ngl im pretty pissed at lando

i think this is my first (and probably last) post about this because i have so many feelings and i know i cant waste more time diving into them because i will just cry more and waste time and-

i understand that lando was mad. i understand that he was furious with the team – so was i – and that excuses 99% of his actions in my mind. he's allowed to be bitchy on the radio (which he wasn't really, tbh, he was mostly quiet lol), he's allowed to act strangely and espECIALLY when the team doesn't give him any straighforward orders (should've been a "lando. you will let oscar pass. end of discussion." instead of "hey... think of all our morning meetings together..." and the other emotional blackmail).

BUT. the thing it doesnt excuse is him ignoring oscar on the podium. im getting more and more furious over this the more time passes and the more times i re-watch the clip, because what. the. fuck. ?!?!??!!?

yes you're upset at the team, but it's not oscar's fault. in no way does oscar need your anger. like, i know lando is better than this! he can handle his emotions, he's not a little baby. oscar already had his first win not feel like a win; he didn't get to celebrate on the radio, he wasn't overjoyed in parc ferme. the least you can do is douse your friend in champagne to make him feel better!!!!

and like to me there's just nothing that excuses this. no "he didn't wanna break his trophy" (solution: wait and let osc put it down, then do your champagne pop and attack him) and no "he was upset" (solution: grow tf up, this isn't oscar's fault!!).

it's all based on the fact that lando is more mature and smarter than this. if it had been another driver, maybe i wouldn't have been surprised. if it had been another pairing, i probs wouldn't have cared. but lando this isn't just anyone, this is oscar. your osc, your osco. he didn't deserve to be standing there on the podium, seeing both lando and lewis walk away from him.

it was slowly getting late as you stood in the kitchen washing up dishes from dinner, while your daughter lily sat in the floor playing with her toys. your phone started buzzing, you looked at it and saw lando was trying to facetime you. you hurried to dry off your hands and swipe to answer.

“hello!” lando beamed once your face appeared on the screen. “hi my love” you smile, propping yourself up against the counter on your elbows. “how are you doing?” he asks, its was bright out, he most likely was just now leaving the track he just raced on.

“oh i was cleaning up from dinner” you pause, “i watched your race, did good today im proud of you!” the praise made lando smile from ear to ear, he got p4 which isnt podium but still something to be proud of. “maybe that why i did so good, cause i had my lucky charm watching me” he giggled at his own remark, even made himself blush.

you walk over to your daughter, sitting on the floor next to her. “actually, you had both of your lucky charms!” you smile, showing lily the phone. lando’s face lit up and he waved at her, “hi darling!” he chimed.

lily reached out for the phone, grabbing it from you and holding it comedically close to her face. “oh okay i guess its her phone now” you joke, smiling at her. “hi h-hi daddy!” she seemed as if she wanted to reach out to him through the phone. lando giggled at just the pure sound of her voice.

“hi there princess, did you watch daddy race today?” he asks. she doesnt say anything back she just nods her head. “i-i miss you” her little voice and her pleading words made your bottom lip stick out in a pout. “aw you do? well daddy will be home soon okay darling?” lily nodded, turning her attention back to her toys and dropping the phone on the ground.

you grab the phone, standing up and walking down the hallway to the bathroom. “well i guess she didnt want to talk to me anymore” he jokes before pausing to take notice of your face. the lines around your eyes and your nose turned pink and eyes watery. “whats wrong baby?” he plead. “i dont know” you shrugged, laughing at yourself for getting teary eyed. “for some reason the way she said she missed you pulled at my heart strings a little bit” you smile.

“i know mine too a little bit, made me feel a little choked up” he smiled. “we do really miss you over here though” you got somewhat serious with your statement. “i know honey and you know i’d be on a plane to you right now if i could but my body desperately needs a break”

you nodded, you knew he was right. it wasnt gonna be like this forever but for the small amount of time that it is, it sucks. “i know baby, and its okay, you know i want you to prioritize yourself right now” you smile, at him. “okay, ill let you get to bed soon, kiss lily for me too okay?” you nodded, sniffling and wiping your face. the two of you exchanged virtual kisses before hanging up, allowing you to get ready for bed.

the next morning was the same as all of them, morning shower, then making and eating breakfast and then cleaning up. lily had just gotten cleaned up and you left her in the living room watching tv so you could brush your teeth. you stood for a minute, looking at yourself in the mirror poking at all of your insecurities you’ve had your whole life.

suddenly you heard lily yell “daddy!” you assumed maybe lando had called you and she got to the phone. “lily honey is daddy on the phone?” you called out walking down the hallway. there was silence, no talking from lily just complete silence. “lily?” you called out again.

you stopped in your tracks when you reached the living room, there stood lando in the doorway, holding lily tightly in his arms as she giggled. “oh my god!” you smiled, lost for words as you ran up to him throwing your arms around his neck. “hi baby” he laughed at the sheer force in which you threw your body at him with. his free arm wrapped around your waist, holding you at the small of your back.

“what are you doing here?” you ask, placing both hands on each side of his face. “well obviously i needed to see my two pretty girls” he smiles, smothering lily with kisses, making her burst into a fit of giggles, slowly sitting her back down.

Really, Lando should have been used to it. He'd seen the cans of monster (her preferred energy drink since they'd started sponsoring her boyfriends team), he should have known that she was going to stay up doing... whatever.

(In reality it was course work that she had put off to go to Grand Prix. And now it was the end of the year and she was, essentially, fucked)

But it wasn't just the two/three hours of a sleep a night. No, the lack of water had to have something to do with it as well.

Lando wasn't the most observant when it came to things like this. He was, admittedly, in his own little bubble most of the time, unaware of anything happening outside of it.

But, when you come to care for someone, and I mean really care, they often penetrate that bubble.

That was how Lando noticed that she was holding her head, a low, uncomfortable moan escaping her lips as she looked at her laptop screen.

"What is it, Baby?" He asked as he wrapped his arms around her.

She buried her face against his shoulder, blocking out all light. "Nothing," she said against his shirt. "I just need a minute."

So, Lando gave her that minute. He held her, rubbed her back as she tried to sooth her aching head. As he looked around her bedroom, he couldn't help but notice a lack of water. Just cans of monster everywhere. Abd how goddamn tired she looked.

Shit, as her boyfriend he was legally obligated to do something about it, right? To take care of her?

When she next got up to use the bathroom, Lando pulled her laptop into his lap. She saved her work, closed the lid, and put it on the floor.

When she walked back in her blankets had been pulled back to reveal the soft bed beneath. "Sleep," Lando said, but it came put as more of a demand than anything else.

"Lan, where's my laptop?"

But he pressed his finger to his lips and patted the space beside him. "I hate you," she muttered as she crawled into the bed.

"I hate you too," he said, smile fond as he pulled her blanket over her. He waited until her breathing had evened out before he got up to grab her some water.

Logan was woken by the sounds of someone knocking on his door. Rolling over in bed he looked at the time it was 3am Logan had one rule: don't interrupt him while he was sleeping. Grumbling, he got out of bed and opened the door finding his friend y/n standing there staring at his phone.

Logan was struggling to hold back laughter. He knew his friend was attractive, the grid had been drooling over him since he joined 5 years ago.

He knew it would only take 1 good photo for all hell to break loose. He did promise to not laugh though.

"And it's all the drivers?"

Y/n looked back at his friend, his face going slightly red.

"Well no... Some of the team members have got involved...even a few fans...."

Logan's eyes widened. He knew the drivers were down bad but the team members and fans too?

"And what do you want me to do about it?" Logan asked, leaning back on the sofa. Y/n looked down at his feet.

"Well you're my best friend and a good looking guy…. I was wondering if you could give me some advice? Help me on how to deal with all this?" Y/n asked, a slight hint of desperation in his voice

Logan's annoyance at his friend for waking him up was all but gone.

"How could I not see this coming? They've been making heart eyes at you for years."

Logan shifted into a more comfortable position on the sofa, gesturing for friend to come sit next to him

Y/n stood up and sat down on the sofa next to Logan, still staring at his phone, refusing to look up and meet Logan's eyes.

"Mate I’m so screwed." He mumbled. Logan sighed and put an arm around his friend's shoulder.

"You're not screwed. You're an attractive guy. Of course all those drivers are gonna be thirsting over you"

Y/n finally put his phone down the coffee table and groaned, burying his face into Logan's shoulder.

Logan let out another chuckle and nodded.

"He's crazy about you."

Logan glanced at his friend, his face red, completely oblivious to the fact that most of the grid was in love with him.

"You really didn't know did you?"

Y/n let out an uncomfortable laugh and stood up from the sofa.

"It can’t all be Lando, come on mate"

Logan smirked and picked up his phone. He knew he was going to enjoy this. A ping sounded as an Instagram notification popped up on his screen.

“What am I going to do?” Y/n asked

Logan scrolled through the comments, chuckling to himself at the ridiculous things they were writing.

“You’re a grown ass man. Just ignore them." He teased, knowing it would piss his friend off.

“Oh yeah because it’s that easy” y/n responded, rolling his eyes and glaring at his friend.

Logan chuckled again, he was enjoying messing with his oblivious friend.

“So what’s the worst one you’ve seen?” He asked, still scrolling through the comments.

Y/n went bright red and he sat down on the sofa again, staring at his own phone.

"You don't want to know." He mumbled, trying to avoid the question.

Logan's eyes widened, that reaction could only mean one thing, someone had written something dirty.

"Oh come on, mate now I want to know" he laughed leaning closer to his friend. Y/n buried his face in his hands, the tips of his ears going red.

"You're gonna laugh at me" he mumbled, refusing to look at his cheeky friend.

Logan was laughing already, he could tell it was going to be good. He sat down on the sofa next to his friend, their thighs touching.

"Come on, it can't be that bad" he goaded, leaning closer to get a better look at his embarrassed friend's phone.

The smile on Logan's face got wider and his arm found its way back around y/n's shoulder. He pulled his friend closer, a cheeky plan forming in his mind.

"Damn they're not pulling their punches" he laughed reading the raunchy comment.

“It’s not funny Logan!” Y/n exclaimed looking at his friend.

“I don’t know man it kinda is… look just let the guys down tell them your of interested” Logan says.

“What am I going to do?” Y/n asked leaning against the back of the couch.

“Join a convent and go celibate for the rest of your life” Logan suggests.

The next couple of days passed quickly for y/n and he spent them avoiding his phone, hoping the comments would die down. But the thirst for him only increased. He walked around the paddock, trying to go unnoticed but being stopped and dragged into conversations everywhere he went. He had to admit some of the attention was fun, Max Verstappen had jokingly commented that y/n was the hottest driver on the grid.

That was until he walked back into the Ferrari hospitality on the second practice day, he had been invited to join the team to enjoy the air conditioning.

As he sat at one of the tables, he was joined by a couple of drivers. He'd just finished a rather heated conversation with Carlos about his new haircut when he felt somebody else slide into the seat next to him. He turned his head to find himself face to face with none other than Charles Leclerc, Ferrari's golden child.

Charles smiled down at the smaller man, resting his chin on his hand. He had the same goofy look on his face that most of the drivers had.

"You know they’re all absolutely crazy for you, right?" He smirked, watching y/n's reaction. Y/n felt his face go red. No matter how many times the drivers mentioned it, he always got embarrassed by it.

He looked away from the handsome Monegasque and cleared his throat, trying to sound casual.

"They’re clearly joking," he mumbled.

Charles laughed, his eyes never leaving the nervous man beside him. He knew y/n was oblivious, everyone knew that he was oblivious.

"Mate you're hot. You were the hottest thing in the paddock last season" Charles teased, resting his hand on y/n's knee under the table.

Y/n's eyes darted to where Charles' hand was resting on his knee. His breath hitched as the older man’s hand slowly crept up his thigh.

“No way” he mumbled, trying to ignore the way Charles’ hand felt against his skin and the heat radiating off the man's body.

“Ummm I gotta go” y/n said jumping up and running off.

Charles chuckled to himself, amused by the smaller man’s panic. He watched as y/n ran out of the hospitality and through the paddock, almost bumping into Lando and Pierre on the way out. Lando and Pierre caught each other’s eye and silently agreed to follow behind the man. They’d both seen the interaction with Charles and had to admit, it was very amusing.

It was race day. The whole paddock was buzzing with excitement; most of the attention was focused on y/n.

He had already been swamped by drivers all morning, everyone trying to wish him luck and joke about how attractive he was.

But he pushed all those thoughts away as he climbed into his car. Now it was just him and the race.

The race went smoothly for y/n. He finished P1, which was an amazing result but it made him happy. He climbed out of his car and was instantly swamped by his mechanics and engineers congratulating him on the race. He smiled, proud of himself for finishing in the points.

The usual celebrations began, music blaring out, champagne spraying everywhere. The crowd were going wild.

Y/n stood still watching the chaos unfold in front of him. A smile on his face. Until he felt a presence standing next to him. He turned his head to see Oscar smiling down at him. “You did great mate” Oscar mumbled, trying to make his voice heard over everyone else on the podium.

Y/n smiled up at him.

“Thanks. You did good too” he chuckled, a sense of giddiness flooding over him.

As the celebrations continued Oscar leaned slightly towards y/n.

“Can I tell you something?” He asked, his eyes wandering across y/n’s face and settling on his lips. Y/n’s breath hitched slightly when Oscar leaned closer to him. He nodded and looked away flustered by the young man’s gaze.

“Uhmmm. Yeah. Of course” he mumbled.

Oscar shifted closer until his chest was almost touching y/n’s shoulder. He could hear the man’s breathing, and the way his breath hitched when he spoke. He smirked

“I’ve wanted to do this for a while” he said quietly, barely more than a whisper.

Y/n shuddered, the feeling of Oscar’s breath brushing against his neck and the warmth of the man’s body seeping into his sent all the blood rushing down to south.

He opened his mouth but was cut off by a set of warm lips pressing firmly against his. Oscar’s hand found its way to the small of y/n’s back, pulling them flush together as he pressed against the man. Y/n responded immediately, leaning into the kiss. One hand gripping the side of the podium and the other grabbing the front of Oscar’s race suit.

They pulled away panting slightly, both men’s faces flushed. Oscar smiled at y/n, his eyes full of hunger and need. Y/n let out a nervous laugh.

“What was that for?” He asked, his voice shaky.

“I had to make sure you got the right message considering that you are so oblivious,” Oscar says, shrugging his shoulders.

“I’m not oblivious” y/n said offendedly .

“Sure you aren’t mates” Oscar says, shaking his head smiling.

Lando slammed the apartment door shut, the echo bouncing off the bare walls of their new place in Monaco. He threw his helmet on the couch, the familiar orange a stark contrast to the simmering red of his mood.

"Y/N, did you see that?!" he yelled, stomping towards the kitchen.

Y/N was hunched over the counter, phone glued to her ear, a frown etched on her face. "Ugh, why won't this load?..." she trailed off, finally noticing Lando's stormy entrance.

"Didn't you see what Yuki pulled out there?!" Lando practically exploded. "That dive bomb into Turn 12? I could've been wiped out!"

Y/N finally peeled her phone away from her ear. "Yeah, I saw it. Sounds scary," she said, her voice flat. She scrolled through her phone again, a picture of a cupcake taking center screen.

Lando's anger intensified. "Scary? Y/N, it was reckless! He could've ruined both our races!" He gestured wildly with his gloved hands. "And all he gets is a five-second penalty? That's a joke!"

Y/N sighed, a sound of exasperation that sent a fresh wave of irritation through Lando. "Look, I'm sure you'll bounce back. Maybe get some revenge on him next race?" She offered a tight smile, her eyes still glued to the phone.

Lando felt a knot tighten in his chest. "That's it? No 'are you okay?' No 'that was a dirty move?'" His voice dropped to a low growl. "Don't you even care?"

Y/N finally looked up, startled. "Of course I care, Lando! I just... I had a really stressful day too, okay?" She gestured vaguely at the phone. "Work stuff."

The knot in Lando's chest unraveled, replaced by a hollow ache. "Right," he muttered, his voice devoid of its usual spark. "Work stuff is always more important than your boyfriend getting wrecked on the track, apparently."

Y/N's eyes widened. "Hey, that's not fair! I wouldn't say that." She reached out a hand, but Lando flinched away.

"Just forget it," he said, his voice tight. "I need a shower."

He stormed past her, the slam of the bathroom door echoing through the apartment. Y/N stared after him, the phone clattering to the counter with a forgotten thud. The file which had now loaded mocked her from the screen.

Her heart pounded a frantic rhythm against her ribs. She'd been so caught up in her own problems, she hadn't realized Lando was having a terrible day. Shame washed over her as she remembered his frustrated yells, his need for support.

She jumped up, rushing to the bathroom door. "Lando, wait!" she called out, her voice laced with panic. "I'm so sorry, I was just..."

Silence.

She tried the knob, but it wouldn't budge. He must've locked it. Lando, who never locked the bathroom door. A cold dread filled her.

He was mad. Really mad. And it was all her fault.

The silence stretched on for what felt like hours. Dinner, usually a time for shared laughter and stories, was a tense affair. Y/N cooked Lando's favorite pasta dish, but it sat untouched on the table, growing cold beside her untouched plate. Every time she stole a glance at the bathroom door, a knot tightened in her stomach.

Finally, unable to bear the silence any longer, she cleared her throat. "Lando," she began tentatively, "I know you're upset, and I just wanted to say again that I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have been on the phone. I was just..."

The clatter of the bathroom door slamming shut cut her off. Lando stormed into the living room, his face a mask of fury.

"Just what?" he spat out, his voice raw with emotion. "Just another bad day at work for you? Don't you get it, Y/N? Today was a nightmare! Yuki nearly took me out, the car felt off the entire race, and to top it all off, the media keeps hounding me about missing out on the podium."

He ran a hand through his hair, his frustration evident. "And you," he pointed a finger at her, his voice cracking, "you weren't even there for me. You were too busy with your stupid phone to even see how much I was fucking hurting."

Tears welled up in Y/N's eyes. "Lando, I-"

He cut her off again, his voice laced with a raw vulnerability that ripped at her heartstrings. "No, Y/N! You don't get to talk now. I had the worst fucking day of my life, and your sorry does. not. fix. that. You listening to me, maybe even caring, might have. But you weren't there. And frankly, right now, I don't even know if you care at all."

He stormed past her, grabbing his helmet from the couch. "I'm going for a drive. Don't wait up." The slam of the front door echoed through the apartment, leaving Y/N standing alone in the cold, sterile silence. Tears streamed down her face, a silent apology echoing in the empty room. She had messed up, badly. And now, she had to find a way to fix it, even if it meant facing Lando's anger and rebuilding the trust she had so carelessly shattered.

Lando's car tore down the familiar winding roads, the roar of the engine a poor substitute for the roar of frustration in his chest. Tears, hot and angry, blurred his vision as he navigated the steep climb towards his favorite spot - the very same hill where he'd asked Y/N to be his girlfriend.

"Stupid phone. Stupid fucking Yuki. Stupid me," he muttered under his breath, slamming the car into park with more force than necessary. He stormed out, the cool night air doing little to quell the fire burning inside him.

He reached the familiar crest of the hill, the city lights twinkling like scattered diamonds below. It was supposed to be a place of peace, a place where he could clear his head. But tonight, it was a stark reminder of everything he'd lost.

"Why couldn't you have listened to me Y/N," he growled, the words catching in his throat. He sat down on the familiar patch of grass, burying his head in his hands. A choked sob escaped his lips, the sound harsh and raw in the quiet night.

Suddenly, a soft voice broke through his despair. "Lando?"

He looked up, startled, to see Y/N standing hesitantly before him. She was holding a basket overflowing with snacks, drinks, and a familiar fluffy blanket. Her eyes were red-rimmed, her face etched with worry and regret.

"Y/N? What are you doing here?" he asked, his voice hoarse. His anger hadn't quite subsided, but it was overshadowed by a wave of surprise.

"I followed you," she admitted, her voice barely a whisper. She set the basket down beside him cautiously, the woven handles creaking softly. "I know you needed some space, but I couldn't just stay there. I had to try and fix this."

Lando hesitated, then gestured towards the spot beside him. Y/N sat down, her gaze fixed on the glittering cityscape. Silence stretched between them, heavy with unspoken emotions. Finally, Y/N reached out, placing a hand tentatively on his arm.

"Lando, I'm so, so sorry. There's no excuse for my behavior today. You were having a terrible day, and I completely ignored you. It was selfish and insensitive, and I hurt you. And for that, I am truly sorry."

Lando flinched, a tear rolling down his cheek. He looked at her, his eyes filled with a mixture of hurt and longing. "I just... I needed you, Y/N. Today was one of those days when everything felt like it was going wrong. And all I wanted was for you to be there for me, to listen, to just be you."

Y/N's hand tightened on his arm. "I understand now. And believe me, I was there in spirit. Every time you yelled, every time you slammed the door, it broke my heart a little more. But I was so caught up in my own problems, I didn't even see how much you were hurting."

She squeezed his arm gently. "Please, Lando. Let me try to make it up to you. Let's stay here, talk, share some snacks." She gestured towards the basket with a small, hopeful smile. "Maybe then we can face tomorrow together."

Lando looked from her hopeful face to the inviting spread in the basket. A flicker of his old smile played on his lips. He sighed, the tension easing from his shoulders. "Alright, Y/N. Snacks and talking it out sound pretty good right now."

As they settled under the blanket, the city lights twinkling around them, they began to talk. Lando poured out his frustrations about the race, Yuki, and the media. Y/N listened intently, offering words of encouragement and understanding. They reminisced about better races, laughed at silly inside jokes, and slowly, the rift between them began to heal.

The drive home was filled with a comfortable silence, a silent promise to communicate better in the future. As Lando pulled into their driveway, he turned to Y/N, a genuine smile warming his face.

"Thanks for coming after me, Y/N." He leaned in, his lips brushing softly against hers. "I love you."

well good day to all of you. i have a tale. a classified, certified absolute god tier disaster of a tale.

at the ripe hour of 6:45 am i was awoken from my slumber by a Noise. what sort of noise? you might be asking.

the sort of noise that usually accompanies my father getting up at the ass crack of dawn and trying not to turn on the tap loudly so that he doesnt wake us up.

for one blissful moment i thought that i was at home, in my bed, and all was right with the world.

and then i remembered that i live approximately four hours away from my parents and all is not right with the world.

so i did what any person would do. waited for the noise to go away.

but it did not.

so i investigated. in all my bleary eyed glory.

and found that my bathroom ceiling light was pissing.

not just a little either.

a severe, unauthorized amount of water was streaming out of my bathroom light fixture.

so after banging on katyas door and finding a bucket and throwing on a sweatshirt i dragged my tired ass down to the front desk and reported the tea as it were.

now one thing you need to know about our building is that it is old. the second thing you need to know about our building is that the maitenance guys (we call them the boys) are absolutely incredible, like tumblr funny guy posts but irl, however they take for fucking ever to respond to any situation.

this time though, nothing was in clear danger of exploding or lighting on fire. so we made some breakfast. drank some coffee. watched the bucket that we had put in the bathroom fill up with water. and we waited.

and waited.

and waited some more.

then i noticed that if you stepped on some of our kitchen floor tiles they started squelching.

so back downstairs i went and explained the tea as it were once again.

and let it be known, that i worked for two very solid and very miserable years as a resident assistant in college. i know all about the woes of people complaining to you to fix things that you cannot fix and you cannot tell them when it will be fixed because the person who needs to do the fixing is otherwise indisposed. so my general attitude towards this whole situation was "hey man you can't make this better for me and im really not pressed about it as long as someone eventually comes and sorts out my pissing ceiling." which is a great attitude to have in this general situation. and especially so because it was about to get even more strange.

at approximately 9:30am our apartment was graced by the presence of one of the boys. the maintenance man. we will call him james.

we have encountered james before. he delt with our fuse box nearly exploding. that situation was not nearly as chill as this one was.

hes also incredible.

so he comes in and he goes "hey how's it going" and i say "well you know things are just leaking!"

he proceeds to tell us that the fridge in the apartment above us had a connection pipe that froze and exploded some how and that managed to leak all into our apartment. not nearly what i was expecting but hey! at least they know what's going on!

we tell him about the squelching tiles and he says that he will bring us a dehumidifier after he turns off the water and deals with the mess of the fridge above us. we say ok great! this is wonderful!

and he goes to leave the apartment. out of habit i had locked the door when he entered. he goes "aw man did you lock me in?"

and i say

"oh sorry!"

and he pauses.

and he looks at our door in disbelief. perhaps even utter horror.

and this, my lovely audience, is what he was looking at:

surprisingly. he was not staring at the entertainment for man and horse plaque that katya and i found while thrifting. nay. he was staring at the unfortunate combination of the printed photo of lando norris and max verstappens face.

now why are lando norris and ax verstappen on the back of my door? you might be asking. you might even be asking who they are.

and if youve been following the lore of this blog, you might recognize them as formula 1 drivers. lando norris of course being a mclaren driver and max verstappen being the reigning world champion of team red bull.

and how did they wind up on my door? well at christmas katya thought it would be funny to put a picture of lando norris on top of our christmas tree and so we got one printed at cvs but when you get wallet sized photos printed they print you four of them so we ended up with four of the same photo of lando. one went on the tree, one went to my sister, one is in our bathroom and now one is on the back of our door.

as for max. well. katyas partner drinks red bull and he was on the red bull box so we cut him out and stuck him there. neither of us are particularly big max fans, it was just funny.

but anyway. i digress.

james is standing there staring at this array of perplexing stuff and goes.

"really? him??"

and i go

"yeah..." not knowing what else to say.

and james turns. and he looks at us. and he goes. and i shit you the absolute fuck not.

"now what's wrong with lewis hamilton???"

(sir lewis hamilton being the mercedes f1 driver, 7 time world champion and absolute icon)

and katya and i go

"oh no no! we love lewis hamilton! we just respect him too much to put him on the door!"

which is true

and james goes "now what did you think of him going to ferrari?"

and i say "i thought it was an interesting choice"

and katya says "i was surprised."

and james says "you and me both" and then he shuts the door behind him.

katya and i look at eachother. and we both fall to the floor in fits of laughter.

let it be known that james has come face to face with a giant tapestry of mr worldwide mr 305 pitbull himself that is in our bathroom, on several occasions, and yet, he chooses to comment on our choice of formula 1 driver that is taped to the back of our door.

im still in a state of disbelief. my ceiling is still pissing. my floor is still squelching. and my maintenance man felt the need to call our my choice of formula 1 driver at 9:30 on a saturday morning.
