Pop songs I wish "Wish" had taken from for their soundtrack

For context:

"Bigger" for "Welcome to Rosas." Kind of a cheat since "Bigger" is from a soundtrack (one affiliated with Disney, too), but it's an impactful opening track written and performed by a pop icon. The message of being part of something amazing and bigger than yourself is a wonderful message that WTR could've done well with, rather than a simple welcome song. Plus it could also show the desperation to have your wish granted, a selfishness beneath the surface, Disney-level altruism.

"Someone You Loved" for "At All Costs." Granted, AAC is the strongest song from the soundtrack. However, it was a missed opportunity to dive into Magnifco and Asha's pasts and motivations more. A bittersweet song like SYL (which was about losing someone close to you) would've been good inspiration to make this song just as wistful as it was beautiful.

"Sine From Above" for "This Wish." TW is...it's just so basic. If the rumors about Julia Michaels having three weeks to make the soundtrack and no changes is true, then I can't blame her. But the song is still terrible and lacks the awe and majesty that the marketing song should have. SFA is the better version of this song, basically.

"Just Like Magic" for "I'm a Star." Hot take: I wanted IAS to be a powerful ballad rather than a flat, cute-sy song, which may not be a popular idea since it'd come right after a powerful ballad. But anything was better than the educational tv-vibes it gave off. JLM is about the Laws of Attraction, about putting out good energy into the world and getting it back into yourself. Asha would need something like that after the "devastating" realization she discovered about her kingdom.

"This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" for "This is the Thanks I Get?!" Honestly, this is self-explanatory when you listen to both songs. It's like Taylor wrote a Magnifico song herself. And it's not even about being a villain! It's about being taken advantage of and dealing with ungrateful people.

"Wide Awake" for "Knowing What I Know Now." Seeing how WA is about having a crushing realization hit you and feeling the freedom to move on from it is a powerful feeling, something that would've been better than KWIKN--though I do blame part of the song's failure on the fact that Asha's friends aren't fleshed out enough for the song not to be sung by random people.

Berserk Soundtrack Returns to Vinyl in Audiophile Edition, Orders Go Live Today

  When it comes to nabbing some of the most sought after anime soundtracks on vinyl, you have to be pretty quick. Tiger Lab Vinyl recently launched its Hunter x Hunter soundtrack and it sold out in seconds, so hopefully fans of Berserk will be able to get their hands on today's big launch. 

  Starting at 12:00pm Eastern Time at the Tiger Lab website, orders go live for the 1997 Berserk soundtrack, which returns in Tiger Lab's very first Audiophile Edition. The deluxe pressing has been cut at 45rpm and pressed on 180gram black vinyl across two LPs for an even better experience listening to Susumu Hirasawa's score. 

  The BERSERK: Deluxe Audiophile Edition will be available to order today at noon in black-on-black and red logo gatefold package options.

    For some non-anime fun, Tiger Lab is also launching the soundtrack to Paul Hertzog's KICKBOXER. Is this synth-wave score to the 1989 Jean-Claude Van Damme classic an unexpected pick for Tiger Lab? Strangely, no. 

  KICKBOXER will be available to order at noon in a broken glass and blood splatter variant, and a Nok Su Kow variant (white opaque vinyl).

Is anybody else getting sick and tired of the mainstream press and nerd press basically pretending to be deep cut comic book fans.

Because I swear to God I’ll go ape shit if I hear or see one more goddam video or article or podcast wax lyrical about how in Homecoming they ‘finally got Spider-Man right’ and ‘put him where he belonged’ in the MCU.

These people...okay.

These people ARE real fans...just grossly ill informed and shallow ones who worship at the ass of the MCU.

These are the sorts of people who yes can tell Iron Fist sucked and Doctor Strange was a bit lackluster but they aren’t saying how royally they dropped the ball on those characters.

Because they can’t say that.

Because they don’t know.

Because they’ve never read those characters in any length or depth.

And the same applies times ten with Homecoming.

Enjoying the movie is aokay...but what Spider-Man fan who kows what they are talking about with the character HONESTLY watched Homecoming and was like:

They FiNALLY got him right!

This is the best Spider-Man ever

This perfectly captures what the character is about

All is right in the world now that Spider-Man is part of the MCU

I’m sorry but whether you are a USM or 616 comics fan...this was a laughable rendition of Spider-Man.

Now I’m not saying the Raimi or Webb movies nailed the character 100%. Nor that Holland couldn’t do so (he’s like Henry Cavill in that regard).

But they sure as fuck came closer than this movie did.

Because in iron clad seriousness if you cannot tell that Spider-Man being an incompetent Avengers fanboy crossbred with Miles Morales is fucked up what is wrong with you?

Shit people nowdays are praising Spider-Man 2 all over again alongside Hoemcoming but like...they are literally presenting you with the OPPOSITE thing to one another.

They can’t BOTH have been good because then they’d BOTH need to get the character but the character is drastically different in both.

Ugh...Themes.

Why do some themes make it just  so hard to reblog things? Your comment is funny.  I want to reblog your art. I want to give you credit. So why does your theme hide any way for me to reblog, or comment, or in any way interact with the stuff I presume you, as a content creator, want me to share? I’m sure there’s a small subsection of posts that people don’t want shared (that usually go under a cut anyway), but I’d expect anything like that to be tagged with ‘please don’t reblog, this is personal’. But I’m literally talking about pages that say stuff like ‘this is my relateable everyday comic/art, please share’. I know most of us rely on our dashboards, and to be honest I mostly only visit my actual front-of-shop tumblr webpages when I want to search my own archives, so I kow it’s easy to not even consider our theme because we barely use it. But given that content creators rely on things like reblogs, why would anyone hide that functionality on themes? Why would anyone choose a theme that doesn’t let fans interact with the work they need to be shared?

First experiences

I like sharing processes and seeing works of art emerge, so I hope whoever is reading this (if anyone is actually reading this) will enjoy it too!

Well, let's go!

So far, it has been 3 days of hard work. I'm not ashamed to say that the KoW Project really got me excited and the fact that I had a period off from University (which is coming to an end, thank the stars as I really want to start studying) motivated me to do as much as my body could. and my mind could handle it without it feeling forced and toxic. Thanks to that, I managed to finish planning the first scene!

Lol, yes, all these papers with writings and drafts are the first scene!

I was surprised – I didn’t expect a scene to be so big! Literally my only reaction to this was "Wow-"

I talked to the comic book writer and she said that I was going through the same difficulty as her when writing this introductory scene: The difficulty of fitting a long and complex backstory into a short space of time in a clear and objective way.

In total, the narration scene that tells from the creation of Wish Magic to the (supposed) story of Florian, Magnus and Amaya is 17 pages long.

This is in Brazilian Portuguese, probably no one will understand, but basically it says the title of the work, chapter 1, "scene 1", the word pages ("página") and their corresponding numbers.

Here we come to an interesting point, if you read my post about the "Production stages of the Fan Comic of "The Wish Kingdom" !!!" you will see that I mentioned that I would do each step per chapter…

Well that has changed.

I discovered that working only on planning tires me, I get sick and exhausted, so I'll alternate between planning and drawing the scenes, little by little putting together the chapters in the best way possible for me and the readers.

It's my first time putting together a comic book, I'm discovering what should be done and how it should be done, as well as getting to know myself a little in the process.

The conclusions I draw from this first experience is that challenging yourself to do new things can make you understand more about yourself, surprise you and be fun and tiring at the same time!

(cliché I know, but I really wanted to close this post with this little reminder Lmao)

I have seen the Star Wars

And I liked it a lot. More under the cut because

SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!

I have managed to see this movie without knowing anything about it before (besides seeing the trailer), also thanks to tumblr new feature to blacklist content. I don’t remember the last time I saw a movie without knowing anything about it before, because especially with big movies like Star Wars or Marvel movies it gets really hard these days to avoid spoilers if you don’t want to avoid the internet all together. I have seen some (spoiler-free) first postive reviews, so I was a bit surprised to see wank/negative reviews on tumblr.

I admit that when it comes to Star Wars I am a casual fan. I have seen the movies, and as the guys I went to the cinema last night confirmed I do know what I’m talking about (also hopefully I found some new cinema buddies). I care about the characters and the story, but I am probably not as emotional invested as others. I like the idea of some ships, but very casual, and my entertainment of these movies is not influenced by any ships. That is not to say that I don’t get why some people might be upset about certain aspects about the movie. Everyone who follows this blog knows I ship Dean and Cas, and while there are many other aspects why I watch this show, I am emotional invested in this ship. So yeah, I get it.

Overall I liked this movie a lot. I need to see it a second (and third) time but for now I would say I liked it better than The Force Awakens. Which was a great movie, but as many noticed it kinda used Episode IV as a blueprint. Ironically I feel that many people back then critized this, who now critize that The Last Jedi no longer feels like Star Wars. I disagree. I felt that there where many parallels and references to the old movies, but at the same time they tried to do something new, to subvert some tropes and the audience’s expectations. Big movies, especially the Original trilogy, work a lot with tropes, so they took some risk here with breaking what the audience expected to see. I think in parts they already did this with Rogue One, which tone was different (read darker) than what you would expect from a Star Wars movie. Then again it was a stand alone movie, which allowed them to try out new things. Again I get why to some people feel like this isn’t Star Wars anymore, but I personally liked the new direction they are going.

Visually it was a great movie. There were a lot of iconic scenes/shots, and Rian Johnson certainly likes the colour red. The scenes that (visually) stand out for me were the fight between Rey and Ben vs the Red Guard and the whole big fight at the end on Crait. They do kow how to work with colours. But unlike other directors Johnson didn’t forget to focus on his characters first and foremost. They were a lot of great character moments, a lot of insight, though of course with the sheer amount of characters they couldn’t give every character the same focus.

I feel like the movie had some lengths in the second part. But then this is a general problem these days that I feel that every movie has to be at least 150 minutes long, where I think 120 minutes would have been enough (and does anyone remember 90 minutes long movies?). The other thing is that of course The Last Jedi is the second part of a trilogy, so naturally it feels like it is missing a proper end. The Force Awakens was the set up, and while The Last Jedi continues the story, it can not end it. We do get some answers but at the same time a lot of new questions.

I also feel like this was the darkest Star Wars movie yet (excluding Rogue One). There was a huge body count and the constant reminder that we are in the middle of a war. Yes, the Original Trilogy also took place during a rebellion, but they never showed the casualties so openly. Furthermore The Last Jedi repeatedly shows us our heroes failing their missions. We expect them to win, because they always do, but they don’t. People die and there is nothing to be gained expect heartbreak and grief. At the end of the movie the rebellion is at its lowest point, but yet they remain hopefull. They fight and they fail, but they never lose their hope.

Some other things:

- I liked that they gave Poe a bigger role this movie, though I hope that we do get to see more about his backstory in the last movie. I know that there are comics and books who explore his background more, but I would love to see some aspects of this in the movies. I want to know more about his relationship with Leia. I don’t think Poe was portrayed as making the wrong choices, and neither was Holdo (or Leia). They were trapped in a situation where they were no longer right or wrong choices. I think they made a good point to show us both Poe’s and Holdo’s thought process and to question each of their decisions. I’m glad Poe finally met Rey. I hope they become BFF. Oscar Isaac looked very good and I’m pretty sure some shots were only designed to remind us of this fact.

- Luke. Oh Luke. I admit that I had some trouble believing that he wanted to kill Ben. This is the same guy who convinced his father to give up the dark side, not through fighting, but through love and hope. I do believe that he had some doubts and that his exile was a punishment for the damage he had caused to Ben. Would he have killed Ben? No, I don’t think so. I don’t think it is completely out of character for him to be afraid of Ben going dark side. But I get why this scene caused so much debatte.

I could already tell that something was off about him when he appeared on Crait because the beard was wrong. I think narratively that his death made sense and the callback to the iconic two suns scene was beautiful. He died in peace, being one with the force. And seeing as this was the second death of one member of the original trio this continues the theme of letting go of the past.

- Speaking off. Luke burned down the last remains of the Jedi religion. Ben told Rey to let go of the past. The message here is clear. Star Wars is heading into a new direction. One that has its roots in the past, but who is trying out new ways and tries to form their own identity. I wouldn’t be surprised if the third movie marks the end of both the Jedi and the Sith/The First Order. The force, as Luke tells us, doesn’t belong to the Jedi. It is neither good or bad, the same as the force users are neither good or bad. The Force is all about balance. We know from the past that the Jedi haven’t been perfect either. Seeing as they already plan a new trilogy after this one ends, that will not feature any Skywalkers, we might also see an universe without Jedi and Sith.

- Reylo. I admit that this is a ship I couldn’t get behind after The Force Awakens, as I couldn’t see Rey falling for a guy who had just killed his own father. I’m still not sure about this ship or Ben’s character in general (I call him Ben, because that is a better name then Kylo, and Rey did so as well, so). I’m not sure if I want a redemption arc for him or how it could work. I know Vader got one, but it ended in his death. I am also not sure if their relationship is romantic. They are connected through the Force and the only other two characters we saw being connected like this were Luke and Leia. So, romantic false lead only to be revealed to be siblings/cousins/relatives? And yes I know that Ben told Rey about her parents, but I am not sure if this was the truth. On the one hand it would be cool to have a character like Rey, who doesn’t come from a powerful family, to be such a powerful Force user. But Ben’s line, that she is nobody except to him, I didn’t see it as romantic. If anything it was manipulative to tell her that nobody cared about her except for him. I think their relationship/dynamic is interesting and it certainly added more to Ben’s character. Still don’t ship it though.

- Force user Leia!!!!! I saw some people surprised by this, confirming to me that some people simply forget that Leia is a force user as well, even though she isn’t a Jedi. I obviously wish we would have seen more of her as this was Carrie Fisher’s last movies. Loved her interactions with Poe and that she had the chance to say goodbye to her brother.

- I loved Rose. I know some people complained about the lack of diversity but I honestly don’t see it like that. We had plenty POC and women, and even more women in leading positions, at least in the rebellion. Still missing a queer character though. But yeah, Rose. Lots of love. And I liked that their mission Cantonica put some focus on the complexities of the ongoing war. Showing us the people who became rich because they sold weapons (to both sides) and how the poor suffered. I have no feelings towards Rose/Finn. I think they were cute together but it is also not set in stone that they do become a thing. (Though I think it is still more likely we get Finn/Rey than Finn/Poe, because I don’t trust big movies with queer ships)

- Maze/ Captain Phasma. I feel like they wanted to include those two characters but then they didn’t know what to do with them. Especially Captain Phasma. In a way I’m glad they killed her off because they wasted the potential of this character completely.

@JoeyIQ I can attest that the Kemp boys are good kids.   I spent many a day talking wrestling with the patriarch Nick Kemp.   He was as nasty as they came in the ring, but his boys were taught to respect this business and go about their business the right way.   The fact that Willy Gordon understands that gives me hope.

@JoeyIQ Many of you have been asking me what I think Pablo should do.   I am not sure how committed Pablo is to the wrestling world anymore so I can't answer that.   However, I can tell you that nobody with a brain would sign with BSW.   So I can assume that means if he wants the money he will sign with GSW.  If he wants to finish off his legacy PWA has a historic championship title belt just waiting for someone to wear.

@DaleHutchinsGrapsReporter I've never heard of anything like this happening before. I have NO clue what is going to happen since the O'Connor group is not giving out any clues about what direction they plan on going.

@JoeyIQ Knowing Pablo, I can only imagine that BSW is in the building to help drive up his price.  There is no way he would sign with a dead end company like Bull Shit Wrestling.  At this point I think GSW has to be in the lead, but don't count out PWA.

@DaleHutchinsGrapsReporter BSW, through a SUPER video on Youtube, announced the signing of the Cyborg Kingdom from Mexico's TLL. Cyborg King, Cyborg Queen & Cy-Force the tag team will all be participating in BSW!  

@DaleHutchinsGrapsReporter BSW also announced in a hilarious Youtube video the signings of "Hot Stuff" Stevie Porter, The Masked Hobo, Dr. Six VI 6, "White Knight" Dennis Crusader, "Loose Cannon" Damned Goober, "Porno King" Lover Days & "A/C Repariman" Kenny Hawkins!

@DaleHutchinsGrapsReporter Cyborg Kingdom are AMAZING and Cyborg King vs Jason Layzer is a DREAM match up that has never happened! A lot of hardcore & comedy talent announced but I think that shows they intend on a wide range of content to appeal to a wider base.

@JoeyIQ Groan ... Like most people, I enjoyed Cyborg King in ASLL.  It's a shame he has signed with BSW.  A DREAM for me would for Cyborg King to stay as far away from Jason Layzer as possible.

@DaleHutchinsGrapsReporter BSW is so forward & progressive thinking, I can't wait for TV to start! And apparently they have surprises they won't announce ahead of time so.. I can't wait to see who is brought on board!

@DaleHutchinsGrapsReporter GSW announced the signings of Bully Kong & former Girl Fight & Class of 2011 Portugese star Cristiana. Very low key announcements but they also promised many surprises when they start TV. We will see how that goes, probably boring & predictable.

@DaleHutchinsGrapsReporter Willy Gordon's PWA announced a women's division of their own! Brittany Young of the Young clan, Class of 2011's Catherine MacDonald & Amanda Irvine, all 3 former Girl Fight stars.

Some warnings + Chapter 1 Progress!!!!!

HELLO MY LOVELY STARS!!!

You didn't expect to see me updating KoW so soon, did you???

I usually post updates on Saturday or Sunday, but I'll be traveling so I decided to leave the previews today.

In fact, this trip is the warning I have to give. I will be away from my work desk and my materials for a few days (I don't know exactly how many but between one and two weeks), therefore I will not be able to make progress on the Comic during this period.

This is sad I know. But look on the bright side, I'm going to get a lot of rest and return to work with renewed energy!!!

Anyway, without further ado, let's get to what everyone wants to see:

THE CONTINUATION OF THE OUTLINES OF CHAPTER 1 OF "THE KINGDOM OF WISHES"

"But when the big day arrived, Florian was crowned king, as Magnus still didn't feel confident and claimed that something was missing in his life; something that gave him strength and courage!"

"It was then that Magnus met Amaya."

"The most beautiful maiden he had ever seen had been found adrift in a boat and taken shelter in the castle by order of King Florian."

"As a form of gratitude for the hospitality, Amaya began to serve the court as a royal alchemist and, as the days went by, she ended up winning Magnus' heart, finally making him feel like he could do...anything".

"Encouraged by his new love, Magnus decided to travel in search of adventure, leaving the kingdom to prosper in Florian's hands."

"But then, a tragedy happened. When Magnus returned to Rosas he discovered that his brother had passed away due to illness. A painful loss for the entire kingdom, which was made worse by Florian not having legitimate heirs"

"Magnus was moved. He could not let the magnificent legacy of his beloved brother and predecessors end like this."

"Feeling confident with Amaya by your side, Magnus took over the throne and changed the way wishes were granted monthly, doing dozens of them a week, making them float back to your Wish Makers, during the night"

The Kingdom was so happy and grateful that they began to name their new rulers with nicknames that reflected their magnificence and passion, thus making them known as King Magnífico and Queen Amable.

"The end".

Sabino: "I admire your taste in complex stories, Asha, but... Hmm...Don't you think this is too complicated for you?"

Asha: "I thought it was a fantasy book, but it's just romance. Yuck!”

Sabino: "Never judge a book by its cover, darling! What you have here is a history book."

Asha: "But he doesn't explain things very well.Where does Queen Amaya come from? And the king's staff?What disease did Florian die from?"

Sabino: "Well, Asha, let's see..."

"First, the queen is very private about her past, we have to respect that."

"Second. That staff is just a souvenir the king got on his travels."

Sabino: "And third. Sometimes bad things just... happen... without explanation."

"And there's nothing we can do about it."

"Unless you move on..."

Out of context + Production change + Creators freaking out !

HELLO KOW FANS!!! How are you???

For this weekend's updates we have great news! I managed to finish the 17 sketches of the first scene of KoW (that giant that tells the backstory of the emergence of kings who grant wishes, for those out of date)... YAYYYYYYYYYY!!!

Unlike last week, I won't be showing the comics here, instead I'm presenting them "out of context"!

I'll throw some random images here, and on the day the Comic comes out, you guys try to come back here and try to see where I fit each reference!

Still talking about Comic, I had already mentioned that this is my first time working on a big project. I don't really know how to do things, I just know that I must do them and reach a result that the team and I consider satisfactory.

With that in mind, I was studying some creative processes and came across that of the great director Hayao Miyazaki .

I believe many of you know him, the internet hasn't stopped talking about him since "The Boy and The Heron" won the Oscar for best animation, besides @annymation already mentioned it in her fanfic, but in case anyone is new and doesn't know him, he is one of the biggest names in animation directors in Japan and the world.

Anyway, I discovered that, in his creative process, Hayao Miyazaki began to storyboard his films himself, sometimes without a pre-determined script, he just sat down and sketched out what he wanted or how he visualized the scene happening.

I tried this with a scene I was trying hard to write in my own original story and had a very fun and satisfying result. So, I decided to try to apply this process to making KoW: basically I'm reading the scenes that Anny wrote and trying to capture their essence by sketching as I read. Let's see what happens! Something tells me that this will make the Comic production process lighter and more fun for me, and that's a good thing considering that busy days are coming in my life (good busy days) !

However, this does not mean that the process will speed up. No. It may still be a little slow. But it does not matter. Calmly and with smiles, Me, @annymation and @uva124 let's make it happen!

I want to share something that made me, Anny and Aled freak out last night!

Yesterday, we were talking about my favorite topic: Aster.

I arrived presenting an idea I had while hiking — for Aster to get a star tattoo on his chest, with the words "Lacaille 8760" naming it.

And then this happened:

CHANGES OF PLANS (forgive me?)

Hi KoW fans, it's me again. It seems like I only appear here to share sad news Lmao.

I'll be short and direct: I'm not going to do the KoW Comic anymore .

Reasons?

1- It's a big project to do alone and without financial incentive.

2- Personal life occupations.

I hope you understand. This isn't just bad for you, it's also bad for me: it's frustrating to want to do something and agree with other people that you're going to do something, and suddenly, cancel everything...

But this isn't the end!!!!

Talking to my team (@annymation and @uva124) We decided that, instead of comics, I would do illustrations:

[ ] The illustration for the cover.

[ ] An illustration for each chapter.

(18 illustrations in total)

This way I will be able to work with fewer things in quantity, but do them with much higher quality.

I want to do an illustration for the song covers too, but I'm not promising that yet.

I hope you forgive me, but still give me a chance because I really love this fandom and everyone I met here!

This is not an update to the Comic, but it still has something to do with it !!!

(call it a little gift for the Wish Rewrite and KoW fandom)

Hello my little stars! How are you?

I mentioned in the last post in the series that I would be traveling for a week or two and that's why I wouldn't be working. Well I'm still traveling Lmao.

It's been a lot of fun, I'm visiting my Prince Charming and family, both of whom I haven't been to in a long time. Still, I couldn't stop thinking about KoW and Wish's Concept Arts. Disney sealed the fate of its fan artists by discarding so much good material, now they are embedded in our minds and we will not be able to rest until we see them realized. This is crazy but it's beautiful to see how much these discarded concepts generated creative potential in the fandom.

Because of all this I couldn't help but make some small sketches! And well, I came to show them here. They are not sketches of Comic panels, but they have something to do with it and I will show the photos and explain how.

This first one, very faded, are Magnificent and Amable's clothes (designed by @uva124, for the characters in @annymation's rewrite of Wish "The Kingdom of Wishes"). The drawings that Aled did are very complex, I don't judge her for that, in fact I thank her, she gave beautiful clothes to the centuries-old Disney villains and they are perfect. I really wish I could draw them with all the details, but I will do everything by hand, alone and seeking a minimally professional quality (I want to be a comic artist/book illustrator one day. This comic is my first step Lmao, and I want to do something that conveys the best I can give at the moment), so I need to make some things easier for myself. The costumes are one of those things.

" Better something simple and well done than complex and poorly done." — This is my motto for this Comic and for my life.

The next sketches are related to aesthetics. I've been watching a lot of "Analyzing the Art" videos of some Disney films and I was inspired to adopt some "Disney Style" features in my arts for this comic (not everything obviously, because I don't want to be sued by Disney lmao).

What you'll see next is me trying to mix this influence with my own style in some KoW character sketches.

Speaking of aesthetics. Anny received Chiara's aesthetic from someone — the north star, "daughter of Aster", created by his magic at the very end of Anny's fanfic. This Aesthetic inspired me to create an aesthetic for Asha and Aster too and these were the results:

Lmao, It took a lot of work to make Aster's. There are almost no things for "starboys" on Pinterest.

I'm leaving this up to you to share as you wish, consider it a gift to the fandom!

Lastly, I want to say that the artistic analysis videos They also inspired me to put together a moodboard for KoW and I'll be leaving it here. Not even Anny and Aled know about this and I can't wait to see their reactions! I wish I could print this painting and leave it on the wall, but unfortunately I don't have a printer T-T.

This moodboard is helping me with the artistic direction of colors, style and is a visual motivation to stay active at work.

First experiences

Sooooo I know that "Behind the Scenes" is usually released after the artistic products are released, but hey, why not do it before? I like sharing processes and seeing works of art emerge, so I hope whoever is reading this (if anyone is actually reading this) will enjoy it too!

Well, let's go!

So far, it has been 3 days of hard work. I'm not ashamed to say that the KoW Project really got me excited and the fact that I had a period off from University (which is coming to an end, thank the stars as I really want to start studying) motivated me to do as much as my body could. and my mind could handle it without it feeling forced and toxic. Thanks to that, I managed to finish planning the first scene!

Lol, yes, all these papers with writings and drafts are the first scene! I was surprised — I didn't expect a scene to be so big! Literally my only reaction to this was "Whoa-" I talked to the comic's writer and she said that I was going through the same difficulty as her when writing this introductory scene: The difficulty of fitting a long and complex backstory into a short time in a way that was clear, objective and had no missing ends. loose. In total, the narration scene that tells the story of the creation of Wish Magic up to the (supposed) story of Florian, Magnus and Amaya has 17 pages.

This is in Brazilian Portuguese, probably no one will understand, but basically it says the title of the work, chapter 1, "scene 1", the word pages ("página") and their corresponding numbers.

Here we come to an interesting point, if you read my post about the "Production stages of the Fan Comic of "The Wish Kingdom" !!!" you will see that I mentioned that I would do each step per chapter… Well that has changed. I discovered that working only on planning tires me, I get sick and exhausted, so I'll alternate between planning and drawing the scenes, little by little putting together the chapters in the best way possible for me and the readers. It's my first time putting together a comic book, I'm discovering what should be done and how it should be done, as well as getting to know myself a little in the process. The conclusions I draw from this first experience is that challenging yourself to do new things can make you understand more about yourself, surprise you and be fun and tiring at the same time! (cliché I know, but I really wanted to close this post with this little reminder Lmao)
