the box has a puzzle in it that goes as follows:

"Fashionable Bears"

There is a 3×3 grid where fashionable bears are lined up. These bears seem to be lined up according to a certain rule. Now, which bear from A to D fits in the empty space?

Layton says "If you don't know the answer, try looking for hints on the package!"

Hint 1:

Why are they dressed up so stylishly? There seems to be some secret.

Hint 2 :

Just one word of advice. Don't worry about the diagonal!

Hint 3:

Each bear is wearing a hat, glasses, or a ribbon. Think about whether there is any pattern regarding these fashion items.

Special Hint (Super Hint):

Focus on the hats and take a look. From the bear on the top left and moving horizontally, they are wearing a beret, a straw hat, and a silk hat in that order. Vertically, they are wearing a beret, a silk hat, and a straw hat. In other words, there are no bears wearing the same type of hat in each row or column. The same rule applies to glasses and ribbons.

I actually do like that they never found Katrielle's biological father, because it ties into the theming of the anime that she didn't need any other father because the Professor was always Dad to her, and that sometimes the search for answers can do more harm than good to those who you're doing the search for.

However, there's another angle to that fact that I didn't consider until now: we know absolutely nothing about him. Don't know where he came from, where he went, what he looks like, if he's alive–nothing. Which means for all we know Katrielle could have a ton of half siblings out there somewhere. Of course, Katrielle mostly favors Kamilla in appearance, so it's not likely she'd run into a half sibling due to them looking just like her or anything, but it's still interesting to think about.

Layton Mystery Detective Agency Books

I recently discovered these Layton Mystery Detective Agency Books that I had never heard of before.

Since I'm an obsessed Layton fan, I immediately bought the entire set, ten books in total.

I looked it up and the books were made by @Layton_Creative.

(Go check out their Twitter they have loads of cute art!)

I have no idea how "official" these books are, but they are ready cute and I really enjoyed them!

Each book is based on a single episode of the anime.

The artstyle is really cute and funny at times.

And this is a Layton book, so there are naturally puzzles to solve!

One thing I really like is there are a few changes and extra scenes that aren't in the anime.

For example, in the final case, Hastings and Brittanias must work together to solve the puzzles to rescue the Dragons.

And by the end of it, they actually become friends!

Also, Clover Pryce doesn't die in this version! A great day for women!

My favorite part however is the end of the final case, where Katrielle walks through town and sees all the people she's helped. I'm glad to see Pastel smiling, he definitely had the most tragic episode.

There's also a cute illustration at the end.

It's Birdsday Thursday and here is my design for child Hastings. While he may not be a bird, his Dads are so he gets a pass.

At this point he's not Inspector Hastings, he's just little Ercule.

The coolest kid in school. Not only is he immune to Yo Mama jokes, he also lives in a super wicked airship.

Even as a child, he has a strong sense of justice. He often defends smaller kids from bullies, even if it gets him into trouble.

And he does often get into trouble. He never means to, it just happens. His plasters are the result of his latest misadventure.

He's a bit insecure about his height, but Rook assures him he'll be taller then him one day.

He's the kind of kid who's always snacking on cheese puffs and always has sticky fingers.

Don't ask where Rook and Bishop get all the San Grio merchandise from. They must be collectors.

I feel like I understand what Luke went through at the beginning of the Treasure Relics saga a bit better now.

Did he also count the bricks? Did he also think how to make shadows? Did he also feel as if time itself had stopped, the wall effectively eternal, with no beginning and no end?? Did he also see his future carved in the...

ok idk how people feel about the lmj anime but can we take a minute to discuss how hershel leaving absolutely makes sense for his character? like all the characters are (rightly) telling him he doesn't have to do this, him and kat are already family but he is hell bent on getting her the truth. can you blame him? this is a guy who was basically lied to for his entire life and denied the only family he had only to find out the truth too late when everything had already gone to shit. him doing this for kat absolutely makes sense, he doesn't want that for her.

Layton Series Sibling Outing

I really love the layton series! Ever since I saw the trailer for the new game, I continued this drawing that was in my junk pile. Here's Alfendi Layton, Katrielle Layton and Flora Reinhold having a full day of sibling fun. Hope you guys like it!
