Synopsis: It was meant to just be a normal day together. So why was Maria trying to avoid looking anywhere below Lance's collarbone?

How this situation even happened? Well, that was honestly beyond Maria's comprehension at this point.

The original plan was to just, y'know, watch her boyfriend - Lance - spar with his older brother. Said older brother also brought along his girlfriend, Noor. A double date, of sorts.

After sparring, they all probably would've gone their separate ways and done their own thing together. Noor and Davis would be bitching about everyone - and each other -, and Maria and Lance would get some quality time together playing…. Chess, or something. Watching a movie was also on the table.

That was meant to happen. Not…. Whatever actually happened.

Maria sat down next to Noor on the bench of the arena. She was simultaneously bewildered and unsurprised that RSA even had a training arena.

Noor whistled. “Well damn, looks like Davis is showing off,” she murmured just loud enough for only Maria to hear.

Maria arched a brow. “Are….. Are you checking him out?”

“Well, obviously, what did you think I was doing? Gawking at the concrete?” Noor shot back with a shameless grin. “Besides, you'd be checking out your boyfriend if given the chance.”

“That's too bold of an assumption, don't you think?”

“Nope. Not really, I just know that you know that we both know that both Novellion brothers are our water for even the hottest of deserts.”

Maria scrunched her nose at the implications. “Noor, I knew you were straightforward, but still-”

She was cut off. “Sorry, bloody Mary, but I say what I wanna say,” her eyes softened a little, upon seeing Davis preparing his blade for the match. “.... I guess that's what made me fall for him.”

Maria chuckled in amusement, endeared by the fact that - no matter how much she makes fun of him - Noor loves Davis. In a way, it reminded her of how Lance loved her.

Speaking of Lance….

Noticing that Maria wasn't paying much attention, Noor smirked deviously. “Speak of the devil,” she crossed her arms, giving the girl right next to her the side eye.

Confused, Maria looked in the direction Noor was looking and felt her jaw almost drop to the ground.

It was obviously Lance, Maria knew that much. But what was so shocking was that, well, he was wearing a tank top. His blazer was tied around his waist, and he was wearing the fingerless gloves that Maria had bought for him during one of their little shopping sprees.

He was breathtaking, and Maria practically felt her face go red upon seeing how well his body fit into the tank top.

Noor's smirk widened. “Aren't you the one who called me too ‘bold’?” she just barely managed to stifle her laughter. “Looks like the tables have turned on ya, Maria.”

Before she could retort back, Maria's head whipped towards Lance as he sent her a wave - And a gentle smile.

As a response, Maria waved back, smiling as well. Sure, she was a little flustered and this was a bit too uncharacteristic of her to do, but it wasn't like she was gonna be like this the whole time, right?

Wrong. Absolutely fucking wrong.

The moment Davis and Lance started sparring, all Maria's mind could do was take her back to the sight of Lance's muscles tensing as the grip on his sword tightened itself.

She gulped. This feels embarrassing…. She thought.

Not the fact that Lance was sparring, per se. More so the fact that she was shamelessly watching him - or more specifically, his arms - so intently.

Noor was a different story. Compared to Maria, who was trying to be discreet, she was utterly shameless.

She whistled loudly. “WOO! KICK HIS ASS, DAVY JONES!” Noor exclaimed, eyes sparkling as Davis deflected the thrusting of Lance's sword with his leg.

As a reply, Davis grunted with a determined grin. “Depends on the results of this match, Apollonia!” he parried another one of his brother's attacks.

Giggling, Noor rested her head on her hand. “Arrogant dork..” the tenderness in her voice contradicted what she said.

And Maria? Well……

In comparison, she was more or less silently cheering Lance on. It was better than accidentally loudly proclaiming how well-toned he was.

As the match reached its end, Lance dug his sword into the ground, now on one knee with his head hung low and his hands tightly gripping the blade's handle.

Davis panted, sheathing his sword back into its holster. “You did well, brother,” he declared, offering Lance a hand. “Although I doubt you'll be able to beat me any time soon.”

Lance huffed, accepting his brother's hand, and stood up. “We'll see about that, Davis.”

Letting go of his hand, Davis shrugged. “I'm not the one breathing heavily like they ran a marathon.”

Shaking his head, Lance bit back a smile of endearment. They both called off the match, declaring it a tie (even though Davis wanted himself to win).

Lance approached Maria while Davis walked up to Noor. He was adjusting his gloves, noticing how much they shifted in their position while he was sparring.

“How was I? I hope I didn't worry you too much,” Lance asked, his voice matching his apologetic expression. “I know you've seen me spar a couple of times before this, but still..”

Maria chuckled, trying to avert her eyes from Lance's upper torso. “Well, I'm just glad you didn't get a scar on your abdomen..” she laughed awkwardly after that.

Lance arched a brow at her after finishing the adjustments of his gloves. “Hm? Well, I doubt that would happen, but I can understand why you'd be worried about that.”

And of course, Lance was oblivious. He definitely noticed how red Maria's cheeks were, though.

Okay, maybe Lance isn't as oblivious as originally thought.

Maria's reddened cheeks were a start, sure. But the fact that she was absolutely doing everything in her power to stop herself from looking below his neck was what concerned him.

And by that - Yes. She was trying to pry those kinds of thoughts out of her brain as they made their way to Terrovania to watch a movie together.

Seriously, what's up with me lately? Maria wondered, embarrassed in every fiber of her body. All because of Lance and his…

She shook her head. No, Maria. Self-control.

Once they arrived at Terrovania, Lance let Maria choose the movie and plopped down on her bed.

He squinted his eyes a little, pursing his lips as Maria was setting up. She's been…. Awfully avoidant since the spar ended.

He looked off to the side, somewhat nervous. Did I do something wrong?

He didn't have time to answer that question for himself, as Maria soon sat down next to him - yet kept a significant distance - and played the movie.

Silence was what had occurred for most of the first half, with the occasional comment about how stupid the two main leads are.

It would be an otherwise normal date had it not been for the fact that Maria would steal glances at Lance, blush, and look away while shaking her head.

Nearing the middle of the movie, Lance unexpectedly paused it. Maria flinched at the sudden action and turned to Lance. “What was that for?” she questioned.

At first, silence was the only thing she got but eventually Lance would follow up her question with one of his own.

“Are you mad at me?”

Maria's eyebrows raised, her eyes wider than saucers, and she felt her shoulders jolt up ever so slightly. “Eh?”

Lance tilted his head, frowning. “Is it because of the spar I had with my brother?” he asked again. “Because if so…”

Maria interjected before he could continue. “Wha- Don't be ridiculous, it isn't because of that!”

“Then what, Maria? You've been avoiding the idea of even looking at me ever since the match ended. Did I do something wro-”

“Ah, sevens damn it, I got distracted!” Maria blurted out. Upon realizing she did, she slapped her hand over her hand.

Lance's lips parted before he spoke again. “Pardon? Distracted by what?”

“Um….” Maria let out a dry, awkward, laugh. “You're gonna think my reason is silly-”

“Maria,” Lance rested his hand over hers. “I just want to know. Your feelings and in general, all your emotions, matter. Just as much as mine do.”

Sentimental as his words may have been, it still took a while for hesitant little Maria to even begin to utter the sentence she was about to say.

“..... I'm gonna be honest here,” Maria moved closer to Lance, leaning against his chest to cover the embarrassment on her face. “... I found you, particularly your arms…. Attractive.”

She was met with an eerie silence right after, and Maria contemplated if Lance just- Didn't want anything to do with her anymore for even thinking such thoughts about him!

But what did she get? Lance stifling his laughter as he pulled Maria closer to his chest, kissing the top of her head in amusement.

“Hah, Maria…” he lifted her chin, so gentle, so unwavering with the tender look in his eyes. “You give me so many more reasons to love and be amused by you, with each passing day.”

Her eyebrows raised a little, and even she could tell that her pupils were dilating. Regardless, Maria closed her eyes, relishing in Lance's touch with a soon-to-be devious smile.

“I could say the same for you too, Lancey.”

Joining the core cast are Maria Pedraza, Amir Wilson, James Wilby, Rita Tushingham, Jonathan Aris, Jamie Andrew Cutler and Jemima Rooper

BBC, Moonage Pictures (The Gentlemen) and Nicolas Winding Refn today announce filming has begun on a brand-new series of The Famous Five for the BBC in the UK, in co-production with The Mediapro Studio which also holds the distribution rights for the series in Spain, Portugal, and Latin America.

The 2 x 90min series is created for television and executive produced by Nicolas Winding Refn (byNWR) & Matthew Read (Moonage Pictures) and follows on from the highly successful first series which aired on the BBC. The premiere, The Curse of Kirrin Island, was CBBC’s number one rated episode in 2023.

Diaana Babnicova returns as George, alongside Elliott Rose as Julian, Kit Rakusen as Dick and Flora Jacoby Richardson as Anne. Making up the fifth member of The Famous Five and the gang’s faithful furry friend, is Kip, the Bearded Collie Cross playing Timmy the dog.

With Jack Gleeson, James Lance, Ann Akinjirin also reprising their roles, they are joined by new cast members, including Spanish actress Maria Pedraza (Money Heist, Elite), Amir Wilson (His Dark Materials), James Wilby (Poldark), Rita Tushingham (A Taste of Honey), Jemima Rooper (Geek Girl), Jonathan Aris (Sherlock) and Jamie Andrew Cutler (The Hurricane Heist). Rooper starred as George in the 1990s Famous Five TV series and now takes on the role of Angela Clutterbuck, a guest staying at a mysterious hotel.

The Famous Five is based on Enid Blyton’s iconic stories and follows the daring young explorers as they encounter treacherous, action-packed adventures, remarkable mysteries, unparalleled danger and astounding secrets. - You have suggested therapy to the brothers. A lot. They still haven’t agreed, but you’re going to keep trying because even with you doing all you do FUCKING HELL do these boys have trauma to deal with.

- You’ve gone down and visited Lilith’s memorial in the basement a several times. You talk to her and occasionally lay a flower on her ‘grave’ and thank her for helping you in the small ways she’s been able to.

- You hired an artist to make a family portrait and have everyone in it; even Lilith. It hangs in the living room over the fireplace.

- You’ve grown to... tolerate Solomon’s cooking. You’ve told him point blank that the food isn’t really edible. You’ve told him he’s terrible at cooking. But it’s in one ear and out the other. It normally goes as such:      MC: “Solomon. Honey. I love you. But your cooking is rancid!”      Solomon: “You love me?!” 8D “Let me make you dinner!”

- Diavolo has plans for you to eventually teach at RAD. Mostly to teach about Earth history and cultures; which has led to you studying extra hard and wondering why Solomon isn’t going to be helping you teach since he’s lived through history. But Diavolo’s plan is for him to teach ancient languages.

- You spend some nights at the palace every month. The brothers always get jealous when you go. Especially when you come back with a tell-tale limp. Or being carried back home.

- You were sadly at ground zero when Luke snuck into Asmo’s room and his innocence became lost since Asmo had porn of himself playing on his laptop and was ‘enjoying’ it (because of course he faps to videos of himself). You tried to stop the little angel but he’s like an actual child and darts the moment you blink. Simeon was outraged, but you pointed out that Luke didn’t knock. Asmo was glad you stuck up for him because he was certain he was headed for a bath of holy water otherwise. It took Luke a month before he could stand to be around Asmo again. It took longer for Luke to look at him again.

- Since Satan is not allowed to have a real cat (not that Satan cares as he has at least 10 ‘hidden’ ones), Mammon bought him a realistic robot cat for his room. Satan nearly cried tears of joy. Satan did cry when a book-a-lance fell and broke it. Lucifer replaced it so that Satan didn’t start destroying stuff once the sadness went away.

- Lucifer knows about the cats. He lets Satan think it’s a secret so that Satan won’t try to get an amount that would be noticeable. You found this out when you went to bring Lucifer some coffee and found him petting one of Satan’s cats. You were sworn to secrecy.

- You tried edible underwear with Beel once. And only once. He accidentally bit your thigh and you have small scars from the indents of his teeth. He felt awful about it, still does, and anytime he’s between your legs for fun he kisses the scars in apology. Also he found the rest of the edible underwear you’d intended to use with others and ate them like a snack. You’ve decided to not bother with them anymore.

- Belphie and Satan ask you to every Anti-Lucifer League meeting. If you don’t attend, they email you the minutes of their meeting to see if you wanna join in in pranks.

- Despite your bedroom lock being enchanted, Diavolo can and has waltzed into your room and started cuddling you. Barbatos chastizes him every time as he comes in with him, but it still happens.

- You have shown Simeon the movie ‘Sister Act���. It’s now his favorite movie. You two sometimes sing ‘Ave Maria’ together, stomping and clapping the beat. Luke joins in when he can.

-You had a custom plush made for Levi of his goldfish. He cried tears of joy and it now sits in a glass case in his room.

“They asked if I knew Camilla.”

Maria hummed at the reply Keres provided, her head on Lance's shoulder. “Same. Looks like they're interviewing all the students for this week, so– I guess we're allowed to go home early…”

Lance sent Davis a look. “Did they ask if you knew how to hunt?”

Davis snorted, flapping his hair from his face and laying his head on Keres’ lap, snuggling in real, real close. “Sure did. You?”

Lance only nodded in confirmation, his attention back on whatever classical bullshit he had to read for literature.

Maria’s bewilderment took center stage. “Hunt?”

“Why would they ask if you knew how to hunt?”

“It's ‘cause their bodies were gutted.” Keres was the most quiet among the four, but that didn't come off as much of a surprise to any of them.

Right now, they were just… reading. Not for class, like Lance, but for their own entertainment. Crazy, Keres had hobbies outside of being Davis’ loyal little lapdog.

Maria shuddered, sitting closer beside Lance. “God, that's gross…”

“You can say that again.” commented Lance, who wrinkled his nose with a narrow-eyed glance sent Davis' way.

“But they never asked me if I knew how to hunt.” Maria's lips twisted, her head tilting up towards the sky in contemplation.

Davis snickered. “It's ‘cause there's no way a girl could have done it.”

“That is so sexist, the killer could easily be female— basic instinct.”

“Yeah, well, Cami and her little boyfriend were like, hollowed out when the cops found them. Takes a man to do something like that.”

Maria's tongue clicked. “Or a man's mentality.”

After what felt like a small eternity, it finally came to the moment where Keres spoke up, their voice timid and almost hesitant.

“How do you… how do you gut someone?”

Davis — laying in the comfort of their lap — sent them a look, one that seemed to exude concern. Lance glanced suspiciously at Keres. “Why would you ask that?”

“I-I, it's just…” Keres gulped. “... curiosity, is all. Uh—”

“It's not exactly the most appropriate question to ask right now, Keres.”

“Lance, you know I'm not the killer, I was with Maria the other night—”

“Well, you can't blame me for being concerned, can you? I'm just saying–”

“Hey.” All attention turned back to Davis, whose eyes focused on holding the gaze of his little brother. “It's called having tact, you fuckrag. You could use more of that.”

Lance kept quiet, eyes on the ground. Maria let out a gentle sigh, her hand finding its place over his. They shared a look, the kind of look that would make anyone want to topple over for even a fraction of what they had.

Keres tensed, doing the same. Their hand went to interlock with Davis', their eyes meeting.

To which Davis huffed out a small, amused laugh. He sat up, his hand wrapping around them and pulling them closer to his chest.

He rested his head on the top of Keres' head, pressing a kiss against it. Keres' face flushed, looking back down to avoid meeting Davis' eyes.

They felt guilty. Guilty for so many things.

But most of all, they were guilty for managing to be a decent enough liar. Their ‘white lies’ flew over the heads of their friends. And only Davis was the one who caught on.

Only Davis knew the truth hidden behind the curtain of deceit they'd placed over themselves.

“Are… you sure this is a good idea?” It was hard to tell what a good idea looked like after Keres and Davis became official.

“It's the only way, little red,” said Davis, his voice akin to a harmless whisper. Unfortunately, Davis was anything but.

His hands found a place on the side of Keres' cheek, the motion deliberate in getting them to lean into his touch. He smiled. They smiled.

Keres’ didn't feel like smiling. They hadn't for a long time. They wondered if they should blame that on Davis; but that felt wrong. Davis loved them. Maybe more than they could ever know, more than they could fathom.

Yes. Keres agreed with the lingering trainwreck of thoughts in their head. Yes, that's exactly it. Davis knows what he's doing.

We're doing the right thing…

“Now, Red,” Davis crooned, giving their forehead an affectionate enough peck. “You know what to do now, don't you?”

They did. Word for word, Keres knew exactly what Davis instructed them to do tonight.

But just for good measure, Keres asked, “Could you… repeat it for me?”

Davis happily obliged. “You”— he said you like Keres was the most captivating thing in the world—“are going to drag little miss Maria somewhere dark and secluded.

“We're gonna knock her out, and we'll drive her to the warehouse. Or her basement, if you'd prefer it that way.”

“Davis, I…”

“Oh, I know what you're going to say.”

Davis' mood soured, his lips curving into a frown. “But this is for the best, Red,” he said, taking Keres' hands in his. “For my brother, for me, for you.”

“Maria was always a stuck-up little bitch, always running her mouth and getting up into people's business like she had a stick up her ass.”

“She’s too much of a problem to just leave hanging around.” Davis' voice was soft; in times like this, it always was. It was his method in soothing Keres' troubles.

It was the mask behind his worst rages.

Even if it did very little in the long run. Still, Keres gave him as best of a smile as they could muster, even if it pained them — and their cheekbones — to do so.

Davis smiled, and a chill snaked through Keres' spine. “You get me, Red. You always have.”

And always will. Keres may never know if that was a good thing or not. They didn't know if they were capable of it.

The trip to Marina's house was anything but long, barely the length of an evening joyride on Davis' motorcycle. One moment, Keres sat on the back — their arms wrapped tight around his waist — and the next, they were a few blocks away from Maria's doorstep.

“You know what to do, Red.” Davis caressed their face so gently. It scared Keres. They couldn't quite know why.

He kissed the top of Keres’ head, eyes filled with want. With a warning. They reluctantly nodded their head, indulging themselves in an embrace with their boyfriend for longer than what he'd deem necessary.

It was simple. The plan was simple, and if Keres couldn't pull it off, then they'd just be stupid. And they didn't want to be stupid around Davis.

They knocked the door three times, pulling back their arm to hide it behind them. Maria opened the door shortly after.

She tilted her head, surprised at seeing one of her friends at her doorstep in the late hours of the night. “Keres?”

“Hi…”

“What are you doing here? Its super late, I'm pretty sure you–”

“Can I stay here?” Keres asked, the question coming out as a desperate plea. They could shed some tears if they set their mind to it. “I… I don't wanna ask for too much trouble, but can I? Please?”

Maria blinked. “I– Keres, why would you stay here? Did something happen?”

Something's going to happen, Keres answered in the back of their mind. They almost felt guilty for the events that would come moving forward.

They looked around, then behind them, cautioning the way they moved. “I… I feel like I'm being followed. Watched. I can barely sleep anymore, Maria, please I–”

“Alright,” Maria abruptly interjected, letting out a soft sigh and widened the gap of the open door to let her friend inside. “You can come in. My parents are coming home late anyway.”

Keres entered the threshold, a lump suddenly forming in their throat and tears very nearly filling the brim of their crimson eyes.

They felt horrible. More than that, they didn't want to do this— to partake in this twisted trick Davis was planning on Maria just because he hated her enough to want her gone.

It should have made them sick to their core. But even when it did, it didn't seem like it was enough. They started this fire, this mess. They needed to pick up the pieces in their wake.

Maria led Keres to the living room, sitting them both down. The former took the latter's hands, and it broke Keres’ heart to see the genuine concern in their friend's eyes.

“You said you were being watched,” Maria began, unsure of where this conversation could go. “Do… Do you have any idea on who's watching?”

“I– I feel like I'm being watched, I don't… I don't know who's doing the watching.”

“Have you talked to the authorities about it?”

“What? Maria, you know they'd never believe that–!”

“But what if they did?” Maria let go of their hands. “Keres, murders around town are getting worse, what if… I don't know, they're after you too?”

It was hard to find the stuck-up bitch that Davis described Maria to be. “Why would they?” Keres pressed onwards, hoping their tone didn't show how tense they were.

Maria shrugged. “Who knows? I mean, do serial killers even need a motive?”

“Everyone has a motive for something, Maria.”

“I mean, I get that, but y'know…”

Keres straightened themselves up. They leaned back against the head of Maria's couch, their shoulders losing tension and making way for them to relax a bit. As much as they could right now.

“I mean– They probably have a motive for something.” Their eyes darted towards the ceiling. Maria's family was the kind to own different vacation homes across states, and the decor of her house seemed to show that.

“I don't get serial killers, let's be honest here.”

“Hehe…. Yeah…” I'm dating a serial killer, Keres thought with slight regret. But mentioning that while said serial killing boyfriend is planning to break into Maria's house wasn't the best conversation starter.

You can't really just drop a bomb like, my boyfriend is the serial killer the police are looking for and he's planning to kill you.

Keres grimaced through a smile while Maria headed to the kitchen to get something they weren't paying enough attention to.

Their phone buzzed, and there were no surprises to be had as to who sent the text.

Davis 🖤: Ready? You know the drill.

Keres' attention spiraled between Davis' text and the fact that Maria wasn't too far away.

They had to do this, right? Maria was always a stick in the mud, always trying to get up into everybody's business just to get some entertainment value! A no good piece of shit doesn't get mercy in this day and age, Davis would say.

But something bothered Keres. Something that's been conflicting them for quite some time, even until today— and it was the fact that Maria… seemed like nothing that Davis described her to be.

But that was the case with a lot of people, wasn't it? Keres' grip on their phone tightened. They act nice, at first, but the moment they discover something about you that they don't like, they…

Keres scoffed. Davis was right. What was the point behind mindless contemplation over the obvious? They didn't have much time. He was probably in the house by now, waiting for them to strike.

Little Red ❤️: Got it.

From the inner pockets of their leather jacket, Keres waltzed into Maria's kitchen with a drug that'll bide them time until Davis showed up.

All they needed to do was find a way to put the pill in Maria's mouth.

Luckily for Keres, Maria was preparing to drink some water while she was looking through the pantry. All they had to do was drop the pill into her glass, let it evaporate and do its job from there.

“I think the police are full of shit for not finding the bastard by now,” Maria said, emerging from the pantry after finding a pack of chips.

“You never know…” Keres leaned against the kitchen counter with the barest glimpse of hesitation. “There could be two killers.”

Maria shuddered. “Don't jinx it for us. I'd rather not think about it too long.”

You're in the room with one of them, Keres barely managed to keep from saying. Davis might've done the killing… but I played my part.

The phone calls to the victims right before Davis took the killing blow, were one of many things they'd done. An accomplice to a murderer who just so happened to be their boyfriend of several months.

Maria picked up the class and held it close to her lips while she and Keres talked, the latter watching her with bated breath and hoping that their heavy breathing wasn't as much of a dead giveaway as it was.

It was. “You okay, Keres?”

Keres let out an awkward cough. “Yeah, I'm– I'm good.”

Maria stared skeptically, but blessed be, she didn't question it. Instead she chose to shrug it off, presumably planning to bring it up a little later, and downed the glass of drugged up water in one go.

It shouldn't have affected Keres as much as it did when Maria began to collapse, falling unconscious and shattering the glass.

What startled them even more was when they felt a leather-gloved hand touch their shoulder.

“You did good, Red.”

“... Davis.” Keres breathed out relief. They probably shouldn't have felt as relaxed as they were.

They felt Davis press his lips to the back of their head, pulling them close by the waist. Whatever his other hand was holding, Keres deeply suspected that it was the shovel they bought at the department store for less than a couple dollars.

“... I feel bad.” Keres looked at Davis, praying and hoping that he'd understand what they're currently feeling. “Is that bad?”

Davis chuckled, tilting their chin and pressing a gentle kiss to their lips. Keres' mind seemed to go blank, melting under Davis' embrace and reciprocating his advances.

It shouldn't have been so easy to get them to his side. But it was. And Davis revelled in it.

“You'll get over it, Red…” Davis mumbled against their lips, giving them one last peck. “That's what narcissistic shitfucks like Maria do to us: they make us feel bad for them so they can hold something over us.”

Setting: Christmas party, Sonic's house

The Christmas party was the biggest event of the year. Sonic always invited all his friends and they all brought their own food and gifts for each other. Marais and Monika were asked to perform Christmas songs in the living room, and they happily accepted. Marais was especially excited to see Shadow, since she had started to develop a crush on him. Marais and Monika were almost finished with the setlist when Marais started feeling faint.

[Marais]: I need a break... I can't do three and a half hours of singing. I'm not Taylor the swift. (Get it, bc a swift is an actual bird?)

[Monika]: don't worry, Mari. Go ahead and take a break.

Marais grabs a glass of fruit punch and walks to a quieter room to unwind. She sits by a window with hanging fairy lights on the outside. Monika continues to play instrumental music in the meantime. Sonic notices Marais is missing.

[Sonic]: Hey Monika, where did Marais go? Is she okay?

[Monika]: she went into another room. She looked like she was about to pass out on stage, and she probably needed some time to unwind. Though it's probably best if someone goes to check on her now, it's been a while...

[Sonic]: good idea. I'll ask Shadow to go talk to her. They're good friends, he'll know what's going on with her. Hey Shadow!

[Shadow] (annoyed): what, Sonic?

[Sonic]: could you go check on Marais?

[Shadow]: (sighs) fine.

Shadow walks into the room that Marais was in. Marais pauses her music as she hears the door open.

[Marais]: Shadow! What're you doing here?

[Shadow]: Sonic wanted me to check up on you. Is it okay if I sit here?

[Marais]: of course.

Shadow sits on the couch next to Marais. She continues to look at the fairy lights. Shadow smiles as he sees her face lit up by the fairy lights and the lamp next to her.

[Marais]: aren't they beautiful?

[Shadow]: what?

[Marais]: the lights. They're almost like stars.

Shadow gets a flashback to looking out the space station window with Maria.

[Shadow]: yeah, they are...

[Marais]: 🎵say enough, say enough, did I let her know, let her know if I found my body in chains, I'd lay down and wait...🎵

[Shadow]: beautiful singing.

[Marais]: thanks...

Marais puts her earbuds back in the case and plays the music. "The craving (Jenna's version)" starts playing.

[Shadow]: I had a friend once...

[Marais]: you did?

[Shadow]: (nods) her name was Maria... She was my best friend, almost like a sister to me. We used to spend hours looking at the stars, and wondering what earth was like.

[Marais]: and I guess seeing these lights reminds you of those stars?

[Shadow]: yes, it does...

[Marais]: (smiles) I wanna show you something. (Deep breath) 🎵say enough, say enough, did I let her know, let her know if I found my body in chains, I'd lay down and wait🎵

Marais switches off the lamp next to her, making the cool white fairy lights the only light source. They looked just like stars in the sky, and the fairy lights slowly faded on and off.

[Marais]: 🎵cause it's the fear of the unknown that cripples every step we take🎵

[Duet] 🎵and I just hate to put this on her, but I swear that I will give more than I take away🎵

Shadow leans closer and kisses Marais. He moves back in time for the next line.

Aww the births of The Pastel Siblings! Though Leelathae's thought during each of the births...it breaks my heart :( it seems that she view the births of The Pastel Siblings as a way to apologize for her "mistake" (in which she didn't make any mistake at all), even though it shouldn't be like that at all...

I'm surprised no animals appear at Maria's birth lol. I was really expecting for a deer or birds to suddenly appear haha.

This IS making me a bit worried though. I don't know much about child births and stuff but while it is normal to still feel pain after giving birth, is it possible that there were some complications leading to Leelathae's dead 3 years after giving birth to Gwen and Jamie? I'll let someone more knowledgeable to figure out what is happening with Leelathae since I have no idea at all.

Anyway! Finally, a close up on Pastel Siblings as babies!! I know we've seen them before in the portraits beside Jack's bed, but it's nice to see them clearer.

Initially, I was worried how Leelathae would react to Gwen, but nevermind that

I'm so happy about this scene :') Leelathae realizing how beautiful Gwen is, even calling her the most beautiful in all the land. Also her saying as long as Gwen thinks she's beautiful, then what other people think doesn't matter makes me sob. Mother love is always something so touching.

On the other hand though, it made me a little confused now on why she asked Jack to lock up the children and never let them out. Looking at one of the fast pass episode's thumbnail, maybe it's because of the witch? We're nearing the end and there are still so many questions.
