(1.) — Robe élégante pour fillette de 12 à 13 ans, en voile bleu pastel. La jupe s'orne sur trois rangs de volants pèlerine découpés en créneaux. Le corsage à repincés blouse au-dessous d'un empiècement découpé comme les volants de la jupe. À la manche, la même disposition présente un arrangement ingénieux. Des plis se développent librement pour fournir une large pagode sur un bouffant également à repincés. Ceinture drapée en soie molle.

(1.) — Elegant dress for girls aged 12 to 13, in pastel blue voile. The skirt is decorated with three rows of pelerine ruffles cut into crenellations. The bodice has a blouse re-pinched below a cut-out yoke like the skirt's ruffles. On the sleeve, the same layout presents an ingenious arrangement. Pleats develop freely to provide a wide pagoda over an equally pin-pinched bouffant. Soft silk draped belt.

(2.) — Robe pour fillette de 11 à 12 ans, en lainage quadrillé rouge deux tons. Sur la jupe à godets des galons brodés noir sur blanc simulent un empiècement arrondi; des ganses fines ou des plis fins dessinent des crosses. Le corsage est plissé sous un col découpé dont un galon entoure l'encolure; guimpe en linon. Manche garnie comme la jupe avec le poignet réservé dans la coupe. Ceinture semblable aux galons.

(2.) — Dress for girls aged 11 to 12, in two-tone red checkered wool. On the godet skirt, black-on-white embroidered braids simulate a rounded yoke; fine braids or fine folds outline crooks. The bodice is pleated under a cut collar with braid surrounding the neckline; lawn wimple. Sleeve trimmed like the skirt with the cuff reserved in the cut. Belt similar to braids.

Matériaux: 3 mètres de lainage 1m,20.

(3.) — Robe pour fillette de 10 à 12 ans, en toile bise. Jupe à plis ronds repincés de plis lingerie en cerceaux. Boléro plissé comme la jupe sur une haute ceinture écossaise nouée devant en longs pans. Empiècement d'irlande couvrant le haut de la manche que soulignent des plis cerceaux. La manche plisse dans un poignet d'irlande.

(3.) — Dress for girls aged 10 to 12, in beige canvas. Skirt with round pleats re-pinched with hoop lingerie pleats. Pleated bolero like the skirt on a high tartan belt tied in front in long sections. Irish yoke covering the top of the sleeve highlighted by hoop pleats. The sleeve pleats into an Irish cuff.

Preparations

THE journals of the day which said that that nearly impregnable structure of the barricade of the Rue de la Chanvrerie, as they call it, reached to the level of the first floor, were mistaken. The fact is, that it did not exceed an average height of six or seven feet. It was built in such a manner that the combatants could, at their will, either disappear behind it or dominate the barrier and even scale its crest by means of a quadruple row of paving-stones placed on top of each other and arranged as steps in the interior. On the outside, the front of the barricade, composed of piles of paving-stones and casks bound together by beams and planks, which were entangled in the wheels of Anceau's dray and of the overturned omnibus, had a bristling and inextricable aspect.

An aperture large enough to allow a man to pass through had been made between the wall of the houses and the extremity of the barricade which was furthest from the wine-shop, so that an exit was possible at this point. The pole of the omnibus was placed upright and held up with ropes, and a red flag, fastened to this pole, floated over the barricade.

The little Mondétour barricade, hidden behind the wine-shop building, was not visible. The two barricades united formed a veritable redoubt. Enjolras and Courfeyrac had not thought fit to barricade the other fragment of the Rue Mondétour which opens through the Rue des Prêcheurs an issue into the Halles, wishing, no doubt, to preserve a possible communication with the outside, and not entertaining much fear of an attack through the dangerous and difficult street of the Rue des Prêcheurs.

With the exception of this issue which was left free, and which constituted what Folard in his strategical style would have termed a branch, and taking into account, also, the narrow cutting arranged on the Rue de la Chanvrerie, the interior of the barricade, where the wine-shop formed a salient angle, presented an irregular square, closed on all sides. There existed an interval of twenty paces between the grand barrier and the lofty houses which formed the background of the street, so that one might say that the barricade rested on these houses, all inhabited, but closed from top to bottom.

All this work was performed without any hindrance, in less than an hour, and without this handful of bold men seeing a single bear-skin cap or a single bayonet make their appearance. The very bourgeois who still ventured at this hour of riot to enter the Rue Saint-Denis, cast a glance at the Rue de la Chanvrerie, caught sight of the barricade, and redoubled their pace.

The two barricades being finished, and the flag run up, a table was dragged out of the wine-shop; and Courfeyrac mounted on the table.

Enjolras brought the square coffer, and Courfeyrac opened it. This coffer was filled with cartridges. When the mob saw the cartridges, a tremor ran through the bravest, and a momentary silence ensued.

Courfeyrac distributed them with a smile.

Each one received thirty cartridges. Many had powder, and set about making others with the bullets which they had run.

As for the barrel of powder, it stood on a table on one side, near the door, and was held in reserve.

The alarm beat which ran through all Paris, did not cease, but it had finally come to be nothing more than a monotonous noise to which they no longer paid any attention. This noise retreated at times, and again drew near, with melancholy undulations.

They loaded the guns and carbines, all together, without haste, with solemn gravity. Enjolras went and stationed three sentinels outside the barricades, one in the Rue de la Chanvrerie, the second in the Rue des Prêcheurs, the third at the corner of the Rue de la Petite Truanderie.

Then, the barricades having been built, the posts assigned, the guns loaded, the sentinels stationed, they waited, alone in those redoubtable streets through which no one passed any longer, surrounded by those dumb houses which seemed dead and in which no human movement palpitated, enveloped in the deepening shades of twilight which was drawing on, in the midst of that silence through which something could be felt advancing, and which had about it something tragic and terrifying, isolated, armed, determined, and tranquil.

Halloween is making me think of Top Gun Maverick Horror Movie AUs and now I wish I could actual write because I think some of them have promise!

My mind is currently obsessed with:

A Hocus Pocus Hangster Story where Jake is Binx (because who else can pull off that sassy black cat energy) and Bradley is the idiot that lights the candle (maybe you have to have a tarnish soul- taken a life- in order to bring them back instead of the virgin storyline).

A House of Wax Hannix Story (a la 2005 version with Paris Hilton) with the Daggers, Jake and Javy going on a road trip to a college football game but becoming victims to a sadistic town not quite what it seems. Natasha begins the story dating a broody, bad at communication Rooster but if you're familar with the movie you know things don't end well for a lot of characters- sorry Rooster fans....

A Vampire Story where the Daggers are in the running for a new mission but this one involves taking off and landing on a carrier at night. The Navy brings in another team called the Nocturnals, an elite squadron known for their night raids, and who Fanboy might be convinced are actually vampires!

My Ghost Whisperer Story which I shared before: Goose is given the chance to go down to Earth to try and stop his son and his best friend from dying in a suicide mission. The only problem: he can only communicate through his son's sworn enemy, one Jake Hangman Seresin. Can he save his family or are some bridges too far burned to fix?

Final Destination AU- Also talked about before but Jake gets a vision before the mission of everything going wrong and the whole team dying. He freaks out and tries to stop the launch but the others think he is just jealous for not being picked. As punches start getting thrown, Admiral Simpson has no choice but to launch the Dagger Reserves, and suddenly everything Jake predicted starts to come true. Crushed with guilt, Hangman must deal with the suspicion of his teammates and his country while trying to save everyone from Death's remade design.

So yeahhhhhh that's where my head is at! Would love to hear people's thoughts on it.

ch.5: les amants d’un jour the apologetic neighbor seems to be drawn to you. for whatever's worth, he promises it's just for the night. you realize a few things about love and friendship and growth.

ch.6: sur le fil you finally get to see levi drunk and it's a sight for the books. your friend group decides to be teenagers again and play truth or dare. there's a lot of truth and just enough dare.

Let’s go for the funny things first.

Charles Lee will become Ratonhnhaké:ton and his siblings’ reluctant emergency babysitter. There is no escape. This is his fate. Charles Lee is that annoying ‘uncle’ that sucks up to their father too much so they don’t like him.

Shay could be everyone’s favorite uncle but I doubt it since we’re keeping Abigail and Connor alive. One of the hints that Achilles wasn’t fit to be the mentor was the conversation Shay and Liam had about how the death of his family changed him. Also, I stand by my headcanon that Abigail acted like everyone’s mother and she helped kept Achilles grounded and reminded him to not be brash. So there’s a high possibility that Shay wouldn’t defect in this one but would probably become distant with the Brotherhood due to Lisbon, acting more like a Rogue Assassin that focuses on making sure any Isu-related devices wouldn’t be used by either faction. So Shay could be an uncle of sort but more like ‘that annoying man who keeps getting in everyone’s way’.

Connor Davenport would definitely be an Assassin and might even be trained by Shay himself (although it’s more possible that he’d be trained by his father, Hope and Liam). He would also inherit the Aquila and, if Shay doesn’t become a Templar, he’d see Adéwalé as his sailing instructor as well.

Now, Ratonhnhaké:ton and Laura would have no problem becoming Templars. Hell, they could have looked up to their father and wanted to follow his footsteps. Even if Kaniehtí:io had reservations about it, she wouldn’t stop them from following their desires, only stopping them long enough to remind them to always think about their actions and taking responsibility of the consequences of their actions. The Templars in this one would definitely side with the tribes because Haytham is not impartial anymore and none of the Templars would disagree with him.

And that’s where we will hammer in the angst. Because the youngest of the Kenway children is Desmond Kenway and he remembers his life as Desmond Miles. Becoming a Templar would feel like a betrayal not only to the memories of Altaïr and Ezio but of the Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton. He loves his family, he truly does, but there are many times when he wondered if this life of theirs was better than the life Ratonhnhaké:ton had back in the original timeline. Sure, he had lost his mother and he was forced to kill his father but… would the world truly be better if he lets the Templar take over America?

Can he truly kill the Assassins trying to stop them? (Even if some of them were dealing with the morally dubious part of the cities?)

Honestly, this can go either way with Desmond. Either he followed the path of the Templar to change it form the inside, becoming a beacon to the moderate Templars like Monsieur de la Serre and his cohorts in Paris and pushing for peace with the Assassin (which will lead him to be in conflict with Haytham who doesn’t believe that the two faction would ever be at peace) or he leaves the family he loves and becomes an Assassin to stand against them (and maybe having some kind of “are we allies? Are we enemies? What are we???” relationship with Connor Davenport).

Either way, there’s gonna be Kenway drama and it’s definitely going to be because of Desmond Kenway.

(sidebar: even if Desmond becomes a Templar, he would definitely have a “are you my enemy or are you trying to help me???” relationship with Connor Davenport, mainly because he still remembers the sadness Ratonhnhaké:ton felt when he heard of how Achilles lost everything and because Connor Davenport is pretty much the most acceptable Assassin in America at the moment. Laura and Ratonhnhaké:ton would definitely mistake this to some kind of forbidden love, no matter what Desmond says. Haytham would stress that he isn’t mad that Desmond likes men, just disappointed that Desmond likes an Assassin. Kaniehtí:io believes Desmond doesn’t have any romantic feelings for Connor Davenport but also she enjoys seeing her family get overworked by something like this.)

Sunday 28th, red carpet in Ostende, Belgium. Afterparty, etc. Perhaps not the best idea to pop in a car all'alba/at daybreak for an almost 5 hour ride to Paris.

Monday 29th, not much. We can speculate, but I would need an Advil. Most probably on this way to Paris. I doubt the Eurostar (the train formerly known as Thalys) was worth a Brussels detour and, while they used to have an Ostende-Paris direct link, it was dropped off around 2015. Why take a 90 minutes' detour (119 km!) to get to the Bruxelles Midi Train Station and hop on the Paris direct Eurostar link for the 90 minute ride, when you could only add (roughly) an hour by car and leave directly from Ostende?

I am immediately having visions of the horrendously impractical hullaballoo at Bruxelles Midi and to me, it's a firm no. @margareth-lv 's guess of a direct car trip is the most logical one and I am sticking with it. Paris pic was posted on Wednesday morning and he was staying at the Hôtel Lutétia, as I heavily hinted in my post (it used to be the Nazi Abwehr/Military Intelligence HQ during World War II). Probably one of the corner suites (angle of rue de Sèvres and Boulevard Raspail), hotel has a very good seafood restaurant, too.
