THIS!! I’ve always wanted it like this but nobody seems to get it.

I don’t like having to be watched awkwardly as I wash my hands.

I don’t want to see the cracks in the doors that someone could peer into.

If I start having a panic attack I don’t want people around me.

I don’t want to feel dysphoric when I go into the woman’s.

I want to be able to move and fit into bathroom stalls!

I want to know that someone isn’t filming me.

I want to feel like myself and be able to take care of MY needs without worrying, feeling dysphoric and to be able to move freely!

Transphobic biases hurt everyone. No one wins when you’re Transphobic! If you don’t like it because it’s “for trans people” then I’ll have you know it’ll benefit many! Wheelchair users will be able to get in easier because of wider doors! No one has to fear about someone watching them because it’s all private! Students who are being bullied can actually find a space to take a break. I could go on and on.

“What if a disabled person gets stuck or trapped!”

We can just place an emergency button inside that’ll alert a trusted teacher (or something else)

So what? You don’t think they are already doing that now?? It won’t suddenly change anything. Besides we could always have punishments or something, like making them clean the bathroom they used. (Or something else!)

It’s not hard to think up solutions! And if you don’t like one solution create another, not everything has to be done the same way all the time.

Okay so idk if it’s just me but I think after so much trauma I went through with people that were 18+ I’m starting to believe I hold a lot of anti-adult like beliefs even unintentionally or intrusively. Like I don’t want to be anti-adult cause I know there are good adults out there but like so many of them are fucking weirdos and I want to know if anyone shares the same issue. Like is there a word for it? Being anti-adult? Or having anti-adult thoughts (unwilling or not) I don’t think it’s problems with authority, as much as I hate authority I’m pretty weak under it and I don’t cause problems. Does anyone else have this problem?? Is it just me?? Maybe it’s some sort of rebellion phase since I’m 16 but idk.

I’m really starting to get sick of leftists the closer we get to the election. While I think some of their ideology has merit and I even agree with them on certain things, the incessant need to not compromise on any beliefs and make everything a purity test is starting to get old, fast. They act like this is the first election with an ongoing crisis overseas (it’s not) and that a candidate must completely match their belief system or else they are unworthy of a vote. Like I’m sorry you can’t be a one issue voter on a foreign policy that’s far more complex then the last ~year; especially with such a far right republican candidate/ticket. I’m sorry, but it’s incredibly selfish at this point when the rights of people in this country are actively being threatened. We can’t help others if we don’t help ourselves first.

I do think the good news is people are getting annoyed with them fast and because so many of them are young teenagers and college students, that as they go back to school and they aren’t met with the same understanding as they did at the end of the semester, they’ll change their tune quickly. They became a vocal minority at the end of the spring semester when things looked bleak and no one wanted to vote for Biden. With Kamala now running for President and galvanizing a lot of people, and I think trying to dispel any progress towards another democratic candidate will not go over well with their peers. Not to mention people are just sick of living in unprecedented political times, and I think people are getting just sick of the constant dialogue that their a moral failure by leftists and will just write them off and not give them any credence. And because it’s a largely young group, I do think that as their peers begin to judge them more harshly (especially online l) that they’ll start to fade out. The support is already dwindling and when faced with both in person and online judgement from their peers, they switch positions and never be heard from again. Sure, some will remain and be loud and annoying; but so many will just stop posting political content because they don’t want to seem to “crazy” or weird to their peers/friends.

also! my first experience with them was through an andrea compton video, cause she is from one of these villages!!! for those who don't know her, andrea compton is one of the most belovedests spanish youtubers, one of the ogs as well and i love her very much. anyways, she lived here until high school, where she went to live with her father in my hometown lol, in suburban madrid. so. pretty big change. i unfortunately cannot find her video, she might have just deleted it at this point - i watched it at least 10 years ago - but i found what her village is if you want to look it up, it's called roblelacasa, and as of 2016 it has 22 inhabitants. i remember she told in the video that she had to go to another village to go to school, and that in said school there were 6 kids in total, of course with different ages all together in the classroom.

Some of y'all may or may not know but I have a boyfriend, well had A boyfriend. I just broke up with him (no bad blood between us, we just aren't the people for eachother and have agreed to stay friends) and I feel a kinda weight off my back. What I find kind of ironic, is I never told him I loved him until I broke up with him. I suppose thats because I was telling him that I really do love him, but just not in the expected way :) I really hope we stay friends next academic year and don't have any tension between us ^^

Yet again I am not taking the bait on why that post about Calvinism and Leftism in America reverses cart and horse.

It is only RECENTLY (the past 16 years at most) that Calvinistic Christians have invaded modern leftism and engaged in elite capture of 20th century leftist ideas that were, for the most part, formed entirely outside of the white-Calvinistic Protestantism.

Also, keep in mind, that it is entirely possible, at least when I was in high school and college, to live inside the US and have formative experiences in which Protestants aren't just a minority, you have to look really hard even just to find them as your classmates.

I realize that this is hard to believe for people who grew up steeped in protestant american culture but, ffs, I am old enough to be the parent of some of the kids on this tumblrsite and I am STILL EDUCATING MYSELF on what calvinism teaches and what protestants in general even believe because it is all very mysterious and foreign to me.

And yes, it is true that early leftism in the US, back in the 1800s, was driven by protestant beliefs, but american leftism during the 1990s and up through the first few years of the 2000s was driven by an exceedingly diverse group of people of many other backgrounds who, at best, associate calvin with a mischievous cartoon child.

Also: talk about elite capture when ... never mind. Not taking the bait.

Anyhow, I have long argued that this new calvinistic left isn't even leftist.
