This is my first time requesting for a Kdrama character. So I want some Lee rang x human reader in the modern time from 1st season. Where reader is a highschool or a uni student. Shes a bit introverted but she can be quite fun too.So how'd they meet and all?
UNDERSTAND - LEE RANG
Ofc! That'd be great! It's like 1 am in the morning right now but I stayed awake hoping someone would request a fic-🤧
Okay so my creative juices are working really good right now! So let's get started!
Thank you for Requesting (´∀`)♡
Genre: Fluff, romance, strangers to friends to lovers trope, fantasy au, humor.
Pairings: Lee Rang x Human!reader (named)
Warnings: Swearing, violence, mentions of death, blood and Rang just being a misunderstood half demon who just wants to be loved.

Crap.
That's what you felt like as a second year uni student trying to survive the harsh summer heat with two assignments due in two days and continuous tests for the next 4 days. On top of that you were two months behind on paying your rent and one last warning away before you're eventually kicked out of your apartment. But what did you expect?
As an orphan who had no financial or emotional support, you had to support yourself but even after working three jobs a day it still barely covered your tuition fees for a year. Life was hard but you didn't have a choice. These days people looked for employees with excellent social skills and unfortunately being an introvert, speaking and conversing with clients was not your forte.
Which brings us to your second job of the day at a skincare boutique.
Noeul's
"Thank you for you're purchase ma'am, please come again." I said politely as my customer left, smile falling to a frown almost immediately.
"No amount of skincare products will fix that prideful ugly hag's face." I muttered under my breath as I took a deep breath in and looked at my reflection in the mirror.
"Gosh my face looks so tired and exhausted...don't tell me I've been tending to customers like this..." I mumbled as I took a break to freshen myself up.
As I fixed my makeup in the wash room I couldn't help but eavesdrop at my colleagues conversation.
"I heard that your boyfriend proposed!"
"Yes, he did! See!" she exclaimed flaunting her engagement ring.
I let out a sigh internally as their voices started fading away and my thoughts took my attention.
Everyone I know have their lives all figured out and here I am a broke uni student who could get evicted by next week.
I sighed as I felt my emotions skyrocket through the roof and finally crack as I felt my tears pour out after keeping everything bottled up inside me for a month. Fortunately there was no one in the wash room at that moment but I was sure that my colleagues were out gosipping about my melt down. But nonetheless I cried my heart out and by the time I came out my shift had already ended so I went towards the changing room to get out of my uncomfortable uniform.
As I made my way towards the changing room I couldn't help but stop and look at the commotion that was happening in the perfume aisle. I came infront to see a man in a red suit holding another man up in the air with his hands wrapped around his neck as the victim suffocated.
"Aish, people can't mind their own business these days can they?" he said as his eyes connected with mine and he scanned me from top to bottom.
"You work here?" he asked me as I nodded and he threw two perfume bottles towards me. Luckily I caught it and cleared my throat.
"Should I pack it for you, sir?" I asked as he nodded.
"Pack them separately while you're at it yeah?" he asked as I nodded and bowed lightly.
After I was done packing the perfumes he payed for it and took the bags but instead of leaving he leaned at the counter and brought his lips to my ears making me flustered as his warm breath fanned my skin.
"Switch the power off and get under the table when I tell you to...alright? Cause it'd be a shame if you die." he whispered, catching me off guard as I nodded.
He then turned towards the entrance door and locked it, turning around with a menacing smirk as he closed the blinds and put the perfumes in a corner.
"On the count of three." he said and looked at me with a smirk as I grazed my fingers over the switch.
"Three" he said and walked towards the sample section.
"Two....one." he said and I switched off the power and quickly got under the table. And just as I did a string of gunshots and screams began, all I could hear other than those noises were the sounds of furniture breaking and bodies being thrown around. Out of fear I covered my ears and screamed as a body suddenly collided to the table next to the one I was taking shelter in.
"There you are, come on." the man from before said and propped me up on my feet almost immediately and pulled me out of the store with the perfume in his hand.
"W-What are you?" I asked after I saw many bodies splayed across the destroyed boutique.
"Your knight in shining armour." he said and turned to look at me with a smirk as I gasped at the sight of his golden eye.
"W-Wait-" he cut me off my pulling me into an alleyway.
"Keep yourself out of trouble, let's meet again. But until then, try not to die." he said and handed me one of the perfume bottle and a bag.
"They have a really strong sense of smell so I suggest you change your clothes and spritz on a lot of this " he said and smirked at me and walked away.
"What just-wait!" I ran out of the alleyway towards the way he walked to only to see an empty street making me gasp as I quickly ran to the nearest public washroom and did as he said.
"Are these his clothes?" I asked myself as I wore the oversized sweater and shorts that were in the bag. After that I spritz a large amount of the perfume on myself and made my way home.
Two days later I found myself at the park eating a watermelon popsicle, watching as the kids played in the water sprinklers. I smiled and chuckled as I watched them intently wishing I could go back to my younger years at the orphanage I grew up in. Even though I wasn't adopted, my life in the orphanage was quite nice...we had a nice headmistress, good food, loving care takers and a comfortable and safe place to live in. I sighed as I finished up my popsicle, grinning when it read two free popsicles.
"Ah, you're alive." I looked up to see the guy from monday causing me to shriek and flinch.
"Y-You!" I exclaimed as he smirked and sat next to me on the bench.
"Oh, you won." he said looking at my popsicle stick.
As we ate our popsicle, I couldn't help but stare at him.
He was definitely handsome, without a doubt and strong...really strong which brought me to the conclusion that he probably was either not a human or an incredibly strong human, my bet was on the first choice as the grandma who would make our meals when I was little told me that spirits and demons of sorts existed among us.
"If you keep staring at me you're popsicle will melt." he said making me turn a dark shade of red as I quickly chewed my popsicle causing me to have extreme brain freeze.
"Ahhh-" I groaned and clutched my head as he looked at me with amused eyes.
"I've met a lot of humans but you must be the most interesting and amusing one yet." he said as I froze and looked at him with wide eyes.
"Humans? Does that mean..." I trailed as he looked at the bed of roses.
"You like flowers?" he asked me and before I could even respond he already had a bouquet of roses in his hand.
"Take these as a gift for helping me out that day." he said as I looked at the roses.
"I don't take flowers from a stranger." I mumbled as he chuckled.
"I like your personality, the name's Lee Rang but just call me Rang." he said as I looked at him and smiled softly.
"I'm Kang Noeul." I said and accepted the flowers as he stood up.
"Nice name, it suits you." he said as he put on his shades and brought his hand forward.
"Friends?" he asked as I nodded and shook his hand and once again in the blink of an eye he propped me up to my feet.
"A fox always repays kindness, so tell me what you want...anything you wish for I'll get it for you." He said as I thought for a while.
"I don't have friends so...can you be my friend ? Like, a real friend not just for the sake of repaying my kindness but my real friend?" I asked as he chuckled and ruffled my hair.
"I'm not one for befriending humans seriously, but you're an exception." he said and walked in front of me and stopped.
"Are you just gonna stand there? Come on, we have places to be." he said as I furrowed my brows.
"Where?" I asked not realising that the next few months would be filled with me regretting my decisions.
"Who's car was that?!" I exclaimed referring to the car we just trashed as we ran away.
"My elder brother's." he said completely chill as I gasped.
"The one who abandoned you?!" I exclaimed as I picked up my speed.
"Why are you running so fast?" he asked as I continued sprinting.
"I don't want to die in the hands of a pure Gumiho...if you, a half gumiho are that strong I can't imagine how strong he'll be." I said as he held my hand and stopped me.
"Who said I'd let him kill you hm?" he said as he started walking us in a slow pace.
I've been friends with Rang who is not only a Gumiho but also my roommate for about 2 and a half months now...and everyday is filled with us getting in bizarre adventures or causing mischief. Being friends with him somehow unlocked a new version of my self that I wasn't aware I had while still being myself.
Having him in my life not only changed my life but also my feelings for him compared to when we had first met. Sure he was bad, he did bad things and had a long standing grudge on his elder brother who he was currently planning on getting revenge from but nonetheless he made me feel safe, protected and loved...something I haven't felt in years.
"You'd be willing to protect me?" I asked, completely surprised as he scoffed.
"We've been living with each other for than two months and that was enough for me to know that you can't live without me." he said with a smug expression, he isn't completely wrong though.
"Yeah, yeah." I said as he suddenly sat down in a bench and left me standing as he made me stand between his legs and wrapped his arms around my waist and burried his face in my waist.
"You won't...abandon me too will you?" he asked through the fabric of my sweater, catching me off guard.
"Why would you think that?" I asked as he held me tighter.
"My intentions aren't good...I only want revenge and bloodshed." he said as I sighed and ran my fingers through his hair.
"Maybe you're not as good as most people but for me it doesn't matter...I won't make fun of you for that...nor will I judge. But I just want you to know that I won't abandon you and I hope that you won't abandon me too." I said as he chuckled.
"Never, you have my word." he said as I took a deep breath.
"Rang?...can I tell you something?" I asked as he smiled and kissed my forehead.
"I love you too idiot...I can assure you that cause a fox always stays loyal to his mate." he said catching me off guard.
"How did you know?" I asked as he pulled me into a real hug.
"You weren't good at hiding your feelings, I saw and felt the love you have for me enough to entrust you with my heart, I love You Kang Noeul." he said and leaned in making me close my eyes as he pressed a soft yet loving kiss to my lips under the orange skies created by the sun's rays as it set.
"I love you too, Rang-ah."
"Never thought that I'd find
That the one in my life would be so near
And now you're here
I got you, you got me
When it's us, babe, you make me feel complete
You're all I need."

la canción.
summary. a familar song and face appear years after the death of your husband.
a/n. in honor of hearing this song irl 💞
warnings. not proofread, my bad attempt at angst, dead rang, fox!reader, mourning!reader.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ever since rang had passed, your life was quieter, and everyone tried their best to be patient and sweet with you.
i mean, of course they did. you were a mess when he died.
you and rang had met each other when you were both young, but nothing truly formed until years later. maybe it’s cause you were both so similar that you avoided a relationship that could’ve begun years earlier than it did.
foxes are with only one lover for their whole life, which meant that if your partner died, you had to wait for them to be reincarnated (or just live alone for the rest of your life).
you watched and didn’t think much of how yeon acted when he lost a-eum, but when it happened to you, the heartache was almost debilitating.
yeon provided some comfort, telling you he’d try his hardest to get his baby brother reincarnated, and cared for you since the beginning.
a few months passed, then turning into years, and the heartache was still evident. it wasn’t easy to overcome the loss. you still hadn’t recovered, but it’s been easier to cherish his memory and your love for him.
even if he was a tough-love type, you loved him, and he loved you back.
going to bars he frequented brought a sort of comfort, so you went every saturday or so.
your drink of choice altered between whiskey, red wine, and the occasional makgeolli; the drinks you would share with or spot rang drinking.
this tradition stuck, dedicating a day of the week to visit his grave and drink away your sorrow. some days were harder than others, but it is what it is.
»»———❥
you talked to rang earlier today, leaving a recently-bloomed azalea flower as a gift.
cutting through a park on your way to the bar, you heard a familiar song softly playing from a distance.
after a moment, you recognized this tune from one of the first picnics you and rang had.
it was the same exact soft tune from a violin that you so clearly remember due to how beautiful and sweet a day it was.
just then, months of stifled heartache came back, a ball forming in your throat as you tried not to cry in public.
“if rang was here, he would’ve said you were pathetic.” you thought to yourself, trying to stop the tears from flowing down your cheeks.
you sat on a bench to calm yourself down, pointing out all the little details of the twilight landscape.
eventually, you felt good enough to walk to the bar, ordering one of the same three drinks that rotate every time.
a few drinks in, someone sat right next to you at the counter.
you turned your head to glance at the stranger, doing a double take as you realized it was rang.
“rang?” you murmured, your voice cracking from the influx of emotions hitting you in that moment.
“hm?” the stranger hummed, raising his eyebrow at you.
“ah, nothing.” you replied, forcing a chuckle to lessen the awkwardness.
he looked at you for a moment, then asked the bartender for whiskey.
you glanced at him every few minutes for the rest of the night, sharing simple conversation, exchanging names, etc.
“how come you’re here so late?” the man asked. he definitely wasn’t rang based on how he was actually interested in having conversation with you.
“for my husband.” you said, looking down for a second before meeting his eyes again. “it’s been years since he passed.” you finished. you knew you shouldn’t be sharing this much, but how couldn’t you talk to the same face that you loved?
“oh… i’m sorry for your loss.”
“it’s alright.” you mumbled as you gave your card to the bartender. “well, i’m gonna get going now.”
he nodded, giving you a small wave.
“take care of yourself, i know a few people who’ve been through a lot to protect someone with your face.”

Kim Beom's acting as Lee Rang is mesmerizing.
First off, he is a fox. I don't know how to explain it, but the way he walks, smiles, looks around, blinks, holds himself, wrinkles his nose is all very foxlike. He is a fox in a human body. (I especially love the way he wrinkles his nose when he smiles. It's so cute)
Second, Rang typically carries himself like a very tough person. But Kim Beom gives him a subtle layer of vulnerability that comes out in moments of distress (Yeon's death scene especially). He becomes just like that little boy that Yeon found in the forest six hundred years ago. He can look so young and afraid and fragile, a child that just wants his older brother. The heartbreaking way he whispers "Hyung" when they reunite the first time, and then on the video at the end, are moments that have lived in my head ever since. Both times the word is spoken so softly with so much love and reverence
Third, he's so cunty. I don't think I need to elaborate on this. The scene where he shifts from awkward nerd to himself???

my fav thing abt Jia/Yeon is that Jia is just flat out insane and Yeon is completely heart eyes over it. “Yeah when my wife met me she threw herself off a balcony and stabbed me with horse tranquilizer. We were married a month later.” No hesitation she has the confidence of a honey badger and the balls to match

Thank you so much for writing my Lee Rang request. I really enjoyed reading it! I'd like to imagine that she slowly becomes a constant in Rang's life and maybe they build some sort of relationship even if it wouldn't be the same as it used to be.
Stay Ft. Lee Rang
A/n: I am back with this fic! Think of it like a continuation (?) of the first forest spirit reader fic. I kinda like this pairing and scenario a lot!
Here it iss
Genre: fantasy, angst, comfort, fluff
Pairings: Lee Rang x Forest Spirit! Noeul (fem oc)
Warnings: none really.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the storm of emotions, after the shattered glass and the raw grief, Lee Rang did something he never thought he would.
He let her stay.
He couldn’t watch her walk away again—not when she had already slipped through his fingers once. Even if she was no longer the girl he once knew, even if she didn’t remember him… she was still her.
So he let her stay.
But there was a small problem.
“A sheep is too big for this house,” Yuri deadpanned, arms crossed as she eyed the animal lounging in Rang’s bed.
So-oh nodded in agreement, tugging at the blanket that had been knocked to the floor. “And she takes up all the space.”
Rang shot them both a glare. “Then we’ll find her a new form.”
The sheep blinked at him.
And somehow, though she couldn’t speak in this form, he felt the warmth of her amusement.
So that was how they found themselves wandering through the market days later, searching for an animal that could serve as her new vessel.
-
A New Form
“You want me to find what?”
The elderly animal merchant squinted at them, rubbing his chin. “You’re looking for something… smaller than a sheep, you said?”
Rang sighed. “Yes. Something that won’t destroy my house every time it moves.”
Yuri smirked. “He says that, but I caught him fluffing her wool the other night.”
Rang shot her a murderous look. “Shut up."
So-oh, completely unbothered, turned to the merchant. “We need something gentle and quiet,” he explained. “Something that can be around people without scaring them.”
The old man hummed thoughtfully. “I might have just the thing.”
A few minutes later, he returned with a small, white-furred fox curled in his arms.
Rang stilled.
It wasn’t her fox form—not the one he remembered from childhood—but it was close enough that his heart clenched painfully in his chest.
The fox yawned, eyes blinking up at them sleepily.
“Would this do?” the merchant asked.
The sheep at Rang’s side pressed her head against his hand.
And in that moment, he heard it again—her voice, soft and familiar in his mind.
“This one… I think I’d like this one.”
Settling In
The moment she took on the fox’s form, everything changed.
She was smaller now, able to move through the house with ease. She could curl up in his bed without taking up half of it. She could sit by the fire, could rest at his feet, could leap into his arms like she used to.
And yet—
She still wasn’t her.
She didn’t remember the way they used to run through the mountains together. She didn’t remember the nights she would rest her head in his lap, or the times she would shift into her human form just to tease him.
She didn’t remember promising to always stay with him.
But still…
She became a constant in his life once again.
She followed him.
But mostly, she followed So-oh.
Rang noticed it quickly—the way she would slip out of the house when So-oh left, padding quietly behind him, always just out of sight. She never got too close, never interfered. But she was there, watching, protecting.
Like she said she does.
Like she had always done.
She had become a quiet shadow in their lives. So-oh didn’t seem to mind, and Yuri found it amusing.
“She likes you more than Rang,” she teased one evening, nudging So-oh’s side.
So-oh just smiled, glancing down at the fox curled up near the fire. “I think… she just likes watching over people.”
Rang scoffed but said nothing.
Because deep down, he knew it was true.
She had always been this way—gentle, kind, quietly devoted. Even when they were children, even before the fire, she had always been watching, always keeping them safe.
Even now, after losing her memories, after forgetting him—
She was still her.
And that thought alone was enough to both warm his heart and break it all over again.
The house was quiet.
Rang lay on his bed, eyes half-lidded, exhaustion weighing heavy on his body.
Then—
Creak.
The door eased open, revealing a small white fox peeking through the gap.
Her ears twitched, hesitating.
Rang sighed, tilting his head to the side. “Are you planning to stand there all night?”
She blinked.
Then, with light steps, she padded inside, climbing onto the bed.
She hesitated at the edge, unsure.
Rang exhaled softly. “Come here.”
That was all it took.
She moved closer, settling at his side, her warmth pressing against him.
And just like that, memories flooded in—memories from centuries ago, before fire, before loss, before everything was torn apart.
Rang’s hand rested lightly atop her head, fingers sinking into the softness of her fur.
She felt smaller like this—fragile, almost.
His chest tightened.
She should’ve been safe. She should’ve had a life untouched by pain, by fire, by loss.
But fate had never been kind to them.
He exhaled, closing his eyes—
And suddenly, the world shifted.
Darkness.
The air was still, heavy with something unspoken.
She sat perched on the persimmon tree, bathed in soft light, her robes flowing like mist.
“I feel my stay here has become too long.”
The words left her lips in a quiet murmur, almost like an afterthought.
But to Rang, they were a death sentence.
His body tensed, breath catching in his throat.
“No.”
The word came out harsher than intended, raw with emotion.
Her golden eyes flickered down to him, unreadable.
“You’re not leaving,” he said, voice tight. “I won’t let you.”
A soft breeze passed between them, rustling the leaves.
She tilted her head slightly, confusion flickering across her face. “Leaving?”
“You said your stay has been too long,” he snapped. “What else could that mean?”
She blinked.
There was no sadness in her expression, no sign of departure. Just quiet contemplation.
“I only meant…” She trailed off, gaze drifting toward the endless void around them. “I have been in this form for a long time. Perhaps it is time for another.”
Rang’s pulse pounded.
A different form.
Another body.
A different life—one where she still wouldn’t remember him.
He took a step forward, fists clenched. “You don’t have to change.”
She watched him, the way his jaw tightened, the way his hands trembled ever so slightly.
“…Are you afraid of losing me again?”
His breath hitched.
She asked it so simply. So innocently.
Like she had no idea she had already been lost to him for centuries.
Rang’s hands curled at his sides.
“I already lost you once,” he said, voice barely above a whisper. “Is it so wrong to want you to stay?”
She gazed at him, silent.
Then, slowly, she smiled.
Soft. Familiar.
The kind of smile he had once sworn to protect.
“I am still here,” she said simply.
Rang felt something in his chest tighten—something unbearable, something fragile.
Rang took a slow step forward.
His breath was unsteady, his fingers twitching at his sides.
She stood before him now, no longer perched on the persimmon tree, but standing in the dark void as if she had always been there.
She looked the same—beautiful, untouched by time, her traditional robes flowing softly around her. But there was something distant in her golden eyes, something unreadable.
His hand lifted, hesitating.
His fingers hovered inches from her cheek, trembling.
What if she disappeared the moment he touched her?
What if this was all just a cruel illusion?
But then—
She leaned in.
Slowly, gently, she pressed into his touch.
Warmth.
His breath caught.
The warmth of her skin against his fingertips, soft and real, sent a shiver down his spine.
She didn’t pull away.
Didn’t question why he hesitated.
She simply accepted his touch, her golden eyes searching his face as if trying to understand him.
Rang swallowed hard.
His fingers curled slightly against her cheek, almost afraid to hold on too tightly—as if she might slip away again.
“…You’re real,” he murmured.
A small smile ghosted her lips. “I have always been real.”
His jaw clenched.
Not in the way that mattered.
Not in the way he had needed.
But for now, for this moment, he let himself believe her.
😭😭
This was so fun to write! I like scenarios like this!
