You’ve most likely answered this before but what breed exactly is Machete? I’ve been trying to figure it out for a while I’ve thought maybe a saluki but the ears arnt right.

In theory his breed is fictional Podenco Siciliano, but he's not a purebred example. Out of existing dog breeds he looks closest to (and is related to) Ibizan Hound.

But sometimes I see Silken Windhounds that also kind of remind me of him. They just don't have the characteristic bat ears.

#I usually just default to calling him a sighthound #I feel like that tells you enough about what kind of dog he is without going off on needlessly convoluted breed tangents #answered #anonymous #Machete #Vaschete lore #I don't own any of these photos I'm just showing them as demonstration #specific breeds and breed names aren't a thing in-universe #I don't think they call each other labradors and poodles and schnauzers even if that's what they look like to us #different dog types emerge as result of natural variation and certain characteristics become family traits #but in practice everyone is mixed #I'm just assigning some of them more or less fitting real world breeds for convenience's sake #it's just such a quick and easy way to describe the look of any given dog
