Today on Donuts and Dogs we encountered a large dog with a muzzle in a group with a few other dogs on the trail. I didn’t initiate anything but the dog came up and rubbed so aggressively affectionately on us that we had to pet him.

I offered that I’ve seen dogs muzzled to prevent them eating rocks as a roundabout question. His mom sighed and said he has to wear it because otherwise he eats marijuana.

She took her child, her two children, and together, they survived.

Being removed prematurely, their early years were tough, but soon they blossomed into promising heirs for the league. In sync with every step, the closest of brothers, the league was certain the old fairy tale of twins being telepathic had been granted by the pit that separated them, the remnants of being born as one mind, one brain, one skull.

But then Danny had to flee, and leave his other half behind. Stretched by distance for the first time, the bond grew thin and stretched, and Damian grieved his brother as dead. When he started being sent on public missions, he hid his distinctive heterochromia, choosing the green in memory of the pit that had given him and his brother life.

Their reunion is a thing of family legend. If Sauron was hanging about Eregion for about four hundred years, then I'm assuming he didn't spend the whole time cooped up in the smithies, but also had to maintain his Friendly Neighbourhood Emissary of the Valar persona by mingling with the populace, taking part in their social calendar, attending their festivals, feasts, hunts, etc.

As one of the great tales, the Lay of Leithian must be a particularly popular subject for Elvish art, whether in song, poetry, maybe even in theatrical performance, and I find it impossible to believe that Sauron could have avoided hearing or seeing some rendition of it during his time among the Elves. And sure, maybe the bits with Finrod and Gorlim would occasion him a private chuckle, but the rest of it... well, he really doesn't appear to advantage!

Let's just say, if you were in the audience at such a performance - say, oh, the bit where Lúthien and Huan rescue Beren from the Isle of Werewolves - just say you were able to tear your attention from the drama on stage for just a second and happened to look around, you might be somewhat surprised to catch a glimpse of Lord Annatar sitting bolt upright in his seat, wearing a decidedly fixed smile, one hand rubbing unconsciously at his throat...

If you're asking ME, I'd say Steve is a massive animal lover and has been since the dawn of time.

You're telling me a little kid who was socially outcast from people his age for his physicality and illnesses wouldn't find comfort and companionship in animals??

I can imagine little Steve bringing home little furry friends every so often BEGGING his mum to let them stay, just for the night. It's so cold outside, Ma please! And Sarah would cave but they can never keep them any longer because they both know they can't afford animal care.

Maybe one of Steve's neighbours in childhood was an older woman who kept several cats, some hers, some strays. Steve stayed there when he was too little to be alone at home yet while Sarah was working and he would just lay on the floor and let them sit all over him until his asthma played up from all the cat hair.

And later in modern day, once hes out of the ice and feeling really lonely, he finds himself volunteering at an animal shelter close to his home. He can't actually keep a pet due to his work as an avenger and needing to be on call at all times with no one else to feed an animal when he's away, so instead he figures volunteering is the closest to owning an animal he's going to get.

Finally when Bucky is back and he drags home a little white kitten all wet and sad looking, Steve knows he isn't going to be able to deny Bucky's request to keep it. He always pictured himself as a dog owner but that doesn't stop him from loving the little guy to pieces. Bucky always complains about how Steve spoils her too much and is going to make her fat with treats.

She's normally in her first form when she's out and about, and when it's getting close to the full moon she looks like her second form before going full wolf! During that time period she starts getting a powerful craving for raw meat and she gets really itchy as her fur starts coming in, then the ears and tail follow! (At first glance I'm sure most of the townsfolk would just think she was a furry 😂)

In general she's very cheery, and she exhibits a lot of dog-like behavior (getting excited when the doorbell rings, noticing and perking up when she sees squirrels, shaking her whole body when she gets wet) and she has a somewhat irrational fear of rabies so she's not a very good hunter and actually tends to AVOID wild animals in the forest and stray dogs/cats. When she moves to Gravity Falls she opens a curios and oddities shop with her partner in crime, which a certain conman sees as competition, leading him and the mystery twins to go check it out 👀❓️
