i think it would've been soo much funnier if human first contact had been with the krogan. genuinely don't think it would've come to war with them. i just picture some alliance frigate crashlanding on tuchanka after going through a relay for the first time, turning its primitive guns to dust, and being found by like... one of the more level headed clans whose scouts just go look at wtf happened and they get very defensive at first because what if those weird mutant pyjaks are spies from the stg? what if they were sent to tuchanka to spread disease or something even worse than the genophage? but as soon as its clear that they can't understand a word of what they are saying they would get one of their own to call like. an asari ex gf to tell her about the stupid weird aliens that just landed on their planet. to see if she can maybe get them to go away?

N7 Month 2023 ‑ Day 10 Prompt: Rifle
.
The Striker is a fully-automatic weapon that fires high-impact slugs that detonate on contact. The weapon increases its rate of fire the longer the trigger is held, which is devastating if the weapon can be kept on-target.
In an attempt to market the Striker outside of the Krogan DMZ, the gun was designed to be fired by non-krogan, but its recoil tends to off-balance smaller species. Enthusiasts point out that the target on the receiving end of a Striker has far worse things to worry about than its shooter's balance.

Avery Sirin
Alliance Mechanic
Tumblr media
See also: Dela Raisaris
The following information is classified. Spectre status required.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Avery Sirin was born in 2154 on the fledgling human colony of Terra Nova to Leilani and Grigol Sirin. The colony expanded slowly at first, and as a child Avery's education was patchy and largely delivered by her parents or neighbours, and focused mostly on important aspects of colony life. From an early age, she developed a keen interest in machinery and technology.
The draw of frontier life eventually attracted an impressive number of first-class educators, and Sirin was one of the first enrolled in Terra Nova's school system in the capital of Scott. Keen to encourage the colony (and boost their own recruitment numbers after the Relay-314 incident) the Alliance provided Avery and many of her peers with full scholarships to the newly established Falconer University in Scott City.
Avery attended the Technical Engineering college in 2172, just as Terra Nova's famous platinum rush was beginning. The sudden influx of people and credits transformed the colony over Avery's four years of study. As many of the new arrivals were non-human, this was Avery's first experience of wider galactic culture. While already committed to two years of Alliance service thanks to the scholarship program, in her third and fourth years of study Avery joined several social clubs designed to build inter-species relationships.
Her parents, however, were distrustful of the new arrivals and resented the industrialisation of their colony. They became reclusive and moved away from the city, causing a rift between them and their daughter that has resulted in a noticeably frosty relationship.
After her graduation in 2176, Sirin was assigned as a flight mechanic on the SSV Hong Kong, where she developed a romantic relationship with a pilot that lasted most of her required two years of service. It ended poorly with the realisation that her partner looked down on her as 'just an engineer'. After breaking it off with him, she applied - and was quickly accepted - to the Alliance Flight School in 2178. After the one year intensive program, she graduated in the top three of her class.
She was reassigned to the SSV Shenyang in 2179 and flew on several pirate suppression missions in the Attican Traverse, protecting Alliance colonies from slavers. Her skill and dedication were recognised with a promotion to 1st Flight Lieutenant in 2181.
In 2183, the Shenyang fought in the Battle of the Citadel against the rogue Spectre Saren and his geth army. Sirin fought with distinction, destroying several geth fighters and helping co-ordinate the defence of a hobbled turian cruiser. On the recommendation of Major Helmud Diaz, Sirin was awarded a commendation and, with the appointment of the new human Councillor in early 2184, was approved for transfer to the turian heirarchy ship Severum of the Council Demilitarization Enforcement Mission in the krogan DMZ.
EQUIPMENT
Tumblr media
Alliance Interceptor Fighter
Designed for ship-to-ship combat and missile screening duties, the Alliance SX3 is less hardy than its turian equivalent but significantly more agile.
Tumblr media
M-3 Predator sidearm
All flight personnel are assigned a basic sidearm in case of emergency. Avery's pistol range scores are comparatively poor.
SKILLS
While not much of a combatant outside of her cockpit, Avery can use her Alliance-issue omni-tool as a defensive and offensive weapon. She can release an electrical overload to disrupt enemy kinetic barriers, or repurpose the charge as a shield boost for herself. Additionally, she can use the on-board minifacturer to produce a swarm of nanides, which can be used by an invasion program to strip enemy armour, or a restoration program to repair equipment.
PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION
Avery Sirin is a model Alliance soldier. Dedicated to her mission and loyal to her allies, she has a quiet resilience and determination that make her an asset to any operation. Off duty, she is curious and friendly, and makes a noticeable effort to get along with and understand her non-human comrades. Despite her efforts, she can come across emotionally distant and prefers not to talk about herself, which leads some - particularly turians - to think of her as aloof.

New Mandalore
Located somewhere between Council Space and the Krogan DMZ, what is now called New Mandalore (Evaar Manda'yaim in Mando'a) is a somewhat temperate world suitable for colonization. It is home to jungle, grassland, deciduous forests, and some desert biomes, with very little polar regions. Two-thirds of the year, living along the coastlines and the outlying areas is pleasant enough, but for the last third of year the planet is whipped with large, violent typhoons.
As such, any above ground structures at a certain distance from the coast need to have shielding against the winds, intended to be temporary and taken apart, or built underground.
The planet was colonized periodically throughout history. A race of beings colonized it prior--much of the structures and underground residences date to that time. Current theory is it had been a race that went extinct either through harvesting by the Reaper Cycle, or through secondary means triggered by the cycle.
In recent history it had been given to the krogan as a concession for their involvement with the Rachni Wars, some marks of their settlement remains, from repair jobs and expansions to the pre-existing structures. After the Krogan Rebellions, the planet was taken back by the Council.
In the 2180s, the planet was purchased by the Mandalorian colonial effort to have their own space. Being only a few dozen beings, the colony was no different than some first wave outposts. New Keldabe, the capital, was settled on the underground residencies on the coasts, with a shield system for their above-ground residencies.
In the years to come, this would be a key factor in saving refugees. In the final Reaper Cycle, the galaxy's refugees were welcomed in the colony, kept underground and playing "dead" to the Reapers. Thich tactic saved more lives than anyone could fathom.
In the time after the Reapers, some of the refugees decided to stay and start new life on the colony. Moving towards the inner part of the continent, settlements like Unity have popped. Unity is a join Mandalorian-elcor settlement, with other Council races making up the rest of the population. Unity and Jate Vhetiin are the agricultural hubs for the colony, growing staple foods and farming livestock to both feed the colony and trade off-world. Evaa'ruus and Veshok'bral are hubs for natural resources (mining and lumber). They work with the Mandalore to create a safe, sustainable way to take some of the planet's natural resources without depleting the planet or causing massive ecological harm.
As such, the main exports of New Mandalore is grain, produce, and livestock, some other non agricultural goods, and to some extant, Mercenaries.
Sometime after 14 BBY, the Citadel Council has granted permission for a limited colonization of New Mandalore by Bendu Galaxy refugee. A token of gratitude for the Mandalorian aid against the Reapers, but the Council insists on remaining neutral and out of the conflict with the Empire.

Life Behind Enemy Lines - Ch 12
Tumblr media
 2185
Shepherd was prepared for a warning shot– it was a known hazard of entering the Tuchankan DMZ, even for neutral ships– but this was a warning barrage.
“Shit shit shit,” Joker hissed down the line. “Hold onto your –”
He banked left, hard.
Shepherd clung onto the command console and keyed in the Spectre codes. “Message for Urdnot Wrex, from Council Spectre Janna Farvardin.” She clenched her mandibles. “Thanks to your charming habit of blocking all turian frequencies –"
A crewmember fell to the floor, sliding across the bridge.
“—I thought I’d take my chances and drop by.”
“Three krogan frigates are pursuing,” said EDI.
“Damn,” Joker cackled, “they steer like elcor.” Read more

Spectre's Holiday Advent Calendar, Day 15
As a thank you to my followers, I've thrown together a bunch of short stories with their OCs and requested characters and will be posting them 1 per day as Holiday gifts. Hope you enjoy! Today's Character: Dela for @rocketcat-ohara
Tumblr media
It took a few days for the fact that she was actually on leave to settle in for Dela. A few days in which she wasn’t entirely sure what to do with herself. It was only on the third day when she woke up at her own pace, opened her window and leaned out without ever having to put on more than simple underwear that she realized she really truly did have the week to herself. At that point, it was almost half over.
She’d picked Earth on a whim, a bit of that explorer spirit she’d indulged in earlier in her maidenhood pushing her to visit somewhere new and a little more rustic. Though, she hadn’t expected this Italy place to be this rustic. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d actually seen residential buildings made of stone. It was… quaint.
Down on the street below her, a few of the pedestrians looked up, gawking as much at the sight of an actual Asari as at the beautiful woman leaning out her window in just a bra. She waved, winked, and went back into her room, leaving the window open. She liked hearing the sounds of the ancient city. Still not bothering to get dressed, she went through her morning workouts, an hour of calisthenics that still worked up a decent sweat despite Earth’s slightly lower gravity.
Then, with nothing more pressing on her schedule than wandering around the city and her body still buzzing with energy, she decided to indulge herself a little. Opening her bag she retrieved the Krogan dick dildo she’d bought when she found out she’d be deploying to the DMZ. Not that she’d deployed yet. That was the whole point of this trip after all. One last fling before dropping into the shit.
Peeling out of sweat dampened underwear, she tossed them carelessly on the coffee table as she spread her legs for the toy. The window was still open just a few meters away, the golden sunlight streaming in through and reflecting off the tile floor the only light in the room. Biting her lower lip she placed the head against her opening. It felt big. Good. Pushing, she took as much as she could before gasping and pulling back. She’d gotten further than she expected. Grinning around her lip, she repeated the process, each time fitting a bit more of it in. Outside the window, the sounds on the street picked up, the city coming fully to life. Honking, shouting, squabbling, and all other sorts of social noise drifted in to her, and she used it as audio cover to let out a soft moan of her own. One moan became many though as she moved faster, working the toy back and forth. She’d gotten it as deep as she could manage now, so she focused on speed, stroking it faster and faster. Her free hand slid up her own belly to her breasts, pushing her bra up so she could squeeze one. Pressure built, and unlike in the barracks, she didn’t bother holding it back. She wasn’t going for one big climax here. There was no time limit on this, and she didn’t need to get the most bang for her buck in a single go.
So she let herself cum freely, fucking herself to a series of cascading climaxes that didn’t individually eliminate the left over buzz of her workout; but instead washed it away like waves eroding a cliff. By the end, she’d managed to fit over half the giant toy inside herself, and even the parts she hadn’t fit were sprinkled and streaked with her cum.
Rising from the couch, ignoring the wet spot she’d left on the fabric, she tossed the toy into the sink on her way past the kitchen. She’d clean it later, but right now, she had a city to explore. She looked down at herself.
On second thought. Maybe a shower.
Reversing course, she retrieved the toy. They’d get clean together.

[MISSING] Commercial Shipping Lost In Athena Nebula
via Miria T’Poli, The Thessian Observer A large convoy of commercial shipping has fallen off the ladar in Thessia’s star cluster, spurring a search from both the Salarian Union and Republican navies. The Kircenes-Mun company convoy was scheduled to arrive at Thessia two days ago, but there have been no signs or communications from any of the ships. The convoy’s lead ship’s QEC has also failed to respond to any hails. “We’re combing all the star systems between Parnitha and the Athena-Krogan DMZ relay for ships, escape pods, debris, anything. Thousands of tons of cargo haulers do not vanish like a prayer at a concert in a safe cluster”, flotilla admiral Sinlon from the Salarian Union Navy, overseeing the search efforts, commented to the Thessian Observer.

@hvadeina / Shepard. Rogue Spectre.
Spectre Status had been a trade-off for Garrus Vakarian; mostly because with it came a very indirect relief of duty. He’d taken bullets over the case of Commander Shepard and it seemed the Council saw it a mercy to take him back from the case... or more likely, senior Spectres wanted to take their own crack at it.
Garrus Vakarian didn’t want to budge, though, if only to hold them-- him-- back. Saren Aterius was hunting for blood, but Garrus was relegated to Huerta to handle the point-blank he’d taken to the gut.
He knew why Shepard did it, or at least hoped it was practicality over revenge. It still bruised his pride to have to get through a couple classes of physical therapy so he could stand straight again. Such was love.
There was only so much he could do until he was recovered only a couple weeks later; even then he had to start from scratch to track Commander Shepard and the Urdnot rebels down, and Garrus was working against a clock. Saren had weeks ahead of him, but Garrus knew the target. Of course it didn’t look good if the first thing he did as a Spectre was to go against the Council’s advice to sit this one out and let a senior handle it... but Garrus never really had a way with authority.
At least there were no traces of Saren’s contacts and scouts in the immediate vicinity when he tracked the Normandy down to Dor. That was liable to change; they were quiet, and Saren was nefarious.
Next order of business was getting onto the station on the floating icicle in the Krogan DMZ-- Spectre Status could get him far enough in Council spaces, but something under the pull of the Urdnot rebels was undoubtedly going to have tighter security. At least this time Garrus was keen on coming in peace.

Hey could you please tell us about your OC Dela?
I don't want to give away too much of her backstory because a lot of it is spoilers for The Story, but here's what isn't classified:
Tumblr media
In 1975 (Systems Alliance Calendar), an abandoned shuttle was discovered by salarian wildcat miners orbiting the planet Raisaris.
There was nothing left on board but a crib containing a screaming infant asari. The salarians took her in, naming her Dela Raisaris after her unofficial homeworld, and she lived with the family for two salarian generations - over 60 years - and then moved to Illium to work first as a security agent for a transportation firm and eventually as a dancer in one of Nos Astra's many bars.
In 2076, Dela was involved in a [REDACTED] and left Illium with [CLASSIFIED]. They travelled together for half a century, during which time Dela expanded her biotic skills, her impressive piloting ability, learned to fight with a traditional asari sword, and [REDACTED].
After the tragic [REDACTED], Dela became a mercenary/sex worker, travelling all over the galaxy in search of purpose; or failing that (in her own words) 'a good fight or a good lay'.
In 2177, she was working with a small asari mercenary band subcontracted by the Eclipse Mercenary Corporation to fight in the Anhur rebellions against a consortium of batarian and human slavers known as the Na'hesit. When she learned that her companions were planning to switch sides for better pay, Dela assassinated their leader and sabotaged their ship. In exchange for a clean slate, she gave their location to an asari huntress team and traded in her mercenary identity for a military uniform.
After basic, she was assigned to the Council Demilitarization Enforcement Mission in the krogan DMZ as an interceptor fighter pilot. Only her unusual surname suggests there's more to her story than any other maiden serving on the turian ship THV Severum, but nobody asks and she doesn't tell.
Dela Raisaris is sharp-witted and funny, with a bawdy sense of humour that gets her reprimanded by her superiors, along with her cheerful disregard for protocol and preference for reckless flying. Quick with her affections, both emotional and physical, Dela is very popular with her crewmates - though her open sexuality often sees her entangled in love triangles. Despite her platonic love for her friends, Dela has had very few long-term relationships and nothing more serious than flings since she joined the asari military.

Mandalorian Factions (At least on this blog):
Most of these schisms and factions formed after the death of Parja Alor'ade-- the last (mostly) universally accepted Mandalore, and Kar's grandmother.
Haat Mando'ade (True Mandalorians): A faction based heavily on Mandalore and Concord Dawn. They follow the tenets and reformation started by Parja Alor'ade and refined as the Supercommando Codex of her successor, Jaster Mereel. This focused on rebuilding the home world and being more moderate. They eschewed the New Mandalorians' reliance on the Republic and the Kyr'Tsade's desire to return to galactic conquest, wishing to remain independent and content with their systems.
After Galidraan, their position was weakened and with Jaster's successor, Jango Fett leaving for Kamino with a chosen few to become the Cuy'val Dar, their influence faded. Leaving the more better backed Adonai Kryze to "win" the Civil War, albeit a a pyrrhic victory of sorts.
Evaar Mando'ade (New Mandalorians): Originally based on Kalevala, the new Mandalorians were founded by Duke Adonai Kryze, brother-in-law to Parja, who took her reforms and built a policy of pacifism and allyship with the Republic. After Galidraan, many Haat Mando'ade grudgingly accepted the new regime as they lacked the numbers to face a Republic-backed force. His daughter, Satine, led their faction until her demise. His other daughter, Bo Katan will eventually also lead-- but not under this faction.
Kyr'tsade (Death Watch): Mostly situated on Mandalore's moon, Concordia. Death Watch was founded by Tor Viszla sometime before Parja's death, they opposed the reformation she and later Jaster tried to adopt among the clans. They believe Mandalorians should reclaim their former glory as feared galactic conquerors.
After the Battle of Galidraan they went seemingly underground, only popping up years later during the Clone Wars under the leadership of Tor's successor, Pre Viszla. Targeted by both Evaar and Haat factions, they are generally considered as extremists and dangerous to the already dwindling Mandalorian population.
Kyr'tsade can also refer to the Children of the Watch, and isolated, strictly orthodox faction that was derivative of many of the Death Watch that survive Moff Gideon's purge. They tend to keep insular in their coverts on many worlds in diaspora.
Ashi Mando'ade (The Other Mandalorians): Branching off from the Haat Mando'ade, the Ashi Mando'ade were founded by Parja's granddaughter Kar Alor'ade after settling the Milky Way Galaxy. They are based from Evaar'Mandalore (New Mandalore), once a former krogan colony world on the fringes between the modern Krogan DMZ and Council Space. Reclaimed by the Council after the Krogan Rebellions, the planet was purchased for Mandalorian colonization and considered its own independent sovereign territory, with its own militia style military/peacekeeping force. During the post-Reaper reconstruction it has since become a sort of neutral space between the Council and the krogan; and Mandalore Kar has been known to serve as a mediator between the two from time to time.
Their culture is a melting pot of Haat Mando'ade and Milky Way cultures, mostly from their krogan neighbors, as well as influences from Earthborn humans, and a dash of turian, (and later angaran) cultures. After the Purge, the Council granted Mandalore Kar a limited immigration program for Mandalorians seeking to settle New Mandalore, so little culture burst from the homeworld had occurred at some point.
They are also the most widely spread of the factions, as over the coming centuries, the Ashi Mando'ade will find settlements on Kadara (Jaster's Watch) and Elaaden (Parja Bral), in the Andromeda Galaxy, and on Pandora (The captured and reclaimed Opportunity from Hyperion) in the Eridian Galaxy.

WOW I sure did read “Korean DMZ” as “Krogan DMZ”
it didn’t even register at first. I got two more words into the sentence before I had to go back.
It wasn’t even that I misread it? My eyes saw “Korean”! And I understood it as “Korean”! But my Internal Reading Voice very definitely said Krogan.
that is....... a level

[TUCHANKA] Passing Ship Detects Recent Nuclear Detonation
via Galaxy News Network Yesterday a surveyor vessel on the edge of the former Krogan DMZ reported a shipwreck and evidence of a recent explosion thought to be of nuclear origin. The surveyor ship was in the area to follow up on a report by a Tuchankan astronomer, of an explosion and light flash thought to be celestial in nature. Upon arrival, abnormally high levels of radiation were detected in the vicinity where the explosion was sighted. As far as can be determined, casualties seem to be limited to a small ship and whatever crew may have been aboard. The captain of the surveyor ship, wishing to stay anonymous, stated that he personally believed the ship's drive core suffered a catastrophic meltdown which led to the detonation. "It's a pirate tactic I've seen before. If they can't use the ship and don't want any witnesses, they'll wipe it all out." Until an official investigation can be conducted by the Tuchankan Defense Fleet, no one can really be sure what happened in the lonely reaches of krogan space.
