THIS!! I’ve always wanted it like this but nobody seems to get it.

I don’t like having to be watched awkwardly as I wash my hands.

I don’t want to see the cracks in the doors that someone could peer into.

If I start having a panic attack I don’t want people around me.

I don’t want to feel dysphoric when I go into the woman’s.

I want to be able to move and fit into bathroom stalls!

I want to know that someone isn’t filming me.

I want to feel like myself and be able to take care of MY needs without worrying, feeling dysphoric and to be able to move freely!

Transphobic biases hurt everyone. No one wins when you’re Transphobic! If you don’t like it because it’s “for trans people” then I’ll have you know it’ll benefit many! Wheelchair users will be able to get in easier because of wider doors! No one has to fear about someone watching them because it’s all private! Students who are being bullied can actually find a space to take a break. I could go on and on.

“What if a disabled person gets stuck or trapped!”

We can just place an emergency button inside that’ll alert a trusted teacher (or something else)

So what? You don’t think they are already doing that now?? It won’t suddenly change anything. Besides we could always have punishments or something, like making them clean the bathroom they used. (Or something else!)

It’s not hard to think up solutions! And if you don’t like one solution create another, not everything has to be done the same way all the time.

I’m really starting to get sick of leftists the closer we get to the election. While I think some of their ideology has merit and I even agree with them on certain things, the incessant need to not compromise on any beliefs and make everything a purity test is starting to get old, fast. They act like this is the first election with an ongoing crisis overseas (it’s not) and that a candidate must completely match their belief system or else they are unworthy of a vote. Like I’m sorry you can’t be a one issue voter on a foreign policy that’s far more complex then the last ~year; especially with such a far right republican candidate/ticket. I’m sorry, but it’s incredibly selfish at this point when the rights of people in this country are actively being threatened. We can’t help others if we don’t help ourselves first.

I do think the good news is people are getting annoyed with them fast and because so many of them are young teenagers and college students, that as they go back to school and they aren’t met with the same understanding as they did at the end of the semester, they’ll change their tune quickly. They became a vocal minority at the end of the spring semester when things looked bleak and no one wanted to vote for Biden. With Kamala now running for President and galvanizing a lot of people, and I think trying to dispel any progress towards another democratic candidate will not go over well with their peers. Not to mention people are just sick of living in unprecedented political times, and I think people are getting just sick of the constant dialogue that their a moral failure by leftists and will just write them off and not give them any credence. And because it’s a largely young group, I do think that as their peers begin to judge them more harshly (especially online l) that they’ll start to fade out. The support is already dwindling and when faced with both in person and online judgement from their peers, they switch positions and never be heard from again. Sure, some will remain and be loud and annoying; but so many will just stop posting political content because they don’t want to seem to “crazy” or weird to their peers/friends.

Me: hey there's a big issue with anti-masculinity in queer and leftist spaces. Trans fems, if they don't constantly perform hyperfemininity and aren't little and skinny and white, are demonised and people call them pedophiles because there's such a dislike of any association with masculinity. Trans mascs are told they're "whiny MRAs" when they talk about the oppression they face. Masculine intersex people are erased or told they should just be more feminine if they don't want people to be scared of them for looking masculine. People act like marginalised men (queer men, trans men, men of colour, etc, intersex men) aren't actually marginalised because they're men. The vocal "all men literally ARE evil" rhetoric isn't actually venting when it's constant and public, it's harming marginalised men and is a contributing factor to teens and young cis (often but not always het) going down the alt-right pipeline, and is directly linked with trans people not transitioning or being too scared to transition because by becoming a man they are becoming "the enemy". There's the idea of "women +" or "women and nonbinary," which positions all nonbinary people as 'basically women' or affiliated with femininity, and in practice ends up pushing away anyone who appears or identifies with masculinity, regardless of their gender identity. Butches are treated as if they're just sex toys, or that they're scary and dangerous because of their masc presentation. This is actually a huge, pervasive issue that is further hurting already marginalised people AND is pushing potential allies away because it's making them feel bad for something they can't control (being men.)
