atypical and I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter.
We Shall Be Monsters by Tara Sim Nancy Paulsen Books
After her sister Lasya’s sudden death, Kajal vows to do whatever it takes to bring her back. No cost is too great, even if it means preventing Lasya’s soul from joining the cycle of reincarnation. But as Kajal prepares for the resurrection, her sister’s trapped soul warps into a bhuta—a violent, wraith-like spirit hell-bent on murdering those who wronged it in life. With each kill, the bhuta becomes stronger and fiercer, and Kajal’s chances of resurrecting Lasya with her soul intact grow slimmer.
Blamed for Lasya’s rampage and condemned as a witch, Kajal is locked away with little hope of escape. That is, until two strangers who label themselves rebels arrive and offer to free her. The catch: She must resurrect the kingdom’s fallen crown prince, aiding their coup to overthrow the usurper who sits the throne. Desperate to return to Lasya’s body, Kajal rushes to revive the crown prince . . . only to discover that she’s resurrected another boy entirely.
All her life, Kajal has trusted no one but her sister. But with Lasya dead and rebels ready to turn her over to the usurper’s ruthless soldiers, Kajal is forced to work with the boy she mistakenly revived. Together, they must find the crown prince before the rebels discover her mistake, or the bhuta finally turns its murderous fury on the person truly responsible for Lasya’s death: Kajal.
Children of Anguish and Anarchy (Legacy of Orïsha #3) by Tomi Adeyemi Henry Holt & Co.

I feel like I'm yapping to a void cause idk if any Legacy of Orïsha fans will even see this or anything but like I did see one post where it says that when the first book, Children of Blood and Bone came out, they expected a fandom but it lacks one and ngl I think it's kinds true. When I got into the first and second book I was invested in thr trillogy so much I thought I could just like go wild and make AUs and fanships and people would like be making OCs, OC x Canon self shipping and stuff like that but like I barley see any of it. I see some fanfics and art but like what about the possible animations? And I frogot to add headcanons too. Well it's not stopping me to do it but the problem is that am I just sharing something not many people would get? Is it just me sharing to a wall?
Even though I think of this still I won't just not do it just because no one else is
Also I thought about creating a community for the Legacy of Orïsha fans on Tumblr for that purpose but it's taking like a while to be approved idk if it will be approved unless I pay for the Premuim
But yeah that is my yap session I'll just do it before the thought eats me whole
I just want someone to know who are fans of the trilogy if they also feels this way idk

They killed my mother. They took our magic. They tried to bury us. Now we rise. Zélie Adebola remembers when the soil of Orïsha hummed with magic. Burners ignited flames, Tiders beckoned waves, and Zélie’s Reaper mother summoned forth souls. But everything changed the night magic disappeared. Under the orders of a ruthless king, maji were killed, leaving Zélie without a mother and her people without hope. Now Zélie has one chance to bring back magic and strike against the monarchy. With the help of a rogue princess, Zélie must outwit and outrun the crown prince, who is hell-bent on eradicating magic for good. Danger lurks in Orïsha, where snow leoponaires prowl and vengeful spirits wait in the waters. Yet the greatest danger may be Zélie herself as she struggles to control her powers and her growing feelings for an enemy.

JULY CALENDAR POSTING...
So much to see, so much to do, so little time ! Lucky for you, here in the Valparaíso Region, we keep track of it just for you ! Unless stated otherwise, these activities are optional. Residents do not have to take part in these if they don't wish to ! These can be used for threads throughout the month but new threads can't be started for these activities once the month is up. Please track the valpocalendar tag to stay updated month to month ( ©️ )
BUT FIRST ! A word from VALPOFM... Transmitting...
"June has come to a close and if you felt like it was giving you the cold shoulder, just wait until you see these snowstorms set to come our way in July ! You guys tried to keep warm with bumping a lot of club anthems and rap hits. Some of you were definitely sitting in a chair staring out the window like you're Bella Thorne and to whoever listened to Take A Bite for 72 hours straight... I promise they have other music. As you look forward to all that we have coming up this month, make sure to take a walk down memory lane with DJ Cool with our June 2024 playlist of the valpo region ! "
Casablanca Activities
July 4 : Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean that flowers don’t grow—and just because it’s the coldest month in the Valpo Region doesn’t mean you can’t decorate and beautify your house with some gorgeous bouquets.  Casablanca Blooms and Coffee’s very own bouquet expert, Vanni Vallata ( @9iovanni ) will be leading a bouquet making class from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, featuring some winter favorites: the rhodophialas, salsilla, and the inca lily.
July 7 : The Dog Owner’s Club will be hiking the snowy peaks of the mountains in La Campana from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM.  There’s nothing better than a good hike with some good company, and there’s nothing better for our canine companions than to give them variety in their walks.  If you’re tired of circling the same block, come take your pets to see the beauty of the Valpo Region forest and mountains in their winter glory.
July 13 : Though the winter may slow down life for the landlubbers, things in the water are just picking up!  Winter trout is in season, and the best place to catch some fresh grub is, as always, in the lovely fishing village, Quintay. From 5:00 AM - 7:00 AM, Quintay shops will be selling fishing supplies with a 15% discount, so stock up and hit the horizon!
July 20 : Inherited Escapes Book Club is hosting another book club session from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM.  To celebrate Tomi Adeyemi’s 3rd book in the Legacy of Orïsha Series, this month’s book is Children of Blood and Bone.  Snacks and beverages will be provided, but it is BYOB-friendly.  Come spend a chilly Saturday night inside with some fellow bibliophiles!
Quilpué Activities
July 3 : Secondhand Style’s very own and very fashionable Saffron Barton ( @hntedhouse ) says giving is in and hoarding is out!  Every season can be a season of giving, and from open to close, Secondhand Style will be doing a BOGO: Buy One Give one to charity!  For this cold winter season, warm up your heart by buying something cute for yourself and helping someone in your community!  For every clothing item bought, Secondhand Style will be donating a clothing item.  You can also bring old clothes and donate them to Secondhand Style—they’ll gather it, bag it, and donate it on your behalf.
July 16 : Quilpué Zoo invites you to celebrate World Snake Day!  For today and today only, the reptile exhibit has been decked out—the snake section especially—to give people of all ages a fun and educational time with posters, slideshows, and a photo opportunity with a corn snake!  If that doesn’t strike your interest, perhaps the presentation with a Herpetologist will catch your eye: from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Quilpué Zoo’s resident snake expert will give you the breakdown on a very special guest: Baobao the Boa Constrictor!
July 25 : It’s Christmas in July, which means Glee Club will be caroling Quilpué streets, spreading cheer and good spirits from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.  You do not have to be a member of Glee Club to participate, but you must have attended at least 2 rehearsals.  Please email [email protected] for more information.
Valparaíso Activities
July 8 : Casaplan will be hosting a Fundamentals of Ceramics Course, open to the public.  To ensure adequate one-on-one attention between student and teacher, the class will be 10 students max, first come first serve!  If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to make your own mugs, plates, vases, and other ceramics, but haven’t been sure where to start, then take this as your sign!  Start with the fundamentals—start with Casaplan!
July 11 : El Festival de Cortos de Valparaíso is back at Casaplan!  Valparaíso’s annual short film indie festival has a fantastic line-up this year; the theme is winter world, and the variety of interpretations in the films will astound you—especially that of local cinematographer, Javier Dominguez-Herrera ( @vroyales )! Valpo Region's very own Javi has submitted his film, Bajo Cero, a horror / suspense short about a man staying in a cabin, being stalked and hunted in the winter woods. Over the course of the movie ( which Valpo Reviews has deemed "chillingly good" ), the audience will uncover secrets, confessions, and hints to the twist ending: is he being hunted? Is he being haunted? Is he even innocent? Come find out and support your local cinematographer!
July 12 : Come celebrate the birthday of famed poet Pablo Neruda, the creative genius behind the unforgettable line, te amo como se aman ciertas cosas oscuras, / secretamente, entre la sombra y el alma, with La Sebastiana from 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM.  The museum will be lit up in fairy lights and decorated with artwork of his poetry interpreted and created by The Art Club.  Light finger foods will be served as well as cocktails and mocktails based on his most famous poems, and his poetry books will be on sale.  All proceeds go to upkeep of La Sebastiana.  Lastly, there will be a microphone where guests can share their own poetry or read one of Neruda’s out loud.
July 19 : Famous dance choreographer, Dani Diaz, will be hosting an advanced dance class to Chappell Roan’s song, Red Wine Supernova, at Harmony & Flow.  The class will be from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM.  If you come, you agree to being photographed and videotaped; class dance clips may be shared on Dani Diaz’s Instagram account.
July 20 : Biblioteca Santiago celebrates International Chess Day with a friendly chess competition from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM.  Sign-ups are from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM.  First place winner gets a glass chess set.  May the best chess player win!
July 25 : If you’re not fond of caroling, never fear: ValpoFM has got your back!  From 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM, the radio station will be playing Christmas favorites for Christmas in July!  Not only that, but all the radio hosts will be on air for the entire time, chatting and entertaining both guests and listeners.  For their VIP guests, there will be a mini Christmas in July event at the station from 10:00 PM - 11:59 PM; there will be curated music, food, drinks, party favors, and a white elephant game.
Viña del Mar Activities
July 1 : Start off the first day of the coldest month of the year right—with a rooftop party at Club Divine!  From 9:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Club Divine has invited an old Catch Me If You Can DJ to curate the music in this highly anticipated and highly VIP event.  The theme is Winter Wonderland, and if you’re not dressed your best, don’t expect to make it past the velvet ropes!
July 18 : Castillo Wulff is leaning into their aesthetics and the winter season this month!  Today, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Castillo Wulff invites the public to cook s’mores over a fire pit and share ghost stories with the castle as a backdrop.  The scariest story will get a private tour of the castle with three of their friends, including the parts of the castle that are not shown to the public.  Though you’re trying to scare the socks off others, please make sure the stories are PG-13, as this is a family friendly event.
July 30 : It’s International Friendship Day, and what better way to make friends than to mingle with Unmingled Singles?  Unmingled Singles is hosting a get-together at Ambrosia Hookah from 9:00 PM - 11:00 PM. Get warm, get cozy, and get ready to take some numbers down! July 31 : Just because the water can get as cold as 38.3°F / 3.5°C in the winter doesn’t mean that the Diver’s Club is taking a hiatus.  Members and interested members are invited to do a Cold Water Challenge at Playa Luna from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM!  Get dressed in your best diver’s gear and join your friends into running into the cold, rushing waves for a fun but frigid dare!  Don’t worry though; it’s just a quick in and out of the water!  Afterwards, to warm yourself up, the Diver’s Club offers a healthy helping of calapurca, a rich and hearty stew, just what the doctor ordered.
