Somewhere amongst the crowded party, the boy Lara had brought along is asking where she’d run off to. They’d been together for all of five minutes before she’d grown distracted elsewhere - or more along the lines of by someone else. Beau’s face all but a beacon, lighting up Lara’s features in the most authentic way possible. She’d meant to just say hi, demand a game of beer pong later in the night, but saying hi turned into making each other drinks that were next to intolerable, turned into stepping into the backyard to chainsmoke - Lara didn’t even smoke as it was - turned into three beer pong games in a row. It’d been the most fun she’d had in weeks. Talking intimately on the stairs leading upstairs, Lara hadn’t even noticed when she’d all but been in Beau’s face, leaning in so close they were practically breathing the same air - she just wanted to admire. And he wasn’t pushing her away. She hadn’t even realized he’d stopped talking, like he was waiting for something, eyes trying to read her features. It suddenly became a race to see who’d move first, arm reaching to snake around his neck and hold him close, wanting more, until - “Um, Lara,” A girl she barely knew pulling on her shoulder, staring with wide eyed confusion, “Johnny’s been looking, like, everywhere for you, what’re you doing?” Moment squashed, face twisted into obvious distaste over the distraction, Lara waved her off, turned to Beau - uncaring, really, Johnny could bother someone else for the rest of the night, “Will you take me home? I don’t wanna go home with him, I wanna go home with you.”
