Repost from @megsmylove • DAD, YOU EARNED YOUR ANGEL WINGS 💜😇 My Dad passed peacefully on January 27, 2022 holding my Mom’s hand. A true blessing. They met on July 18th, 1955 in Ocean City NJ - Dad knew she was the one and 6 months later on December 26, 1955 they were married. “You hardly know each other, are you sure?” Asked my Nonny. “ I’m sure. I know he will love me forever!” 💜 And that he did - and she, him. Anyone that knew my Dad either personally or professionally knows my Mom. She began as the women behind her good man but that quickly changed and they spent their lives beside one another - loving, supporting, encouraging and enjoying each other every moment. Even these past couple years, Dad in a wheelchair battling Dementia, they still never left one another’s side. Dad was such a loving father and for me being the youngest daughter with 3 older brothers, was the best of everything. Dad loved his job - an Elementary School Principal from the time he was 26, & huge advocate for education. He taught me that the key to happiness was to do what you love - work hard, be fair, honest, kind, loyal, SMILE, have a firm handshake, a positive approach, look people in the eye, pay bills on time, never leave money on the street (even 10 cents lost or won in a game of Gin), be a great host and have FUN. All things easy to learn as Dad led by example. His relationship advice was to be a team and love, nurture, laugh with and respect each other. He ❤️ @odddc (a fellow @kutztownu grad) He didn’t always quite understand the art or our creative path but he truly was proud of our happiness & successes, and like he and Mom, the love that we share for each other. I would say “How are you feeling Dad?” His reply “If I felt any better I would be Todd Diciurcio.” 😂 We shared so many happy times & laughs all together especially at the beach house. CHEERS to you Dad. Proud of you. 🙏🏻❤️ for always being there for me. ❤️ I know I was there for you too! Now you’re Mom’s angel - wait patiently for her. The dynamics of power in colonialization and migration are complex and nuanced and are often reflected in art across regions and time. Our panelists will delve into their own work dissecting art, power, and migration in their 15-minute talks, followed by an open forum for questions. . . This panel discussion is presented in collaboration with the #50StatesInitiative by @ForFreedoms. #ForFreedoms Federation encourages new forms of critical discourse. Their mission is to use art as a vehicle to build greater participation in #AmericanDemocracy. Since 2016, For Freedoms has produced exhibitions, town hall meetings, billboards, and public art to spur greater participation in #civiclife. This year, For Freedoms launched the 50 State Initiative, a new phase of programming from September through December 2018 during the lead-up to the midterm elections. Building off of the existing artistic infrastructure in the United States, For Freedoms has developed a network of artists and institutional partners who will produce nationwide public art installations, exhibitions, and local-community dialogues in order to inject nuanced, artistic thinking into public discourse.
