I have finally slept well, so I'm ready to share my impressions regarding my 1st Joker Out gig of this year (3rd in total), this time in Kraków.
Ahhh!!! It was amazing! I loved that the guys were dressed in the colours of Polish flag 🇵🇱It was so cute and it suited them well! Watching the streams of previous gigs of the current tour, I wasn't very much convinced about more "casual" outfits (I'm a huge fan of Stožice outfits and their variations - Kris in the white outfit in Warsaw - my jaw literally dropped 😲), although now I really love them! It's just a different phase :)
The stage was pretty small and I was staying on my "casual" Jan and Nace side. I just love looking at them 😍 how they have fun with each other, either by walking around one another with stupid looks, playing peekaboo with a Polish flag, or when Nace is rubbing Jan's shoulder when the other one is pretty tired after the gig. I just love those two 😍😍
I loved all the songs, especially those with more intense guitar riffs (Šta bih ja, Everybody's waiting - second part, Ne bi smel, Plastika) where I could really lose myself in the music.
As during the previous gigs, I'm in such awe when it comes to Bojan managing the crowd. He always knows what to answer, it shows his great experience on the stage ofc, but it's more than that! He's just... right person in the right place. For example, when a girl invited him to her prom he said: "But there's five of us, it will be funny, all of us dancing in a circle 😂😂😂 ", showing appropriate gestures
Tumblr media
Or when people started saying they have birthday 🎂 that day, after another person said that he was "Now you're lying 🤥😂" and he sang "Happy birthday EVERYONE" 😂.
Btw, it's my birthday today 🥳 and that's not a lie 😊
I really enjoyed this gig and I can't wait for the next one! Next stop - Antwerp! Who's coming there? ;)
Enjoy my very bad photos, but I like them anyway 😜

Aha! And Jan in "Jan pierdolę" shirt and Adidas tracksuit! To give you a wider context - the phrase "Ja pierdolę!" where "Ja" means "I", can be translated into "Oh, fuck!", and, from my own experience, it can be used in different contexts - either to express irritation, anger, but sometimes also excitement. The name "Jan" is very same both in Polish and Slovenian, both in writing and in pronunciation. It was so funny 🤣 to see him in this t-shirt!

Summer 2024
Mission Poland
I’ve been very weary of polish Joker Out and Käärijä fans for a while despite the few I’ve met irl being wonderfully kind people. Every time I hear the Joker Out boys begging the fans not queuing in ways that goes beyond their own safety, a crowd so rowdy that others have been hurt or that one time Jure was followed around and cornered against his will … that has to do with polish fans or Poland.
One would think me a hypocrite then when I say I now have two tickets to Polish Käärijä gigs in December.
I kind of see this as exposure therapy. If I’m weary of the polish fans but all my experience about them is second hand then by experiencing a gig (or two) myself, I hope to learn, that it’s not so bad as my mind made it up to be.
I will say that my planning is a bit tighter than I’m comfortable with. If keeping up with my plan so far I won’t be having a hotel room after the gig in Kraków but sleep in the bus to Warszawa to then probably not having a hotel room yet again since I’ll be flying home around 6 am the next day. Where will I find the time to sleep? To put on my testosterone? To have my stuff during the concerts?
Good thing there’s a few months yet so I can maybe contact some of the other people I know will go to the gigs and hear what their plans are and maybe we can find out something together (I know at least one person that’ll also go to both the Kraków and Warszawa gigs so maybe we can figure out something together – I can always just cancel my bus).

35th edition - 12th July, 2019
After almost a year of technical break, we're back in the game with Sofar Sounds Krakow. Our first event was a special ''Iranian'' Sofar, created in cooperation with Krakow's city council (www.krakow.pl), mr Jan Burkat, mr Jerzy Donimirski (donimirski.com), Perskie Dywany, East Analytics, and Uvibe. Posters for our event were designed by Spaced Studio, everything was filmed by Rafał Kuczyński, and the audio was taken care of by Manufaktura Dźwięku. The event took place at Studio Luma, a place located at ulica Ślusarska 9, near Kazimierz district. At first, our city leader Marianna Kosch introduced to the audience the story behind Sofar Sounds.
Tumblr media
There were only two Iranian artists playing that evening: Farkey & Sasan Bakhsheshi. During their sets, people could see a range of beautiful photos from Iran taken by Poza Trasą Adventure. Colorful Persian rugs were lying on the floor and people needed to take off their shoes in order not to damage these rugs somehow. Farkey, an Iranian musician who plays electronic ambient/electronic/minimal got to the stage first. It was his first live performance (and he has only one song on Soundcloud) and much to that, it was incredible to experience it there, at Studio Luma, in Poland. The musician used a voice of a famous Iranian singer in some of the songs he played. His music created a rather soothing atmosphere and you could see people moving their heads to the rhythm, seating and smiling with eyes closed. By the end he played a quite spontaneous (and great) improvisation on Nord Stage 3 and people were very pleased with his performance. We recommend all of you to listen to his music.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, after 10 minutes break, Sasan Bakhsheshi started his set by saying that when he arrived in Poland a few days before the event and met many amazing people, he noticed that Poland and Iran are not so much different from one another, because both countries got through so much in history and survived. As he told the audience, he plays an „industrial noise music”. It wasn't a usual 3 or 4-song set like artists play at our events, it was rather a long sequence of sounds cut into two parts. The music felt like a journey through space and time – a link between two countries, two cultures.  The sound gradually became louder and louder. Some songs started quite peacefully, then they shifted toward a more industrial-driven or noise-driven vibe which created a peculiar atmosphere, a feeling of loosing oneself into music. And once again, you could see people moving their heads or shoulders to the rhythm, and enjoying the set very much, as they could not stop applauding after the musician ended his performance. An amazing music worth listening to!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After our gig, people cheerfuly talked with one another and with the artists, praising their music. But the special ''Iranian'' edition of our Sofar without the help of all the aforementioned people and organizations and, of course, all of the audience, music lovers who came to our gig. Our next gig is very near. 19th July – we're coming!

the boys where lovely tonight 🥺
Niko hugged Aleksi tightly, Joel cuddled Olli so closely I thought for a moment they'd kissed, Joonas put his head on Niko's shoulder from the back, Joel put his arms around Joonas and Niko got on his tiptoes and gently kissed Joel on the cheek 😭
Aleksi and Olli and Joel all looked at and smiled at me 🥰 Joel loved how much I was dancing and headbanging and pointed at me 🖤 and also Niko saw me singing along (and maybe doing some raphands) and gave me a smug smile and I'm like asdfghjkl. dead. done. gone from the earth. stupid rap hobbit. 💕💕💕
I got as many pics and video clips as possible but I'm still not sure if anything came out of those, and I don't know when I'm gonna have time to go through them because I'm leaving for the airport like at 6.30 tomorrow morning so 🙃
Also the gig somehow turned into a random BC tumblr meeting because I went there with @drippinlou @paleangels13 @thisisntaparty and @yourlocalharbourmaster and I then ran into @ladysorbus and @theflyingfeeling 🖤🥰🥺
so anyways tomorrow I'm gonna be fucking off to tour Kraków -> Prague -> Berlin -> Zürich -> Lucern -> Liechtenstein for two weeks
and I never been to any of those countries and I've never been away from home this long and I'm so excited and hyped but also very very nervous 😶
I already got some great tips for Poland & Switzerland but please if anyone has any more hmu 🙏
