Cine online: Blue jeans (1977)

Julien Morin (Gilles Budin) es un preadolescente francés que, junto a sus compañeros, arriba a Kent, en Inglaterra, para pasar cuatro semanas en viaje de estudio. El plan es reforzar el inglés ya aprendido, pero la etapa estival y la cercanía de la playa estimulan otra clase de planes más acorde con su efervescencia hormonal. Los chicos son muy precoces (hay profusas escenas de uso de tabaco y alcohol) y el sexo (pretendido o real) es tema diario de conversación.

Así las cosas, Julien conoce a Janet (el nombre de la actriz es inhallable aún en el sitio imdb.com), una chica local con la que congenia de inmediato y establece una relación de profunda amistad... hasta que conoce al novio de ésta, Jean-Pierre (Michel Gibet). Si Janet era para Julien casi una pareja, la aparición del muchacho se convierte en una fascinación y en elemento de iluminación personal. Lo busca con intensidad al punto de sufrir si no le encuentra, lo cual comienza a despertar en los amigos del involucrado y en los propios la idea, cada vez más poderosa, de que Julien podría ser gay (hay una escena de abierta interpretación sobre un incidente entre el protagonista y el maestro Lavigier, interpretado por Gérard Croce, cuando éste lo invita a asistir a su casa, habla con su alumno sobre lo sucedido y le propone agregar whisky a su té). Es más: los jeans azules a los que hace referencia el título son los que Jean-Pierre le da a su nuevo amigo como simbolo de la relación que mantienen.

Una historia de coming-of-age hecha y derecha, esta película, única realizada y estrenada del director Hugues Burin des Roziers, fallecido a los cuarenta y un años, refleja con pulso sensible el instante crítico en que la búsqueda de la propia identidad sexual se convierte en lo más importante de la vida.

SECURITE ROUTIERE: Une nouvelle victime d’accident à La-Vigie La route a fait une nouvelle victime ce lundi après-midi. Un jeune voyageant dans un taxi, qui a fait plusieurs tonneaux sur l’autoroute dans la région de La-Vigie, a été tué sur le coup. Les autres passagers de la voitire, soit entre quatre et sux, ont été transportés d’urgence à l’hôpital Nehru pour des soins.  La voiture se dirigeait vers Curepipe quand pour des raisons à être élucidées par l’enquête policière, elle a fait des tonneaux. Des témoins oculaires ont donné le numéro d’un autobus, qui pourrait en partie expliquer les raisons pour lesquelles, le chauffeur a perdu le contrôle de son véhicule. L’enquête policière se poursuit alors que des passagers blessés ont été hospitalisés.
