Hi I'm Lani! I go by she/they. Sometimes I draw, but I mainly write fanfics. (I've recently gotten back into writing PJO fics).

out of curiosity, which voice actors do you hear in your head when you read certain characters' dialogue? (eg: i personally hear shadow's voice as ian hanlin's from sonic prime!)

Sonic and Shadow are both Jason Griffith to me any time I write their dialogue. He's iconic for me, y'know? For Sonic in particular, it's like a combo of Jason's Sonic Unleashed/SATBK performance and his Sonic X performance when he was doing some kinda light Bugs Bunny New Yorker thing with his voice.

Any time I'm writing Sonic he's got that nuance in the acting but also he's like, i dunno,

"Whatcha talkin' about, Shadow? Y'mean we've been goin' around killing folks? Stop joking around, huh! Ain't no way I'd do somethin' like that!"* *Not real Infested dialogue

Whereas with Rouge, I actually end up hearing Lani Minella. She's Rouge to me. Plus her voice seems, i dunno, the most fitting for an 18-year-old? More than Kathleen Delaney anyway (no offense to Kathleen Delaney).

If I had the money for it I'd buy a cameo from Jason to voice a comic page in a heartbeat. Like one where it's just Sonic and Shadow. Like page 2-2.

TELL ME ALL ABOUT THE WORSE BOOKS YOU HAD READ!

Did you… just… awaken my deepest rage?

(forgive me for being a bit ooc, but I simply must for things like this)

A LIST OF TERRIBLE BOOKS I READ:

Handbook for Mortals by Lani Sarem was one of the first bad books I wanted to read so long ago simply because it was the number one thing people in the book community were talking about. It got taken off the Bestsellers list within 24 hours because the company behind the book was buying bulk copies to make it number one. The writing is cheesy, and there are too many characters you will not care about, plus the protagonist is unrelatable and annoying.

All of the Onision books. Well, specifically, I heard someone read them since I did not want to actually own those dreaded books. I cannot fathom how these three books of his clearly reflect the twisted author. They all boil down to being about a male character believing the world is out to get them when, in actuality, it is just the author’s strange power fantasy ranging from beating up and/or killing characters who wronged him to having sex with women because it is a man’s human nature to breed? It’s all very strange and it’s only scratching the surface.

The “poetry books” of Gabbie Hanna. Critiques of the author aside, her poetry is essentially the equivalent of what I would have written at the age of 12. I bought used versions of the books because my brother and I wanted to read, laugh, and cry at just how unfinished and empty the poetry is. I remade two of them, and maybe someday I want to recreate all of them as a little writing challenge, hehe. Not to say these books were bad, but they were such wasted potential of what could have been.

Lastly, The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku, a light novel adaptation of an iconic Hatsune Miku song…

I CANNOT FATHOM THE DISAPPOINTMENT AND BITTER HATRED I HAVE WITH HIS BOOK! This needs to be a separate post because THIS BOOK is why look at reviews before buying them now. Long story short, it is a strange “love story” with unlikable and boring characters and a very broken plot, and the only one you will care for is Miku, who doesn't deserve to be in this story.

I even made annotations on it. I only do that with books I need to write an essay on…

Honorable mention:

After by Anna Todd. I read the original version of it soooooo long ago and was uninterested in reading the rest of it. Finding out it became and actually published work shocks me because somehow, I heard it was a lot worse than I thought. I refuse to read the rest of it to this day.
