That job called me back to say they accepted me but yet again the pay rate wasn't what they had listed, and I could tell the manager talking to me knew that too bc she kept trying to tiptoe around it. If your company site says 14/hr for a part time position as the *starting base pay*, don't tell me it's actually 9-10/hr and then move on! "Well pay raises and promotions are possible!" Im not gonna wait til ive worked 2 years for a $2.50 pay raise, ESPECIALLY when you're fightin so hard to talk about anything but that! That's not the pay I discussed with the store owners and the shit you're offering me would only stretch so far like cmon

Crafting update: I had the day off work, so I ran some errands and overdid it enough that my heart rate was acting up, so I decided it was a "sit and crochet" kind of day, except I overdid that too so now I have an almost-finished crocheted cauldron and a blister attempting to form on my finger, so no more crochet for me for a few days lol

Season three is smitten with its gorgeously plated delectables; let’s acknowledge the human cost of this perishable perfection, it whispers, while also savoring it. That’s more than simple decadence. Artful food prep edifies, this show believes. The Bear’s working-class characters experience life-changing transformations in the first two seasons, to genuinely moving effect. Tina (Liza Colón-Zayas), Marcus (Lionel Boyce), and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach)—who prep food, make desserts, and host guests, respectively—enjoy an almost religious grace after making exacting, depersonalizing commitments to their crafts. They lose themselves in a calling and find themselves remade, members of an elect. They remain wage workers in a brutally exploitative industry and live in one of the United States’ most violently segregated cities, polishing forks and tweezing herbs for the rich. But they now belong to the kingdom of Art, The Bear reassures us. The Bear wants to capture the physically and psychically draining grind that makes haute cuisine go, while also adoring the food that business produces; it wants to send up the managerial abuse rampant in the fine-dining industry, while also heaping adulation on famous chefs, many of whom appear in cameos. Throughout, fine dining is something less than the act of “nurture” that Thomas Keller, who appears as himself, purports. But it could be, season three seems earnestly to believe, if only its talented stars would get out of their own way. There’s too much beauty in fine dining, too much painfully exquisite sublimation, too much clarifying elegance for it not to save lives. In its mimetic longing for that beauty and elegance—its hope that it might become as lovely as Carmy’s plates—The Bear loses its way.

I am so so curious about what the relationship between Governor James Howlett and the Scott in his universe is like.

His Scott is only nineteen? Threatens to kill him? Are they serious threats? Or is it in more of an empty threat a young adult might use to lash out at an adult in power? James is the Governor-General of Canada. Are they assassination threats? Are they the kind of frustrated words said during training or sparring?

And then this? He seems pretty proud of the Scott that isn't his. I wonder if he sees his own Scott in him. If he hopes his world's Scott winds up so brave.
