We were trying to figure out where the hell we were when suddenly I fell into a hole. A voice yelled out from under me, “Hinkle, Hinkle, ist das du?” I scrambled out of that foxhole and yelled, “Hinkle your ass, Kraut!” and ran. Thank God it was dark or he probably would have got a shot off. I found Ralph and we found our way back to the line. Ralph liked to remind me of that incident often. He’d say, “Hey Babe, how’s Hinkle?” Or “Have you seen Hinkle lately?” I wonder if Hinkle ever did make it back to his foxhole.

Day 15: Bestest Besties

I tend to pick things I recently watched. And I did with this one too. For me one of the best friend groups is the one from The Nipple Talk.

I know, this isn't really a bl, but a queer series (and so good! Just watch it people!). But I don't care! This series was so good. And it was so sex-positive and had so many different stories to tell. But through all of it, there was this stable core of friends who understand each other and are there for each other. When our romantic gay broke up with his boyfriend of three years they rushed to him to comfort him. They tell each other almost everything and can just see through the others lies. And even when they fought, they stand up for each other, because in the end, they are family for each other.

Medics and healers always have a special place in my heart (and on my poor weakened bookshelves 😅), especially in stories where there's a lot of people killing each other so here's a little post about the amazing people who provide care and relief for the body and the soul.

Our most familiar medics Eugene Roe and Ralph Spina but also medic Paul Jones (who might be a fictional character, I couldn't find anything researching him):

Medic Al Mampre who was wounded when trying to tend to Lt Brewer:

The civilian nurses Renée Lemaire and "Anna"(Augusta Chiwy).

Army surgeons like Barney Ryan:

Let's not forget the anonymous medics working as stretcher-bearer or aid-station personnel:

And religious representatives who also often performed a medic's task (and wear their armband) like Father Maloney:

(It's not mentionned in the serie but medical personnel also worked at the Grave Registration services, a gruesome job and more dangerous than one can imagine.)

I have like 3000 posts in my draft box waiting to be tagged but it's often too overwhelming so I just close the app every time I tell myself that I could make an effort to actually complete and post something instead of just uploading stuff and amd let it rot. 😅😅😅

Some stuff are so old it's not relevant anymore but I can't bring myself to just delete everything.
