My baby Enna was so innocent. Look at her. She was just a child. A child whose head was filled with so many stories; a young lady who loved her family and her books. A child whose life was forever ruined by *Ioreth* and a fiery Maia she thought of as a trusted friend. Her only friend.

She trusted him and he manipulated her, exploited her and eventually betrayed her (no surprise here, though).

The only good thing about this is that he kind of (but not really) set Elenwë up. That's pretty much it, I'd say.

Ooh, that's easy. Best Looking Elf. Ha ha, only kidding! But seriously. Hmm. I would probably say: #1. Warrior - because fighting and defending my homeland has been such an important part of my life. #2. Fun - hey, just because I'm a prince or a warrior doesn't mean that I can't have a sense of humor or like to joke around. I like to have fun, goof off a little. #3. A Friend - because I have been blessed to find unlikely friends, the sort who make me a better person.

3. If you had to swap bodies with anyone in the Fellowship, who would it be?

Uh oh. Now there is no good way to answer this question without getting myself into trouble! Ummm. I would say...ugh, but those hairy feet! I really can't. Can I say Bill the Pony? Does he count? Because being a horse would be pretty cool, minus the part where I have to carry all the pots and pans. Princes should not clank or jingle when they walk.

4. Legolas, have you ever had girlfriends, and if so, how many?

My dear, I am not one to kiss and tell! But just between you and me, I take my relationships VERY seriously. So there was Lord Perliel's daughter, Haniwen. And later I also courted her younger sister, although to be fair, I didn't know they were sisters at the time. And then there was Lady Erlistiel. Oh, and Ladies Aliwen and Celebwen—they were twins and didn't mind a bit, until my father found out and put a stop to it. No sense of fun, Adar— And for a brief time, Lady Arwen (don't tell Aragorn, we agreed he must never find out, and besides our parents were far more into the match than we were.) I also had a bit of fun with Ladies Onarien, Felawen, Galaweth, Meriel...oh and then there was that time I secretly courted my chambermaid, until she decided I was "too high maintenance" - whatever that means. And most recently, I courted a lovely maiden named Lierwen, but sadly, she broke it off on the flimsy excuse that I am not as fun as I used to be before the War. Hurtful, Lierwen. Hurtful. Yeah, none of this sounds good. Can we just strike this answer from the record?

Merry, Eowyn, Elrond

Merry

1-3 things I enjoy about them1. That he’s the clever hobbit. Education doesn’t seem to be a particularly big deal in Hobbiton so it’s kind of important that Merry was so good at problem solving.2. That he wasn’t just going to sit around while everyone else went off to battle. No fight experience, no problem.3. That he wrote about Hobbit legacies. I love charactere who care about history and like to record stuff.

Something interesting about them based on tenuous circumstantial evidenceI always kind of felt that Merry was the least connected with hobbits and hobbit life. Sure, he also gets elected to a position of power within Hobbiton but it seems to be lesser than Sam or Pippin’s positions. I think deep down that while Merry loves where he’s from, a part of him relates just as strongly with Men which is why he goes to Rohan to die and is buried with Aragorn.

A question I have about themI kind of wonder why Merry didn’t have any kids. Was it because Sam pretty much had everyone covered with his 13 kids.A random relevant line I likeI’m not doing these because I’m too lazy to go back into the text.My preferred version, if there is more than one version of their story (or part of their story)Well, I prefer the smarter book!Merry over the movie!Merry who mostly gets high with Pippin. Eowyn

1-3 things I enjoy about them1. That she does not care about traditional gender roles but will take on the responsibility of caring for her uncle in spite of all the shit she had to put up with about it.2. That she grows from her experiences and manages to mostly pull herself out of her depression.3. That she manages to have a romance without in any way compromising who she is or her significant independence.

Something interesting about them based on tenuous circumstantial evidenceI always got the feeling that while I don’t think Eowyn was ever sexually assaulted by Wormtongue, that she was constantly living under a fear for her safety because of him and I imagine that this probably colored her view of men in a big way. That and the added fact that she was probably surrounded by rowdy riders most of her life who I imagine were very kind to her but she definitely heard them talk about women in not so nice ways. I imagine that these experiences kind of hardened her against men in some ways which lead somewhat directly to her desire to marry Aragorn because he was a lot nicer than the guys she was around and he had enough status to make up for any flaws. Marriage to her would be a tool at this point to get her freedom. I imagine that by the time Faramir became a thing for her, she didn’t totally know what to make of “love” and was pretty hesitant towards him in spite of the fact that she loved him.A question I have about themWhat were her jobs as Lady of Ithilien. In my own head she became an actual healer for the community, co-ruler in regards to policy development (and that while Faramir dealt mostly in language and IR, she dealt with numbers), and occasionally would go out patroling the lands for orcs who require head removal.A random relevant line I likeWait, this one I can do:”All your words are but to say: you are a woman, and your part is in the house. But when the men have died in battle and honour, you have leave to be burned in the house, for the men will need it no more. But I am of the House of Erol and not a serving-woman. I can ride and wield blade, and I do not fear either pain or death.”I also like when Faramir is trying to tell her he loves her and she’s just like “speak plainly.” Eowyn doesn’t have time for your poetry.My preferred version, if there is more than one version of their story (or part of their story)I definitely do not prefer the “Tolkien was a gender essentialist so Eowyn is obviously just fulfilling her womenly role by becoming a wife and mother” theory. I mean, yes, she wanted to be useful and prove to herself that she was just as good as the men but she also really wanted to die gloriously. She was stuck in a situation that she didn’t see an escape from and when her one path to escape closed (Aragorn) she pretty much decided that dying in battle was a better alternative to being regulated to women’s work for the rest of her life. It’s somewhat depression and somewhat cultural.

Elrond

1-3 things I enjoy about them1. That he cares about history and record keeping when most other elves are like, “whatever we’re immortal” but Elrond is very, very aware that elves do not necessarily live forever and Men certainly don’t2. That he loved his brother so much that he cared for all his descendents for centuries.3. That he’s probably the most logical person in Middle Earth but is rarely listened to. 

Something interesting about them based on tenuous circumstantial evidenceI think Elrond was kind of the living version of that app in Iceland that makes sure you aren’t related to the person you’re flirting with at the bar. Elven generations are so strange and everyone is lowkey related so he takes it upon himself to keep track of that for everyone’s sake. I imagine this specific part of record keeping came when he met Celebrian and was like, “I love her but also she’s Galadriel’s daughter so how are we related….”I also imagine that he tried to spend as much time as possible with his brother while he was alive but because of Elvish perceptions of time, it wasn’t nearly enough time and that he regretted it forever.

A question I have about themI really want to know more about his upbringing and how his relationships with his parents, both birth and adopted, were. He’s genetically linked to the House of Fingolfin and the House of Thingol and then got kidnapped adopted by the two remaining sons of Feanor. That has to have created a very open, tolerent kind of person. I also imagine that this weird upbringing relates to his interest in history even before his brother decided to be human. By the time Elrond is born, almost all the Nolder in Beleraind are dead and much of the land has been destoryed and yet no one has taken it upon themselves to write about it. Elrond is born at the end of an age and all this history came before him that he missed.My preferred version, if there is more than one version of their story (or part of their story)Pretty sure there’s only one canon version but I do like the idea that he was on good terms with all his Finweans family members in the second age: Celebrimbor, Gil-Galad, and Galadriel.

Favorite relationship(s)Elrond and his brother or Elrond and his wife even though most of it is speculative.

How would they react to Tom BombadilHe’s ready with his quill and parchment to interview the hell out of him.Optional: Something about them that I think people forgetI think people forget how young Elrond is compared to other elves because of the prominent position he has in the Third Age. Of the Second Age House Of Finwe, Galadriel is the oldest being third generation, Celebrimbor is fourth generation, Gil-Galad is fifth (going with my preferred interpertation where he’s Orodreth’s son), and Elrond is sixth. He is young.

Tulisa and Daron

My ace babies 😊

I've been obsessed with them for the whole day. These two may have a pretend marriage (that's basically what it is at the beginning), but it actually might be the chillest couple in all of Gondor. They truly understand one another, they become besties, they share many interests and their relationship isn't based on sex/lust. They talk to one another about pretty much everything and Tulisa might be the only woman in Gondor not to have to worry about her husband cheating. Their dynamic will be very interesting to write. It's basically two best friends (with no benefits) getting married. Also, the way I characterized is based on what I read on the internet, so if I portray some aspects inaccurately you're very welcome to let me know!

Coming up with their names was kind of hard. I tried to translate the names of the actors/characters they potrayed in their respective shows into Sindarin and Quenya but none of the variants I found fully convinced. So I basically reverted to the most basic things I could think of. I do like their names though. I suppose their ship name is Dulisa? The other variant I came up with is Turon, but I don't like it as much. Oh, well...Tulisa it is then.

I originally wanted to make him either gay or bi, but then I thought that it had already been done before (and Renly is already gay in GOT so I wanted to try something different). I read on Reddit that ace guys are not that common, is it true? I honestly don't know that much about the topic and, as I mentioned earlier, my characterization of them is based of what I read online, so if anyone has tips to make such a relationship accurate and respectful, please let me know! She's aro/ace but he's just ace (I read that a person could not necessarily be both, hence the fact that he's just ace. He does feel romantic attraction and I think he might take up poetry to express his feelings. If he ever meets Erionwë, he definitely will).

Remember the Sauron x OC fic I was obsessed with weeks ago?

That fic features Moyeldë, one of my Maiarin OCs who will also be featured in The Lady of Ithilien as one of the main antagonists. As Moyeldë means "slave-daughter" I thought it would be fitting to also give the character a pre-Morgoth name.

I've been thinking about it and I am proud to announce I finally came up with something I like. I find naming characters kind of hard, but I think Carassëa simply fits. It's a blend of caran (Sindarin for the color red) and alassëa (Quenya for 'happy' and 'joyous').

The main fancast for Carassëa/Moyeldë is Meryem Uzerli and her role as Hürrem Sultan in the show Muhteşem Yüzyıl (Magnificent Century). The name Hürrem means joyful in Turkish so you could say it's more or less a direct translation of the name. Hürrem's birth name was originally Alexandra and I thought it'd be a nice nod to her to have Carassëa change her name once she became a servant of Morgoth's and entered Mairon's "harem" in Angband- similarly to how Alexandra became Hürrem once she entered Sultan Suleiman's harem in the 1500s.

This is a little edit showing her Almaren era as a child, her First Age/pre-fall of Númenor era and her Fourth Age era.

I still have to come up with a satisfactory backstory for her, but I do have some ideas.

She's always had a massive crush on Mairon and was always around him. Eönwë had a soft spot for her (he has a massive soft spot for children) and whenever the two of them met, she was there as well. This is somewhat of an important detail since she'll be straight up murdering Eönwë and Elenna's children and Eönwë will execute her because of it. The Herald of Manwë used to love and dote on Carassëa so I think you can only imagine the shock and the pain he'll feel when she at last tells him who she really is. He'll be heartbroken and nearly stop the execution, but he'll be forced to kill her when she tries to do the same to him. Carassëa fell because of her obsession with Mairon. She was desperately in love with him and this led her to leave Almaren though she did not even particularly want to. She liked it there and loved Nessa, her former mistress. She had friends and was a dutiful, kind girl. She just valued Mairon above everything else and that was definitely a major mistake on her part. Blinded by love and obsession, she left everything behind her and followed him without even knowing what she was doing, becoming more and more ruthless. She created a new identity for herself and chose to forsake everything the Valar had taught her to be with the Maia she loved. She lied, tortured and killed for him. And he eventually abandoned her and left her to die. I plan to have her realize Mairon never cared about her just moments before she dies (just right after Eönwë finishes her. She'll have a moment of clarity and she'll probably beg for mercy before she drops dead. Mairon may be watching with a smirk on his face. Eönwë is basically doing him a favor at that point. He wouldn't mind killing her himself- that's not the point. I think he'll just be over her by then. He's completely uninterested in her eventually and cannot be bothered to off her because...she's been around for so long he's just done with her. So much for love, I suppose)

Erionwë, the general with a knack for poetry and Elarien, Enna's bestie. The Valar knew what they were doing when they paired these two up. They're clearly thinking of one another in this edit. They're so precious. Their baby girl is too. Their snippet is still in the works, but, hey, I hope you like this edit of them.

Cousins 😊

Enna and her Half-elven cousin Erien. She's a late addition to my LOI character profiles and she's Boromir's daughter. She was raised in Rivendell and trained by Elladan and Elrohir, she has a twin brother named after their father. Yes, you got it right. Boromir son of...Boromir. The twins' mother is an Elf-maiden I'm sure Boromir had some feelings for, but of course they could not reunite because I'm an evil person and I'm following canon.

As Boromir was unmarried (and most likely already a corpse) when his children were born, the twins are illegitimate and the lady of ithilien will dismiss them because of it. They'll grow close as the years go by though and Enna will name her third child and second son after "Boromir son of Boromir" (it sounds like a tongue-twister in my head, could you help me in coming up with a decent nickname that isn't "B" or something like that? Though I really like B, I think it's pretty basic. Opinions and suggestions are welcome 🤗)

I really like this edit and I'll probably make more. I honestly would love to make an edit of an AU where Boromir survives and meets his children. Too bad I don't have a faceclaim for their Elven mom yet. She may or may not show up eventually.

Erien and her brother (fancast: Max Irons) are still very underdeveloped, but I can't wait to write about them. They joined the party really late, but I really like them. They're among my favorite characters and I think they deserve a whole spin-off dedicated to them.

Elenna "Enna" & Elerion

He's not really well developed as a character yet...but I love them together and plan to write many scenes about them in LOI. He's her brother, her biological brother, all that is left of her family. He's two years her senior and lived in Gondor for a whole twenty-five years without even knowing what had happened to his sister. He probably thought she was dead. And then Faramir and Aragorn summon him to court to meet her once Enna is told the truth about her family. Enna lashes out at them both (and rightly so, I think) and cuts Faramir off. She'll keep visiting her stepmama Finduilas, Elboron, Fae and Eradan, but Faramir will be cut off from her life completely. She'll keep loving him, but she certainly won't be around him. She feels utterly betrayed by both Éowyn AND Faramir and she doesn't handle betrayal very well. Contrarily to yours truly, she can let go of people very easily. Yes, she feels like crap about it, she suffers and cries about it, but she's VERY stubborn and once you lose her trust... well, there's not much you can do about it.

She will bestow several titles upon her brother but he rejects them all because he only wants her affection and his only wish is to be in her life in any way she wants. He was protective of his baby sister when he was barely a toddler and he's protective of her once he's adult as well. He'll marry Nîlubên, a cousin to Nûlbahar.

A bit of info on their family tree.

Nûlbahar is Şehzade Orhan's half-sister as they share the same father (the current ruling Sultan) but they have different mothers.

For reference, this is Orhan (faceclaim: Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu). He's one of the many princes of Harad—I think there's more than one—and he'll marry Fae, Enna's younger sister.

Orhan's mother is the Sultan's Haseki and legal wife, while Nûlbahar's is an ordinary concubine.

Nîlubên is the daughter of the Sultan's younger sister and technically is not entitled to the rank of Sultana since it's normally bestowed upon daughters of the Sultan only. Nîlubên is basically an exception. Her uncle loves her very much and gave her the title even though she shouldn't have it. She'll probably lose it when she marries Elerion, but I'd pick a quiet life in Annúminas as well. Plus, the girl is in love so she doesn't think about titles.

Let me introduce you to...

Nárael (one of Enna's Maiarin ladies-in-waiting, check my character profiles if you want to know more) and her...girlfriend. Her girlfriend is literally my newest OC (I created her, like, ten minutes ago) and I think she's an Elf. Her name is Ëaris.

So, I guess their ship name is Nëaris?

Poor Nárael will fall in love with her and feel really guilty about it (someone tell her that falling in love with an elleth is not as bad as trying to destroy and enslave the whole of Middle-earth). She'll have a hard time trying to understand that.

Ahmir + Eledhwen

Both of them are OCs. She's Halbarad's eldest daughter and he's a Haradrim lord. He was originally supposed to die in some sort of tragic, horrific way, but I think I'll spare him? They're so cute, I really don't want to tear them apart.

Alas, I am a sucker for angst and drama so...who knows what will happen. She was supposed to fall in love with a major canon character after Ahmir's death.

Currently writing a snippet about these two because I really need to start developing characters that are not Elenwë and/or their family. My second favorite Maiarin/Human couple. Ëonwë's youngest general and Enna's bestie.

Starring William Moseley as Erionwë & Pelin Karahan as Elarien. I still haven't thought about a ship name for these two lovely babies, but I think Elarië would be a decent one? Erionwen?

I also changed things up and decided Giluen will be their daughter. She was originally supposed to Enna's daughter from her marriage to Elphirion (and Anárion's twin sister), but I think she works much better as Erionwë's only daughter (I don't think he and Elarien will have more).

That's my faceclaim for baby/young Giluen and I think she's perfect. She looks like Elarien (I think it kind of helps that the actress plays a young version of Pelin's character in her show). She obviously gets her hair color from her dad. Though she's half-Maia and half-Human, she is included in my Gondorian ocs profiles.
