At last--- Humanformer Nightshade!! NS has by far one of my favorite designs and coming of age episodes out of all the Terrans, I hope I did them justice!! misc jpn study tip 2 - vtubers/vtuber clips!

so last night while reading, i put on one of 岸堂天真 (きしどてんま)’s eldin ring streams, and i had the thought of making a post about this!

personally im a pretty big vtuber fan, specifically of japanese vtubers. not only are they entertaining, they’re pretty good if you want to get immersion or learn more natural japanese.

but i find that they can also be quite challenging! since the language is so natural, even if you watch to watch the streams it can be hard to understand.

so thats why i recommend starting with vtuber clips! the word for this in japanese is 切り抜き (きりぬき). clips are usually short and precise with subtitles for the main points. i think this makes it an easy starting point!

to find some, search on YT the vtubers name you want, plus 切り抜き. it should come up. also, when you search it you might see 手描き切り抜き (てがききりぬき) as well. as you might be able to guess, it means the creator of the clip also added animation/art alongside the og clip~

here are some official sites for popular vtuber companies, you can scroll through and see if there are any talents that peak your interest ~ (i would include indies as well, but to be honest, i dont really know any indie jp vtubers.)

fuck it, my vtuber kiibo au thats been brewing in my head for like a year.

Tetsuya Iidabashi was scouted by Tsumugi Shirogane, who works works at a vtubing company as a manager, to stream as a vtubing talent as K1-B0 (or kiibo). Tetsuya was initially hesitant considering he wasn't familiar with the scene but their curiosity peaked after he was told he could become an idol if he joined (despite not being a very good singer)

for the unaware, i'm a vtuber fan! I've been watching holostars en since debut but it was only after being a casual fan for close to year, that i started to get really into it (no one asked but, my kamioshi is crimzon ruze) and of course that seeped into my danganronpa brain and this is where its gone.

disclaimer: literally anything and everything in this little au is subject to change. i don't really plan on this being a huge thing or be completely thought out. i just wanted to try my hand at designing a hypothetical vtuber and have some fun with concepts that would lend themselves well with keebs!

anyway. here's some of my scrambled thoughts (i'll do actual kiibo lore some other time because this post would be way too long and unbearable)

roomates with kaede (who is not a vtuber but does end up streaming a little on the side after being inspired by kiibo)

^i keep flipfloping between them being in a qpr or romantic relationship (you decide, whatever)

i've already mentioned it before but: calls their chat their 'inner voice' sometimes

college student maybe? (probably in japanese culture or something)

before he was scouted, he was a faceless streamer to a couple thousand followers (probably had a pngtuber at most)

ive thought of shuichi being a genmate because i like the idea ship shenanigans in the workplace but idk!!!!!!!

ive also liked the idea of instead of v3 being a show it was entirely vtubers online under team danganronpa. that'd be fun i think

in my mind, the company he's part of is hololive adjacent (because that's what i'm familiar with) considering their goal is to be an idol but idk if i'm up for thinking about his genmates or others gens

went out with Hakkanui and Gannui to buy some Japanese books! I am by far not at the level I should be to even attempt reading them,but considering that it would be a very me way to just brute force my learning through reading and only watching jp. videos/streams/series/etc. it just fits ya know?

I also got some other stuff! A little chinese sign charm that looks incredibly cute, a new brushpen and refill for it, a manga, a mystery bag from which I got the pokemon bag + a figurine + mousepad + the mug Hakkanui is in

overall,very expensive,but super fun!
