Me, posting art on this account? *coughs* anyway, I have a few original settings swirling around in my head. One of them involves shapeshifting dragons/weredragons, with designs based on sea creatures and medieval bestiaries. Tiamat exists in the setting, depicted closer to her roots as a primordial sea goddess and the creator of said dragons, as well as a bunch of other things. It’s a little half-baked rn but I came up with a great design idea for her that I wanted to share… namely, to base her off of Paleozoic sea life!

This is what I’m thinking will be her preferred form. Primary insps include anomalocaris (armor and “wings”), dunkleosteus (placoderm “teeth”) trilobite (horns), some jawless fish whose name escapes me atm (tail), crinoid (“hair”), lamprey and tully monster (gills), and coelecanth (pectoral fins). Currently the one thing I’m undecided on is to keep it to just two eyes, or to give her five like an opabinia.

She is a shapeshifter, so she can change this up and frequently does! - In combat, she loses the “hair” and instead grows Wiwaxia-like spines. - When she needs to grab or handle something in a nonviolent context, she grows tendrils like that of a Facivermis - When she needs to grab or handle something in a violent context, she’ll go for anomalocaris grabby-things, or pincers and legs like a horseshoe crab or eurypterid - When she needs to go on land for whatever reason, she opts for horseshoe crab or eurypterid legs as well, I did a very, very rough sketch of this:

Beezleberies are type of a magical berry in shades of burning fire with juice sacks that need to be milked to get their juice. Behind them there is a hidden gummy heart that stinks horribly but tastes delicious. They whisper omnious and dysturbing things in hundereds of voices, even after being baked. A faint heartbeat is faintly audible from it. After being removed their seeds need to be burned, otherwise they'll turn into horrible abominations (homebrewed; ep.32) if not eaten quick enough, food made out from it can make your eyes scream (after closing them little teeth replace your eyelashes and they begin to let out horrid screams every time you open them) or run off (ep.33)

Pigtunia reported a frog man tried to free Sir Talivar from his cage and later on helped him with repairing the balloon and he and his neck didn't seem to be in any way damaged (ep.33)

The barn owl that party have seen is a one of forms of man that introduces himself as King of Hearts, an unnaturaly beautiful and perfect archfey humanoid creature with a barn owl face mask covering upper half of his face that claims to be one of the former rulers of Prismeer that was supposedly cursed by mother of three hags to be unable to enter the Castle where Zybilna is trapped. Supposedly, barn owl is a form of his familiar, as he is the moon to Zybilna's sun. He's able to cast spells and has a silver pocket watch that seems to be able to manipulate passage of time. (ep.34)

According to the King of Hearts, the Contraption on Torbek's back is not Prismeer-made but of somewhere deeper in the Feywild, probably of Twilight Court, and he claims to know who might be responsible for it. (ep.34)

King of Hearts never either confirmed nor denied that he's the Tight Pants Dude from their visions, nor wherever they are true, just gave them incredulous comments about them being ready to believe some dreams or visions over him. However, the state in which the unicorn is right now according to him seems to be perfectly aligning with the unicorn horn vision Kremy had. (ep.34)

this is gonna be a stupid question, but whats so special about the tuatara's third eye? is it not the same as a bearded dragon's third eye?

whenever you search up tuataras the third eye is always talked about - is that just because its cool for people who don't know other reptiles or is there something especially unique about them?

Parietal Eyes:

Ok so first off... the parietal eye (or the pineal eye) is a "third eye" on the top of the head of some animals. These eyes are basically part of or attached to the pineal gland on the brain. It is a primitive photoreceptor, that helps regulate circadian rhythm and helps track the position of the sun.

I guess what's special for some people about the Tuatara's parietal eye, is that most animals don't have one... also, I'm assuming that many people (including perhaps some science journalists) do not know that many lizards have them.

Tuataras do have the most noticeable and pronounced parietal eye.

Some notes before you proceed:

Yes, all tetrapods are fish! We are phylogenetically fish, as we are and our ancestors were lobe-finned fish! "Fish" in the phylogenetic sense is a paraphyletic group if you try to exclude tetrapods, so it is frankly impossible.

How come tetrapods aren't listed as fish then? Long answer, read my essay. Short answer, me and other fish accounts tend to operate on the morphological definition of fish, so does most of the world. Here I use the morphological definition of "fish".
