So I know I have been gone for a while and the reasons for this have been multiple..... However I would like to take a moment to catch all my Instagram subscribers up with the #disastrous results of our last Expedition. Over the course of four days last week my group, #StoriedTreasures, again ventured out into the Wilderness to look for the wreck of an airplane that had crashed back in 1946. The expedition, despite being very horribly planned on my part, went well until the final day... when I suffered a fall of about 8 feet into a nearly Dry Creek bed and laid my right arm across some Jagged rocks. As a result, for more than 7 miles I had to walk out with a makeshift sling made from the t-shirts of myself and my best friend Albert. Resulting hospital visit showed my #injury. And it seems I have completely destroyed my right #elbow. The radial head on my right #forearm has been snapped off and #crushed in several pieces as you can see on the #xray Likewise the #Bones have been #fractured and I also suffered a #wrist fracture on the same arm not far from where I had a previous injury.... The #metal #platesandscrews #lookcool, but I still wished I'd never seen them again LOL. As such I will be #laidup for a while, #surgery is next week, and I do not foresee any #goldprospecting or #hiking trips of any sort for a long time to come until I am able to recover. I might possibly go down to the beach, or try to do some one-armed #metaldetecting but this remains to be seen. I use my injury as a means to warn others about the dangers of going into a new area without proper planning, equipment, or supplies. I truly count myself as #blessed that my injury was not worse than it was and I was still able to get myself out. Take it from my misery and heartache..... So....I messed up my foot on Sunday moving furniture 😡! I sat around on Monday with it elevated and ice packs. By Tuesday I was going crazy so I did a @marcibrad_ workout. Had to modify it (of course). Mostly did upper body, but was able to do some squats as well..... the boot was brought to me by a good friend and I got crutches from my Dad. Today is Wednesday. I did another @marcibrad_ this morning as well. I am now sitting at an InstaCare.... going to have an X-ray to make sure it’s nothing that will affect it for the rest of my life. I’d hate it if this caused me to not be able to hike, bike, surf, ski, etc..
