With Ophelia and Houki, given the nature of their initial creation as MCs in a different game, their personalities were formed before their appearance, as that was the order done in their home game. Personality and backstories were developed first via choices in game, while appearance was more of minor detail that popped up later on in game (like mentioning that Houki has long black hair, Ophelia's prim and proper clothing choices and not much after that, etc.)

Naturally, their appearances reflected their personalities and backstories. Houki is an introverted bookworm that tends to laze about reading her beloved tomes. Her clothes are relaxed and easy to move around in. She doesn't do anything majorly fancy with her appearance because it would interfere with her book time. Ophelia has had to put on appearances all her life, to pretend to be a person she wasn't for the sake of her loved ones. So, while she knows how to enhance her appearance to get what she wants, it hides what's simmering underneath, something that she doesn't want others to see. 

At the time of Thea's creation, I had been developing a hyperfixation on historical dress and, though Ikevamp is set in an historical time, it didn't scratch the itch I wanted scratched in everyone in historic-appropriate clothes, especially the MC, thus Thea's creation so I could scratch that itch. So, based on this, Thea is an appearance first OC with her personality coming second. And, based purely on the fact that I created her out of creative spite, it also formed her personality to be impulsive and outgoing.

Maddie, Abby, and Clara are all also appearance first OCs, in that they were inspired by my avatars in IkeRev, IkeVamp, and IkePri respectively, with their personalities developing later.

Maddie developed as I played Harr's route, the normal hair avatar being what sold me initially about her. It made me think of her as someone older, more mature. The digs at Sirius's age only added fuel to the fire, so I made her a lil bit of an older OC (she's Sirius's age!) and, also because of those digs, she's more outgoing and is out to prove that age doesn't matter in doing the things you love nor is it an excuse to stop learning new things!

Abby was first created with Vincent's normal avatar hair (short blonde bob) along with the default brown eyes, it gave a more demure look, more withdrawn, thus the basis for Abbygail, who is nervous and self-conscious about herself. It gave me a contrast to Thea who is more outgoing and confident comparatively.

Clara was inspired by Nokto's normal avatar (low fancy bun), giving the girlie a more serious appearance compared to Nokto, an ethereal playboy, so her personality developed as a contrast to him, one seemingly frivolous with the other grounded, except when they got to know the other and discovered the opposite was true underneath their walls.

Miri, my Obey Me MC, her personality developed first as her appearance actually changed over time. There isn't much physical description given to the MC, so you pretty much have free reign of imagining what the MC actually looks like, another reason why it took me longer to settle on her design. I just knew that I wanted her with pink and purples like the Sheep MC design in game. And because she had pink and purple in her color scheme, it lead me to thinking of her as a magical girl as those are some of the colors I associate with magical girls. MC learning magic in later seasons also made me lean stronger into giving her a magical girl personality, the good-hearted protagonist that wants to do right, except that the people she wants to do right by …are literal demons.

 It's been a fun ride with that idea in mind, as you can guess.

This one I started in late December so it wasn't finished in time for my year end summary and it had a lot of different elements that I needed to fuss with, but finally finished it for the new year.

Twas inspired by a scene from early on in Vincent's route where he carries MC piggyback style back to the mansion after they have a heart-to-heart talk.

Mako hibernates during the winter because he ain’t built for the cold. He only comes out of hibernation for work emergencies and Christmas, so Krys helped him out for Christmas this year. After Christmas he usually just takes a two month nap in his room….. I could use a two month nap. Anyway comic cause I’m bored. :3

I felt like I was getting bolder with trying some new things this year like working on my anatomy (I drew a lot more full bodies and hands this year! Huzzah!) and I was facing my background and environment responsibilities a lot more this year. I think I'm growing more powerful as an artist the more I go out of my comfort zone and I'm liking the results of that.
