Birmingham: A Review

So gang, let me start off by saying that the only thing that gave me more life than seeing louis slay tonight was coming back and seeing the chicken wrapped in parma ham story like???? He would have to be living under a rock to not know that it's a well-established joke in the fandom. Anyway, I digress.

Seeing him come on and perform JHO was just so emotional. I managed to spot the family (Lottie and co.) up in the VIP booths at the back before the show, so to know that they and a part of the Louis fandom were looking on with such pride and love in our hearts was so so special. I'm so proud of our boy.

Another very interesting thing to note was that a lot of the aesthetic (clothes, display boards etc.) was extremely reminiscent of Oasis and other 90s Brit Pop/ Rock bands. Combine that aesthetic with Little Black Dress (which we all know is a Certified Bop anyway) and a slightly grittier version of JHO, and you have the father of the family in front of me say "he's pretty good this Louis, isn't he?" Yes, yes he is, nice man. Yes he is. Reminded me a lot of when white men suddenly realised Harry was super talented only when he moved into a more recognisable (read: masculine) genre of music. That isn't bad by any means, I only wish for Louis be as authentic and successful as possible, but it was very interesting to see those deliberate desicions and their effect.

So that was just a few of the things that I noticed from tonight. Various videos of dubious (shitty) quality are to follow, and now I'm going to bed :))))

Generate Mediabase requests for Back to You!!

Similar to my radio station tweet request generator (really need a better name for that that isn’t such a mouthful!), I now have a page that will help you automate/generate Mediabase requests.

There are 263 radio stations on the list (pulled from Mediabase’s site list of Hot AC and Top 40 monitored stations), and 91 of them have added BTY so far. The request will be correctly sent with either the free-form field or the radio button selected, depending on whether that station has added BTY. (I’ll try to check at least once or twice a day for updates there).

You’ll need to be doing this from a US ip/vpn. You can only submit a request to each radio station once a day.

oh, that is correct. i didn’t realise there were two separate events. so bebe and niall are performing at the daytime village and niall (and probably bebe too if she’s around anyway) are performing in the t-mobile arena on the same day!

it’s still odd though to publicly call out specific radio stations for doing it. or to like....harp on it or talk about it as much as he is. like calling out radio disney for wanting to have a word instead of a bleeped out version (when i can almost guarantee that’s a disney regulation based on their listener base) just.....seems very much like biting the hand that feeds. there are other things to talk about or engage fans with that can make you seems ~*~anti-industry/everyday-lad~*~ that won’t like....actively piss people off.

Requesting Back to You on the radio is super easy with the Radio Twitter Requests page, but what it could really use is a better list of stations and tweets! Even for the US, there are a few hundred monitored stations in the list that I don’t have Twitter accounts for yet. Other tweet text variations for English are very much appreciated too!

The site pulls directly from a spreadsheet, so it’s super easy to add entries. Here is the current list of stations and tweets I have.
