So I made art for my fic 🥺👉🏾👈🏾 and theres the link if you're interested. It's just an au where the apocalypse never happened and Clem was sent to Ericson but with angst cuz I can. I've only posted one chapter but I'll update (eventually). I kinda made it a secret as to why Clem is there but if you want to know why, check under where is says spoilers.
Here's a line up of the trio but idk if I'll draw all the other Ericson kids cuz my hand would die. Clem is so hard to draw. I have so many versions that look like mandarin and tangerine but a Clementine?? Impossible. Also first time drawing Louis and I think he turned out alright and Violet is so simple to draw. Also this is set in 2012 which is why their fits are a little lame.
And yes there's romance in this but I'm still on the fence on with who. I feel like I'm just gonna pick Violet but idk part of me what's to see a Louis route. (lol it's probably gonna be that mean hunched back lesbian)
Spoilers for the fic under
Why she got sent to Ericson in short:
She brutally beat her bully with her crutch and was legally required to go to Ericson or be criminally charged while her guardians pay the girls medical bills. She's also been acting out by smoking weed, sneaking out, and according to Carley "abusing her medication". While in Ericson she has double therapy with her old therapist and an Ericson therapist. She's not allowed strong opioids and has to take anger management. She has her crutches but heavily relies on her prosthetic and hides her disability from the Ericson kids.
Long version below:
Here's the backstory:
Clem's parents died in a home invasion (robbery gone wrong) and she was later adopted by Lee. Lee later met and married Carley and they later adopted Aj. They moved to West Virginia for Carley's job. In this, Luke is Carley's cousin and he babysits for her. When CarLee were out of town, the house caught fire (from what? idk yet). Clem saved Aj but got trapped inside, Luke went back in to save her and did but died in the process.
(Ik the coloring of the scars is wonky but it was something doodled last minute plus I couldn't find references)
Clem saw Luke like a big brother and his death haunts her along with the death of her parents. She's severely depressed, has night terrors and survivors guilt. She, along with Aj, got burned in the fire and is covered with scars from severe 3rd and 4th degree burns and is a leg amputee. Shes actively hiding her scars and leg, and in a way is acting like the fire never happened. Shes given a therapist to help her cope but she is repressing her feelings.

What TWD S1 Video Game Did That Helluva Boss Failed To Do.
By far my favorite character (Who I selfship with by the way!) Lee Everett fom Season One of Telltale Games The Walking Dead was a well written and nuanced character. No one really mentioned this due to probably never playing the game. But here it is.
Lee's Redemption / Cheating Partner
At the start of the game, Lee is hauled off to Prison for killing his wife and a governor, the reason was cheating. But due to the Zombie Apocalypses he was let go.
Taking care of Clementine
Lee found a child and adopted her after her babysitter turned as well as her parents being long gone, Lee taught the girl all he needed and even protected her from harm. Lee took care of a kid that wasn't his!
What sets him apart from Stolass
The fact he was cheated on and killed his wife and cheating partner but was still seeing consequences but managed to redeem himself without SA, Hurt or anyone else? The fact he put a kid before himself even as he died? The kid wasn't even his and HE STOOD UP FOR HER.
If he was written by VivziePop
Defended the reason why he killed his wife.
Denounces FEMALES!
Mistreats his Adoptive Daughter.
Turn him Gay (Very much fuck off, he's a Bisexual Man.)
Whitewash him.
LEE EVERETT BEST FATHER 2025!!!

Sorry one more thought and then I'll shut up for the afternoon.
There's like this character type that's emerged within video games, literature, and TV from Millenials and Gen X. The character is generally an older male who comes from a past where he's usually done something immoral and struggles with guilt, usually maladaptively with substances, until he becomes a mentor to usually a younger female character. He goes from just protecting himself and keeping his knowledge private to wanting to protect her and teaching her how to survive. See:
Joel and Ellie (Last of Us)
Booker and Elizabeth (Bioshock Infinite)
Haymitch and Katniss (Hunger Games)
The Mandelorian and Grogu (not a female character, but trope still stands)
Lee Everett and Clementine (The Walking Dead)
Geralt and Ciri (The Witcher)
Eleven and Hopper (Stranger Things)
This trope evolved from the existing dynamic that centered on a mentor/mentee relationship between two men (Luke and Yoda/Obi-Wan, Sean and Will in Good Will Hunting, etc.). But anyways, I'd love to see a show, a video game, or a book that for once centers on a similar trope but instead the mentor and mentee are both female. Some bitter, survival-minded older woman haunted by her past and with detachment issues navigating an apocalyptic scene until she stumble upons a younger girl full of wonder, humor, and curiosity who she gradually begins to center her purpose around protecting.

I AM ASKING YOU ABOUT YOUR ZOMBIE AUS 🤲🤲🤲🤲 I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THEM !!!!!!!!!!!! i looooove a good zombie au
HOORAYYY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
okok so both my riptide and pd one are heavily inspired by two different zombapoc video games,, being telltale's walking dead video games and the last of us. buuut i've put a lot of original thoughts and ideas into them and i. love them so much ^__^
the riptide one is pretty messy but the PD one is the one im prouder of :D (both AUs have heavy spoilers for both campaigns)
Riptide
-basically, this AU is inspired by the dynamic of Lee and Clementine from the first walking dead game, but it's branched out a lot further than that.
-at the start of the zombie apocalypse, Arlin teamed up w/Drey and Finn under Captain Rose, and they all formed a lil survivor group (rest of the black rose pirate are there too-- minus chip.)
-when the trio's scavenging through a neighborhood, Chip manages to steal from them, and Arlin's the first one to catch him. Chip, being himself, thinks Arlin is insanely cool and basically makes him adopt him.
-essentially the entire AU follows Arlin trying to find Chip's parents, while Rose is moving the group north through the city to reunite with his lover (and external evidence points to Chip's parents potentially being up North too, in one of the big survivor bases).
-all is fine until, yk. zombies attack them. but these are more distorted, creepier zombies, and they work in more of a coordinated spooky hivemind instead of being the typical braindead zombies as is typical of twd/twd-inspired stuff.
-rest of it vaguely follows the plot of the hole in the sea but. zombies.
-essentially, ten or so years later, Chip appears in Featherbrooke, a navy-ran (the navy still exists here don't ask) base that Jay lives in. And then it's like Origins but. zombies.
-Chip convinces Jay to join him on the road while also talking big about how he's out searching for the old Black Rose group, and is also convinced that Finn Tidestrider could create a cure for the zombies.
-gillion fucking Shows Up.
-etcetc. stuff happens.
-basically, the dynamics here are heavily inspired by the TWDG series, but grew and branched out etc. Chip and Arlin are kind of inspired by Clementine and Lee,, Chip and Ollie are kind of like Clementine and AJ,, etc.
-also. Drey is immune. He gets bit the last time that Chip ever sees him which is why Chip thinks that he's dead, but. nope ^__^ this is also why he's kept in prison by the navy, but also kept largely a secret.
-The Ferins in general in this au are all entirely fucked up and have weird connections to immunity/resistance against. becoming zombies.
^^^- Jay got sent out with Chip as a spy because he kept talking about Finn and finding a cure (+ Jayson also has the knowledge of Drey, etc.) and basically, Jayson thinks that finding a cure could help cure Ava, who died to a zombie bite around 5 years ago.
PD
I ACTUALLY HAVE A LONGFIC OF THIS ONE IN THE WORKS. BUT IT'S TAKING ME A SECOND. it's inspired by TLOU but my TLOU knowledge is actually pretty lackluster </3
-basically, the barebones of this AU is that it's TLOU. Mark is like Joel, Dakota is like Ellie, and Ashe is like Sarah.
-Instead of straight up zombies, it's demons.
-Superpowers and superheroes still exist in this AU, but they are definitely pretty different.
-The apocalypse started when Ashe summoned the trickster, killing their mother etc., but wasn't able to push the trickster back. The chaos zone opened which caused the world to fall to ruin.
-People live in safe zones put together by WATCH, and are all heavily discouraged from leaving due to the. yknow. posessions.
-William is "dead" at the modern day of the AU. He and Ashe were friends before the end of the world, but William was killed by Ashe/The Trickster.
-The closer parallel to Riley is Katori/"rooftop girl",, this part of Dakota's backstory is still pretty similar.
-The AU actually starts when Mark is tasked by Overlord to smuggle "cargo" across Prime, said cargo being Dakota.
- The Overlord is doing all that weird human experimentation shit like in canon, but this time is trying to combine human and demon DNA for the purpose of finding a "cure"/ a way for people to resist being posessed.
-Here's my favorite part of this AU. Dakota is immune to being possessed by demons cause he literally just fucking eats them. This is only possible because of fucking Fartbo i hate it here
-Anyways, William suddenly wakes up alive after being dead for 20 years at the start of the AU. He sees a wisp guiding him and follows it.
-Around the same time, Vyncent still got isekai'd. As one does. Cantrip robbed him on his first day in Prime because I think that's funny.
-Tide is a hero in the Rockfall safe zone, who adopts and mentors Vyncent and William when they first show up.
^^ okok i have. more of the AU planned out from here but since i plan on turning it into a fic pretty soon i dont want to talk more about it past this point cause. i have a really cool plot idea that i dont wanna spoil ^__^

MEET YOUR CONTESTANTS!
TWDG spoilers under the cut! Along with a TW for murder and child endangerment!
Name: Clementine
Age: “8-9 (season 1) - 11 (season 2) - 13 (season 3) - 16 (season 4)”
Gender + Pronouns + Sexuality: “female - she/her - bisexual”
Video Game: The Walking Dead - A Telltale Game Series
Backstory: “When Clementine was 8, she was staying home with a babysitter, while her parents traveled to another town. Then the zombie apocalypse happened. The babysitter was turned, and she hid in her treehouse to stay safe. Then Lee, a former teacher convicted for murder, found her while running away from zombies. He ended up taking care of Clem while trying to survive, and promised her they would look for her parents. He would soon become a father figure for her, having to make tough choices to protect her. ===== HUGE SPOILERS FOR SEASONS 1-2 BELOW ===== Clem had her innocence sacrificed in order to survive in the zombie apocalypse (the kind where the zombies are far from the worst thing around). She had to see Lee kill zombies and sometimes other survivors to keep both of them safe. A young boy who was part of their survivor group was bitten and had to be shot by his father (or Lee, depending on player's choices). She was captured by a guy who lost his own family and wanted revenge on Lee while trying to impose himself as a better caregiver for Clem. She eventually found both her parents - already walking corpses. And after Lee was bitten she had to leave him behind to turn into a zombie. Or shoot him herself, if he asks her to (depending on player's choices). Later, at 11, she was traveling with another group of survivors, as they looked for a safe place. She had to gain their trust, prove herself, and stitch a very bad dog bite wound on her arm *on her own* because the others wouldn't believe she wasn't going to turn into a zombie. Disinfectant, needle and everything. And she was attacked by a zombie while doing it. And she still found the energy to yell at the others when they accused her of stealing the medical supplies ("I'm still. not. bitten!"). She had to be the sole emotional support for a guy who lost his entire family, and was subject to frequent bursts of anger. While she was by far the youngest of the group, she was frequently one of the only mature one as the others would dispute authority between themselves. At one point, she can (depending on player's choices) dive into a frozen lake without a second thought to save one of the survivors, resulting in the others pulling her out of the freezing water and getting her blankets and a fire to prevent severe hypothermia. Clem eventually took care of the newborn baby of a member of the group who died shortly after giving birth. Depending on player choices, she can do so with one member of the group, or, disgusted with the lies and petty quarrels of the adults, take care of the baby all on her own. That was a summary of seasons 1 & 2. I could go on with season 3 & 4 (there is SO MUCH) but that's enough text here and her wiki biography would mostly speak for itself.”
• “A smart girl, abandoned by her parents (though not intentionally) in the zombie apocalypse. Lee Everett, the protagonist of the first series, takes the poor child under his wing. Keeping her safe and teaching her what to value and how to survive are a big part of the moral core of the first series; she becomes the protagonist of the later Telltale Walking Dead games. Honestly she rules and is the best part of the games so I really don't want to spoil much about it.”
• "She survived a few days alone in the zombie apocalypse, then was taken care of by the protagonist, Lee. During Season One, she was mostly focused on finding her parents (who were out of town when the apocalypse started) and contributing to the group of survivors she was in.”
• “Parents were out of the house when the zombie apocalypse happened. Rescued by dude, sad and terrible hijinks occur.”
Why should they win the tournament?: “Clem is one of the toughest and most tragic video game character. Ever. After being protected by Lee/the player, she loses her innocence too quickly, but struggles to protect the rest of her humanity. When all the adults lose their minds, she is the one beacon of hope and reason. She can be kind, and tough as nails. At 11 she can work through the pain and stitch her arm on her own. Eventually, she herself become a parental figure, and in turn has to teach the hard lessons she learned (which is even harder than learning them in the first place!). With infinite love to give, and infinite pain to anyone who would hurt her or the ones she protects, she is like a diamond in the rough, forged by immense pressure and never breaking.”
• “she's a survivor and I love her”
• “She's awesome, but in the first game she's especially kind-hearted and you just want to protect her from everything. Clem acts as the protagonist's moral compass throughout the first season, and everything you teach her is reflected throughout the story. In the sequel games you see her become her own person and eventually learn to survive on her own, even raising a kid in the Final Season - her character development is one of my favourites in fiction.”
• “Their ability to think and act under pressure from their zombie ridden experiences would help them survive in a tournament-like setting.”

Round 1 part 1: Telltale’s The Walking Dead (video game series) / Avatar: The Last Airbender (tv show)
Lee Everett & Clementine:
Clementine is a small child Lee finds alone in the zombie apocalypse, and he takes her with him to help her find her parents-- despite him knowing all along from a message on the answering machine that they are dead. As the game progresses, she ends up getting groomed by a strange man who ends up getting on the same radio frequency as her on a walkie talkie her father gave her, who tells her he knows where her parents are. She ends up running away to find him, and ends up getting locked up in a hotel room. In the process of going to find her, Lee gets bitten by a zombie. He goes through hell and high water to get her back, the player even having the option to have him cut his arm off to try and stop the bite from spreading. At the end of the game, he ends up handcuffing himself to a radiator so he can't hurt her when he finally turns. This is the first of four games in the series, the rest following Clementine, but their relationship is so impactful over Clementine's development and the narrative that I think they could win.
Aang & Zuko:
Zuko has the BEST redemption arc ever (duh) and the best part of his friendship with the ga(a)ng after he becomes good is his friendship with Aang lol. Aang is so bubbly and Zuko is so angsty but also so awkward. literally they get stuck in a glue trap together and Zuko's suggestion is that they have an existential crisis together. plus before his redemption, Aang asks Zuko if they can be friends, he's wanted to be pals with him since the beginning of the show! And then they hug in the finale!!!

ask game - top five favourite female characters :3
ok so we collectively decided that i will do top five from dramas and then top five from other forms of media, so this is gonna be a long post 😌
top five favourite female characters from dramas
number one. koh ae ri from the eighth sense
she is for real one of my favourite secondary characters of all time. she is so funny and i absolutely love the way she teases her friends, bullying IS a love language yes. i also love how confident and slightly over-the-top she is, she can really stand up for herself and other people as well, which is an admirable quality. also, i am side-eyeing her and her bestie. 🫵🏳️🌈⁉️ ykwim
number two. ink from bad buddy
we all know what i think about bad buddy but that doesn't mean there aren't any characters in that series who i still cherish, and ink is definitely one of them! i feel like everything in the world has already been said about her and i don't even have to explain myself. we all love her.
number three. hashimoto mio from kieta hatsukoi
she is an icon, she is a legend, etc. etc. she is so so sweet and wonderful but can also hit you across the face so hard that you fly away if you deserve it. i don't even think that's like dramatic effect exaggeration, she will kick your ass if you're acting like a fucking idiot and i love that about her.
number four. choi yu na from semantic error
true bicon of our generation. greatest fashion sense in the world. so very tired of your bullshit (and that's absolutely fair). a great friend. *bows fifty times in respect*
number five. sunny from our dating sim
she doesn't get too much screen time but i love everything about what we see of her. she is very no-nonsense and deadpan, but also very emotionally intelligent and compassionate (she literally helps lee wan figure out why he started drawing and why it's still important to him, like she literally changes his life with one small conversation). what a legend.
top five favourite female characters from other media
number one. brienne of tarth from game of thrones (tv show)
ok yeah yeah horrible tv show. ANYWAY. i am fucking obsessed with brienne. she is SO!!!! KDGJDFJGDFJGKDF. sorry. what am i even supposed to say. she is a warrior both metaphorically and literally. she is the most knight-coded character of all time. no man can compare to her in knightly qualities. she is noble, she is loyal, she is fair. she is fucking iconic.
number two. clementine from the walking dead games (video game series)
i grew up with clem, actually. i was just a couple of years older than her when i first watched a playthrough of twdg. i suppose we have to make some space for the fact that she is a protagonist in 2.5/4 games, meaning that every player kind of decides what kind of a person she is on their own. but i think overall, no matter what choices you make, she always remains a very strong and resilient person. despite everything she's lost, she doesn't lose her humanity and manages to take great care of her found family (and her adopted younger brother, shout out to our murder baby aj <3). i am very proud of her, almost like she is a literal person who grew up in front of my eyes.
number three. lae'zel from baldur's gate 3 (video game)
ok, now this one was hard. not because i don't love lae'zel so much, but because there is an insanely long list of female characters from bg3 that i absolutely adore, and choosing just one was hard. in lae'zel's place, there could have been shadowheart or karlach or jaheira or either isobel or aylin from everyone's favourite divine lesbian duo or nine-fingers or or or. i can go on forever. but i picked lae'zel for this post. so, first thing you should know about her is that she can step on you and you will be thanking her for it if she does. she is just 21 years old, yet she goes through a completely worldview-shattering experience and comes out the other side not just alive, but with her head held high. her quote "what good this heart of stone, for it to be shattered?" absolutely kills me every time. i'm gonna stop here, but i could go on forever actually yes.
number four. josephine montilyet from dragon age inquisition (video game)
very similar situation with the dragon age games and the amount of characters i could choose. morrigan, isabela, and sera in particular were very strong contenders for this space. but i ended up choosing josie for this post. she is a very sweet and romantic character. she used to be a spy (and she actually got into it because she thought it sounded romantic - she's whimsical like that), but then she ended up killing someone she knew and that experience changed her forever. she is now a very successful diplomat, determined to deal with world's problems through any means other than violence. she is very open-minded, understanding, and just an absolutely lovely person overall.
number five. anne elliot from persuasion by jane austen (novel)
choosing a favourite jane austen herione is like choosing a favourite child, but here we are. the photos are from two different adaptations, and i appreciate both of them in different ways, though i don't think we have a 10/10 adaptation of persuasion just yet. anyway, anne is naturally a rather timid and people-pleasing person, which i think a lot of us can relate to, but throughout the book she really finds her own voice and stands her ground, while simultaneously not having to completely change her personality, which i really appreciate. not everyone can be sarcastic or witty or strong-willed and that's ok. she also definitely shines as the undeniably smartest austen herione, as she figures out all the secrets, decidedly does not trust clearly untrustworthy albeit charming gentlemen, and is overall incredibly sensible, which means it's very easy to read her inner dialogue, because you never find yourself sighing at how blind she is at something that's happening. she sees everything. being inside her head is a great time.
#this is very rambly but you know kgjdflkjkfdlg#also can u tell im a gaymer lmao#archer responds#dee tag

While I truly believe The Last of Us Part 2 is the greatest video game ever(I will die on this hill). I realized while playing The Walking Dead: The Final Season that I think the only thing that could have made me more satisfied was if we had gotten a scene that mirrors Lee visiting Clementine in a dream but with Joel and Ellie. One where she would tell him about Dina and JJ and her regrets from Seattle. Where Joel would tell her he missed her and that he doesn’t resent her for not forgiving him, and to visit him again. 😭

So I've started playing Telltale Walking Dead with a friend and I just watched the last scene with Clementine and Lee in season 1 and I need to talk about it because it's so good both from a storytelling perspective and a game design perspective and both and I just need to talk about it though I'm sure everyone has already heard it before.
There's a million things about that scene that I love so I'll prolly rant about it again later but right now I'm goin with the bit where it intertwines the gameplay with the narrative really well in that way you can only get with the medium of video games, where the gameplay provides a unique vehicle for the story that you can't get in other forms of media.
Cause the way Lee progressively gets further and further towards the progression of becoming a walker ultimately passing out and waking up somewhere new with Clementine having dragged him in there and called that shot is the first hint of it being someone other than Lee making the big choices, and from that moment the focus of gameplay begins to shift, not a lot at first but just enough, when you get up and walk to the other side of the room it's not just Lee you're moving along as you walk it's Clementine with him, as the gameplay begins to slowly pass the torch, until Lee gives out and can no longer move and from then it gets really good.
Cause oh my god the way the rest of that scene (and therefore the game) plays out being Lee calling out to Clementine, telling her what to do, and her taking all the action, makes it so that while you are still Lee, fundamentally, you're playing as Clementine, making the transition between the two, both as the player characters and as the in universe transfer of the responsibility of survival, the weight of the world that Lee can no longer protect her from, feel much more real and impactful as it's literally changing the way you as the player are engaging with the world itself. It's that sort of thing that makes me love the narrative potential of video games so much, the way you can wrap the player up in how the game and the characters work and use that interactivity as a means to incite feelings and impact the experience. The narrative potential of video games as a medium is so incredible and that scene did so good with it I love it for that.
#telltale the walking dead#telltale games#man I love video games#they're so good#I wish there was more focus on how the interactivity of games can change a narrative experience even without the aspect of choice#which this game certainly does have obviously#but also just with the way your connection to the characters you're controlling changes the experience and how you control them makes impac#there's a lot of good stuff there#i live for good examples of that

Telltales The Walking Dead (Review)
Date: 9/2/23
Hey everyone welcome back! Hope you are all doing well. Today I will be talking about the Telltales The Walking Dead first game, this game was a major comfort of mine growing up. I still hold it to very high standards.
In this game you play as a character named Lee Everett, a convicted murderer who is on his way to prison. Quickly though the cop car crashed, Lee breaks his way out of the vehicle to find help, only to see undead around him. He rushes to a house for help from the walking dead, only to find it abandoned and blood everywhere. He meets a little girl named Clementine, she basically ends up becoming his daughter. He makes it his mission to help her try and find her parents, they travel for weeks, meeting many people along the way. Most of these people stick together, wanting to find comfort in other survivors as they travel to find safety. They end up in a town called Savannah, the last place Clementine's parents were seen/heard. Through a heartbreaking event though, Lee is bitten and Clementine is captured by a random man. So with a race against time, Lee sets off to find his little girl and save her. He does eventually find her, only for their story to end in the most tragic way possible.
I love this game to my core, this one is a little shorter, but there is just so much story I would have to go over. You would be reading this all day. I highly recommend playing this, it is a bit older so the graphics are not absolutely everything, but that does not matter. It has an amazing story, characters you get attached to very easily, and overall just nice game play. It is kind of like a 3-D point and click though. :)
Here are some links to the trailer, game play, and a guide. :)

8, 11, and 31 for the video game asks ✨
A series you haven’t played but are interested in trying
answered here!
Do you prefer ‘blank slate’ main characters you make yourself or otherwise project onto, or characters with a set personality and backstory?
i will take a character with a personality and backstory any day of the week over a create-your-own kind of deal. those games always play a little bit like a self-insert and that trope that doesn't appeal to me across any media
(though i will give developers a little kiss if the game has things like branching dialogue options or traits and skills trees that affect gameplay because you better believe i'm replaying to break down all facets of the main character in minute detail)
Someone has never played a video game before but is open to trying any genre. What game would you recommend as their first?
OH that question is so tricky but i'm gonna say telltale's the walking dead season 1 for the following reasons:
it's mechanics are so simple a blind monkey could probably get through it without too much bother
its fairly short from what i remember? and episodic so not a big commitment
it has an incredibly strong story, compelling and sympathetic characters, and your choices have tangible impact on their lives
i recruit another sucker to listen to me cry and wail and tear my hair out over lee and clementine's relationship (because it's been a decade and i am still HAUNTED by them.)
ask me viddy game questions
#oh no i need to go to bed and now i'm thinkin of them (lee and clementine)#they joel and ellie'd before there was a joel and ellie#they were the blueprint they were the moment and they made me cry real tearz#ask games
