Hello! You top five johnny lawrence moments (ck or tkk)? 🙂

OH YAY! It is Friday night and this is going to be so much fun! Thank you!

This is also going to be tough, and I bet by tomorrow I'll be like "Nooooooo you should have picked THIS!" 🤣

Anyway, here goes...

1: Season 3 episode 2

I can't pick a single part from this episode, so I'm going to pick the entire thing as my favourite Johnny Lawrence moment. Like the WHOLE thing lol.

This episode influenced SO many of my fics. Good Cop, Bad Cop Situation was totally based on this episode. North had elements of it too with them stopping at a gas station for food.

I love this episode because of the whump, because of how angry Johnny is, the chop shop fight, the look on his face when Daniel says maybe Robby has a little too much of him in him, and most of all, when Miguel asks him why this happened and he says "I don't know." The look on his face make me 😭

2: HAM?

I have family in LA. Last time I went to stay with them in 2019 they had ham in their fridge, and I thought "Oh, ham. I'll make a sandwich!" and I picked up the packet and water ran out of it onto the floor.

In the USA Ham is awful and filled with water and the bread also isn't that good 😉

I still also see this as Daniel thinking "Oh no, I'm in love with this idiot" lol

3: "You know all these years you weren't there, I blamed myself. Sensei Kreese is right. I can't be my own worst enemy. But you can be!"

Johnny just defending and trying not to fight Robby. That single frame where he grabs him by the neck and says, "I won't fight you." holy shit. That moment, the music, the emotions! That scene was incredible! One of my fave scenes in the whole show!

4: The Karate Kid Beach Fight

That moment where Daniel punches Johnny in the nose and he just kinda stands there for a few seconds...

I have so many fics where Johnny is basically realising he is love in that moment lol

5: THE BOW in season 4

It was an amazing moment on it's own for all of us Lawrusso fans

But then we got the ALMOST KISS 🤣

I used to paint with acrylics. This scene made me paint again for a brief time, but I never finished it lol

Maybe I should finish it one day.

Johnny had told Daniel he didn’t want to talk about it, but Daniel pressed the issue anyway. His dark eyes searched Johnny’s face, then his body, as he carefully bandaged his wounds (minor, thank God) and applied antibiotic cream to his cuts.

“Talk to me, Johnny. What happened?”

“Nothing,” was the mumbled reply. Daniel rolled his eyes and grabbed another Band-Aid, ripping the paper off with his teeth.

“You’re bleeding on my kitchen floor; I don’t think that qualifies as nothing.”

What was Johnny supposed to say? I fought your arch-nemesis and got my ass kicked?

“I settled a score.”

[Doug and Robby get in accident and Doug starts to think he is not good for Robby.]

He didn't expect his parents to give him a gift. A bribing gift more like. Corresponding letters came in and his parents had their eye's on a College where he didn't quite wanted to go anymore.

Harvard is great. At one point he was on board , working his ass off in getting the grades and GPA to get a full ride to Harvard but that was all before he met Robby.

His plans changed. Told his parents over dinner one night that he is going to UCLA shocking his mom and dad.

His litter brother wide eyes looking at them not knowing the torment he cause just because a stupid college.

Lectures over Lecture that seem to go over hours and hours but nothing presuaved him only made him irritarited .He told them why.

Which was a mistake . Rickenberger didn't hear the end of it . He understood his parents side, But then again it is his decision and it didn't mean he can't get a good education in a different one.

They brought up the topic every chance they got and he endure it until they starting blaming Robby.

"You should consider Dougie. I called in the office and they still have your spot . You can still change your mind. " His mom pleaded .

He gave her a look and he knew she understood it .She lets out a sad sigh  and her shoulders fell in defeat making his father bristtle with anger.

Doug didn't dare to glance at his father knowing he is probably throwing daggers with his eyes. Doug helps his brother get a better grip on his spoon who smiles at him showing off his dimples in grattitude.

He smiles back but soon it falls hearing his Dad speak.

"I think it's silly for you to throw away your future for a boy who might not be in your life in a year or worse, a month." His father green eyes had a storm in them . The grimace expression made him look older than he was.

"That's not going to happen , Dad. Im not throwing my future away . I thought about it and made my choice. I love Robby and He loves me ." He calmly states the opposite of what he felt . He had one hand on the table and the other on his knee . His thumb and pointer finger  pinched at his leg to keep the urge to bite down his nails.

His father slamed his hand on the table making them flinch.

" You can't survive on love , especially if it's  not the real kind." His dad sharp words cut through him . Biting down his lip until he tasted blood to not offend his father or let him see it tremble from the urge to cry.

He swallows down the feelings and locks it away . He clears his throat and stands up .

" Im going to my room." He simple states, not even daring to look at his angry dad but kept his eyes on his little brother who didn't understand a word .Leans down to give him a kiss on the crown of his head and leaves .

That was a week ago now he stands in the slippery driveway ,His mother gentle hands covering his eyes , he bets she is walking on the tip of her toes to be able to reach and his fathers firm hands guiding him.

"You can open your eyes !" Both of them yelled . He blinked in suprise . In front of them stood a brand new bike , a real beauty right in front of him.

"If i remember correctly my birthday is not today !" Doug laughs in astonishment and confusion at his parents suprise. He ran his hand through his hair and walk closer. Almost slipping from the wet pavement from the rain in the morning .

"Nene, You like it ?"

"Are you kidding !?, Its better than my old one Mom."

"Its all yours, Doug..." His dad smiled but by the tone of his voice his knew there was a catch . The key hangs from his fingers tantalizing him .

"What's the catch ?" He questions. His dad happy vibes were suspicious .

"Harvard." His Dad shrugs like if it was such an easy thing to ask for. His mother offers him a comforting smile making her look beautiful and betraying

Doug makes a tsking noise . Turning his back on them he stares at the bike ,"And here i thought you were being loving parents ." kicking a wet pebble to the side with a huff.

" You don't have to give us an answer right this moment. Take a ride in this baby and think about it ." Doug's dad offers with too much glee in his eyes . He can tell by his father face he thought he finally convince him .

His dad hands over the keys and pats him in the shoulders . Looking down at his attire , black shirt, jeans and his converse made him wonder if he should go change into something warmer.

He decides no to,  might as well use the little time he has with the bike since he is not going to have it for long.

"Robby , Cmon ! It will be a short ride and i will bring you back." Doug pleaded to his boyfriend who was not budging.

" Instead of a motorcyle your parents should've gotten you a car. Why did your parents even get you a new one ?" Robby said ignoring Doug's pleading. Robby hand traced the smooth black seat .

" Who do you think your dating? Thinking so low of me." Doug pretended to be hurt and leaned against the bike .

Robby laughs at his hurt act and roll his eyes making him smile at the action. Robby wrap his arms around his waist ,"You mention about your Dad being upset with you , Im guessing this is his way of apologizing ."

"How about that ride. Its not like its your first time ." Doug quickly change the topic.Robby has no idea about his problem with his family because he knew he would blame himself and try to change his mind.

All his Robby has to know is that UCLA is where he is going and where he always thought of going .

" No. The last time i rode with you i then got thigh burn and im not going through that again. " Robby ignores the sudden change of subject .

" That wasn't the bike it was my stubble . " He smirks at Robby who looks unimpress at his remark but he can see a subtle hint of blush . He takes it as win.

" I will let you ride in front . I'll make it work ." He whines and pouts making him feel ridiculous until Robby gave in .

"Fine !." Robby didn't look to happy but smile regardless when Doug leans down to kiss him .

Robby goes inside his house to get a jacket.He waits patiently,  looking at the sky turning a bit grey and he hoped it wouldn't rain. 

Robby came back with a denim jacket , ripped denim jeans and converse .

"Double denim . Lookin' sexy , Baby." ,Doug catcalls and passes him his helmet that he brought in hopes Robby agreed.

"Shut up ." Robby chuckles and hops on the motorcylce .

Doug sits behind Robby , bringing a hand to move Robby where he needed him to be. Placing in the key to turn on the engine making it come alive . The rumble was music to his ear, Robby place his hands on top of his where they gripped the breaks.

His foot lifts up the kickstand and kicks up his feet up and begins to drive. He started off slow and only sped up a notch once he left further from Robby house.

The chilly wind ran pass them and over their bodys reminding him he only wore a sleveless shirt . Stoping at red light made him feel anxious only calming his nerve once realeasing the brakes on green light.

The problems left his mind and dissapear into the wind. Cars passing by and building seem like a blur but the excitement pumping through his blood was present .

Which made him forget all safety reasons and sped up faster passing the limit and made turns quickly making Robby to speak up.

"Doug maybe you should slow down!" Robby yells and tighten his grip on Doug wrist .

It starts to rain . Robby voice brings him back and the wet drops from the sky. A black truck coming in their direction makes him take quick turn to the right making the bike tires make a screeching noise.

"Doug!" Robby screams at him warning him of the car he is about to crash into.

Doug trys to pull the breaks but with the accelerated speed , the sudden turn and slippery wet pavement from the rain made him lose control .

The bike crashes into the white car that doesn't manage to halt in time. He lets go  of the brakes and immediately takes a hold of Robby . Using his body to prevent any damage to the shorter male.

Hitting the ground he blacks out for a moment.. Eyes are open but they keep closing. Head feels ten times heavier maybe its the helmet . Rain splatters over the windshield .

He can't move. There's no weight over him .

Robby. Robby . Robby.

"Robby." It comes out in a broken whisper. No answer. "Robby!" A bit louder this time. No answer . People start to make commotion , some start yelling for help , some start to explain to others what happened.

What happened ? Rain splatters more vigorously on him and to the ground making splashing sounds.

Conjuring all the strength he can as painful as it felt ,He gets up. A gasp comes from the crowd. Reaching up to get rid of the stupid helmet and pain surges from fingers to his wrist and shoulders.

He lets out a  sound of pain . Throwing the helmet aside he still feels 20 times heavier .

" Dont move kid . Stay where you at. The ambulance are on their way." Someone says a-bit muffled.

Doug lets out labored breaths and a urge of vomit makes him frozen. There's blood on him , the rain gets on his eyes but feels thicker . Ignoring the stranger he tries to do the effort of getting up but he falls.

Knees make harsh contact with the cement , " Robby !" He yells but no answer. Crawls forward , terror started to grow at the  pit of his stomach. He sees the stupid bike at the corner of his eye the urge to puke resurfaces.

Until his hand makes contact with another hand.

Robby limp body is there. Doug takes a trembling breath , tries one more time to stand he puts his weight on his palm resulting in inmense pain rediating from his right hand up to his shoulder.

"Baby. Fuck , Open your eyes .Please ." Doug pleads , hands hover but to scared to touch in fear of hurting him more " Wake up , Wake up ."He lets out wet sob a pain soaring through his throat . The helmet is still on blocking him to see his face.

Why isn't he waking up? Dont leave me.

The ambulance and police arive, they try to pull him away but he shrugs them away he has to stay with Robby but it's useless their more stronger.

Everything happening to fast. Two medics are placing Robby in a stretcher and takes him . He stands up and refuse any help and gets on the ambulance with Robby

Doug prostested against the nurses trying to check for any injuries . They leave him alone after one of the male staff received a blow to the face by his knee.

He was sent to sit down on the stiff chairs and left with a security on stand by just in case of another commotion.

Biting down his nails from his left hand to calm his nerves, his leg start to bounce , his mouth taste like metallic once again , Doug takes a look , he's nails are bleeding from tearing his nail with his teeth.

How can he be so reckless.

He shuts his eyes and start to pray. Please Father i ask , im begging you to save Robby. I know you can heal him from your divine grace. He doesn't deserve pain, punish me that-

"Patient Robby Keene, Im his father !" Someone storms in and speaks to the nurse , a familiar voice yells.

He snapped his head up and look to his left , there stood Mr.Lawrence alongside is Mr.LaRusso looking worried  .

The nurse clicks on her keyboard and she points his direction and informs them that Robby is in the ER .

The walk over and dread washes over him for the second time . Shaking he stands up and face Robby father.

" Tell me what happened." The angry adult commands .

"I lost control of the bike and i didn't see the car coming, Im sorry ." Stuttering out his reply he felt like a kid in the moment.

"I warned you in the begining kid. To not hurt my son and what do you do ! Huh !", Mr. Lawrence snarls at him , the hurt evident in his eyes . The man takes a hold of his shoulders making wince in pain .

Mr.LaRusso pulls him away before he makes any other move. Doug did his best to keep his composure and not look pathetic but the shame took over his body making him look away from the glare of an angry parent.

Footsteps are heard and shoes appear infront of him . Hunched over , he didn't dare to look up. Brain still fuzzy , he regrets not letting the nurse check him.

Tory and him are matching . There's blood on his and she has dirt on hers. Their voices sound far away , his mind kept replaying the incident trying to find how he could've avoided the accident.

Robby laying there looking lifeless kept tormenting him. His eyes stinged from the unshed tears pain bubbled up from his chest to the throat from keep down the urge to sob. Grinding his jaw from the pain surging all over his body.

The pain starts to become stronger now the adrelanine and shock slowly wears off.

Dainty hands get a grip in the front of his shirt forcing him to stand up . Looks down to face her , Sam face is screwed in anger he's half listening but the words he catch on sting.

"If anything bad happens to Robby-," The corner of his eyes he can tell by the stance of the rest are feeling the same. They are Robby's friend, of course they care for the health of the short boy. She threathens him.

Demetri is next he gets up in his face to spit out words . This might be the first time he seen the guy mad like a rabid dog and not like a scared cat..

" I knew you would hurt him all along . You don't deserve him!" Demetri yells before he shoves him hard, again and again until Eli pulls him away but not without giving him a dissapointed look.

"You should leave . Your not welcome here. Rickenberger." Sam said in disdane her eyes watering and her lip began to wobble.

He shakes his head in protest. Taking a deep breath in before speaking up. "Im not leaving Robby. He needs me- I need him." He correct himself, voice sounds hoarse and broken. Dizzynes makes its appearance again the aching from his fingertips start to bother him more.

" You did enough today don't you think . You heard them , Robby doesn't need you he has us." Tory speaks up . Voice harsh like her cold icy blue eyes that were glassy.

Scoffing at her , at them . He wants to scream at them for thinking he would want to hurt the person he loves but he looks around. In ER without any news of his boyfriend .

It true. Its his fault. He put Robby in danger , not anyone but him.

Defeated he nods and leaves but takes a glance behind him as if to say goodbye to Robby. Miguel held Sam in his arms, Eli whispered in Demetri ear calming him down and Tory stands there looking at him . For a brief second she looks heartbroken and he wants to reach out to her but she leaves to sit with Robby parent's.

"Doug!, Are you okay?!, What happen ?!", His mother rush to him and asked worried .

"I don't think you can take the bike to the dealership anymore." He mutters.

His parents give him a heartbreaking look , his dad chuckles sadly ," You are more important than some scraps. I love you ." The gentleness of his father voice was the final crack to fall apart. He starts crying , the sob escaping from him and he held onto them like his life depended on them .

Two dislocated fingers. Sprained wrist and bruised shoulder that ran to his back. A deep cut above the eyebrow .

Turns out he had injuries after all . The doctor explained it all to his parents from his clipboard. His shoulder took the first to hit the ground and landed on his right arm .

Doug manage to get information on Robby after telling him he was his boyfriend and needed to know.

Doctor only inform him that he wasout of critical danger , but had a broken leg and had to undergo into sugery . But everything was fine .

It didn't help Doug feel any better.

His parents brought him fresh clothes to change since the doctor gave them the okay to leave . He didn't want to leave Robby but he knew he would bring problems if he stayed.

He manage to speak to Tory before he lleaves.

" Listen, Tory , I need you to be by his side in his recovery. Do me a favor , text me about his recovery."

"I don't understand . What we said- We said it in a bad state, our friend who is pratically family had gotten injured and thought the worse. Im sorry , Doug."

"You guys are right .Im doing what's best for him. I need to be away and put my distance -"

"What if he ask about you ?"

"Tell him Im sorry ."

He leaves her in the room and doesn't cry until he's at home .

.....

He's on kid duty watching his little brother play in the front yard screaming his ear off.Who knew how loud he could be , don't they have small lungs .

A car pulls up,It's Sams car . She steps out and walks to the passenger door pulling out crutches .Robby steps out of the car with her help.

"Stay here don't move ok , Ben."

He rushes to Robby , not wanting the boy to hurt himself by walking to much.

"Hope you don't mind me visiting , i thought it would be nice to visit my boyfriend who had the absurd idea thinking we broke up." Robby sarcastically said .

" You shouldn't be here . You should be resting , Does your parents know your here."

"Hi , ben ." Robby waved , " are you going to let me in or what . You used to be thrilled to have me in your room alone is it the crutches or the boot that's a turnoff." Robby teased ignoring everything that he just said.

"They guys told me what happened. They want to apologize.My Dad even offered to cook you dinner but I promise Daniel will be cooking."

"Why are you taking this so heart-lighted? I put you in a hospital. Im the reason you have to use crutches and i probably cause you trauma ."

"And you decided that it meant for you to break up with me . Boyfriend of the year !,Instead you could've been there by my side ."

"Now we are in the same page, Im not good for you , we should leave it as it is. Not drag this on."

"Drag this on ?," Robby scoffs at him ,"Why are you acting like this !? Im not gonna force you to be with me but it will be really idiotic of you to not realise your being fooled by your fears."

"Remember the first time i met your parents . When we broke into an empty house in Ecino and we got caught, the cop let us go with a warning since he was your uncle ," Robby walked closer with the help of his clutches , a nostolgic expression came across them both," Your parents were pissed and i threw a fit thinking you were going to end our relationship but you calmed me down and promised me that nothing or no one would seperate us-"

"Then you threaten me if i ever went back on my word you would kick my ass." Doug lets out a chuckle at the memory .

"It wasn't your fault what happened , I don't blame you Dee, you had alot in your plate that day with your parents pressuring you with harvard-"

Doug quickly look at Robby in suprise "Your parents came to visit me and told me all about it ." Robby sheepishly smiled up at him .

"The secret is out i guess." Doug turn to look back to check on his little brother , but the kid was entertained playing with his toys is his now grass stained clothes.

He knows the guilt won't automatically go away but after what Robby said ,He felt like the weight on his shoulders were lifted. "Let's go in .I warn you now that you will have to keep your hands away from below my waist ." Doug says pointing behind him where little Ben is. Making Robby grin ear-to-ear and Doug leant down to kiss him .

"I love you."

"I love you too.Alright lets go in Bubba , I really have to pee !" He says making Doug burst out laughing . He guides him into the house and calls Ben to go inside . Closing the door he lets out a sigh he didn't realise he was holding in and breaks out of his trance when Robby yells at him to help him pee.

Which Doug never thought he would hear those words come out of the brunette mouth. His heart feels lighter now having Robby close .

Tbh it wasn't in my plans only because previous attempts to color past seasons ended in tragic fails I couldn't even post lol, but the s5 trailer clips were so much fun to work with plus the full time additions of Terry and Chozen to the cast (and spending so much time with Daniel!) are kind of irresistible 😅

Just got back from a trip and haven't had time to watch but missed giffing a ton so here's to queuing some eps up as we speak and maybe getting a quick set done for you!

On the "oh shit you could have died" end of the spectrum-imagine with me for a moment, a Johnny freshly released from the hospital after (insert awful trauma here- anything from the previously mentioned stabbing, to alcohol withdrawal syndrome, which can be deadly in certain cases). He's furious and snapping at everyone; Daniel, Carmen, the kids- refusing to let anyone help(WickedJade on ao3 is doing this really well with If It Wasn't For Bad Luck) insisting he's fine, even if he'd just been on his death bed. This scenario almost always ends up going for one of my top five angst tropes which is the "love confession in the middle of furiously screaming about how dumb the person is". 30 years of pent up frustration plus Daniel Jersey temper is a perfect cocktail for this scenario, and then we get to see Johnny's "oh right, people actually care about me" revelation which is always just *chef's kiss*.

On a lighter note- some of my favorite fic are some good ol fashioned sick fics. One of my favorite things about Johnny as a character is that I feel like we can all definitely agree that he's the kinda man who could get stabbed and then proceed to tell everyone else that he's completely fine. But one thing I've never seen touched on is the opposite- Johnny blowing off actually major injuries/illnesses, but being a huge goddamn baby about like, the flu.

Like he'll have a cold and just stay in bed for three days and just bitch and complain about it the whole time, really play it up, be real overdramatic about it. And then we add very obvious helicopter parent Daniel to this equation and it's all over folks. This man would probably take off work to baby him and hover constantly. Now don't get me wrong, Johnny will still bitch about getting taken care of, but he's not gonna try and stop him from doing it. Daniel would also definitely poke fun at him the whole time but in that old married couple kinda way.

Just sitting here thinking about how much I love protective!Johnny and all those Johnny protects Daniel from Terry Silver/Kreese/Mike Barnes KK3 AUs. Narratively it’s so satisfying to explore given their TKK history. Johnny’s guilt about the past combined with his present love for Daniel makes for such a complex kaleidoscope of emotions he has to deal with in order to not only give everything he has to save Daniel but also to come to terms with his own previous actions in a new light now that he sees someone else harming him. It’s just....chef’s kiss <3 Love to see it!

WIP Tag Game

I was tagged by @elsonambulo (thank you!) to share the last sentence of a WIP. I couldn’t help myself so here’s two little snippets from fic I’m currently calling “Marching Orders”. 

"Johnny-san stay."

They both looked up to see Mr. Miyagi in the doorway. Daniel just nodded mutely. Johnny buried his head in Daniel's shoulder and let out sob.

What the hell had they gotten themselves into?

Taking orders was just about the only thing Johnny Lawrence was good at. He knew this because his mom had told him. And Sid had told him. And Kreese had told him.

Had another Daniel LaRusso whump thought.

What if: during a sparring match with Sam, she stops seeing her father and goes back to fighting with Tory. Daniel tried to get through to her, but she doesn’t seem to hear him. She kicks him in the face (jaw or forehead - bc, let’s be honest, she’s a fracking badass) which stuns him long enough for her to take out his legs (somehow) and get him on his back where she stands on his chest to keep him from moving.

It’s about this time that the trauma from the fight ebbs, and she sees her father once again. She’s horrified at what she’s done, immediately getting off him and kneeling next to him. “Dad?” she calls, unable to believe what she just did.

Daniel, who is just as stunned as Sam, doesn’t know what the heck just happened, but he does know that his daughter needs him. So, he slowly sits up, reassuring her that everything’s okay, that he’s okay.

Enter Johnny (always at the wrong moment, right?). He and Daniel are besties now and he’s there to pick Daniel up for some training or something. When he comes in, Sam flees to her room. Johnny then kneels next to Daniel, asking what happened and if he’s okay. Not two minutes later, Amanda comes in with the same questions. Daniel says he’s fine (he’s hurting, but fine) and Amanda goes inside to call Carmen, asking her to check on Daniel (she doesn’t want to deal with the questions the doctors would/might ask) and asks her to bring Miguel since she knows Sam needs a friend.

When Abuela is told where the other two are going, she insists on joining too. (This is gonna be fluffy, possibly with some Poly relationships going round with them all.) so, the three of them come, just as Johnny gets Daniel into the house and sitting on the couch. While Carmen checks on Daniel, Abuela fusses in Spanish over all of them, complaining they were all too thin, and goes and makes them a big meal (with Amanda, who in my mind can speak Spanish, helping.).

And...that’s all I got so far. Came up with the idea while trying to fall asleep so I didn’t get too far into it.
