Jay Drabble
Or, Jay wakes up next to MC for the first time.
The first time Jay saw you, they had no idea that they'd love you.
Ravi had a feeling. That's all he would tell them about why they were walking alongside the lake when a storm was clearly about to break. That deep into October, night had already fallen despite the early hour. Jay had their flashlight out, scanning the beach for the source of the feeling.
The water was a cold, dark unknown. Empty of promise or reason for concern. Kristy Edwards was still missing at that point, and Jay was half hopeful that Ravi might be leading them towards her. They were focused on the beach itself, looking more for a body than anything else.
“Oh,” Ravi had said, looking out at the lake.
Jay turned, a sinking feeling in their gut as they found what they'd been looking for. A body, bobbing in the water like a dead fish. Limp. Motionless.
Not Kristy, though. Not anyone.
They ran in without thinking. For someone so cautious with their personal life, Jay sure had a knack for rushing into danger.
The first time Jay saw you, you were drenched in lake water, your pajamas clinging to your skin and your eyes shut. The first time they kissed you, it was to push air into your lungs, their hands pumping rhythmically at the still heart in your chest.
Now it's six in the morning and they've kissed you again. Kissed you and more, spent a night with you that still has their heart pounding.
Jay lays awake in their bed. One arm is tucked behind their head, propping them up enough that they can look at you curled up on their chest. The other is pinned between your torso and a satin pillowcase. Pins and needles stab at the trapped limb, and they're trying to figure out how to escape without ruining the moment.
The problem is that they're so damn comfortable, other than the dead weight of their arm. You lay with your head buried in the curve of their neck. They can feel the steady rise and fall of your chest, the warmth of your skin.
You're here. You're alive. You're beautiful.
Dim light shines in from the hallway. Last night you stayed up talking for hours. You sat shoulder to shoulder on their old red sofa, discussing anything and everything. Leaning closer and closer as the night went on. Knees bumping, hands brushing together. Talking turned to kissing turned to…
Well.
Jay smiles. They can’t help it–a giddy, excited, teenager-who-just-had-their-first-kiss sort of smile.
You both were distracted enough that it's no surprise they forgot to turn off the light. Other than the dim golden glow streaming in from the hall, Jay's bedroom is dark. It's late enough in the year that the sun won't come up for hours, and they'll take the darkness for as long as they can get it.
This feels like a dream, a moment wrapped in the magic of waking up with you in their arms for the very first time.
Well. Waking up with you on their arm. An arm that is, quite frankly, killing them.
Jay doesn't want to break the spell, but their arm is starting to feel like the static that builds up on the surface of their TV.
They stretch out their fingers and grimace when the motion sends sparks shooting straight up to their shoulder. They scoot back in bed, slowly managing to wriggle their arm out from under your neck.
They pull free, shake out their fingers. Blood rushes back into their hand and it stings, but nothing like it was before. They watch you, fondness and amusement mingling as your face briefly twists into a mask of annoyance. You crack open a single eye, looking up at them.
“Jay…?” you squint into the darkness, words sluggish with sleep.
“Morning,” they say softly.
Jay’s heart melts when your groggy expression fades into a sleepy smile. You roll over until you’ve propped yourself up on your side. You swoop down, peppering their ribs with clumsy kisses.
“Hey–!” their voice cracks into laughter. It tickles, and they shift away from you, but you’ve wrapped your arm around their waist. They’re trapped, and they’re elated, and this is the best morning of their entire life.
“You woke me up,” you accuse.
“I couldn’t feel my arm,” they grin, “You were crushing it.”
You open your mouth to protest and they can't resist leaning in and catching your lips with theirs. They pour all of their giddiness and joy and relief into the kiss, hoping that you can feel the warmth blooming inside them. You receive it eagerly. They wrap an arm around your waist, pull you in close.
The kiss lasts for seconds. It lasts for hours. Jay loses themself in the heat of your lips. They feel dizzy with affection, and their heart feels like it's going to burst.
Finally it ends and you break apart, but they keep holding you. You both shift position until you're resting your head on their chest and their arm is curled around you. It'll probably fall asleep again, but they can't resist the intoxicating feeling of you at their side.
“Wow,” they breathe, staring up at the ceiling.
You laugh, your breath tickling their skin.
“Was it that good?” you tease.
Yes, they want to say, but that's not all. They're marveling because they never could have expected this. They pulled you out of the lake, took pride in having helped find you. In keeping you safe
But it wasn't until now that Jay truly understood just how lucky they were to save your life.
“Stay for breakfast?” they say instead, leaning down and pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
“Sure,” you hum.
Jay smiles and closes their eyes. You both fall into a comfortable, drowsy silence. Hopefully you'll stick around and you can spend your day together, but for now this is all they need.
This is perfect.

The Crown Jewel Edition: Queen Consort Clarisse
Before she was taken from the world in a horrific plane accident Queen Clarisse wore some of the most show stopping pieces within the Royal Collection.
The Pearl Wedding Tiara (Above)
This is the tiara that was traditionally worn by brides coming into the Royal Family before Queen Consort Ana introduced the Harold Tiara. The piece boasts hundreds of pearls which used to be embedded within Queen Morrigan's medieval crown.
The Fontaine Foliage Tiara
A tiara gifted to Queen Clarisse upon her marriage to then-Crown Prince Richter from her family, the Fontaines. Outfitted with priceless Celestri diamonds, it is one of the most expensive pieces within the Quinn Family's collection.
The tiara has not been worn in public since Her Majesty's death, though it remains one of the pieces available for use by the current Queen Regina.
The Cursed Dumas Aquamarines
These earrings are one of Her majesty's favorite pairs. She bought them on auction for approximately 500,000 simoleons from luxury auction house Kristi's.
The aquamarines and diamonds were originally owned by a Bordeauxian noblewoman from the 1780s and are thought to be cursed. The last owners before Queen Clarisse had acquired them died in a tragic fire which caused them to go up for auction in the first place. Three more of the previous owners have all passed from tragic accidents or under mysterious circumstances.
Many believe the original owner of the jewels, Lady Celine Dumas, placed a curse upon whoever would come into ownership of them as her jealous daughter-in-law murdered her in order to inherit her vast riches through her only son. Everyone who came into ownership of the jewels since has met an early demise.
Unfortunately, Queen Clarisse had also fallen to the curse only a year after purchasing the earrings. The last time Her Majesty was seen wearing them in public was at the wedding of her son, then-Crown Prince Vincent, a month and a half before the plane crash that took her and her husband's lives.
The Simtier Diamond Choker
This beautiful piece was a wedding anniversary gift from her husband, King Richter. She often wore the choker during her many trips to the opera, ballet, and broadway shows.
Queen Katrina's Diamond and Ruby Ribbon Set
This is a historical set traditionally worn by Queens of Lunaria since the 1860s. It was gifted to Queen Katrina during her tenth year of reigning alongside her husband, the Mad King, Edward IV.
Edward chose rubies to be the stand-out jewels in the necklace and earring set due to his disturbing fascination with the color of blood. Katrina wore them often in order to avoid her husbands frequent and irrational tantrums. Thankfully, these jewels don't seem to carry any curses.
Queen Clarisse's Loop Tiara
A lightweight tiara designed by Her Majesty for functions of State, the jewels in the center of the diamond loops can be switched between sapphires or pearls. Clarisse entrusted the creation of her design to famed Celestri jeweler, Notte.

Game 11 Reduction Fri, June 7 7:30pm EDT Indiana @ Washington
Starting: WASH: Atkins, Dolson, Edwards, Samuelson, Vanloo (Sykes out with ankle injury, Austin hip recovery?) IND: Boston, Clark, Mitchell, Smith, Wallace
1st Quarter Austin again not playing… Edwards reverses to open scoring for DC. It's person D with help for DC. Fever are capitalizing on our mistakes. And whoa Fever fans are audibly in the arena. 7-13. Stef hits her second trey, then JVL steals the ball and follows suit to tie it up. DiDi Richards subs in and marks Clark, nearly stealing the ball but Clark recovers and shoots from way deep—crows roars. JVL behind the back pass to Aaliyah who draws a foul on the layup. The Fever like to RUN. We take the lead off a DiDi jumper 19-18. Aaliyah plays nice D on NaLyssa Smith but NaLyssa gets revenge and blocks her shot on the other end. I might have to gif JVL trying to mark Boston under the hoop. We are struggling to play transition D like, at all. They are getting so much for free—9 fast break points in fact. Third throwaway or maybe even fourth straight out of our timeout. They manage to do it once more before the quarter expires. If we mess up the 1st quarter instead of the 3rd or 4th like usual, does that mean we have enough time to make up for it? It's 19-28. Yeah. A 10-0 run for the Fever.
2nd Quarter Well, we throw it away first possession in the 2nd, so it's not looking bright. Both Samuelson sisters on the court right now :) Stef pulls up and she has 10 early. Threes still falling for the Fever. Pace continues and NaLyssa gets a nice driving basket. Jade still playing her game—straight to the rack. It's Aussie on Aussie the other end Jade/Kristy. Katie Lou saves the ball off her own three miss and we look bamboozled. 27-38 We have 8 turnovers already, 6 minutes left in the half. People are falling on the ground a lot, sometimes the reason is not apparent. Karlie steals the ball from Clark and then we promptly throw it away. Earl is taking the team on her back this quarter. Lead has shrunk to 4 for Indiana and they take a breather. Seriously, the floor is slick or something. This didn't happen last night… Edwards slices through three players to get the layin. My jaw actually gaped. We make up most of the difference in points, but it's felt like a series of one-on-one plays instead of what one might call an offensive plan. No complaints from me though. 40-42
3rd Quarter Earl drops 3 on the first play. Kelsey Mitchell answers. Alas, a throwaway early. Indiana answers that as well. Stef goes trey and Kristy mimics. Karlie and Caitlin miss, then JVL and NaLyssa, and now it's a three point contest. Karlie hits her next attempt and then stuffs Clark on the other end. Good energy. Stef is the hot hand tonight with another three and the lead. WASH 3pt% 43 – IND 3pt% 38 (right now according to one stat source) JVL ICES Kristy on side step three. WHERE WERE THESE THREES IN LITERALLY EVERY OTHER GAME? We are feeling ourselves at the moment. 57-54 Fever crashing the boards on our possessions. Clark has three 3s in the last few minutes, running hard then stopping short on the last one fooling DiDi. Earl, unphased, with a nice pull up shot the other way. 64-66
4th Quarter The younger Samuelson drops a buzzer three as we get started in the fourth. Big sis has been playing good D on Clark, but the latter still makes two quick threes. It's 3s for the Fever and 2s for DC. Turnovers still hurting us. Stef clutch three. Mitchell left alone and drains her response. A bit of mess then JVL gets 3. It's a one-possession game with 2 minutes remaining. A DC miss, Fever turn on a shot clock violation, and another miss and we're still down 2 with 39 seconds. We foul but get fortunate misses. However, we go for a difficult bucket and don't get it. Mean D line comes out to go for a steal. Only 17.8 to do it. Oh good…we foul instead shakes head. Clark gets both. We need 4 to send it to overtime. Karlie gets us 3 of them. Mean D returns on Fever reset. Quick foul, Clark makes 1. Our 3-ballers line enters. Rebound and ball tipped out of bounds on our half. 1.4 remaining—2 for OT, 3 to win it. We miss, we lose, we cry. 83-85. Three solid quarters were in fact not enough to make up for the first quarter failures. This sucks.
