the last few volumes of a man and his cat have been really heavy with a bunch of traumatizing shit happening, but volume 10 with the cat who had been abandoned in a hoarder's home was especially hard to read.
that being said, there has also been a lot more character development and plot development happening, and i have to say i really like the direction the plot is moving in. can't wait to read more about teruaki and hoshinari.

2 from the relationship and courting antics asks for all the members :)
2 - When they have a crush on someone, how do they let them know?
Considering what this team’s premise is, well…
John simply doesn’t.
Kokoro will start interacting with that someone even more via PROFILE— liking, sharing/retweeting/reblogging almost every single post that person would have, making sure he got their username on other platforms, drawing more things of them, probably flooding their DMs, etc etc… as long as it meant interacting with their darling online really.
It’s supposedly subtle (but idk if it is anymore by the time I finished writing this), let’s say that this possible crush is a customer of his, so he’d place a small discount and if he notices that they take a bit too long counting their money on the counter— he’ll let them have some of the sweets they brought for free!
Thanks for the ask! 💔

I have mixed feelings for ittosara because from the one side, I do think that the ship's main appeal is one of the most not so woman friendly ones, the one where the strong woman has to babysit a man that is not mature enough as her and ittosara shippers have been extremely weird when it comes to lesbian pairings but from the other side, when it's written correctly, ittosara CAN be a pretty good ship that develops both itto and sara as characters, if the writer centers the relationship around Sara. Basically what I mean, if the fic is a Sara centric, in which Sara's personality feelings and ideology is explored and Itto is like her manic pixic bf, ittosara is good! if Ittosara is Sara babysitting Itto through incel - y type of writing, ittosara bad.

There was a small package waiting at the Okada residence.
This said package contained a delicate art piece made out of ceramic, a small statue depicting a pink butterfly-like fairy pinned to a wooden board, her body dissected and her parts labeled, like some kind of animal specimen.
A note was attached on the same board as the fairy:
Happy birthday Ritsuko-san. I don’t really have much to say.
—Kuju
Ritsuko raised a brow at the art piece before her lips curved upwards in a sick sense of amusement. It was quite obvious that the fairy was supposed to represent her younger sister, everyone and their mother knew how synonymous she was to those damn winged pests and she knew that quite literally everyone knew about their vitriolic relationship, not that Ritsuko made any effort to hide it and she never will.
Still, it was quite the interesting gift if she had to say so herself, much better than the meaningless material items people would shove in her face in a sad attempt to win her favor. She placed the art piece on a table nearby, satisfied before delving back into her lab for another session of experiments.
Thank you for the gift!

A package seem to have ended up at a particular model’s house, it’s merely a plain cardboard box sloppily held together by tape and it lacks any hint to whom might’ve sent it.
…well?
Oh my…
…it’s putrid, it smells like death.
Probably because…
It’s content is a freshly dead mouse! What the fuck?!?!
Surprisingly enough, there is a message that came with the dead mouse, although it’s already soaked in the vermin’s blood one could still make out the message within it, somehow.
Happy 3rd anniversary to your division team. I don’t see what my leader sees in you but okay cool I guess.
Kureha started to laugh while Sayaka gasped her covered her mouth, “Goodness! Why would anyone send such a thing?!”
Lola snorted and looked back at the box containing the dead mouse, absolutely unfazed, if the intention was to scare or gross the model out then sad to say that their plan had failed. Lola was no stranger to pranks or mean-spirited gifts, she could feel her eyebrow twitched remembering the mess that had been done to her penthouse by a certain American skank but shook the thought away, something as minuscule as this had no effect to the blonde, who had seen much, much worse during her lifetime.
Shrugging, Lola took the barely held together box and threw it down the garbage shoot before washing her hands and sending a smile towards her teammates. “There, problem solved!”
Thank you for the gift(?)

aso-kuju national park, kumamoto & oita
november 4-6, 2022
i’ve been to aso-kuju before (see this post about it!) but i hadn’t been into the kuju mountain range before, so i decided to go back in autumn so i could experience the mountains with the trees in fall colors.
i’ve said this before but aso-kuju is my favorite place in all of japan, and this trip really just reminded me how beautiful it is and how beautiful volcanoes and volcanic areas make our planet!
first we went to daikanbo, which is an outlook on the rim of the aso caldera, which is massive. then we drove through the kuju mountains and into an area called chojabaru, where there are wetland and forest trails. we hiked a 2km forest trail to get up close and personal with the leaves. then we went to a really good restaurant called yasaiya (vegetable restaurant). it’s basically farm to table. they had amazing borscht there for some reason! then we hit up drum tao, a famous taiko group whose headquarters are in the kuju mountains. after the pandemic they couldn’t do any world tours, so they built this nature stage at the edge of the mountains overlooking aso volcano and they perform there live. that was really cool, but oh lord it was terrifying to look at them lol. then i was taken to some natural springs! ikeyama and yamabuki are both really pretty spots with warm water bubbling up from underground. apparently they stay green all year round because of the water temperature.
it was a really great day with my geoguide. i’m going back to kurokawa onsen in january and then doing one more tour with my geoguide in spring before i leave japan.
