What if the reason noncanon! Freelancer interrupts Lasko with kisses is because they worry he's talking too long between taking breaths? Like, yeah, he's an Air Elemental, he can keep talking forever and it won't hurt him. But that humanborn part of them just gets more nervous as they listen to him talk without taking a breath and the longer it goes, the more nervous they get and they kiss him because they can feel him inhale that little surprised gasp against their lips.

It's always nice to hear progress between Lasko and his listener !

Asking if they're okay, and that they're not offput by anything he did. I could cry.

Oh my gosh and he immediately jumps to reassure them that they're okay, and that it's perfectly rational to feel afraid of storms. Even if they're a Water Elemental. Because above their powers, and their connection to it, they're still a Human. How water is just One part of it, there's plenty of other things to be scared of-- wind, lightning, thunder.

He asks if it's okay to hug them, or if they'd rather not have touch at all. :(( Whispering that he truly means that they're incredible, even with their fears. Reminding them that no one gets to decide what they can be afraid of. Thanking them for sharing this part of them with him, and trusting him to see it and to help.

And he puts on music, letting them pick whatever they want to listen to, and offers to watch shows/movies as he wraps them in a blanket and discusses getting drinks and snacks and games. He's so delightful. What a guy. :') I hope his listener feels so loved, and i hope they get to relax !
