a lot of newer christmas movies are fun and silly, making santa cool and/or jacked and like, I'm here for that! but like. why can't they ever be fucking fat. why do i only ever see fat santas in ads or like, rankin bass stuff. it's one of his defining features! he's FAT. let him be fat!!!!!!! why can't he be cool and fat? jacked and fat? there are some where like, he's big, which is cool, like Klaus, but it's always this stylized boxy-proportion made to look big but not fat. im just. so tired. he can be fat if he's funny, or silly, or old. haha. look at the jolly fat man. but when he's supposed to be cool? or powerful? nope! can't have a fat character be shown as cool or powerful or attractive!! even if it's a DEFINING CHARACTER FEATURE.

god forbid people be fat. god forbid fat people be shown as anything other than silly or a joke.

I don't know how to articulate this well, but I really fucking hate the way a lot of thin writers write fat characters. Like how men write women "breasting boobily" there is something so dehumanizing about how fat characters are often written. "He waddled", "he lumbered", the writer of the book I'm reading always mentions this characters "fleshy hand" when he does something with his hand. Like, we already know that he's fat. There is no need to describe everything he does as "doing it fatly".

Abusive girls exist and what they’re doing is seen as like “badass tough don’t take no shit” but your girl should not hit you. Ever.

She should not demand for you to hand over your phone to look through.

She should not yell at you and humiliate you either alone or in front of people.

She shouldn’t make you distance yourself from your friends or family.

She shouldn’t scratch you or twist your arms.

She should not call you names.

She shouldn’t tell you ‘she’ll kill herself if you break up’

These are just a few examples of abuse and it’s just seen as okay when girls do it and god knows I’ve fallen victim to it a few times, but you shouldn’t have to.

Never worry about not being in a relationship. If they’re worth it, they won’t hurt you.

No one has the right to hurt you.

Do y’all remember how, on Twitter, Elon started a tirade against artists who ask for credit when their art is reposted, and he suddenly he created one of the first big art AI programs?

Do y’all remember how AI destroyed the field of freelance translation, despite the inferiority of the machine translations, because companies didn’t care about the quality of the translations? They just wanted it done for free?

Do y’all know how companies will see a lot of money going into a New Tech Thing (like, say, AI art apps) and will jump to try and implement that New Tech Thing into their tech? For example, how it felt like every big company and celebrity had an NFT to sell?

tbh im really tired of us making light of straight women feeling compelled to marry men they don't like due to the combo of robbed agency and the idea that women should naturally be expected to compromise on their own wants and needs. like this is an element of patriarchy but you're still logging into twitter talking about "straight women can date ANYONE and they pick men who hate them". can we practice some critical thought and (more importantly) compassion?

- too sweet is about seizing the day and ignoring healthy habits in favor of having more fun with unhealthy ones. he’s actively critical of himself in the song. it’s now called a song about thinking you’re superior for drinking black coffee.

- take me to church is about worship as a metaphor for sex. it’s called a religious song.

- eat your young is a song about war and political greed. it’s called a song about sex.

- now, the strongly political message of nobody’s soldier is being ignored in favor of calling it a metaphor for hozier’s relationship with his fans.

when are we going to stop simplifying hozier’s music down to cute little cottagecore bogman forest music? maybe you dont want to hear this but i don’t care. quit listening to hozier for the aesthetic. there’s a reason why empire now, foreigner’s god, butchered tongue, etc. songs with unignorable political messages are among his least popular songs.
