As soon as I heard Kratos saying he knew how to play the lyre, I immediately thought he’d play with Calliope, so this came into being. It’s probably one of the reasons he won’t play anymore.
Honestly, I’m just obsessed with creating art of Kratos with Calliope, before his deal with Ares. In the GoW games before the Norse saga, he showed his absolute love for his daughter. Making a flute for her, kissing her as she was sleeping (even though it was an illusion), giving up Elysium just so she could still live on. Like, I can’t stop obsessing over the love he has for her. It’s taking over my life. 😅
Side note: I took artistic liberty with Calliope and Lysandra’s looks, just cause I wanted to.

Wow, I wasn’t expecting my previous Atreus+Calliope post to get so many views! Thank y’all so much for the support!! <333
Here are some more pose studies drawn from reference, this time featuring Laufey and Lysandra, Kratos’ sun and moon! Their designs and colour palettes really give me those celestial vibes loll And speaking of designs, I redid Lysandra’s so that she’s wearing a peplos instead of ... Whatever her dress is called in the games ^^;;
So while the kids are running around (and Kratos is stressing out), these ladies are just chilling in some kind of combined afterlife having plenty of girls’ nights out hahaa
Also, the second sketch is directly based off of “Systrar,” Hedvig Palm photographed by Elisabeth Toll for SSAW Spring/Summer 2013!

Wanted to draw Lysandra, after a couple of months since her and Kratos's wedding. You know, it is wedding tradition for spartan brides to cut their hair very shortly (somewhere written they should be shaved very closely to the scalp). She did that too. Her hair is slightly grew up since then, and Kratos gifted her blue hair band which she wears in the first games. Actually, all this time he cheered her up about her man-like look, because she is the most beautiful woman and love of his life anyway, and if she were a man, he'd find her a place in his army and never left her alone.

Another amazing chapter of @arleniansdoodles work “Of Atreus and Calliope”, means another rusty sketch coming from me lol.
This time I was trying to replicate Atreus’ and Calliope’s sketches of Lysandra that were mentioned in the story. I did my best and even added some extra smudges to recreate how the page in the journal looked, along with some of Calliope’s frustration while drawing her mother.

This fic if so good that perhaps I will just continue sketching things from new chapters 👀
And I really want to thank the author for this wonderful work and reposting my previous work 💗
You’re doing amazing with this and I will stick around for this story, although it may never be finished. It’s just too good to pass on 💗💗

I just needed to remind myself that I still know how to draw semi-realistically lmaoo That aside, here’s a painting for my post-Ragnarok AU! The idea came to me while I was thinking about my fic, and I liked it so much that I decided to draw it (and rework the fic’s outline a teensy bit to include it) XDD
I’m willing to bet y’all will be able to recognize the characters around Atreus and Calliope, but if not, no worries! They’re from the original GoW games: Callisto, Kratos’ mother; Deimos, his younger brother; and Lysandra, his first wife. I don’t want to give too much away about where this scene will take place in my fic, and what the exact setting and context is, but I think there’s enough tidbits in the painting to guess at what’s happening! :DDD
It was also lots of fun to add little family resemblances between the characters XDD I heard somewhere (though I can’t remember where) that Atreus’ scar is a magic/hereditary thing, since it matches the shape of Deimos’. Other than that, I like to imagine he has a bit of his uncle’s features, while Calliope has some of her grandmother’s!
