Honestly, if Nico had actually wanted to keep the truth from ever seeing the light of day, he shouldn’t have forgotten one of the most important components of lying: tying up loose ends.

But he did. An amateur move, but really, he only had himself to blame.

“Guys, can we not do this first thing in the mornin’?” asked Will. He took the unoccupied seat to Nico’s right, leaning against him with an exhausted slump. He was probably exhausted from the incident the day before that involved mechanical spiders, the Athena Cabin, and many injuries caused by sharp flying projectiles, but Nico could only notice the warmth of his body that did things to his heart.

It made it very hard for him to focus on braiding Gracie’s hair. She was the recent addition to the Cabin Seven who had, for some reason, taken one look at Nico and designated him as her unofficial hairstylist. Every day at breakfast, she would stubbornly sit next to him, silently holding a pink plastic brush in front of his face until he eventually caved.

Gods he was the Ghost King. Slayer of monsters. Son of Hades. So why was he so weak just because her wide eyes were the same blue as Will’s?

One of Nicos love languages is acts of service and goes out of his way constantly to learn how to do things for the ones closest to him.

Example one: he goes to Annabeth and asks her to teach him how to braid and take care of type four hair so that he can help Hazel do her hair whenever she comes to visit. (He ends up being really good at it and learns how to do a bunch of different styles and occasionally he'll have other people in camp asking him to do their hair and he finds he actually quite enjoys it)

Example two: he goes to Kayla and Austin and asks them to teach him ASL so that he can communicate with Will even when Will is not using his hearing aids. (They recommend that he learn more from an actual deaf person so they teach him some basic greeting signs and he learns the rest from Will) (Will absolutely lights up when Nico signs to him for the first time)

Kinda reversed example: he finds out that Jason never learned how to cook (because he lived at Camp Jupiter his whole life) and would like to learn, so him and Leo teach him how to. (It's a long and very VERY messy process in which they are all covered in a variety of ingredients, but Jason only exploded one toaster and set two fires so they're calling it a success).

Solangelo/Valgrace headcanon that if you leave Will and Leo talking together long enough their Texan accents develop so much that they basically start speaking in their own language.

They’re chatting one day and Jason walks up to them but Nico just tackles him to the side and hisses “Don’t you dare interrupt them. Just listen.” And he does and then his heart just goes ajbrkhjabkrabfkbkj`bjb.

They become a tag team, trying to get Will and Leo in situations where they’re having long conversations with each other close enough for Nico and Jason to eavesdrop. They love their boyfriends’ southern accents so much and they just want to hear them. I think they’ve figured it out, though, because they’ve started over-exaggerating it just to mess with them. When Jason finally confesses, Leo thinks it’s hilarious. Will admits that he’s been trying to make Nico speak Italian for weeks now.

solangelo headcanons part 3 since i left hospital and rest at home now

It’s Will who pays for all the streaming platforms. Nico is parasite #1.

Nico is not good at technology obviously so he sometimes ends up watching things from Will’s profile. And then Will wonders why italian pops up as default language when he starts watching some movie or show.

Both of them never had to care about money. That’s why they live in fanciest apartment at New Rome University.

They have a strong cds and vinyl collection there. Mainly rock, indie and metalcore bands and singers. + Taemin

Nico got mad when he realized the surname Solace comes from french. That’s very italian of him to get mad because of something like this.

Then he decided he would never take Willam’s last name.

Some Florence + the Machine songs are actually Naomi Solace biggest hits in pjo universe.

Naomi Solace is actually Florence + the Machine but american and country. They share the same voice at least.

Nico knew some Naomi’s songs before the days in infirmary.

Before Solangelo started dating, Piper and Hazel were trying to find out who Nico was looking at, since his eyes were always on cabin 7 campers.

Nico and Chiara Benvenuti gossip a lot.

When Nico has episodes of feeling really bad mentally (for example around anniversaries of his loved ones deaths, but it can happen any time), he shows up at infirmary a few times per day just to hug Will or be in the same room with him. Will also checks on him whenever he can.

When they visit Camp Jupiter, they are given bunk bed, but sleep together on the bottom single bed anyway.

In all honesty, it was really for the best that Will didn’t think about all the strange things that sometimes happened around him. After all, his mama had more than enough on her plate already. He was a good kid, and it was best everything stayed as it were. (Though admittedly, the flock of flesh-eating maniac pigeons, men with hooves, and the growing darkness in his veins might just make this a tiny bit more difficult than he anticipated) or: will can only push down a part of him for so long (will has plague powers, but he's known it from the very start.)

UPDATE WHEN UPDATE WHEN UPDATE WHEN REESE PLEASE 😭😭i am genuinely so obsessed with this fic and the WAY everything is woven together....like fear is a driving force!! you can feel it!! this is one of those starred fics fr bc it Changed the way i wrote and characterized will. he is fr a character who has been controlled by fear his Whole life actually. of the world and what it takes from him. of the Fates that do not care for your fragile love. of the things they are forced to do. of the precarity of life. and perhaps most intimately and ardently Himself, and the abilities he does not want to have, the life he does not want to live. the parts of himself that do not fit in the mold he has Built for himself and Forced himself into. and this fic shows that so so beautifully like this story is Woven.....i think about it literally all the time it's insane

Stop laughing – why the hell are you laughing?” He’d mostly been laughing because of Nico’s expression – eyebrows drawn tight, mouth twisted in an adorable scowl – but also because of the sudden elation pumped into him like helium. They were best friends – and maybe someone else would be hopeful for more, and maybe one day he'll pursue it (he did want it, had wanted it for a long time) but for now, he’s content where they are, sitting in Nico’s room and cursing at each other through a deck of cards. or: 5+1 of will solace being a pining loser

Was reminded of Soldezangelo so here are some HCs!!

- They're all Trans guys!

- Naomi loves both of them very much! They both cried when they got back in the car the first time they met her.

- Nico sleeps all the time so they have to drag him out if bed a lot.

- Will and Leo, however, stay up for days. The difference is when Wills head hits the pillows hes out like a light (pun intended) but Leo struggles to fall asleep for hours.

- Of course there's the nightmares and the scars and the comforting part of it.

- Leos love language is gift giving. He loves making them little trinkets or meals he knows they'll love and they buy him things he loves!

- Wills is words of affirmation! He needs the praise a lot and he knows the other 2 need it and they very much appreciate it!

- Nicos is physical touch but only with the people he loves. They could cuddle all day every day no matter how embarrassing he thinks it is.

- Nico and Will were a couple before Leo joined. Nico and Leo were close on the Argo and Will helped him a lot after the war so they got closer. Leo told them one day he liked both of them and it was fine if they didn't feel the same he just really needed to get it off his chest.

- That's when Solangelo talked about it and were both overjoyed when they found out they both liked him and he could join them. Leo was overjoyed the next day when they told him.

I’m so sorry you had to wait so long! I basically spent ages to staring at a wall trying to think up my best ones. So, here you go @hazellevessque!

As soon as Will found out Nico spoke Italian, he immediately went and learned some, and then surprised him

Or, Will speaks Italian because it’s the language of music (just like Piper can speak French because it’s the language of love), and Nico was ranting about losing Capture the Flag to Clarisse. 

He was speaking rapid fire Italian, and Will just came over, and said: "Va tutto bene, amore mio. Calmati. Unisciti alla prossima volta?”

(“It’s okay, my love. Calm down. Team up next time?”)

Nico didn’t know how to ask Will out so he just came up to him and said “Me. You. Tonight. At seven. Be there” and left. 

Will just stood there looking stunned, then went back to his cabin and partied.

When Will and Nico adopted their first baby girl (pretty sure this is canon, but I don’t know), they called her Bianca Di Angelo-Solace

Will and Nico both had playlists dedicated to each other and never found out until they were well into the relationship (credit to @a-headcanon-a-day)

Will, as child of Apollo, is as scared of snakes as children of Athena are scared of spiders. He absolutely PANICS.

Nico is very protective of his boyfriend and his instincts always make him grab Will or cover Will with his body whenever some danger occurs. (credit to @nicodisigma)

Will would totally initiate random lightsaber fights. Like he would attack his siblings all the time just...out of nowhere (it's the ADHD).

Kayla would roll her eyes and threaten to snap the saber in half. Austin would play along and fall to the floor and dramatically die.

But the first person to actually fight back was Nico, who secretly has his own lightsaber hidden in the shadows. And he would disarm Will in some sort of fancy move that would leave Will stuttering and blushing because it was hot.

Let's talk about the first solangelo kiss

I'll admit i didn't love it when i first read it and i'm still not particulary fond of it but it makes sense! And i understand why oshiro and riordan wrote it that way.

While i don't love romantic scenes like kisses after or during moment of extreme emotional pain i can see why Will did what he did.

First of all, Will is a little bit more than a kid so i don't except him to have all the answers and to know how to deal with everything in life, many people even adults tend to offer physical touch as comfort in situation of distress even if sometimes can make it worst, most importantly Will apologizes right afrer proving he understood what he did was wrong and impulsive, he made a mistake and learned from it like every human being ever

Second of all, Will is a healer who heals people with touch, in a moment where he clearly doesn't know what to do it's pretty noramal to think he would try to heal emotional wounds by touch too cause that's what he knows, that's what he's been thought to do

Third of all the reason why it doesn't annoy me that much it's cause for the rest of the book is shown how Will and Nico find comfort in touch, i think it's safe to say both their love language is touch, and it's not only for comfort, it's their way to communicate with each other without using words, when Nico apologizes to Will he does it while exstending his hand to him, sure he mouths sorry too, but to prove to Will he's sorry for what he did, he offers him his hand and Will lets Nico know he accepts the apology (even if they're gonna need to talk about it later) by taking his hand, it's all there, also there's many more example during the whole book where things like that happen over and over again

Lastly you guys don't have to like this kiss i don't particulary like it either, but i understand why they wrote it and the fact they wrote the apology too means they never tried to make it pass as perfectly fine to kiss someone in a moment like this.

Also also "but WHAT IF Nico instead of reacting the way he did reacted badly" i'm sorry but what kind of arguments is this? he didn't, he reacted good. Among all the criticism this one genuinely made me laugh cause wtf does it even mean what if

Head canon —

Looks like Nico, with Will's eyes and freckles. And definitely is almost like Will in persona.

He has Nico's taste in decor, and both like his parents' fashion and mixes them up. (Looks like an Italian cow boy.)

Richest kid in the demi-god and mortal world. (Infinite money and shit given by his gradpapi, Hades.)

Doesn't flaunt it around, though. He's almost exactly like Will in personality. And i'm pretty sure, Will doesn't flaunt around with money.

IS SPOILED, BUT HE AIN'T A BRAT, PERIOD!

Has an obsession on The Doctor Who series. (Loves the Weeping Angels, even though it scared the shit out of Will.)

He has his powers to shadow travel and heal. Literally the persona of light and dark omg.

As tradition in the Di Angelo family. (Will took Nico's last name.)

Everyone had a crush on a Jackson. But their son..? Eh, it's not going away.

He knows medical emergencies and is great at adapting to situations, has high adaptability. Liks his dad, Nico.

Speaks in a Southern/Italian accent. (He switches every now and then.) And knows how to speak Texan and Italian. (Texan is not a language, but can understand very easily the thick accent.)

Is incredibly sarcastic at times. And it pisses Nico off.

Is very social, he's like Nico when he (Nico) was younger.

Actually pulled a Jackson. Ngl. (I'll make a tumblr post of Percy and Annabeth's child soon.)

Is actually very sweet and polite, but his sarcasm tends to change that outlook.

Will use iconic quotes from The Doctor Who to get away with things.

Hates pomegranates, loves chocolate colored strawberries. (He is fruity as hell.)

And is hella gay. (Likes boys, only.)

Is an easy baby when he was an infant and didn't give his parents a hard time.

Nico flipped out, when he confessed that he was gay and liked a boy. (Nico only flipped at hearing him say Jackson.)

Got together with a Jackson, to Nico's despair.

(Reason why? - is not because he's affected by having a crush on Percy before, but because Percy teases him by saying, "My son is your son's type. HAHA—")

Will found out first, because they were making out in Antonio's bed. And he was asking Tony (Nickname for Antonio.) To eat with his 'friend' didn't tell Nico for atleast a month before word got out.

Antonio knows how to fight well with a sword, and knows how to shoot a gun. But is ass with a bow and arrow. (Consistenly pouts and complains about it, like his dad, Will.)

Loves blasting music, absolutely is dead ass a hardcore fan with Chappel Roan, and probabky Mitski. (Has good taste ngl.) Also has a thing going on with Taylor Swift.
