anyone have tips for dealing with my Kriegsman's habit of digging up the yard? I've tried a whole variety of suggested methods but it still insists on getting into my Nurgling garden.

My Krieg was an unexpected addition to the family since we took it in after its Commissar passed and I couldn't bear seeing it get sent to a shelter (they're prone to self-euthanasia) so I didn't get the chance to do much research beforehand.

Theirs something brought to my attention about Helldivers that I don’t think many thought of but the Warhammer Fans pulled through again with the comparisons. For a bit of back story let me explain to you the most valuable Cannon Fodder that exists within Warhammer 40k. Everyone thinks of Space Marines when they think of Warhammer but they’re actually rare on a battlefield with most wars being preformed by their normal army, typically known as The Imperial Guard. Within the Guard is a Corp (or as they call themselves the Korps) Called the Death Korps of Krieg, or Kriegsman for Short. Long backstory made short they’re a group of Loyalistic Fanatics that were in Civil war for so long the planet turned into a nuclear wasteland and resorted to nothing but Trench Warfare. The winners surprised the Imperium by not only returning to the Imperium but already having a large contingent of Soldiers ready to enlist in the Imperial Army. Keep in mind that the Empire wrote them off as dead centuries ago and just abandoned the planet.

The Kriegsman are notable for the fact they do not fear death and instead embrace Death. They’ve been raised since birth to treat their own lives as expendable just to win a Centuries Long Civil War and that every death was worth it for just a few inches of land. Whenever a War Front gets too perilous and turns into a Meat Grinder the Empire says “Send in the Kriegsman” they’re thrown into hellish fights almost exclusively because they’re borderline suicidal and will do anything to complete a mission even if it means climbing on the bodies of their fallen comrades.

Helldivers are Kriegsman. They consist of the most Fanatic Among enlisted soldiers. Helldivers aren’t thrown in to win wars. In fact you’re not expected to survive your mission. Your thrown deep into enemy lines with no other support but your Fellow Helldivers, you Sabotage, Distract, Destroy Points of Interest and evacuate priority targets. Even if you die it’ll be considered a successful mission if you complete your goals. You’re Cannon Fodder given the illusion of being the best Super Earth has. You’re just there to jam the gears while the real fight takes down the enemy forces. You surviving is just a happy accident and you get to be more experienced Cannon Fodder for the next fight.

two Kriegers live in my head rent free right now. A geriatric early 30s lieutenant who has never known any tenderness or closeness in his life and a baby early 20s krieger who can't speak due to a traumatic injury to his throat from his sad past. having to survive together after being left behind in no mans land. slowly growing into an almost problematic codependence on each other until one day they end up like a bonded pair of cats.

oh no that have to cuddle together for warmth! oops did one of them just risk their life to save the other? quickly take off your pants so i can dress the wound on your thigh! did they just kiss after they thought they had lost the other?

kiss kiss fall in love my little traumatized weapons of war.

I know relatively little about warhammer - I'm far from a Lore-Nerd on it, but I think I can have a surface level conversation about it.

But I can't get this Idea out of my head, and I don't know how well it fits into the GrimDark setting of Warhammer 40k

Kriegsmen have Hollow eyes, for it all they need to see to their duty - Die for The Emperor - at least, that is what some claim.

It would make sense - they are born to die, and they do it well.

At least, they usually are.

The base had been overrun with Orks, the greenskin having felled most others here.

The Krieger shuffled about, taking piece from broken vehicles and hurriedly riveting them together, pulling their mask off and using it's hose to finish their makeshift weapon - a Jury-rigged flamer.

The Orks closed in, chortling and laughing, slinging lead and insults, jeers and blades.

"Emperor I plead for your mercy ..."

One Ork entered the wrecked garage, spotting the small Human.

They were hardly an adult - not that the Ork knew, it was just an 'Umie to it - Pale, sallowed skin with yellowed teeth, and eye that were sunken in.

" ... For I'm not Dying Here."

Then Fire came. It roared, burning so bright the beige clothes of the Krieger seemed bleached to pure white, reflected in Full, Vicious eyes that refused death.

In seconds the Ork was immolated.

In Minutes, word spread of the Ash-Black 'uman with the Whitest of Fires spoutin' from their Dakka.

In hours, even long after the Krieger should have run out of Fuel, the fire raged on - The toughest, Deadliest human any Ork in the area saw, and they each knew every death fueled the Flamer just enough to kill another two.

In a day Orks flung themselves at the Krieger who Couldn't Die, swift from the Blood on their coat, Too tough to die from Dakka, and with Dakka of their own too white to survive, each one hoping to be the one to win such a fight - None could.

So how'd I do? This any good? It's kind of an abrupt end, but I genuinely don't know where to go from there. Won't the Kriegsman get a name for doing something of this scale, or does it need to be bigger?
