After all - when College Blvd AND Valley Parkway are BOTH now under the shadow of Oddo “Approved” plans - why would we still be stuck with the old Cedar Creek name? Didn’t Potter gain control everything in ‘Its a Wonderful Life’ and then the town was eponymously renamed…? “A great movie” the young Rick Oddo was once heard to say, adding: “pity the ending went all wrong…! But when I grow up…”

I followed this guy on instagram cuz he posts a lot about how to correctly butcher and break down large slabs of meat (I'm very bad at it!) but he keeps posting hella pro-CAFO/pro-ranching-on-NPS-land videos and it's very weird. Logically I understand why he supports these views but it's pretty propagandistic and misleading to call these people essentially abusing NPS land for larger scale cattle ranching "small family farmers". It's also misleading to characterize the government as unduly infringing on these farmers' rights when they are using land owned by the government to feed their privately owned cattle. It kind of drives me nuts bc the crux of that entire issue was that the farmers' ranching decreased local elk populations from over 400 to around 120 and that's tangible damage done by these farmers. Also kinda makes me sick to see him get all up in arms calling ranches with 800 head of cattle "small operations" because they don't legally qualify as a CAFO. Imagine living next to 800 cattle. I'm positive those farmers absolutely terrorize their neighbors with just the shit canals they have for their livestock.

I'm gonna guess you mean descended from Holocaust survivors & victims. In which case it's really sad that you think this way firstly? POC and non Jewish people did in fact die during the holocaust and many were targeted for not fitting the Nazis' idea of the "superior Aryan race".

The Nazi regime discriminated against them because the Nazis viewed Black people as racially inferior. Also contrary to what some believe, and this may sound farfetched and I hope you're sitting down but bear with me- some people are actually more than one race. Some people are POC and white. We call this being biracial. Or in grade school, being an "Oreo". A mutt if they really want to dehumanize you

But while my relatives weren't targeted for their skin color as they were white, many people were. Black Germans and other POC did exist, were murdered and traumatized, and have passed down that generational trauma. Just as other persecuted populations even if it was much less it was no less a part of the genocide and ethnic cleansing.
