"Caleb!" They sob, Muse watches as he lurches deeper into the water towards the sirens and the rocks they'll probably kill him upon. "Caleb!!" the tiefling screams as the hands come to keep from joining him.

"He's a lost cause." the old ferryman is one of the many holding the tiefling back from edge of the water "there's no way to break that spell."

There had to be a way. They fumble pulling their harp to the front of them, strumming it. Maybe, just maybe.. But they'd have to do more than just strumming the thing. Plucking out a sad melody, interspersed with long strums through the cords, they think. They'd been writing some songs, none of them potent enough to out magic the magic making him wade closer to his death.

He nods, cocking his head to the side and grinning a little. One part about being a bard that surprised others was how much he liked hearing other peoples stories. One could talk to him for hours and only hear the basics about Killian, But Killian could learn everything from them. He lets out a small 'Oh' before rubbing the back of his neck, its not everyday people asked about his childhood.

"My Mother is nomadic, so we never really stayed in one place long enough to pick up anything accent wise." He chuckled. "We used to live in this Carriage house and only stay places longer than.. say three weeks when there was repairs being done or the weather wasn't cooperating."

“Oh, no. Well, not originally. I work here now. At the academy, on and off.” Caleb blushed at the flirtation, chuckling slightly at the other’s embarrassment. He was fairly well dressed. There was a humbleness about him that didn’t quite match the silvery vest he wore under a dark burgundy suit.

“I’m not much for singing, but thank you for the compliment. I grew up in the country, a little village in this area. So the accent…” He waved his hand, indicating why it would be so similar. “What about you?”

Very rarely do you get versions of the heroes that match the energy of the original in a different way, it works., and tell the same/similar story but different in some way

I criticize mainly the one’s that don’t work (Conceptual, Writing, Creative, Execution) reasons, but there are many that do work:.

I recommend those reads (Except My Hero, only cause Yagi isn’t the MC technically), the only one I didn’t get to yet is The Dark Knight Returns Sequel.

Finished Lady of The Lake (Witcher)

SPOILERS -- Im frustrated and confused with the ending, this isnt particularly complimentary.

And um, what the hell? Is this like a narnia afterlife situation? How did the horse end up in camelot, WHY camelot, why is Ciris future suddenly with this random knight? Why camelot? Am i supposed to be happy? I guess its independence but its not, its just a different world with different rules and politics and complications. I get that we're not doing happily ever after but like.

Kind of feels like the whole party died so the author didn't have to write endings for them. What did the unicorn even achieve, Ciri doesnt need him to travel.

Also a thing thats bothered me the whole time, why is everyone stuck on ciris theoretical future children, why is SHE not destined one? Why is everyone trying to get her pregnant at 16?? Ive never seen a story where the male protagonist has to have kids to secure a prophecy and everyones throwing wives at him. And i dont like the implication after all that that ciris gonna end up with galahad. She should be a lesbian. She cannot be the only descendant of the elder blood, and what were the elves even isolating those genes for?? What was the point of lara? There was no saving the world from politicking or future climate catastrophe.

Its already not a happy ending bc everyone is dead. It just feels like sapkowski didnt really know how to finish things? Lets just throw in some big fights ok now what let everyone noodle around uh guess Ill kill them off now ok. Ciri doesnt even get to grow up. Cahiras scary and significant and then he's just The Fighty Guy of the party, no more complexity there.

And what the fuck is with emhyr and his incest plan? Why does everyone want to fuck ciri including her father?? "The child o sore will be important" YOUR DAUGHTER IS YOUR CHILD BUCKO and then he just lets her go and didnt leave anyone with a knife for Yen and Geralt because why??

Honestly the sexual violence, the fact that every woman is always "provocative" and we always gotta mention their cleavage and fuckability, its so incredibly gross. Especially with everyone wanting to fuck or impregnate ciri. Who is confirmed to be a minor in-world.

Obviously I found the story compelling enough to keep reading multiple books but all these cool concepts just were not executed through. Just an entire book of everyone trying to fuck a child instead of literally anything else. The villain deaths werent satisfying. The protagonist deaths were cheap. I dont remember who the fuck caleb whoever was or half the people referred to in the last quarter of the book even though ive been reading these books fairly close together.

I kind of hope the show does things better but who knows with cavill leaving.

Knowing (2009)

Knowing will have you sweating while asking "What’s coming next?" Its mystery is the kind that pushes away everything else and makes you focus solely on the film. The performances are strong and the ending is the kind you won’t forget… but it will split audiences. If you’re not on board with that wrap-up, you’ll dismiss the film entirely. I say it was the only way it COULD end and applaud the film for sticking to its guns.

In 2009, Caleb Koestler (Chandler Canterbury) opens a time capsule and finds a sheet filled with numbers - nothing like the drawings of what the future might be like that his classmates receive. His father, John (Nicolas Cage), realizes the numbers are dates and death tolls corresponding with major disasters over the past 50 years. Rapidly becoming obsessed with who wrote them and how they could’ve possibly come up with these numbers, he investigates.

What’s so compelling about Knowing is the sheet of numbers. The more you learn about it, the more you want to know. At first, you wonder what they mean. We see young Lucinda Embry write them down and it’s a whole lot of weird behavior when she does. Then, John discovers the numbers match up with dates and deaths, but he can't decipher some of the numbers. What do they mean? Could he be interpreting it wrong? He must be if some don’t mean anything but what if he just hasn’t figured out all the mysteries yet? How will he find the answers? Finding Lucinda Embry is the most likely way to do it but where could she be? It’s been 50 years. She could be anywhere! Wait. Did these numbers fall into John's lap by accident, or has this whole thing been part of a grander plan? If a little girl fifty years ago could predict the future, nothing out of the realm of possibility.

You understand John’s obsession with finding out, particularly when strangers appear around their home. Your initial thought is “aliens” but also supernatural/divine beings. You’ll go back and forth on those concepts throughout the two-hour running time. Eventually, John connects with Diana (Rose Byrne), Lucinda’s estranged daughter. She has a daughter of her own, Abby (Lara Robinson, who also plays the ‘50s version of Lucinda). Their meeting opens you up to another possibility. Maybe the greater plan… is a meet cute? Like, are John and Diana are supposed to fall in love? No way. That’d be too crazy, even for this movie. Or is it? You don’t know. No. Probably not, actually. There are too many scary scenes for this to all end in a “we’re in love now!” sentiment.

Let’s discuss the ending now - without spoiling anything. As the film progresses, the signs point to these numbers meaning something big, so big that unless it’s a giant coincidence, it’s got to be part of some supernatural/extraterrestrial entity’s plan. If it is, this doesn’t seem to be the most logical way to get things done. There’s a lot in this movie that you’d generously describe as “cryptic”. The weirdos pursuing the Koestlers, for example. If they’re benevolent, why don’t they just come up and clearly explain what’s happening? If they’re sinister, this is an elaborate way to get their jollies ruffled - if you know what I mean. Unless this is all part of some big test (but why would it be?) there’s got to be something evil afoot. It certainly feels like it because Knowing is frequently scary.

All of the mysteries in Knowing are leading somewhere. Even if you "have no idea", a part of you will have a theory. If your guesses are true, would that be a good thing? Or would you think that’s kind of a dumb solution? For me, it seemed like the movie could only end one way. When it did, that meant it lived up to my expectations. I know that for most people, that’s not the case. I can’t say if you’ll be satisfied with the conclusion. Even if you are, some elements of the story don’t add up. If I were to guess, I’d say you probably won’t be happy with the end results, but I enjoyed Knowing enough that I think it’s worth taking a chance. Love it or hate it, the conclusion is not one you'll ever forget. (April 25, 2024)

𝐇𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐃𝐄.

Após sua transformação, Amber descobriu ter herdado a habilidade de Dominação,  também conhecido como o ato de manipular ações, pensamentos e vontades de terceiros. À princípio, o rapaz apresentou bastante resistência no uso de seu poder, uma vez que, sendo mais conectado com seu lado humano do que o normal para um vampiro, ele manifestava diversas amarras éticas para usar livremente a manipulação de ações e pensamentos.

Com o tempo, porém, Amber passou a entender que ceder aos instintos e usar suas habilidades era uma questão de sobrevivência e de aceitação de sua nova condição. Assim, o jovem vampiro começou a usar da Dominação sempre que fosse necessário, rapidamente desenvolvendo uma afinidade com a habilidade ao perceber que um sentimento de deleite o tomava ao ser obedecido ou ao ver as coisas simplesmente se desenrolando a seu favor. Às vezes a sensação o assusta, contudo, a essa altura o Hofer acredita que existem coisas com as quais não vale a pena lutar e é melhor simplesmente abraçar — com toda a intenção do trocadilho — certos aspectos de sua natureza, de forma que, atualmente, ele possui um bom controle e até certo talento para usar a habilidade.

𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐓𝐀.

Inicialmente, Amber considerou alimentar-se apenas de animais, uma vez que a perspectiva de encarar humanos como ração ou gado nunca ressoou em seu — agora obsoleto — coração. No entanto, o rapaz era providenciado com bolsas de sangue em seu período de adaptação, de forma que atualmente ele evita a opção animal, desenvolvendo um certo paladar seletivo. Em outras palavras, ele só é fresco. 

Apesar disso, Amber nunca mordeu um humano, saciando sua fome direto da fonte, pois as conexões que ainda possui com o mundo mundano o levam a ter certa aversão ao ato, especialmente se observado do ponto de vista de sua Seita, que prega a visão da existência humana apenas como alimento para sua espécie. A única maneira que ele vê isso acontecendo seria se um humano oferecesse o sangue para ele de bom grado, algo que não aconteceu até hoje, visto que o rapaz não é conhecido por estabelecer relações profundas ou duradouras, preferindo manter uma distância segura especificamente de humanos. 

Por ação do destino que, quem sabe, decidiu ser um pouco mais gentil com o vampiro recém-transformado na época, a mãe de Amber trabalhava no hospital de Eden como enfermeira antes de se aposentar, de forma que o rapaz estabeleceu conexões através dela com as quais consegue bolsas de sangue até hoje. É claro que essas conexões não necessariamente sabem que casualmente entregaram uma bolsa de sangue ao Hofer, visto que é nesse tipo de situação que ele costuma usar sua habilidade, manipulando discretamente ações e pensamentos, afinal, basta que as bolsas sejam casualmente esquecidas ou deixadas em um local conveniente para que ele possa coletá-las.

𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐀.

Quem vê Amber — um charmoso e elegante cavalheiro moderno — andando pelas ruas de Old Town não imagina o amargurado coração que ele carrega ou os segredos que ele esconde por trás de seus pequenos sorrisos e gestos de gentileza. Diga-se de passagem, há quem diga que os olhos frios e todo o tom distante e misterioso é a cereja do bolo, o molho, o “je ne sais quoi” da aura que o rapaz emite e, consequentemente, o que o torna mais interessante e atraente. Um verdadeiro pesadelo para alguém que só deseja ser deixado em paz. Mas eu estou me adiantando, vamos voltar alguns anos para entender melhor a história desse garoto, especificamente, vamos retornar cinquenta anos atrás, quando Amber era apenas um bebezinho humano e inocente.

Amber Filip Hofer nasceu em 1973 na Transilvânia, fruto de um relacionamento entre uma universitária recém formada e um professor. Lisa Hofer era muito mais nova que o pai de seu filho e uma romântica incurável, embora nutrisse sentimentos genuínos pelo homem, não era correspondida. Mihai costumava cortejar suas alunas em segredo, mas era casado e tinha uma reputação a zelar, quaisquer juras de amor que fizera à aluna no passado permaneceria dessa maneira: no passado. No fim, Lisa foi enganada por um homem que a deixou sozinha e desempregada para criar um filho, enchendo sua conta bancária com toda a quantia necessária para comprar seu silêncio. Ela poderia ter sido mais orgulhosa e recusado o dinheiro, contudo, em sua perspectiva, o mínimo que aquele canalha poderia fazer era dar-lhe condições de proporcionar uma vida digna para aquela criança, à qual amava inimaginavelmente. 

Lisa cortou todo e qualquer contato com Mihai e alugou um pequeno apartamento, onde passou a criar o filho sozinha após conseguir um emprego como enfermeira. Apesar da falta de uma figura paterna, Amber tinha uma vida feliz, com uma mãe carinhosa que ensinou-lhe o valor por trás de pequenos atos de gentileza. Em seu pequeno lar, ela lia histórias sobre heróis e cavaleiros para o menino, que ficava encantado quando o protagonista triunfava sobre o grande vilão. Quando criança, Amber era obcecado por histórias de cavaleiros medievais, possuindo uma pequena coleção de cavaleiros feitos de massinha — e confeccionados por ele mesmo — talvez tenha sido por isso que seu interesse por história eventualmente aflorou, fazendo com que decidisse ser historiador. 

Era uma vida simples, mas satisfatória, na qual o garoto não desejava por mais nada a não ser, talvez, pela presença de um pai. Conforme crescia, as perguntas sobre o progenitor começaram a ficar mais constantes e insistentes e Lisa não tinha respostas satisfatórias para dar ao menino. Inicialmente, a mulher imaginou que ela fosse o suficiente para cuidar da criança, mas, como a ausência do pai parecia ser importante para Amber, ela decidiu remediar essa situação. E foi aí que os problemas começaram. 

O primeiro padrasto veio quando Amber tinha oito anos e foi o menos ruim. Não ajudava em casa, gastava todo o dinheiro que ganhava em bebida e passava metade do dia xingando o menino ou mandando-o buscar mais cerveja. Pelo menos, a extensão de seu mau-caratismo parava aí e, normalmente, após estar completamente encharcado de álcool, o homem adormecia até o dia seguinte. O segundo veio cinco anos depois e era bem mais complicado que o primeiro, pois além do vício em apostas — que fazia com que gastasse todo o dinheiro de Lisa em jogos —, tinha o costume de agredir Amber sempre que o rapaz o desagradava, algo que se tornou constante, uma vez que o garoto não suportava nenhuma ofensa à ele ou à mãe em silêncio. Esse padrasto não durou tanto e, por um tempo, voltaram a morar apenas Lisa e Amber em seu pequeno apartamento. 

Parecia que as coisas tinham voltado aos eixos, Amber estava completando dezessete anos e estava prestes a entrar na faculdade quando Lisa decidiu tentar uma terceira vez. Àquele ponto, já não era mais sobre propiciar uma figura paterna ao filho — que estava crescido e já estava cansado de homens estragando a vida de sua mãe — era sobre Lisa encontrar alguém que verdadeiramente a amasse. Parecia que não importava o quanto tentasse, ela não tinha sorte no amor, ou melhor, não conseguia encontrar sua alma gêmea, portanto, pediu ao filho que desse uma chance ao terceiro padrasto. Ele não era alcoólatra, nem viciado em jogos e também não batia em Amber, mas agredia Lisa constantemente. Depois, fingia culpa, pedia perdão, chorava, dizia que a amava e a convencia de que ela havia o forçado a fazer aquilo.  O homem aproveitava para fazer isso quando Amber não estava em casa e tinha saído com os amigos ou para a escola, preparar-se para o ingresso na faculdade. Quando o rapaz chegava em casa, o grosso do problema já tinha passado, entretanto, sua mãe não podia esconder os hematomas para sempre, tampouco convencer-lhe de que tudo estava bem somente porque seu padrasto se comportava bem na sua frente. 

Um dia, Amber pegou o homem no ato, enquanto agredia a mãe, e nunca sentiu tanta raiva em sua vida. Quando deu por si, já estava feito: quebrou uma garrafa de vinho cheia na cabeça do homem que, imediatamente, caiu no chão, a cabeça sangrando um rio. Estava morto? Não sabia, mas esperava que sim. Desejava que sim. Quer dizer, talvez não devesse desejar isso. De qualquer modo, Lisa caiu em desespero certa de que, se o homem acordasse, mataria Amber e, se permanecesse de olhos fechados, tornaria o filho um assassino. Movida pelo pânico e pelo desejo de proteger sua criança, pegou todas as economias e entrou em contato com uma velha amiga, que tinha mudado-se para os Estados Unidos há algum tempo e pareceu melhorar de vida em uma pequena cidade. 

Assim, Amber mudou-se com a mãe para Eden, onde estabeleceram-se na lado leste da cidade, a área na qual a amiga de Lisa morava. Amber achava a cidade estranha por algum motivo, mas não a odiava, especialmente pela forma como sua mãe parecia estar entretida com seu novo trabalho no hospital. O rapaz então passou a se concentrar em seus estudos com menos preocupações, passando também a dedicar-se mais a alguns de seus hobbies, como pintura e escultura. Conforme os anos passavam, Amber tentava apenas viver sua vida, sem chamar atenção, entretanto, sem querer, acabava fazendo o oposto. Veja bem, um historiador romeno com respaldo acadêmico e que trabalha com restaurações dificilmente passa despercebido por Old Town, onde a História praticamente cria pernas e sai andando pelas ruas. Não apenas isso, ele tinha uma elegância e erudição que praticamente pertencia aos Tzimisce, ou pelo menos eles assim passaram a pensar, especialmente depois que o rapaz passou a ser chamado para trabalhar na preservação e restauração de determinadas partes do hotel de Vlad. 

Por mais que o Hofer tivesse concepções risíveis sobre a humanidade, nutrindo certa admiração pela espécie devido a sua resiliência, inventividade e capacidade de compaixão, os Tzimisce decidiram fazer uma aposta: por quanto tempo ele pensaria assim uma vez que tivesse provado do doce sabor da imortalidade? Uma vez que fosse superior a todos eles? Porque eles podiam praticamente sentir toda a tristeza e a raiva engarrafada vibrando por trás daqueles olhos gelados. Foi apenas uma questão de tempo até que o Abraço de Amber acontecesse, forçando-o a sumir por cerca de um ano enquanto se adaptava à sua nova condição. Durante esse período, o jovem manteve contato com a mãe através de cartas, nas quais dizia estar viajando. O endereço do remetente sempre constava algum lugar distante, mas a verdade era que ele normalmente estava a apenas alguns minutos de distância, escondido em algum recanto do hotel Paradisus, onde consultava Vlad sempre que possível sobre as origens do clã, motivado por sua incurável curiosidade de historiador. 

Quando retornou ao mundo, Amber compreendeu a aposta que os Tzimisce fizeram, afinal, ele era uma criatura sedenta por sangue humano irremediavelmente mergulhado naquele mundo mundano. Sua mãe era uma mulher humana, com a qual convivia diariamente e provavelmente preferiria morrer a machucá-la, sua profissão consistia em estudar a história humana e, por vezes, ensiná-la para outros humanos. Ele precisaria de um autocontrole enorme para ir contra sua natureza. Infelizmente, para os Tzimisce, eles, de fato, estavam corretos sobre seu pertencimento ao clã, uma vez que sua tenacidade era capaz de rivalizar com o vampiro mais experiente. Amber tinha um ponto a provar, ainda que de forma discreta, e teria sua vitória pessoal ao não se curvar diante de todos os ideais do Sabat. Ele não tem a intenção de rivalizar seu clã ou Vlad, até mesmo por ter desenvolvido respeito pelo líder e por seu apego às tradições, mas certamente não tem medo de ter seus próprios ideais e seu código de honra pessoal.  A “besta interior” pode não ser contida, mas, da mesma forma que a luz não existe sem a escuridão, ela não pode existir sem a humanidade que restou dentro dele. Ou assim ele acredita, uma visão ingênua para vampiros mais velhos, no entanto, que certamente merece ser observada, afinal, não se sabe quantas pessoas Amber seria capaz de convencer com seu charme e lábia.

Por enquanto, Amber só quer viver sua vida da maneira mais simples e solitária possível, lendo livros, fazendo restaurações e cuidando de sua mãe, que já se tornou uma senhora aposentada enquanto, em contrapartida, ele permanece imutável. Seus planos, porém, parecem prestes a ser arruinados a qualquer minuto pelo atual estado do mundo vampírico. Honestamente, Amber acredita que todo vampiro é tão bosta quanto o pior dos seres humanos e não se importaria de ver todos eles em chamas, contudo, ele gostaria de permanecer bem vivo por trás da segurança da Máscara pelo menos até sua amada mãezinha ir bater um papo com Deus, então ele espera que a sociedade vampírica tenha a elegância de aguardar isso acontecer antes de entrar em completo caos e decadência.

Chapter 38

That Iryo/Boros conversation was gold, it’s just so good i don’t even know what to say. Boros still very uncomfortable as fuck around Iryo, wanting him to get out of his room(he’s so cute oh god), but Iryo just staying there. Listening. Staring Boros down with that red, red eye of his. And i loved how for Iryo, that vision he kept seeing basically led him to his doom. Like, i didn’t think of it that way, Boros hasn’t either, but for Iryo, what he said was true. Exodia was the catalyst of his failure. And it was the vision that led him to it.

‘,,But it helped you, too,” Boros points out, all discomfort of talking to Iryo gone – and replaced by the unnerving unknown of what appears to be their mutual stalker.

,,It did. It led me to you.”

A pause.

,,And what happened then?”

Iryo’s voice is cold. Freezing, even.’

I got chills reading this. It seems like such a clever twist of pov for the reader like myself, who only thought of Boros’ perspective. I just love this so much. And then right after Iryo mentions Zael himself.

Look, whenever Iryo even says ‘him’ I die. So this scene was just a continuity of emotional blows for me. It was perfect. I wanna scream. I really can’t put into words how good this conversation was. Just read the fic and you will understand.

Elazar is the cutest character in DM. No I will not take any arguments.

He’s cute, he’s tiny, he’s adorable, and I haven’t even gotten to his personality yet. Why is he so passionate about everything. And so normal. He’s just a regular guy that can get hurt pretty easily and that is so endearing. Why must you be such a babygirl professor. And you put that next to Einaros. Einaros. Probably the horniest motherfucker in the fic(barring Caleb), a total badass, tall, intimidating, and just exudes dominance- i don’t know what you expect me to do Lara they were made to be shipped.

‘,,Take a final look at the pretty pictures if you want – we’ll fly back to Atlas, and you’ll work on your theories or whatever while I’ll try to find out where the pirates are.”

As Einaros expects, Elazar takes his suggestion literally. He turns to the murals, looking at them one by one, spending the most time staring at the picture of the strange creature.’

I might die.

And the fight. THE FIGHT.

Are you KIDDING me why was that so good.

‘He flies out on the other side covered in bits of blood and flesh, and releases a burst of heat that evaporates all of it away in the span of mere seconds.’

This is the coolest fucking thing ever. I was bouncing on my seat reading this whole scene it was so COOL. I was blown away with how much this scene slapped.

‘Einaros changes the flow of his stellar force again – directing it as if he were conducting an orchestra-‘

I have to sit here for a few moments just to appreciate how every line in this scene is a line to marvel at.

And I dunno if I’ve mentioned this before, but the action sequences involving the Xar in this fic is phenomenal. There’s no other way to put it than to say it’s perfect. Because in the anime, everything’s all flashy and quick and you can only appreciate the magnitude of what’s going on when you really think about it. But with this fic, you truly understand the destructive force of every hit these monsters deliver. Like the way the sand crystalizes into glass with the heat. The body parts evaporating. The wind whistling. And to top it off, a recount of what happened from a regular person’s perspective. And he didn’t even see it. I’ve seen a few action sequences in fics, and none of them come even close to what DM delivers. It’s perfection.

I already had this chapter on my top three favorite chapters in DM, even before the fight, but then the ending comes out of nowhere to make sure i’m really dead.

There’s so much to say about the ending but really, and I keep saying this, but the best thing is to just read it. Just read that scene and you’ll see, how difficult it is to articulate what it made me feel.

If I say all the stuff I wanna say this is going to take forever so again, I’ll keep it super short and just make a list of things that killed me.

Einaros and Zael’s interaction.

-‘Crazy little dude but really entertaining. You’d hate him.’ (That ‘you’d hate him’. It shows Einaros knows Zael so well and I can’t get over this)

-‘Surprisingly, Zael feels himself gradually relaxing.’ (I must scream)

-‘it’s been a quality of his brother’s that’s been familiar to Zael since their earliest childhood days.’ (I must scream)

-‘Contemplating thoughts that he  kept locked behind some very expertly reinforced doors of his mindscape.’(this fucking man)

I just realized that I want to copy paste literally ALL of the lines from after this and that would not be a good idea.

Zael asking who Einaros met. I’m really not kidding when I say I was shocked, and so very emotional when I read this. It really was like getting hit in the head.

And everything that comes after. I am also realizing that no, I’m still not calm about this to write a coherent review about it. Not sure if I ever will be. I can only say that it was the most emotionally painful thing to read only second to that flashback for the brothers.

I really, really love Zael. He’s one of my all time favorite characters in all the fandoms I’ve been in. I don’t draw him much so it might not show most of the time but it’s true. So seeing him like this, this character that’s supposed to be strong and scary and antagonistic, it’s absolutely heartbreaking. In the best fucking way of course.

So along with this new development for Zael this chapter ends, having thoroughly beaten me though this rollercoaster of a ride.

I will remember this chapter for months and months.
