It was always disappointing when one of his own turned against him, but ultimately it was never surprising. This one had been smart, smart enough to work his way up their ranks, before ultimately making the fatal mistake of conspiring with Lazaar’s competitors. He had quickly cracked when faced with Lazaar himself, however, the impatience of youth ultimately ended his interrogation of the man. Lazaar watched impassively as the small figure of his daughter raced forward, tearing out the mans throat before he could fully comprehend the creature attacking him. Arterial blood splattered across the vampire, though he didn’t so much as blink. As the now dying man choked out his last breath Lazaar pulled a silk handkerchief out of the inside pocket of his blazer.

“I had been hoping to get the names of his co-conspirators.” he commented, annoyance sharpening his tone. “But, alas, what’s done is done.”
