Welcome one and all, to the most ambitious tournament probably so far (that is to say, I chose way too many characters but in my defense I had found a blank template for a smash bros character roster thing and wanted to fill the whole thing up, even if I had to turn to the dark side to do so for one or two picks): The 2023 Himboff!

Round 1 Part 1 will begin on Friday, hopefully giving everyone enough time to prepare themselves for battle (I describe this as if it's a war and not a tumblr pollnament-).

Thank you for the feedback on my poll about the number of participants. Although the option for accepting further submissions had the most support, after narrowing down the eligible participants to 102, I decided it would be best to continue with the current number so the tournament could begin! Larry sat on the couch, book in hand. He had a stuffed ladybug hidden next to him. Cliff walked into the room and sat on the floor near him. Larry looked over and noticed the dinosaur plushie he had.

"I...I can leave." Cliff said.

"No, no. You can stay." Cliff seemed happier and turned back to his plushie. Cliff sat there playing for a little while, Larry occasionally looking over. He really wanted to get down and play with him...but he felt scared. Cliff only knew Larry as a vague caregiver figure, not as another regresser. At one point, Larry looked over right as Cliff looked up at him.

"Um..." Larry quickly went back to his book. Cliff held out his dinosaur.

"Do you wanna play too?" Larry hesitated. He really, really, really wanted to. Larry shifted on the couch.

"What dat?" Cliff asked pointing at the ladybug plush. Larry froze.

"It's....It's a ladybug stuffed animal."

"What his name?"

"He doesn't have a name." Larry lied. She did have a name, Dottie.

"Can I name him?"

"Sure." Larry didn't want Cliff to rename her.

"He's name is Sir Wiggleton!" Larry felt like that name was an insult to his little Dottie.

"That's a good name."

"Can I play with him?" Larry hesitated but let him play with her. He quickly regretted that decision when he started playing aggressively. Larry took Dottie away when Cliff got close to tearing one of her arms off.

"No!" Larry held Dottie close.

"But..."

"No hurt Dottie!"

"What's going on in here?" Rama asked, having heard the commotion while walking past.

"Larry said I could play with the ladybug then took him away!"

"Cliff almost took Dottie's arm off!"

"Ok. Cliff. Can you tell me what happened?"

"Lar had a stuffie, let me name him, then said I could play with him, then took him away!"

"Ok. Larry, can you tell me what happened?"

"I was readin, Cliff wanted to play with Dottie, then he almost ripped her arm off!"

"Ok. Larry. You tried to hide that you were little from Cliff-"

"Yous little too?"

"Yes. Larry is little. Dottie the Ladybug is Larry's favorite stuffie. Trying to hide that he was little, he claimed she didn't have a name and let you play with her. To him, you must have started playing too aggressively with her and he got scared." Rama explained.
