a/n: welcome to my xmas special for the kuroko no basuke boys !! as usual, i chose to write for GOM (minus kuroko) + kagami. ALSO i realized i never ever specified that, in every single one of my pieces for knb, all of the GOM + kagami are aged up to college. pls enjoy 🎄

akashi seijuurou’s favorite christmas tradition is attending a christmas concert. he always remembers how his mother would help him get all dressed up, how his father would actually turn off his phone for the evening, they’d go to a lovely dinner, and then they’d . but now his mother’s gone and his father is consumed by his work—so he goes with you! it’s different of course, but he loves being able to see you dressed up just for him and take you out to a nice dinner, just the two of you. no teammates allowed. 

seijuurou is the perfect gentleman all night, keeping a strong arm around your waist and pressing his side into yours for warmth while you make the short walk from the restaurant to the concert hall. and once the concert hall lights are dimmed, he’s intertwining his fingers with yours and caressing the back of your hand with his thumb, whispering a sweet merry christmas, my love to you before pressing a kiss to your temple.

aomine daiki can be found napping by the fireplace like a big cat as soon as it gets just a little bit cold outside. is he planning on doing anything else once he’s stretched out by the fire? nope. is he moaning and groaning for you to come lay down next to him while you’re decorating your place for the holidays? yep. 

“oi, you’re making too much noise…can’t fall asleep.” daiki complains, earning a narrow eyed glare from you. 

“dai, if you would just help—”  you yelp as you feel your arm getting tugged down, ending up on your butt. daiki hasn't even opened his eyes, but he's pulling you down till your face is pressed into his chest.

“chill. i'll help you after we get some shut eye, aight?” daiki drones, placing his hand on your ass to keep you in place and resting his chin on top of your head. you just sigh and relax, leaning against daiki and reluctantly reveling in the warmth of him and the fire.

kagami taiga and ice skating do not mix. taiga had thought it’d be fun and romantic to take you on an ice skating date for christmas eve. you’d be clinging to the side of the rink and he’d be your tall and steady hero, ready to glide around the ice with you clinging to him as your savior. he did not expect for it to be the other way around.

“s-s-slow down, y/n!” kagami stutters as you slowly glide to the edge of the rink so he can have something more tangible to hold on to. your shoulders were sore from the way your hulking boyfriend had been gripping them as you lead him around the ice.  

“i’d have thought someone who’s such a capable athlete wouldn’t be so terrible at ice skating.” you purse your lips, unable to keep the teasing smile from spreading across your lips. “do basketball players not have to have balance?”

“shut up!” taiga huffs as he slaps his palms down onto the railing of the rink. he turns to you with a pout on his lips. “i’ll get the hang of it soon…you’ll see!” his blush is spreading to the tips of his ears and you know he undoubtedly feels embarrassed. you skate over to him and press your body against his, backing him up against the edge of the rink and leaning up to place a quick kiss to his nose.

“i believe in you, taiga.”

kise ryouta loves watching christmas movies! a cozy, plush throw wrapped around his shoulders, fuzzy socks on his feet, a nice cup of hot cocoa in his hands, and you cuddled into his side. his favorite movie is the very old, claymation rudolph the red nose reindeer because he just adores the blonde elf who aspires to be a dentist. i feel so connected to him somehow! kise always says, excitedly pointing at the screen when the elf first shows up in the movie. 

he’ll sing along to every single song, grabbing you by the shoulders and swaying the two of you along to the beat or picking up your hands and making them move along to the melody. and, of course, without fail, he will bawl his eyes out when rudolph is chosen to lead santa’s sleigh on christmas eve. 

“ryou, you’ve watched this movie every year for as long as you’ve known yourself…why do you cry every time?” you tease, reaching up to gently pinch his cheeks, already red from crying.

ryouta wraps his arms tighter around you, pulling you against his chest like you’re a big plushie, and buries his face in your hair.

“i can’t help it! he’s head reindeer…just like his dad!” ryouta sniffles, holding you close. you just giggle and hug him back, trying to comfort your big baby because of an eighty year old movie.

midorima shintarou hates going to the christmas market. not because you’re there—you’re actually the only reason his team gets to enjoy his presence at the market. he hates it because his entire team shows up and is dragging him around the market, asking him which little knick knacks he enjoys. his team knows that shintarou is a difficult man to shop for, so they like to take him to the christmas market and get his direct opinion on things.

shintarou the introvert finds this little tradition exhausting; being pulled every which way, giving his opinion on every single little thing that his friends might think he likes, having to explain that he is not a collector, nanodayo and that he just needs them for his lucky items.

shintarou’s favorite part of the evening is when his friends say goodnight and leave you and him to wander the christmas market on your own. you always have to calm him down after his friends leave, because they really do bring up straight to his boiling pot and leave you to bring the heat down to a simmer.

he decides this is nice, though, since no one’s asking him if he likes this or that or if he’d smile if he happened to get this for christmas. he’s not too keen on PDA, but he will take your hand in his and hold it gently while you walk through the various stalls (again). it’s just you and him, your intertwined hands, and the little trails of frozen carbon dioxide you leave in puffs behind you. 

murasakibara atsushi is competitive when it comes to decorating christmas cookies. he will constantly be looking over your shoulder at your work and making little quips and comments about what you should have done.

“i didn’t know you were such a professional, sushi.” you say, eyes focused and brows furrowed as you move the piping bag in various circles and half moons along the golden, baked dough of the cookies.

“of course, i am. this is literally my job.” atsushi drones, expertly icing the cookies and using a fine tip piping bag to draw intricate decorations on top. you glance over at his cookies and notice how perfect they are. damn, you really didn’t realize he was a literal professional. 

unfortunately for you, you stay admiring atsushi’s cookies for too long and leave yours unprotected from selfish, needy hands. atsushi swiftly moves behind you, moving you to the side with his hands on your hips, then swipes a half iced cookie from your baking sheet.

“murasakibara atsushi! i wasn’t done with that one!” you gently beat your fist against atsushi’s solid chest, causing him to huff in protest.

“doesn’t matter, looks like shit anyways.” atsushi hums and finishes the cookie in one bite, licking his fingers happily. “tastes delicious, though.” atsushi smiles and turns back to your baking sheet, looming over the rest of your cookies. you move between him and the counter and spread your arms wide, hoping to guard your cookies from the ex basketball player turned pastry chef. 

“i can offer you something sweeter if you leave my cookies alone!” you plead. atsushi raises an eyebrow at you as if to say gimme it then and you smile innocently at him. you turn your head to the side and tap your cheek with your index finger.

atsushi understands your gesture and a deep chuckle rumbles up from his chest as he leans in to place a frosting speckled peck to your cheek.

“y/n-chin knows i can’t resist her. my favorite treat.”

You’ve been trying to talk yourself out of it all morning.

Imagining all the possible worst-case scenarios, completing every “what-if?” that you could think of. mentally listing reason after reason as to why you shouldn’t do what you were just moments away from doing.

And yet here you were, grabbing the attention of the guy that’s shared the seat next to you since the first day of your first year at Seirin.

“Hey Kagami,” you leaned over in your seat closer to him, drawing him away from watching the clouds that passed outside. “You have a few minutes? I need to talk to you.”

He quirked an eyebrow at you, a bit worried at how serious you sounded but curious as to what it is you had to tell him.

It gave you butterflies and a mini heart attack at the same time.

muraksakibara didn’t like it when it rained. rainy days meant he couldn’t go out to the store and buy snacks. it also meant you couldn’t come over. he didn’t like it when you weren’t with him.

you were nice to him that’s why. and you would always bring him tons of snacks, and you’d bake with for him, and you always find him new cafes to eat at. he didn’t like it when you weren’t around but he loved it when you were.

and he was really really glad when he found out out you also loved it when you two were together. that’s why you two are together now. and that’s also why you were lying next to him on the couch in one of his sweaters just scrolling through your phone absentmindedly. he had one lazy arm around you and the other in a bag of chips you had bought for him.

“hey atsushi”

“hmm?”

“it’s getting late i gotta go home to study.”

“but you just got here,” he whined as he tightened his hold around you.

“i’ve been here for the past 5 hours babe”

you looked up and saw him pouting. he was adorable, as always, and you didn’t really want to leave yet. besides, it’s not like you needed to study.

“ok fine, i’ll stay for a bit more.”

his face brightened up immediately and he relaxed his arm around you.

a few minutes later, you heard a light pitter patter coming from outside. it was the familiar sound of the early droplets of rain. within a minute, it was pouring. you looked out the window a little worried. there’s no way you’d be going home in this weather.

murasakibara noticed too and said, “it’s raining. that means y/n-chin will be staying longer right?”

you stared up at his hopeful eyes that tugged at your heartstrings and couldn’t help but give him a light pat on the head.

the two of you got to work. you pulled the pillows off the couches and started piling them to the floor. atsushi went to get some blankets as per your instructions but came back with some jell-o instead. after some light scolding and a promise of a reward, he went back and got the blankets.

after about 20 minutes, the rain still hadn’t stopped. you and (half of) atsushi were lying next to each other inside the now completed pillow fort. the clutter of pillows, blankets, and one murasakibara atsushi made the pillow fort feel like heaven. it was warm and comfy and soft and you felt like you were going to just melt.

you were so relaxed you didn’t notice the large hand slowing making it’s way around your torso until you were pulled into a tight hug.

“y/n-chin...” he whispered into your ear lazily.

“hm?”

“i love you.”

you smiled and gave him a peck on the cheek.

he’s not great at sign languages if you speak one and try to teach him (and obviously you’re not going to see if he’s using his eyebrows to signal a question or summat) - but, goes without saying, he learns the signed curses you teach him to perfection

Imayoshi Shouichi

imayoshi’s probably the best of the bunch to date, if you’re not keen on speaking, cause he can understand what you’re thinking, just from your behaviour/facial expressions, better than any of the others ever could

that said, he learns to sign basic jsl in his spare time to surprise you and he’s good at remembering to enunciate if you need him to (and good at scolding his teammates if they’re mumbling and you’ve got not your hearing aids in)

the only flaw really is that, if the two of you are in an argument, he practically becomes a ventriloquist just to piss you off

(disclaimer: i'm not hard of hearing so let me know if i made any mistakes with this. also you literally never have to apologise for bad eng cause a) the likelihood of anyone knowing you've not a native speaker is 0, cause everyone makes typos and b) being bi/multi-lingual is always dope)

if you’re a painter/artist

will ask you to draw a portrait of him (cause he's vain), but, at the same time, he’s awful at staying still to pose

(he’s still for a few minutes, then starts lowkey flirting with you and trying to distract you)

he describes it as teaching you to work under pressure

also don’t expect him to not snatch your sketchbook away when you try and hide what you’re drawing

he understands insecurity in theory, but why would you hide your stuff from him? it can't be that shit, can it?

the thing is nash won’t go out of his way to criticise your art (unless he hates you, but healthy relationship hcs only today), but he’s not going to lie and say it’s good if it’s not

so say you try drawing a giraffe for the first time and the proportions are all wonky

insert a very obviously sarcastic “damn, you’re soo talented” peppered with him snickering while you scold him for being mean

(he can’t help being a prick. but at least he’s loveable anyway)

and if you draw him a cool design, he’ll get it tattooed on himself too :)

Not sure if this has been asked before but, do you think any of the KiriDai or Imayoshi would fall for someone who's got a shitty personality as them (the KiriDai at least)? Not like hurting a person physically but very spiteful and antisocial kind of girl? Why or why not?

i don’t think of being antisocial as having a shitty personality; spitefulness can be, but it varies a lot person to person. anyway, so i’ve gone for would they like those specific traits in a s/o instead.

Imayoshi Shouichi - Would he like you, maybe date you? Yes. Would he truly fall for you? It’s 50/50. The thing is, he'd enjoy approaching you when it’s clear you don’t want to talk to anyone, and he’d find your spiteful nature entertaining (especially cause he can guess perfectly just how much you hate others and his presence. And he’s also very good at making mean comments!), but up to a point. Those traits make him interested in you, yet Imayoshi’s got his head screwed on his shoulders. He knows he sucks, but he knows also how to succeed in this world. He may not be willing to consider a long term relationship with someone who’s not going to make an effort to hide personality trait when necessary, and keep up false pretences.

Hara Kazuya - Depends. For the spitefulness, he’s fine with someone who makes bitter/catty comments (he’ll probably find them funny) but he needs a light-hearted laugh sometimes too - so spitefulness to an extent, but not someone 100% like that. He’d enjoy annoying someone antisocial with his presence, so he might end up falling for them. But the relationship would only work if they didn’t mind him dragging them around with him sometimes, and putting up with him wanting to go do stuff with them.

Hanamiya Makoto - Bro he’s got so much bitterness and cynicism in him, he’d love being with someone who feels the same way about everyone and everything. Your being antisocial wouldn’t be too much of a problem. Would he occasionally put you in situations where you were forced to socialise, just so he could enjoy how irritated you got? Yes. (That said, tbh, I feel like a relationship between the two of you has a high likelihood of being seriously flawed. The two of you would egg each other on, getting increasingly nasty and spiteful until it starts getting taken out on each other.)

Seto Kentaro - Absolutely no problems with you being spiteful towards other people; he’s never bothered to be like that but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t think it sometimes. Also not keen on socialising too much, or going on tons of dates, so the antisocial thing works for him (as long as you’re willing to socialise once or twice a year and be his date to a family event - it’s important for appearances.)

Yamazaki Hiroshi - Definitely not. a) I don’t agree with kurofes on much, but I do agree with it that Zaki would mostly fall for cheerful types. b) I don’t think it’d be good for him to have a spiteful s/o; he’d internalise their criticisms of other people. c) He’s not going to force someone anti-social to spend time with him, but he’s pretty social, so he’d end up feeling miserable. So I doubt he’d fall for someone like this, and, if he somehow did, the relationship would make him fall out of love very quickly.

Furuhashi Kojiro - Probably. He’d be able to handle that kind of personality very well - he's known that feeling of spitefulness many a time (though, for him, it rarely comes out in words, more just glares and, rarely, violence), and he likes his own space too. Aka he doesn’t consider either of those traits as bad. He’d enjoy spending time with this kind of person (provided they don’t start insulting things he likes), so falling for them isn't unlikely.
