I have mixed feelings for ittosara because from the one side, I do think that the ship's main appeal is one of the most not so woman friendly ones, the one where the strong woman has to babysit a man that is not mature enough as her and ittosara shippers have been extremely weird when it comes to lesbian pairings but from the other side, when it's written correctly, ittosara CAN be a pretty good ship that develops both itto and sara as characters, if the writer centers the relationship around Sara. Basically what I mean, if the fic is a Sara centric, in which Sara's personality feelings and ideology is explored and Itto is like her manic pixic bf, ittosara is good! if Ittosara is Sara babysitting Itto through incel - y type of writing, ittosara bad.

idk i just think that ittosara antis who think that itto is *harrasing* sara are kinda seeing it through a man vs woman lens not a OPPRESSOR VS VICTIM LENS...

like surely we all agree that even though sara wasnt 100% sure abt the VHD she still very much did take Visions and justified it through religious belief (aka her religious devotion to the shogun). Sara was very much the enforcer of this cruel decree and Itto is a victim of the VHD that is justified in his anger. If YOU had a vision you'd never sit down if you had it taken away from you...

OK so something really odd I've noticed is that the purity police will go absolutely rabid over fanart or fanfiction that only a couple hundred people have seen, then turn around and stan attack on titan or twilight or stephen universe or whatever when those works have genuinely exposed hundreds of thousands of children to genuinely harmful ideas. AoT is anti-Korean propaganda, Twilight is incredibly fucking racist, Stephen Universe had human zoos and romanticized slavery, etc. But noooo, the real problem is this fully tagged and disclaimed fanfiction of a ship they hate. Sometimes they'll bully people for completely unproblematic ships just because those ships are straight or break up their otp, hence double standards like zutara shippers being accused of homophobia and pro-imperialism by zukka shippers or ittosara shippers getting told they're homophobic monsters by other genshin shippers. And yet these same people have no problem with really violent or gory fan content, just ships.

The bottom line is that FICTION IS FICTION. Antis just pick and choose what they think of as harmful. And they genuinely do not seem to give a shit if it doesn't involve shipping. What a weird, hypocritical standard for what counts as harmful lol
