Danny Fenton, aka Phantom, has been given a new task!

In short, literally no one in the Ghost Zone/Infinite Realms wants their mostly peaceful afterlife to be rocked by a certain Gotham rogue named Joker. Which, when he dies, is almost sure to happen because of whatever the hell was in that vat he dropped in included ectoplasm. So, yay, he’s also a little ghostly too, meaning he *is* pretty hard to kill. Unfortunately, there’s also a certain vigilante that is quite keen to murder him in recent years.

So now Danny has to keep the mass murderer trauma clown alive for as long as he possibly can while attempting to keep the Joker from. Well. Being the Joker.

Oh, and naturally, Danny got this assignment AFTER Joker got out of Arkham. Again. And entirely blew up the asylum. Time to join the Goonion, he is NOT doing this without getting PAID, thank you.

anyway can't wait for the first time Daniel and Armand get to go to bed together post reunion (after all the screaming and crying and throwing up etc). it'll be the first time Armand's really allowed himself to go full comatose sleep around Daniel, and the first time they spend a night (day) together on the same internal clock, not having to worry about when they'll be forced to break apart again due to the sun. imagine Armand's relief at finally, finally being able to be held in deep sleep by his boy, the one he's ached for all these decades, and hold him in return.

I promise you that there have been enough advancements made in the art of lesbian sexual dynamics in the past 50 years to broaden the vocabulary used to describe the plethora of types of masculine females.

#being called butch just reminds me of how much males have the freedom to navigate between male archetypes and how people pay attention to #the distinguishing features of these varying masculinities #but when a female is seen as masculine it all gets lumped under the “butch” category #her masculinity is seen as unnatural and therefore incapable of being considered genuine or taken at face value as it is with males.#its always brought into question instead of taken in consideration with the rest of the woman's life and experiences and her particularities #Hence... Butch is still being treated as though its a huge lesbian cultural phenomena instead of a specific niche thing #also i dont mean to invite the “you dont pass!!” anons again bc that idiot is missing my point entirely (which is that im truly not trying)#but the fact is that for the past 3 years i have found myself increasingly navigating the male social world #and discovering what it means to me as a female to have access to the ability to take my “masculinity” for granted... relax #forget about it #etc #i think thats entirely antithetical to the Butch thing which seems to rest on the tension of other peoples expectations of her #people broadly are more surprised to find out that im interested in women just as much as they're surprised that im a gym queen iykwim...#ive worked hard for this and now that ive gotten the Woman Social Role thing pretty much entirely out of the way i am living the dream #i think a large part of that is learning as a dyke to appropriate the language of gay men theres a reason their terminology had #staying power even when their scene was *literally* dying meanwhile all that seemed to survive from dyke spaces was butch n femme ??#its because theirs didnt necessitate the building and maintenance of a scene in order for the subculture to hold its head above water #their labels *largely* weren't predicated on their relationships to gender roles and its telling that for dykes it was #their labels rested on the need to simply show up anonymous n be able to easily flag whether they were looking to fuck or be fucked #alongside the set of circumstances under which they would be fucking or getting fucked or what have you #it all comes back to the restrictions of female social blah blah blah and i think the sooner we collectively set down what we see as our #responsibility as lesbians and as feminists to Be A Woman the sooner we can step outside of that #n start thinking clearly about our individual circumstances and the necessity of putting on your own oxygen mask first before helping others

#Thinking about Shadow and Neo rn!!!#Shadows system are like. SUPER outdated. His hardware cant keep up with his software #<- (He overheats a lot which is a cause for more organic body language like blushing and having a reason to breathe)#Neo doesn't understand why he doesn't update his hardware. Neo has a much more efficient processor so she never overheats.#Shadow is afraid to go under such a big change. 1.) Nine PTSD. he gets squeamish about getting unnecessary maintenance.#2.) He prefers to feel organic by slowly updating hardware to mimick aging. 3.) His hardware has Black Arms tech in it!!#His hardware is super adaptive and can't be irreparably damaged because it can heal itself #also he doesn't know if that contributes to his variety of emotions and sentience. so he is NOT gambling that.#Shadow needs to feel like he's organic. Neo doesn't. Neo doesn't understand why he'd choose an old flawed system.#Neo still respects his decision. it actually makes her more curious because be can have such physical responses to stimuli.#ALSO HEHEHE #they bond over having free will stripped from them!#scariest experience of Shadows existence is basically how Neo felt for YEARS. C'est le jour des langues aujourd'hui donc vous avez droit à un poste en français

Et je vais continuer à parler de Koisenu Futari (une série japonaise centrée sur deux personnages AroAce, mon premier poste ici) parce que cette série est mon coup de cœur du moment. <3

Je ne suis généralement pas très bonne à repérer les éléments de language visuel - mais il y a un détail de cette série qui me fait sourire à chaque fois qu'il est dans le plan.

Quand Sakuko se prépare à s'installer avec sa meilleure amie, elle achète une lampe colorée très fun.

Et c'est évident dès l'épisode 1 qu'elle va bien s'entendre avec Takahashi, parce qu'au delà d'être tous deux AroAce, ils partagent un amour des lampes colorées.

Voilà la première lampe que Takahashi allume la première fois qu'on découvre sa maison :

Il allume cette lampe en premier, avant même le plafonnier. Je vous jure que c'est fait exprès ! Elle est parfaitement centrée dans le cadre !

Je pense qu'elle sert aussi à annoncer le côté... disons maximaliste, de la maison. Il y a beaucoup de choses, partout, tout le temps, mais ça donne un côté très chaleureux au décor.

(en opposition à l'appart moderne et lumineux mais entièrement vide que Sakuko a visité avec sa meilleure amie quelques scènes plus tôt)

(Oui je tire beaucoup d'un unique arrêt-sur-image, et alors. Quand la cinématographie est bien faite il y a beaucoup a interpréter.)

Et comme elle est installée en plein milieu de la pièce à vivre, cette lampe est régulièrement à l'écran, et elle me fait sourire à chaque fois.

La revoilà dans l'épisode 4 :

Et finalement au premier plan dans la dernière scène de l'épisode :

Cette lampe est clairement un choix de décore délibéré et je l'adore ! C'est quasiment un personnage à ce stade.

D'ailleurs ce n'est pas la seule lampe à fleurs de la maison, il y en a plusieurs rien que dans le salon, et au moins une dans la chambre de Sakuko.

There's so much to his character that I never talk about aaa I'll make a lore post eventually

#i have thoughts about this guy #he's so hungry for affection and that social and physical contact he see's all the people in his city get #he's takes up so much after them in so many ways #maintenance on this guy... mechanics working on checking all the wires and circuits and touching all the sensitive nerves and neuron flies #its nice that his entire structure is well taken care of but he also wouldnt be able to focus on anything else #he's so used to working in perfect undisturbed conitions..must be so distracting when something changes #he'd have his overseers watching as they plug things in and test stuff and poke around in his guts #and maybe he'll enjoy it a too much and he'll beep when a cable is pushed in.. its not like the sounds are unusual #the structure is alway whirling and buzzing.. whats a few extra clicks and hums when a particularly sensitive component is touched #its not like they would know unless they were really paying attention to the sounds and looking for a reaction #trying to please their beloved supercomputer #he longs for the same love they're capable of but it does quite work out. They can't hug him in a way that feels the same #does affection mean anything to him when its so little. one of these days i'm going to write up all that i've changed from azzarello's bullshit era and the one (1) piece i've kept from milligan (and also changed) and the only thing currently stopping me is that it is going to be so, so inside-baseball incomprehensible. and i almost never want to go reading/screencapping azzarello and milligan to add references but i Want to add references.
