TF141 as iconic hockey players. I'll be taking no further questions about this your honour.
Price = Lanny McDonald, a born leader, tough as nails and knows how to win when the chips are down. Impressive facial hair and determination.
Ghost = Ken Dryden, stoic, tall, a looming presence no matter where you are on the ice. Fearless and formidable in the face of projectiles. Face mask game is on point.
Soap = Tie Domi, a short shit disturber extraordinaire with a a flair for the dramatic. Knows how to make shit happen and is forceful in his execution. Someone you hate to play against.
Gaz = Willie O'Ree, a true legend who always cleans up nicely and gives the best of himself no matter the circumstance. Patient and a master of putting himself in the right place at the right time.
If you are going to google any of these men, start with Willie because his story is amazing.

Building The Hockey Card Online Collection
Back in January, 2022, we added the subdomain collection.vintagehockeycardsreport.com to replace the existing online collection at the main site. The previous version was published in an archaic form that consisted of html attachments that were hard to update and upgrade.
Adding cards started quick through the first few months of 2022 but something was lacking. The hockey card profiles were simply images of the front and back of the cards. Traffic didn't come and it kind of got left in the dust over the summer and autumn months.
In late 2022, the hockey card collection subdomain once again became a focal point. It became about quality. But, not about quality of quantity but quality with quantity. The goal is still to have a complete collection of vintage hockey cards online but the goal is also to tell a story about each and every one of those cards. The goal is to provide the most value possible to anyone who visits the site.
With this return to action, we added "Card Notes" to each new addition and we're going back and adding "Card Notes" to the cards that were added earlier in 2022.
Card Notes consists of the documentation of the information snippet on the back of the card with an expanded article taking a deeper look at the information provided. We look into the specifics of the info given, correct any mistakes/misinformation that was given (this happens a lot more than you'd think) and we take a look at each player's career.
We're also taking the Card Notes text and transforming it into audio. That audio is going to short videos that are published on our YouTube, TikTok and Facebook pages.
So, here at Tumblr, we're going to document the behind the scenes journey to creating a massive hockey history / hockey card resource. Stay tuned as we continue to post on goals and numbers as this thing grows...
Here's an example of the "Card Notes" shorts - a look at the 1975-76 O-Pee-Chee 23 NHL hockey card featuring Lanny McDonald of the Toronto Maple Leafs:

Today is overcast and so am I. I once told someone I am the human equivalent of Eeyore (this was before I lost my farm so it's even more apt now than it was then). ANYWAYS part of my therapy is building up positive experiences which seems simple but when you don't really give a fuck about anything anymore it can become more challenging to fulfill. What's a positive? Most feel trite these days. ANYWAYS in order to 'be the change' or whatever, I am going to give the following a whirl. As always, if this lands in your asks it's no pressure to participate.
Once you get this, you have to say five things you like about yourself, publicly. Then you have to send this to ten of your favourite followers (non-negotiable, positivity is cool~)🌈🌈
This was a lot harder than I wanted it to be lol
My eyes are beautiful and piercing. My SIL called them intense.
I'm funny, voted most likely to become a comedian when I was younger.
I'm good with kids, even if I don't want/have any of my own.
Lanny McDonald thinks I'm a good skater, so I'll take that as a win
I am infinitely curious about the natural world and history.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
HOCKEY HALL OF FAME ANNOUNCES UPCOMING SEARCH FOR THE NEXT PRESIDENT AND CEO By: Kelly Masse, Hockey Hall of Fame TORONTO (June 26, 2024)—Lanny McDonald, Chair of the Board of the Hockey Hall of Fame, announced today that long-time executive Jeff Denomme will retire from the office of President and CEO following the next annual general meeting in spring 2025. Succession plans were tabled at the Board of Directors meeting held on Monday, and further information regarding the recruitment process will be announced this fall. Denomme started with the Hockey Hall of Fame as an intern in 1986.  He later served as Vice-President, Finance and Operations while playing an instrumental role in the design, construction, and operational planning for the Hall’s relocation and expansion from the Canadian National Exhibition grounds to BCE Place (now Brookfield Place), Toronto, in June 1993.  Promoted to President, Chief Operating Officer, and Treasurer in 1998, and after spearheading three further expansions, Denomme’s path led to his current appointment as President and CEO since August 2013. “Jeff’s outstanding contributions and behind-the-scenes leadership have been paramount to the Hockey Hall of Fame's development, growth, sustainability, and success throughout his tenure of 38-plus years,” said McDonald. “In my experience as a past member of the Selection Committee and continuing as Chair of the Board, I am especially impressed with Jeff’s exceptional work ethic and versatile hands-on approach to strategic planning, corporate finance, governance matters, facilities design, marketing partnerships, project management, contracts, and so on.”  “It has been a tremendous honour and privilege to serve the Hall for my entire career surrounded by countless people who are passionate about our great game, including those whose contributions exemplify excellence at the highest level,” said Denomme.  “I am grateful for the opportunities and support that have made possible so many special highlights for me personally and foremost the advancement of hockey’s iconic cultural institution and destination attraction.  I look forward to working with our Board and dedicated management team in support of a smooth and successful leadership transition.” _________________________ The Hockey Hall of Fame (“HHOF”) was established in 1943 to honor and memorialize individuals who have brought special distinction to the game of hockey and those who made outstanding contributions to the development and advancement of hockey anywhere in the world and to collect, research, preserve, exhibit and promote objects, images and other historical materials connected with the game at all levels. As a not-for-profit corporation and registered charity, HHOF owns and operates a museum and place of entertainment offering state-of-the-art exhibits, theatrical presentations, and educational programming from its premises at Brookfield Place, Toronto, and a multi-purpose archive, resource center, and research facility located at 400 Kipling Avenue, Toronto.
