Yay my transtape got here.

Like I said the first time they ordered it, the packaging is extremely discrete, you'd have no idea from looking at it that it's transtape or anything else related to gender, it's just a blank cardboard box with a white shipping label that just says "204 W Boombah blvd. Yorkville, IL, 60560", and if you google that to see what comes up, it just says it's a warehouse, doesn't connect it to transtape at all.

So if you want to buy gender affirming things online but are worried about other people seeing them, as long as no one cuts the box open, you'd be fine with transtape.

Although as a PSA the website (transtape.life) is annoying and has an autoplay video of someone in a bathtub with purple lights and stuff. They're not naked but I have no fucking clue why they though putting that as an autoplay video is a good idea -.-

Fun thing about my chronic knee pain- bench pressing intermodal doors open and closed is enough to cause a flare up. Part of it's because I'm so heckin short so even with a persuader bar I'm pushing and pulling over my head. I'll be fine I just gotta keep up with the advil and ktape and keeping it easy. My knee is a good reminder that it's okay to slow down in life if you need to take extra time. Ktape is a lifesaver though if braces just don't stay on or fit you properly. I got cuvy enough legs I can't wear a proper knee brace to save my live it just doesn't fit me.

Dick Grayson (25-29ish yo)

Wears contacts all the time when he’s out. His sight used to be perfect up until puberty. Only wears prescription glasses when he knows he’ll spend the entire day wearing sunglasses – has prescription on them (he does have an emergency pair of regular glasses though).

Has a deep set of dimples. More visible when he’s a dehydrated raisin of a human being. He has a special bottle for just water to force himself to drink more.

Is left handed. His siblings bother him for that matter when he accidentally elbows somebody while eating.

Is “silently” addicted to energy drinks. Has tried to switch to other beverages but ultimately always goes back to energy drinks.

Sings in the shower, has a genuinely good singing voice. Pretends to be shy when people suggest doing karaoke.

Has chronic wrist pain due to a bad fracture.

Is a minimalist. Hates clutter and frequently gets rid of things like clothes, unnecessary gadgets, kitchen utensils etc.

Loves rock climbing and bouldering.

Has pockmarks on his cheeks. Had tried different products to make them fade away, but gave up and accepted his fate.

Uses a lot of post-it notes around his apartment.

Jason Todd (22-24ish yo)

Jason is the only one with brown eyes. You cannot convince me otherwise. Don’t try to.

He’s the best cook out of all the guys. Finds it very therapeutic. Genuinely enjoys making meals especially if others can stop by for dinner or pick up his food. (always makes me think of those pics of him and Dick in the kitchen in Gotham Knights!)

Has type 1 diabetes, uses a pump. (As mentioned here!)

Has a private library stamp for his book collection because any time someone visits him, somebody borrows (steals) books from him.

Plays the violin, self-taught as an adult. It’s his “safe” hobby that convinces his neighbours that he’s just a regular guy.

Has a full arm tattoo sleeve, it’s his way of dealing with body dysmorphia and body image issues. His tattoos include book references, fav movie characters and different symbols for all of the siblings (not their super hero stuff though, for safety reasons).

Has reading glasses. (As mentioned here!)

Hates arugula, loves Italian cuisine. He is not afraid of carbs (his glucose monitor states otherwise) and makes noodles often.

Has wavy hair but doesn’t use proper products for his texture.

Has veryyy straight teeth naturally. Others are jealous.

Tim Drake (20-21ish yo)

Journals. Even when he’s severely sleep deprived. It’s his way of dealing with heavy stuff, but also his archive in case he goes missing.

Has a nintendo switch. Doesn’t really use it but he knows that Damian steals it that’s why he keeps it instead of selling it.

Has a proper skin care routine. It includes dying his hair dark every 4 weeks cause he has gray hairs due to stress.

Uses ktape regularly. Struggles with chronic back pain and uses a foam roller.

Is vegan. Doesn’t try to convince other peeps to switch to veganism knowing that they are barely capable of making food for themselves. Will make an exception and eat meat if it’s a meal prepared by somebody close to him.

Is a huge music fan, listens to music often. Mostly metal, but also pop, rap. Doesn’t really discriminate music genres.

Loves playing board games. Is the type to bring board games to social meetings of sorts in case people want to play.

Has a very pleasant, contagious laugh. Rarely laughs out loud, but those who know his laugh try hard to make him laugh for that matter.

Has really sparse facial hair. Would like to grow out a stache or beard but cannot.

Blushes very easily. Doesn’t like it. Despises cold temperatures for that matter.

Wings AU character bits

Hi this is me trying to get a grip on writing again and getting the characters while also adding the wing bits.

Ice Harpy Eagle

Likes having long nails (harpy eagles have fuckin huge talons), keeps them shaped and neatly painted if he's in the mood when on leave

Likes to keep his nest cool and clean (comfy but practical)

Tall nesting! He always claims the top bunk! 

His childhood bedroom had one of those tall beds with a desk under them because he kept piling stuff up to sleep atop of them and it could fit multiple people 

Sad because Navy bunk beds are small :(

Strong as fuck (he's smaller than Sli but can bench press almost as much) (harpy eagles grab animals as big as them like sloths and carry them) (can carry others while flying if needed just not for lengthy flights)

Very keen eyesight so sunglasses for light sensitivity (maybe reading glasses for near sight focus? I like him with glasses)

Very good hearing (don't shit talk near him he'll definitely hear it)

Hair moves very slightly, similar to feathers (kinda like their facial disk and feather crest) 

*Baby feathers are almost all white with some light gray. They molt usually once a year (sometimes twice) and it takes 5 years to get the adult coloring 

Ice's stayed in a middle coloring and he got insecure. His mom suggested matching his hair and that's how the frosted tips came to exist :D

He's a provider by nature but his little sisters have made him very nurturing and affectionate too (Slider knows this firsthand and thinks it's hilarious how fussy Ice can get)(the others learn with time but first baby goose)

Leaves feathers around the house (perfectly placed thank you very much)

Slider Bearded Vulture

Lämmergeier means “Lamb vulture” (wrong because they don't prey on sheep but shhhhh).  Slider calls Maverick “Little lamb” as a joke because he loves annoying him and wants to eat him up

CAN ACTUALLY EAT BONES!!! (Bone soup is a thing!) Will chew on them till it's painful to watch and will take anyone's bones off their plates to pick the marrow off them

The bone dropping shows a lot in him just throwing stuff. He does it. A LOT.

He also likes to have a tennis ball around to fidget dropping it and catching it when it bounces

Has an actual nest bed. The mattress is on the harder side but it has a shit ton of blankets and pillows (to the point you can't feel the mattress)

There are old feathers around the nest tucked in between pillows (don't tell Ice!!) ⁠(⁠ ⁠⁄⁠•⁠⁄⁠-⁠⁄⁠•⁠⁄⁠ ⁠)

Very involved into the life of the ones he loves (helpful, affectionate, etc) (this includes parenting looks at baby goose)

His feathers only dye red when visiting his family or on vacation with family because they frequent iron rich waters (his mom loves her red feathers and looking at her baby look like her makes her teary eyed)

Maverick Peregrine Falcon

Very lightweight!!!

He's beauty, he's grace, he'll dive down and kick you in the face (literally, peregrine falcons kill prey by punching them with their closed talons when dividing)

Very keen reflexes (both at ground and on air), will grab anything you throw at him even if distracted

Very! Good! At courting!!!! (Looking at the beginning bar scene)

Small but comfy nest. Very soft and also bunk bed! is perfect

Has a favorite blanket that he will ALWAYS take everywhere, even on deployment 

Cracking his head fuckin open more than once as a kid because he's a menace and small and tried to dive from places he climbed (not his best idea)

crying because he's so small he can't carry goose after the accident and can just grab at him until they get rescued

Now this would be for trans! Mav

To everyone's surprise Mav is as big as he can get (Female birds of prey are bigger than males= bigger wingspan, human height is genetic so for avians is a bit mixed)

Wings don't allow binding (for obvious reasons) but kinesiology tape exists! 

He already used KTape before joining the navy and top surgery so he's used to just strutting around shirtless (we stan a short confident king! It's honestly so freeing to tape and be shirtless I might just leave him pre surgery for next fanart pieces)

Goose Emden Goose

Literally a Mother Goose™

Has learned to deal with Maverick and not only does he not get surprised by his antics, he can predict them and is already prepared for them (aka get ready to scoop tiny ass Mav if he gets in trouble or hurts himself)

The good part is that it has made him baby proof. He can deal with a child he's been dealing with Mav!

Terrified. Absolutely terrified. Because his beautiful baby gosling is as much a little shit as his wife and best friend. If his wings weren't already white they'd for sure be by now ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ

I need to think more about Mav and Goose but that involves looking for Peregrine Falcon and Geese facts

Assides from using a skin adherent spray like cramer tuf or mueler qda that will probably outlast the tape and leave residue everywhere and need a skin safe degreaser to remove (probably not a good idea for applying over a large area anyway. I can't advise ever doing this as I have never tried it.) it's mostly about how you prep the area. There's three huge things that you can do, which is: shave, even if you have fine hairs. wash the area with a soap that isn't for moisturizing, so like dawn dish soap or cheap handsoaps, and let dry. Lastly you can use a little bit of rubbing alcohol on the area to further dry it out.

You can also put a small bit of cloth, ideally cotton, or paper towel, over a bit of area you'll sweat from. So if you're taping your chest then over your nipples, which you should probably do anyway. I'm going to assume that if you're using it for that purpose you're doing it anyway and if you're not you should be. I will apply the covering down from the nipple to cover the underboob since sweat also likes to collect there and just use more tape.

KT tape is typically really good at holding on long term with the right prep and waiting 3-12 hours before you wet it. If you try all these things and it still pops off it might be your brand. This is the brand I use. I typically use a roll at a time because I tape in support around my sides and up my shoulders. I do this to prevent injury to the skin on top of my chest. I like this one because it is wider than most rolls. Additionally cheaper. With long wear the corners start to peel but it's a non issue for me as when it does I tend to want to take it off.

!!Also!! Caution with drying your skin out!! If you are wearing 4 days or more at a time you need to take a rest day and apply moisturizing creams to the area! You can also apply them on top of the tape after prolonged wear while in the shower. It might affect your tape wear but skin is very delicate and if you injure it badly you won't be able to keep using the tape anyway!

Never stretch K tape over your skin! It worsens the hold and once again, will shrink back to its resting size. You should hold your body part in position and slide it over top. Never use the tape to force the body part in position. If you get a rash or blisters from K tape it's very likely you used it wrong. Do a test for allergy by applying it under your arm without stretching it.

When you apply Kinesiology Tape wrong it feels like 5 million hands grabbing your skin and tearing you apart. It happens when you stretch it out while putting it on and it later tries to shrink back down to its original size

Hot take accommodations like 5o4s, weelchairs, canes, crutches, prosthetics, ear plugs, heating pads, pain killers, hydration supliments, hearing aids, IEPs, catheters, therapy, psychologist, bed pans, diapers, period supplies, Ktape, Should all be free for those who need it. The whole what if people misuse it is bs people need accommodations as for people with invisible and visible disabilities and chronic pain disorders. i got off-brand trans tape (kinesiology tape) for the first time and i’m so happy

i’ve been looking for a way to flatten my chest and i almost got a binder but backed out because money and fear of rib problems, then i found out that this tape existed and it’s literally my saving grace!

even just the fact that i have a little test strip on to see whether i get an allergic reaction has me so elated!!

by the time this is posted i’ll probably have put it on for the first time but for now, that little piece sitting on my chest is a glimmer of hope

i put it on for the first time. well, technically the second time but the first attempt was a disaster lmao. i was super demoralized after that and considered giving up but i didn’t and i tried it again!

and it feels amazing. i was just staring in the mirror all giggly for a solid 5 minutes. yeah the tape feels funny but i like the feeling and it’s a nice affirming reminder that i am indeed cisn’t.

also while i was researching i found some posts saying generic Ktape stretches after a while and i’m actually super happy about that bc i’m genderfluid!

i gotta say though i didn’t expect to feel this different, especially since i’m not totally flat. it’s strange not having a bra on and i definitely have a case of ‘phantom chest’ lol

but overall i’m super happy and it’s still sinking in that i get to be like this for another 3-5 days (!!!!!!)

rain has a squishmallow bag (either packed by big rain or the person watching her when small) that they keep stuff that rain may need when small, stuff like crayons, paci, chewy, popits, any toys shes really fixated on at the moment and also pain management stuff that rain can be in charge of like instant icepacks, icyhot, wraps, braces, things like that

I think most of the ghouls have those kind of "special needs bags" you know. I'm thinking thinking dew rain mountain and phantom, but let's focus on rain now

she's definitely got plushies in there, yeah, as many as would fit. toys, normal and sensory, special blanket, paci, colouring books, crayons, etc. I think there's a separate bag for medical stuff like braces, ktapes, icepacks, painkillers etc too
