Synopsis: It was meant to just be a normal day together. So why was Maria trying to avoid looking anywhere below Lance's collarbone?

How this situation even happened? Well, that was honestly beyond Maria's comprehension at this point.

The original plan was to just, y'know, watch her boyfriend - Lance - spar with his older brother. Said older brother also brought along his girlfriend, Noor. A double date, of sorts.

After sparring, they all probably would've gone their separate ways and done their own thing together. Noor and Davis would be bitching about everyone - and each other -, and Maria and Lance would get some quality time together playing…. Chess, or something. Watching a movie was also on the table.

That was meant to happen. Not…. Whatever actually happened.

Maria sat down next to Noor on the bench of the arena. She was simultaneously bewildered and unsurprised that RSA even had a training arena.

Noor whistled. “Well damn, looks like Davis is showing off,” she murmured just loud enough for only Maria to hear.

Maria arched a brow. “Are….. Are you checking him out?”

“Well, obviously, what did you think I was doing? Gawking at the concrete?” Noor shot back with a shameless grin. “Besides, you'd be checking out your boyfriend if given the chance.”

“That's too bold of an assumption, don't you think?”

“Nope. Not really, I just know that you know that we both know that both Novellion brothers are our water for even the hottest of deserts.”

Maria scrunched her nose at the implications. “Noor, I knew you were straightforward, but still-”

She was cut off. “Sorry, bloody Mary, but I say what I wanna say,” her eyes softened a little, upon seeing Davis preparing his blade for the match. “.... I guess that's what made me fall for him.”

Maria chuckled in amusement, endeared by the fact that - no matter how much she makes fun of him - Noor loves Davis. In a way, it reminded her of how Lance loved her.

Speaking of Lance….

Noticing that Maria wasn't paying much attention, Noor smirked deviously. “Speak of the devil,” she crossed her arms, giving the girl right next to her the side eye.

Confused, Maria looked in the direction Noor was looking and felt her jaw almost drop to the ground.

It was obviously Lance, Maria knew that much. But what was so shocking was that, well, he was wearing a tank top. His blazer was tied around his waist, and he was wearing the fingerless gloves that Maria had bought for him during one of their little shopping sprees.

He was breathtaking, and Maria practically felt her face go red upon seeing how well his body fit into the tank top.

Noor's smirk widened. “Aren't you the one who called me too ‘bold’?” she just barely managed to stifle her laughter. “Looks like the tables have turned on ya, Maria.”

Before she could retort back, Maria's head whipped towards Lance as he sent her a wave - And a gentle smile.

As a response, Maria waved back, smiling as well. Sure, she was a little flustered and this was a bit too uncharacteristic of her to do, but it wasn't like she was gonna be like this the whole time, right?

Wrong. Absolutely fucking wrong.

The moment Davis and Lance started sparring, all Maria's mind could do was take her back to the sight of Lance's muscles tensing as the grip on his sword tightened itself.

She gulped. This feels embarrassing…. She thought.

Not the fact that Lance was sparring, per se. More so the fact that she was shamelessly watching him - or more specifically, his arms - so intently.

Noor was a different story. Compared to Maria, who was trying to be discreet, she was utterly shameless.

She whistled loudly. “WOO! KICK HIS ASS, DAVY JONES!” Noor exclaimed, eyes sparkling as Davis deflected the thrusting of Lance's sword with his leg.

As a reply, Davis grunted with a determined grin. “Depends on the results of this match, Apollonia!” he parried another one of his brother's attacks.

Giggling, Noor rested her head on her hand. “Arrogant dork..” the tenderness in her voice contradicted what she said.

And Maria? Well……

In comparison, she was more or less silently cheering Lance on. It was better than accidentally loudly proclaiming how well-toned he was.

As the match reached its end, Lance dug his sword into the ground, now on one knee with his head hung low and his hands tightly gripping the blade's handle.

Davis panted, sheathing his sword back into its holster. “You did well, brother,” he declared, offering Lance a hand. “Although I doubt you'll be able to beat me any time soon.”

Lance huffed, accepting his brother's hand, and stood up. “We'll see about that, Davis.”

Letting go of his hand, Davis shrugged. “I'm not the one breathing heavily like they ran a marathon.”

Shaking his head, Lance bit back a smile of endearment. They both called off the match, declaring it a tie (even though Davis wanted himself to win).

Lance approached Maria while Davis walked up to Noor. He was adjusting his gloves, noticing how much they shifted in their position while he was sparring.

“How was I? I hope I didn't worry you too much,” Lance asked, his voice matching his apologetic expression. “I know you've seen me spar a couple of times before this, but still..”

Maria chuckled, trying to avert her eyes from Lance's upper torso. “Well, I'm just glad you didn't get a scar on your abdomen..” she laughed awkwardly after that.

Lance arched a brow at her after finishing the adjustments of his gloves. “Hm? Well, I doubt that would happen, but I can understand why you'd be worried about that.”

And of course, Lance was oblivious. He definitely noticed how red Maria's cheeks were, though.

Okay, maybe Lance isn't as oblivious as originally thought.

Maria's reddened cheeks were a start, sure. But the fact that she was absolutely doing everything in her power to stop herself from looking below his neck was what concerned him.

And by that - Yes. She was trying to pry those kinds of thoughts out of her brain as they made their way to Terrovania to watch a movie together.

Seriously, what's up with me lately? Maria wondered, embarrassed in every fiber of her body. All because of Lance and his…

She shook her head. No, Maria. Self-control.

Once they arrived at Terrovania, Lance let Maria choose the movie and plopped down on her bed.

He squinted his eyes a little, pursing his lips as Maria was setting up. She's been…. Awfully avoidant since the spar ended.

He looked off to the side, somewhat nervous. Did I do something wrong?

He didn't have time to answer that question for himself, as Maria soon sat down next to him - yet kept a significant distance - and played the movie.

Silence was what had occurred for most of the first half, with the occasional comment about how stupid the two main leads are.

It would be an otherwise normal date had it not been for the fact that Maria would steal glances at Lance, blush, and look away while shaking her head.

Nearing the middle of the movie, Lance unexpectedly paused it. Maria flinched at the sudden action and turned to Lance. “What was that for?” she questioned.

At first, silence was the only thing she got but eventually Lance would follow up her question with one of his own.

“Are you mad at me?”

Maria's eyebrows raised, her eyes wider than saucers, and she felt her shoulders jolt up ever so slightly. “Eh?”

Lance tilted his head, frowning. “Is it because of the spar I had with my brother?” he asked again. “Because if so…”

Maria interjected before he could continue. “Wha- Don't be ridiculous, it isn't because of that!”

“Then what, Maria? You've been avoiding the idea of even looking at me ever since the match ended. Did I do something wro-”

“Ah, sevens damn it, I got distracted!” Maria blurted out. Upon realizing she did, she slapped her hand over her hand.

Lance's lips parted before he spoke again. “Pardon? Distracted by what?”

“Um….” Maria let out a dry, awkward, laugh. “You're gonna think my reason is silly-”

“Maria,” Lance rested his hand over hers. “I just want to know. Your feelings and in general, all your emotions, matter. Just as much as mine do.”

Sentimental as his words may have been, it still took a while for hesitant little Maria to even begin to utter the sentence she was about to say.

“..... I'm gonna be honest here,” Maria moved closer to Lance, leaning against his chest to cover the embarrassment on her face. “... I found you, particularly your arms…. Attractive.”

She was met with an eerie silence right after, and Maria contemplated if Lance just- Didn't want anything to do with her anymore for even thinking such thoughts about him!

But what did she get? Lance stifling his laughter as he pulled Maria closer to his chest, kissing the top of her head in amusement.

“Hah, Maria…” he lifted her chin, so gentle, so unwavering with the tender look in his eyes. “You give me so many more reasons to love and be amused by you, with each passing day.”

Her eyebrows raised a little, and even she could tell that her pupils were dilating. Regardless, Maria closed her eyes, relishing in Lance's touch with a soon-to-be devious smile.

“I could say the same for you too, Lancey.”

Joining the core cast are Maria Pedraza, Amir Wilson, James Wilby, Rita Tushingham, Jonathan Aris, Jamie Andrew Cutler and Jemima Rooper

BBC, Moonage Pictures (The Gentlemen) and Nicolas Winding Refn today announce filming has begun on a brand-new series of The Famous Five for the BBC in the UK, in co-production with The Mediapro Studio which also holds the distribution rights for the series in Spain, Portugal, and Latin America.

The 2 x 90min series is created for television and executive produced by Nicolas Winding Refn (byNWR) & Matthew Read (Moonage Pictures) and follows on from the highly successful first series which aired on the BBC. The premiere, The Curse of Kirrin Island, was CBBC’s number one rated episode in 2023.

Diaana Babnicova returns as George, alongside Elliott Rose as Julian, Kit Rakusen as Dick and Flora Jacoby Richardson as Anne. Making up the fifth member of The Famous Five and the gang’s faithful furry friend, is Kip, the Bearded Collie Cross playing Timmy the dog.

With Jack Gleeson, James Lance, Ann Akinjirin also reprising their roles, they are joined by new cast members, including Spanish actress Maria Pedraza (Money Heist, Elite), Amir Wilson (His Dark Materials), James Wilby (Poldark), Rita Tushingham (A Taste of Honey), Jemima Rooper (Geek Girl), Jonathan Aris (Sherlock) and Jamie Andrew Cutler (The Hurricane Heist). Rooper starred as George in the 1990s Famous Five TV series and now takes on the role of Angela Clutterbuck, a guest staying at a mysterious hotel.

The Famous Five is based on Enid Blyton’s iconic stories and follows the daring young explorers as they encounter treacherous, action-packed adventures, remarkable mysteries, unparalleled danger and astounding secrets. Series two takes our heroes into strange and challenging waters as they face life during wartime – and the hazards of growing up.

- You spend some nights at the palace every month. The brothers always get jealous when you go. Especially when you come back with a tell-tale limp. Or being carried back home.

- You were sadly at ground zero when Luke snuck into Asmo’s room and his innocence became lost since Asmo had porn of himself playing on his laptop and was ‘enjoying’ it (because of course he faps to videos of himself). You tried to stop the little angel but he’s like an actual child and darts the moment you blink. Simeon was outraged, but you pointed out that Luke didn’t knock. Asmo was glad you stuck up for him because he was certain he was headed for a bath of holy water otherwise. It took Luke a month before he could stand to be around Asmo again. It took longer for Luke to look at him again.

- Since Satan is not allowed to have a real cat (not that Satan cares as he has at least 10 ‘hidden’ ones), Mammon bought him a realistic robot cat for his room. Satan nearly cried tears of joy. Satan did cry when a book-a-lance fell and broke it. Lucifer replaced it so that Satan didn’t start destroying stuff once the sadness went away.

- Lucifer knows about the cats. He lets Satan think it’s a secret so that Satan won’t try to get an amount that would be noticeable. You found this out when you went to bring Lucifer some coffee and found him petting one of Satan’s cats. You were sworn to secrecy.

- You tried edible underwear with Beel once. And only once. He accidentally bit your thigh and you have small scars from the indents of his teeth. He felt awful about it, still does, and anytime he’s between your legs for fun he kisses the scars in apology. Also he found the rest of the edible underwear you’d intended to use with others and ate them like a snack. You’ve decided to not bother with them anymore.

- Belphie and Satan ask you to every Anti-Lucifer League meeting. If you don’t attend, they email you the minutes of their meeting to see if you wanna join in in pranks.

- Despite your bedroom lock being enchanted, Diavolo can and has waltzed into your room and started cuddling you. Barbatos chastizes him every time as he comes in with him, but it still happens.

- You have shown Simeon the movie ‘Sister Act’. It’s now his favorite movie. You two sometimes sing ‘Ave Maria’ together, stomping and clapping the beat. Luke joins in when he can.

-You had a custom plush made for Levi of his goldfish. He cried tears of joy and it now sits in a glass case in his room.

I once again wonder what is the legal age for alcohol in cpc? In US and the country I live in, the legal age is 21. But I think it's 18 in UK right? If it's 18 in cpc then that makes sense because Lance is 19 and Blaine is 20 (i'm saying this because of the beer pong comment by Lance's friend)

Aww the births of The Pastel Siblings! Though Leelathae's thought during each of the births...it breaks my heart :( it seems that she view the births of The Pastel Siblings as a way to apologize for her "mistake" (in which she didn't make any mistake at all), even though it shouldn't be like that at all...

I'm surprised no animals appear at Maria's birth lol. I was really expecting for a deer or birds to suddenly appear haha.

This IS making me a bit worried though. I don't know much about child births and stuff but while it is normal to still feel pain after giving birth, is it possible that there were some complications leading to Leelathae's dead 3 years after giving birth to Gwen and Jamie? I'll let someone more knowledgeable to figure out what is happening with Leelathae since I have no idea at all.

Anyway! Finally, a close up on Pastel Siblings as babies!! I know we've seen them before in the portraits beside Jack's bed, but it's nice to see them clearer.

Initially, I was worried how Leelathae would react to Gwen, but nevermind that

I'm so happy about this scene :') Leelathae realizing how beautiful Gwen is, even calling her the most beautiful in all the land. Also her saying as long as Gwen thinks she's beautiful, then what other people think doesn't matter makes me sob. Mother love is always something so touching.

On the other hand though, it made me a little confused now on why she asked Jack to lock up the children and never let them out. Looking at one of the fast pass episode's thumbnail, maybe it's because of the witch? We're nearing the end and there are still so many questions.

I'M. I'M GONNA CRY. The fact that Gwen doesn't recognize Leelathae?? The fact that they're wearing the same robe???

WHEN LAMBCAT SAID THERE WASN'T ENOUGH GUT PUNCHES, SHE WAS BEING FR. I don't have anything to say about this scene, but at the same time I want to say a lot about this scene. Gwen's mom telling her that she's beautiful, Gwen crying without knowing why, I'm going to cry.

But hey, Gwegg is finally whole again! True love kiss is real after all ^_^ i love how Lambcat does a little spin at the classic true love kiss. But now that Gwen is finally awake...Well, let's just wish her, Frederick, Aurelia, and Celso good luck at dealing with the officially confirmed big bad wolf/serpent, Leland.

We kinda should thank Leland a bit, though. If he wasn't there ripping off all of the thorny veins, Gwen would get pretty hurt if she still wakes up while sitting up

Honestly, @heraldofcrow made a very good point ( x ) that Cainhurst Knights are not "real" hunters - they dispose of their nobles that got too blood-drunk! We do, however, know what their warriors used to wear thanks to a link between portrait and Chalice Dungeons:

And now I am thinking about the fact that Cainhurst Guardians (what Bloody Crow and Leo are) hunt specifically for Blood Dregs, that are said to be discovered within hunters first and foremost, and that lore bit that Vilebloods clan, was (re)born after Byrgenwerth discovered (more like brought back) the holy blood! It is possible that THE reason why Cainhurst warriors were hunting in Chalice Dungeons to begin with WAS to restore their 'legacy'.

So, basically, the Guardian type might have been a later invention, as they're 1) associated with the 'clan' (consanguineous contract with the blood queen) 2) NEED hunters' bodies for their quest and 3) found as hostile NPCs in dungeons but there are no corpses of THIS type of hunter scattered like this, so they simply could have dived in later

^^^ There is an armour of warriors on horses in Annalise's throne room specifically that is very similar, though! If anything, looks like the same armour but a silver variant instead of golden one! Within the lore, both silver and gold are believed to repel beasthood!

It is hard to say for sure which is which! Cainhurst seems to be more particular on silver in the end, though, whereas Healing Church picked gold as THEIR trademark, especially manifesting in Gold Ardeo of Executioners. But.... yeah, you know, THAT theory:

I would think that initially, Cainhurst had the golden heavy armor, but soon enough they started to prefer silver instead! Maybe to further distance from the Church as the tension between was growing, or maybe to connect with their ancestry more (Pthumerian ancestors DO seem to wear mostly silver things, Mergo's servants and Labyrinth Warrior off the top of my head). Maybe both! Or maybe 'golden' warriors were the army - diving into dungeons, travelling lands, etc, but 'silver' warriors were bodyguards specifically, with attached presence to the castle and the queen! I think I like this one!

My point is? If Bloody Crow and Leo were guardians of the queen from the start, this might have been their armour before adopting the new style as hunters of Blood Dregs.

And maybe Maria also used to wear a set like this? Beasts (and undead Pthumerians in the dungeons, for that matter) are very agile, and heavy armour would not be effective. You need to jump and roll and run with these fuckers, you'd need a lighter armour! We can see confirmation of it with just how many warriors are dead in the dungeons. So, Gehrman and other Old Hunters appeared and helped Cainhurst to adopt different tactics with clothing and maybe weapons?

Alternatively, just like heraldofcrow said, maybe Maria WAS a Knight and not the warrior; but, again, Knights are basically internal staff with their clothes and unnecessarily elegant fancy weapons x) Their forte is killing their peers that went cringe and fail, not so much the beasts! So, again, a training to become stronger and go out there to protect the city from "plague of beasts" was needed.

Male Knights specifically have shoes of horse riders (with sharp metal plates to them, you know) and the name of the weapon Reiterpallasch means 'horse rider's sword' in German. So yeah, like I said before, it is expected that male Knights would prefer riding horses and using Reiterpallasch and rely more on their physical capacity; meanwhile, female Knights would likely rely more on bloody sword Chikage, that is also then used by Guardians! Interestingly, transformation of Chikage doesn't include stabbing oneself like in Maria's battle, but instead, you slide it in the sheath and it comes out bloodied.

Maria's weapon is also interesting, as it is not simply Chikage but without blood, of course! I feel like typically male Knights would use Reiterpallasch that is a sword, but also a gun, meanwhile female Knights (and later, Guardians) would use Chikage and Evelyn, and Evelyn Maria is pretty familiar with too!

Basically, she could have already been a unique Knight on her own, maybe already had her unusual weapon, or maybe she used Chikage + Evelyn combo but never used Chikage's bloody state. But Cainhurst seems to be the most gender-roles place, and if Cainhurst Knights had certain "norms" within them (with men being more dex and women being more blood), I can imagine Maria being 'your angle or yuor devil' with her style and clothes x)

Yet I just..... keep thinking about the possibility that guns using silver bullets were Old Hunters' invention entirely, that Cainhurst OWES Evelyn to Gehrman, and that Knights became a thing after holy blood was brought back. Because now the vampires could drink it like that! In that case? Maria and Crow could wear that cool metal armour, then Maria would adopt new style from Gehrman and Cainhurst would be the one to steal the drip for themselves! @fantomette22 made a good point that Knights on the portraits are depicted WITHOUT the ribbon; meanwhile, Knight's Wig is not only the ribbon itself but a... well, wig. It has a piece of silver hair attached to it! So maybe not Maria imitated the look of the Knights as a hunter, but THEY imitated her look in honor of her being the most important warrior amongst themselves?

Yeah it largerly depends on how long one wants to make the timeline, but what do you guys think? Was Maria wearing that cool silver armour before becoming Gehrman's student, as a guardian of the queen before they became something else? Or maybe what Crow's armour is actually DID exist for a while, and Maria was wearing that one before departing as a hunter? Or was she wearing just male Knight outfit but with fighting style more common for female Knights? Or she had unique look entirely? (But yeah also please consider..... Bloody Crow in alternative armour...)

Hello. My name is Maria. She/her. I am a Faller from a place called Yharnam through means unknown, the Chosen champion of Ho-oh through means theoretically known, and the current Champion of the Indigo League through means I know very well, as I did defeat Lance to win that title.

Though I still am thoroughly uncertain as to what quirk of fate resulted in my arrival here, the Johto region has become my home, and I will defend it. Team Rocket is now a memory, as is its leader. They will not be missed.

Here is my Trainer Card, for those curious—I have found that I look rather dashing in it.

My Gengar, Ade, is considerably more technologically literate than I and frequently borrows my device to editorialize upon my posts, record what I am doing, or make posts of her own. When she does, she favors the color purple.

Silver is, technically, still the rival to me that she has declared herself to be. She now has her own blog at @cosmic-crobat. In previous posts upon my blog, she has utilized the color blue.

Occasionally, the god that deemed me worthy of saving Johto chooses to speak here as well. When Ho-oh does so, they do so with bold orange text, and they use that name interchangeably with another they have chosen: Solaire.

The first person to show me kindness in this world was an eleven-year-old boy named Ethan. He introduced me to the second—his mother, a woman named Reina, who I hold in the highest esteem and bear much affection for. I have lent her my device before, and her favorite color is pink.

(Ethan, in his single brief appearance here, used the color yellow. Unfortunately, Rotomblr seems to have removed that color from my post editor and I lack the technological knowledge to restore it, so should he return I will ask what he would prefer instead.)

Some time ago, there was an incident where my Pokégear was stolen and found its way into the hands of a mysterious woman known only as Dee, who distinguished her own posts with green text. I spent the following weeks attempting to solve the mystery of who she might be, only to discover that she was in fact the living Doll modeled after me.

I... do not know how she is in the same world as me. Nor do I know who her friend with the bold red text is for certain, though I have reason to suspect that they are from Yharnam as well.

Now that Team Rocket can be referred to in the past tense, I suppose I do now have the time to devote to the mystery of Dee, or I will soon. A part of me wants nothing to do with her. But she bears no responsibility for the circumstances of her creation, and perhaps she knows the answers to some of the questions I still have. Perhaps she knows something that I do not.

Man these intro posts just keep getting longer and longer. Maria has a Lot To Say now that she's less depressed it seems, which is probably objectively a good thing but still. Anyway, hi, it's still me, @ofstormsandfire, with the pokeblog I've been devoting the majority of my time on Tumblr to for the past few months. I have no regrets this has been very fun and is helping with my Bloodborne withdrawal.

Anyway. Hi. I like Bloodborne, I really like Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower, and I got the idea back in November that I could make her a Faller. That, honestly, there isn't much I can do to her that wouldn't be an improvement over the Ocean Horrors. So this blog resulted!

With that said, Bloodborne is ostensibly a horror game and while Maria is currently in the world of Pokémon, that does not change the fact that she has been through The Horrors and is likely to reference them. Canon-typical themes for that may be present, I'll do my best to tag for anything that isn't average pokeblogging fare, if you'd like me to tag for anything specific feel free to just ask!

#firebird arc: I combined the Radio Tower takeover and the Ho-oh subplot, made the Kimono Girls a lot more relevant, and ramped up the stakes slightly. Ho-oh is a firebird and I think there's a type of rocket called the firebird. I like puns. Sue me.

#from the ashes arc: Giovanni became an actual threat, there got to be an entire Rocket base in Tohjo Falls, and Silver got traumatized more. Mind the tags and also the warning OOC post at the beginning.

#kanto rocket arc: There wasn't much to do in Kanto so I had Rocket start causing problems on purpose. Silver transed her gender and Giovanni... seemed to no longer be a problem at the end of it.

#downpour arc: This hasn't started yet, and won't for a little while, but I've got one post in the tag already establishing it and letting people know what's up OOC ahead of time. I'll probably need to write another new intro post by the time this arc actually begins but it's nice to have my bases covered anyway.

#milf time and sonboy hours, #milf time: The first tag was specifically posts from Ethan and Reina, but Tumblr stole my yellow and Ethan didn't care about Rotomblr so we're not likely to see more of him actually posting. Maybe on Silver's account who knows.

#passing stranger: Posts from or relating to Dee, which y'all now know both ic and ooc is the Plain Doll. Though most of the posts in this tag are from her 24-hour takeover back in February, there will be more, she's coming back more permanently soon and I'm excited.

#rainbow wings: Posts from (or sometimes relating to) Ho-oh. They don't post that often but they're a giant rainbow bird they can do what they want. What they want, when they happen to be online, is generally for injustice to Not Happen. Good luck buddy.

#what's with this sassy lost child?: Posts from Silver, before she got her own blog at @cosmic-crobat. These days she mostly uses her own blog. I might reuse blue for another character later, or I might just keep using blue for her, we'll see what happens.

#ask game: Reblogs of ask games and responses to said ask games. This one isn't chronological.

#hints to the future: Specifically, responses to that one ask game with the gear emojis that lets you hint at future events. I am always accepting asks for this one no matter how long it's been since I last reblogged that ask game. I like hinting toward what's to come and I like writing prose.

#glimpses of the past: That one ask game with the hourglasses that lets you see into the muse's past. Again, always open because I love writing prose and I can write out prose for things that have already happened this way.
