Ok but about the Devlin's house case. I think Edwin wasn't oblivious but had naturalised abuse as something from his upbringing and as a result from being in hell. Still not the same experience and trauma as Charles. But I think he didn't want to acknowledge the fact that his afterlife-long best friend and partner who smiles a lot, fights off dangerous beings and always has a spring in his step has been hurt in ways he can not help with. He can't make it better, he just usually balks on Charles good mood and warm attitude. That's why he's horrified and confused and worried when Crystal says it out loud and confronts him .

Hi. Ed lore time. Because guy who was doubting if i'd make him an oc made him an oc.

First of all I have to admit I didn't think he'd survive the great phoney massacre. BUT IF HE DID... I actually struggle to imagine what his bond with Jack would be.

I mean because Ed by nature is Really laid back, you know? Just a chill man, just wants to sit down or lean over something (his back hurts save him) and talk about whatever to whoever. But cat adjusting his tie he can be very serious sometimes too.

I feel he's an escapist by nature. Hit the brakes typa dude. It is half canon (let's say... Implied By The Text.) that he left everything behind to come here. Like he's just a bit of a rat like that. Cuantas veces se habra escapado como laucha por tirante 😔

Maybe this is how he survived the great event. Which is actually insane i didn't realize that's two of the kind he'd have survived. I feel kinda sad now.

I bet he keeps a diary or maybe a sketchbook and its just the most demented and horrible and just plain depressing things you'd imagine. It's what keeps him sane :)

Maybe this is what he uses to make sense of his dreams too. Could you imagine if he kept drawing bunnies before DTrap did the whole kidnapping a toddler thing?

BACK ON TOPIC THL explore his thing w Jack further... Maybe he just, finally wants to get it together. To... stop running away. Like this is his last chance, since there's no life for a guy like him outside of this, he saw it, so he will give his 101% to make this work.

Except he sucks. And his boss sucks. Like he's a gen 3 he doesn't have much experience but he's trying so hard.

He'd try so hard to get along w Jack tho. Trying to see themselves as equals. ESPECIALLY if Jack actually bothers to learn his backstory. He tries to have a positive attitude a "we're in this together :)" typa thing y'know?

Feel he'd try a little too hard tho. Maybe blame himself a little when Jack is a cunt to him. Like it's his fault he's right he just isn't trying hard enough, you know? It's fine, Jack's a good man <:)

This would not apply to pure evil tho. Ed is not stupid. Not THAT stupid. He'd be so fucking pissed tho.

I mean whole deal is he'd be trying to please Jack try to make things right but at this point he'd be so fucking fed up. Positivity be damned. He did EVERYTHING he fucking could for this company and for him to make things right and this is what he does? He knows he won't survive out there, not for long, but he'll not stick around to die here. He already let him get away with too much.

Also, Ed tried to avoid swearing but more bc he's in the workplace and stuff. He still swears semi regularly.

He's at heart a very chill man, after all. I think he'd smoke weed if he could. He has to settle for tobacco in the meantime. Save him....

But to answer the most important question: would yaoi be possible? Answer is yeah. I think with a bit of effort Jack could manage to get in his pants. And Jack would. He likes hot dads and Ed IS, a massive dilf.

Just rewatched the movie w/ my partner (!)

It's interesting and lovely how the movie emphasized on his blindness since his first appearance, using body language and slight gestures to show it even before it's stated out loud.

The fact that it doesn't stop him from standing by himself and doing stuff and fucking living as an hermit in magical, forbidden forest not only surviving but simply, living. Vibing with Aiden and learning stuff.

Also he does know his limitations, and both him and the other characters eventually get it)!

ALSO I read about someone saying "if the magic did fix other stuff, why is Garrett still blind in the end?" BUT IT DOES MAKE SENSE. Magic is whimsy, we know that. But it fixed what needed/wanted to be fixed. Garrett's blindness didn't need to be fixed.

He's a knight of the round table, he knows his way around one of the most dangerous places, he's got his own back and now (after the end of the film) he's not as alone as he was.

After their little trip to the warm lands (not Santiago del Estero) I think Charles becomes overprotective, the rest of the gang as well. But he becomes hypervigilant and Edwin gets paranoid for a little while.

Charles wants desperately to insist and make Edwin learn some self defense, some fighting, even try some magical weapons but knows that if he presses on the matter it won't help. Some part of him wants to put Edwin in his bag every time they get a slightly demonic/hellish case so he will be safe.

It also makes him understand why Edwin reacts the way he does when they're in danger/there's an imminent aggression. He's all run or freeze. He sprints fast because of hell. He freezes when he thinks it would be futile to try and run. He stays close to Charles because he feels safer that way.

I think eventually he feels safe with Crystal and Niko too, but also some protectiveness towards them (as well as Charles, as we know)
