15 APH Poland headcanons

1. In fact, Poland isn’t a big fan of skirts. He prefers crop tops.

2. He prays to God every morning after waking up and every night before going to sleep.

3. Prussia constantly mocks Poland for his feminine looks. Pol cries very easily and starts to hate his own body when something like this happens. It falls for Lithuania to comfort him.

4. He takes lots of care for his appearance, so he always puts perfume on during meetings, showers two times per a day and uses pretty girly products. He sings while showering pretty often too.

5. Poland speaks soooooo many languages. He speaks Polish (Native), Kashubian (Expert) Silesian (Expert), English (Expert), German (Expert), Russian (Expert), Latin (Expert), Lithuanian (Expert), French (Intermediate), Hungarian (Random words) and Greek (Random words).

6. His favourite food, beside Paluzski, are Pierogi, Żurek and chocolate.

7. His tummy is very, very slightly pudgy and is a home to all those delicious Paluszkis. It’s also really soft, making it the perfect pillow.

My answer is i don't really know but i do know that my first name Gabrielė(Gabrielle) the names origins are from Hebrew and French origins, and my middle name Felicija(Felicia) is from Latin origins that's what I know

I think it was in December, when i had thoughts that some hetalians don't like me and hate me for some unknown reasons, well a lease that's what I think because some hetalians blocked me for no reason and unknown reasons even know I don't know some of them and never interacted with them well except for some art, fanart and fanfic of their's that I like but mostly never interacted with them with i find it weird and frustrating, I just don't like being blocked for no and unknown reasons, I who never block people for no reason and unknown reasons

And also that time in December too when that rude anon attacked me for my art and for being a beginner artist, which also made me sad 😔

Fun fact! I was in high school, and I became president of our school's anime club the year we got a massive influx of freshman--like my class was the biggest freshman class in years, but then this class came in and it was like 20% bigger, and meeting for 2 hours once a week, we were the most active club on campus, and get this: this was like the year Hetalia became a huge thing. I was dealing with our biggest anime club yet and the strongest leadership decision I made was forcing everyone to watch Blood+ on my birthday.... Also letting other girls choose the anime on their birthdays. But like it didn't matter in the end because all these girls really wanted to watch was Hetalia. So I'd show like.. 2 token episodes of the anime we meant to watch that week (because you know, variety) but we'd spend the rest of the time watching Hetalia. Except I wasn't really watching Hetalia, I was in the back of the room, hunched over my AP English and AP world History homework so that I would be free all weekend to compulsively write. I'll admit that at the time, because I was into world history, I thought it was a clever (albeit terrifyingly reductive) concept. Like when you're rushing through world history in an AP class, your brain kind of tends to default to literal dialogue between countries to understand complex international events. So like, when you're reading about these vast events taking place over months of time, your brain can kind of reduce it to "This country said 'fuck you' so this country said, 'Fuck you, bitch.'" Which again is like... very reductive and is ultimately a grossly ignorant narrative but when you're in the american schooling system and everything is hinging on this one fucking insane test, to pass a college-level workload class, your brain tends to break things down into easily memorizable things and then add in all the "howevers" and the "buts" as necessary paper-padding. Plus when you're a teenager, you have a very different concept of time: everything is shorter-term and higher stakes this is a critical time in your life and everything is pressed together and you're young so 15 minutes is an eternity. Did you know I mentally memorized multiples of 60 to count down how many seconds were in a class? I did it for this particularly agonizing spanish class I was in. Our teacher would just talk in spanish and look at you expectantly. She wanted us to learn by immersion but immersion means nothing with no context. I am adrift in a sea of words whose latin roots I am struggling to catch hold of. 15 minutes is 900 seconds. Therefore 45 minutes is 2700 seconds. The class is 80 minutes. 4800 seconds... I've gotten sidetracked. What were we talking about?

Anyway, one time I cosplayed as Switzerland because I had a little green peacoat and a beret but it turns out we messed up the dates for our cosplay meeting so I was the only one dressed up but no one noticed because hey it was just a peacoat and beret in late winter. I was just being fashionable.

because people liked i walk the sewers of paris so much, here’s some director’s commentary! 

- its pretty commonly thought that spain was a pretty big asshole for most of history, and my fic is no exception. however, i think that he might’ve been a bigger asshole than usual in this time period for a couple different reasons. the biggest of those is because by this point, many of the spanish colonies in latin america had become independent. antonio is both a sore loser about this and very physically and mentally ill. his physical illness is due to the independence movements in latin america- although its unclear how, land represents body parts in hetalia, so i feel like he’s probably experiencing a lot of phantom pain type stuff during this point in time. he’s also not really coping with his own mortality in this fic. it’s kind of difficult to see because the fic is from romano’s pov, but spain is basically really scared that he’s going to die soon. he’s seen nations die before from getting stretched too thin, and seen empires collapse, and a whole lot more. and while the empire had been in decline for a long time, he’s very scared that he doesn’t have very much time left now due to most of the latin american colonies becoming independent in the earlier 19th century. what spain thinks he’s doing here is reaching out to romano, although he doesn’t really know how to do that without being a bit of an ass. he’s not used to asking in order to get what he wants, and especially with romano, a sort of harsher control is the only thing he can really think of to do. he thinks that not being in control of everything is what’s killing him, so he’s seeking out both the familiarity of romano’s presence and also the familiarity of controlling him and what he does. 

- romano in this is very much having an identity crisis. the way i see it is that before italian unification, there were a lot more nation avatars, like one for sardinia and piedmont and lombardy and all that. during unification, a lot of them just straight up fucking died. lorenzo and feliciano happened to be the ones that survived, partially by chance and partially because they happened to represent venice and sicily/naples. the by chance bit of it is what’s got lorenzo kind of fucked up in this part, and is also why he’s so close to vene in the future*, despite not really getting along with him. he’s very much still grieving in this, and doesn’t know what to do about the recent deaths of a lot of people he’d thought would never die. lorenzo is also sort of in the same boat as antonio where physical stuff is concerned, because he’s always been relatively young, physically, as a result of him being sort of always controlled by someone or something else. i’d put lorenzo’s physical age in this as about 18-22, where antonio’s physical age is more in his mid twenties. lorenzo has just very rapidly gone through a lot of body changes (i’d put him around 14 or 15 at the start of the 19th century? aging that much over 70 years doesnt sound like a lot but he has been 14 for hundreds of years, so. feels fast to him) in a short amount of time and is also sustaining worse injuries than he has before. he’s very scared about his mortality as well, but also still caught up in the hope of independence and his grief about his other lost family members. however, due to the wars that are currently happening, lorenzo is also struggling to let himself feel things, and not just focus on winning. that’s part of why 

- lorenzo would actually really like to take antonio up on hanging out together, because he too craves the familiarity and comfort, but the picture of him that antonio has in his head is inaccurate. they don’t know how to talk to each other as much anymore 

*when i say the future, i mean the future as portrayed in my writings. the sort of default settings for my hws fanfics/analysis is present day nationverse, so unless otherwise stated, all of it does take place in the same timeline. anyway i say all this to say that by ‘the future’ i mostly mean brother of mine

Lost my ns/fw AO3 crown to Mr Caju which you may think is something to mourn about but joke’s on you, I’m fine with people writing more fics than me. Come to mama sweet sweet fiction.

What inspired you this year? Any specific works or creators?

Brarg fanworks and hcs discussions and just overall fandom talk, seeing content is the best inspiration to create content ♥ So I guess we could sum it up by thanking @zu-art, @disaster-fruit, @brazilian-hot-mess and @sorvete-de-pacoca and @kaimaciel for keeping the brarg ball rolling througout the year, you guys rock ♥ Also, 2021 was a very brargy years sports-wise, we can always trust the real life brarg rivalry to bless us with inspiration.

What’s a piece you didn’t expect to make? Why?

Omegaverse, ngl. It’s nothing personal, I’ve even seen some abo that caters to my liking, but most of the time I just don’t enjoy its dynamic and universe.

What are you excited to work on next year?

I still have the Capri fic (i know it’s going slow but life gets in the way and I’m stil figuring it out ok), and I have a few AUs I’m looking forward to explore and expand ♥

15. if there’s a character for your nationality, do you think it’s a good representation?

There isn't a character lol, the only South American one is Ecuador I think. Honestly, it's a relief to not have a character for my country, but I've seen the Latin Hetalia characters and I'm quite happy that some creators think of Colombia as a woman.

¿Por qué hacer una semana dedicada al ArgMéx?

La verdadera pregunta es, ¿por qué no?

¡Hola a todos! Hoy estamos aquí para hablar sobre nuestra primera semana temática de la ship de Argentina/México en Latin Hetalia. La idea de esta semana ArgMéx (en cualquiera de sus combinaciones), ha estado presente desde hace unos años, posiblemente desde que se empezó a popularizar el asunto de hacer semanas temáticas en los fandoms, pero solo hace unos meses el tema se puso sobre la mesa.

Aunque somos pocas las personas que shippeamos esta pareja, aquí estamos. Esta primera semana ArgMéx de Latin Hetalia se llevará a cabo del 15 al 21 de septiembre, en todas y cada una de las plataformas en las que LH tiene presencia, y también aquellas en las que no. ¡Están invitados a participar!

Cabe aclarar que ésta no es una actividad oficial de la comunidad de Latin Hetalia; es decir, la administración no organiza esto. Solo somos un grupo de fans que queríamos tener, al fin, nuestra semanita temática.

Se te asignará una sección a trabajar junto con un personaje y tema. Haces el articulo/fanart y lo envías a la dirección indicada antes de la fecha límite. Mientras más secciones apliques y más personajes trabajes, más oportunidad de ser asignado. Puntos extra si trabajas personajes poco usados.  

 Juana, la última vez tardaste tanto que creíamos que te habías escapado a una isla tropical a beber piña colada en un hotel, ¿vas a tardar igual?

Nope, porque esta vez tengo a dos almas generosas con mejor computadora que la mía para darme una mano o cuatro: Cydalima y Blanze tienen un par de trucos bajo la manga que verán en esta edición.

 Me encantaría participar, pero no conozco muchos personajes, ¿Cómo le hago?

Las biografías de personajes te ayudaran con eso. Aparte de eso, la comunidad (Facebook, discord, la lista de gentes que hicimos acá en Tumblr) siempre está dispuesta a responder preguntas. Nunca dejen que la ignorancia los detenga, denle una paliza y prométanle que su familia es la siguiente.

Favourite fictional character: i'm gonna be very basic and go for hermione granger and luna lovegood. i know, these are like the most generic thing i could say but hp still remains the most Iconic book series to me, i was in 3rd grade, those characters had a MASSIVE emotional impact on my 9-year-old brain so i still care about them unlike with characters from other books and tv shows i consumed when i was older.. wait hOLD ON i will forever love tyrell wellick from mr robot. this guy. my Problematic Fave.

17. Favourite holiday: christmas because the asmophere of it feels nice and it's the first longer school break after 4 entire months of work so it's 1000 times better and when it ends you can expect winter holidays coming in 3 weeks or less.

18. Favourite MCU character: the only mcu movie i've ever watched was guardians of the galaxy so i can't really say anything on that matter because i don't know other characters

20 nice things of 2020

It wasn’t a very good year for anyone, but in the spirit of being positive let’s remember little details that qualify as cool, interesting or whatever. Since I use Tumblr for fandom and pop culture things, I’m focusing on that kind of thing

1) The best picture award of the Oscars is won for the first time in history by a non-english country. Thank you South Korea for representing the rest of the world and giving us hope.

2) The Frozen multilanguage presentation at the Oscars. As a fan of the dubbing industry I say it’s a big accomplishment. I was so proud of seeing our Elsa at the stage and I’m sure that people from the other countries were as well.

3) New dubbed opening and ending for Sakura and Rayearth in Latin America after 20-25 years. Sure this was a great year for CLAMP fans (for other reasons too).

4) Fan conventions become available for everyone regardless of the country. One good thing that came out of this pandemic was that events were forced to adapt into the virtual format. Thanks to this I was able to watch several conventions from countries like USA, Spain or Argentina that I could have never attended otherwise.

5) Old anime series returning. Personally, I was excited when Shaman King remake and Hetalia season 7 were announced. There’s also series like Inuyasha sequel, although I don’t follow that one.

6) The 60th Disney Animation Studios movie was revealed and it happens to be set in Colombia. I cannot wait. I’m always happy to see animated movies inspired by Latin America

7) Baby Yoda cereal. I know it was a cash-grab, but I gladly gave my money to Disney. It was actually worth it thou, because the thing is delicious. It has crunchy marshmallows that melt in your mouth.

8) Art museum challenge. It’s amazing to see how creativity blooms when in adversity. Plus it placed art on the public eye.

9) Disney Investor Day and the sh*t-ton of things they announced. I’m pumped for the Star Wars and the animation stuff.

10) Neopets TV series. I’m not sure if it was a rumor or what, but I was surprised to hear about that. If it is true, I hope it goes well. I think it has potential, since the game has its own lore with characters and everything.

11) Toonami is back in Latin America. Fans finally get their wish granted after so many years.

12) The drawings that children submitted for The Ickabog. They were gorgeous. Those kids are very talented, I’m a bit jealous hahaha.

13) The Saint Seiya meme where people made reference of each one of the temples as the months progressed. It was a clever way to make fun of this awful year.

14) Jumanji sequel. It was one of the few movies that I could watch in the cinema at the beginning of the year before disaster struck. I laughed a lot. When I contemplate it in retrospective, it’s like a cathartic experience inside the context of this hell of a year.

15) Vital Bracelet. I’ve been saying for years that Digimon doesn’t take advantage of the technology available, which is an irony, since it’s a franchise based on the virtual and digital. I’m glad they’re moving forward instead of being stuck in the same place.

16) Chilean animation is making progress. I’m particularly interested in El Libro de Nahuel and Carta Prat.

17) The Subtle Knife finally gets adapted to the screen. At last they made justice to the books. I love how they wrote Willyra relationship.

18) We finally have a concrete date for the Sailor Moon movies. I’ve been waiting like 5 years.

19) Spanish dub of one of the Tamers OVAs with some of the original voice actors. I had given up about the idea of these movies ever being dubbed, especially because some of them are dead or retired. It took me by surprise.

20) The Mandalorian becoming a piece of a greater puzzle. We had a lot of returning characters that are intertwining with Mando’s story. I’m curious about the several storylines introduced.
