Maid Cafe on Electric Street for PC launches November 18 - Gematsu
“Leisurely maid cafe adventure” game Maid Cafe on Electric Street will launch for PC via Steam on November 18 for $18.99, publisher PLAYISM and developer Adventurer’s Tavern announced. As previously announced, console versions are also in development.
Get the latest details below.
■ Maid Cafe on Electric Street to be Released on November 18!
“Um, would you be interested in becoming the new manager of the cafe?” Fuwa Fuwa Cafe—a maid cafe tucked away in a quiet part of Nipponbashi, and where a wonderful encounter is about to take place… You, the protagonist, quit your job at an extremely toxic workplace and find yourself at a run-down maid cafe, where a cute maid named Shiro works. At first, you only agree to become the new manager because it conveniently met all your urgent needs, but soon the colorful maids Miyu, Favna, and Honoka join in. And as you spend time with them and meet the people of Electric Street, both you and the cafe will gradually liven up once more. Maid Cafe on Electric Street is a story-focused adventure game where you enjoy daily life at Fuwa Fuwa Cafe. Make yourself a cup of coffee, relax, and immerse yourself in a heartwarming story. The game will soon be released on Steam on November 18, 2024! Please wishlist the game and look forward to release!
■ Maid Voice Cast Revealed! Demo to be Updated to Voiced Version
The four maids will be voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa (Shiro), Ayasa Itou (Miyu), Sayumi Suzushiro (Favna), and Yui Ishikawa (Honoka). This all-star voice cast has added even more dramatic flair to the story and make it all the more immersive!
Shiro (voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa)
“Um, would you be interested in becoming the new manager of the cafe?”
A maid who loves Fuwa Fuwa Cafe. A huge otaku for anime and video games, she talks really fast when she’s gushing about the things she loves, and often splurges on merch without thinking whenever she visits an anime shop. A little clumsy, but works hard every day to become the cute maid she’s always wanted to be. Ikumi Hasegawa’s notable roles include:
Masaki (Mayonaka Punch)
Lene Aurousseau (I’m in Love with the Villainess)
Ikuyo Kita (Bocchi the Rock!)
Vladilena Milize (86)
Miyu (voiced by Ayasa Itou)
“Hey Mr. Manager, thanks a bunch for hanging out with me today~☆” A game otaku and gyaru with a big appetite. Loves both eating and cooking, and apparently really enjoys serving her cooking to customers at Fuwa Fuwa Cafe. Is actually Shiro’s friend on the online game Magic Angel, so they knew each other before actually meeting in real life.
Ayasa Itou’s notable roles include:
Angelico Fra (Delico’s Nursery)
Kaoruko Hanayagi (Revue Starlight)
Arisa Ichigaya (BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!)
Favna (voiced by Sayumi Suzushiro)
“I am the Slayer of the False God, the Queen of the Kingdom of Darkness, the All-Seeing Oracle, the Guardian of All Dreams—“ A mysterious girl dressed in gothic Lolita fashion. Speaks in riddles and demands the protagonist become her familiar. She sometimes accidentally drops the edgy act when she’s taken by surprise though, so maybe she’s just got a serious case of chuunibyou…? Sayumi Suzushiro’s notable roles include:
Ayako (The Elusive Samurai)
Nijika Ijichi (Bocchi the Rock!)
Satono Crown (Uma Musume Pretty Derby)
Kylie (The Magnificent Kotobuki)
Honoka (voiced by Yui Ishikawa)
“Ya want a thrivin’ business? That there sounds like a job for our shrine!”
A girl with a Kansaiben dialect who works as a shrine maiden at her family shrine. Practically in charge of the shrine, she is reliable and very good at handling money! Is actually a doujin author…? Yui Ishikawa’s notable roles include:
Elise (Doctor Elise)
Saku Fukuzawa (The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today)
Violet Evergarden (Violet Evergarden)
Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan)
With this announcement, we’ve also updated the demo to include character voices! Enjoy the newly-voiced beginning of the story in the free demo with your favorite cup of coffee. (The demo can be downloaded from the game’s Steam page, but demo data cannot be carried over to the full game.)
■ Collaborating with Real Stores in Nipponbashi… and Other Indies!
Since Maid Cafe on Electric Street is a leisurely maid cafe adventure set in Nipponbashi, Osaka, we have collaborated with several stores that you can find both in-game and in real-life Nipponbashi! Of course, you can shop and eat at these places just like you can at the real ones. What’s more, we have also collaborated with several indie games. You can collect merchandise of different indie games by buying them from capsule toy machines and stores! More collaboration details will be announced on the developer’s official Twitter account as well as in the Steam community news, so keep an eye out for that!

■ About the Game
Daily Life with the Four Maids of Fuwa Fuwa Cafe
As the manager of Fuwa Fuwa, you’ll live in Nipponbashi, Osaka and spend time with your favorite maid… or maids. Go shopping, watch a movie, go for karaoke, buy a present for a special someone… What you choose to do, and with who, will affect the ending of the story.
But life with the maids isn’t as cozy and relaxed as it may seem. Maybe you should do something about the ominous voices coming from the shrine next to the cafe, or you could get the whole town involved in a large-scale campaign to bring in even more business. All sorts of events await you and the maids!
Support Your Maid Cafe Employees as the Manager!
As the manager, your job is to, of course, manage the cafe and the maids. First, you’ll have to allocate work to your maids. Shiro loves serving customers, and Miyu’s a great chef… Make sure each girl is assigned the right job! While the cafe is open, you can help out by serving customers and cheering the maids on. And with your hard-earned money, you can go shopping, eat out, or buy merch for your otaku collection. Make Fuwa Fuwa the most popular cafe in town to enjoy Nipponbashi to the fullest!
Special Brews for Special Customers!
Sometimes, special customers will visit Fuwa Fuwa. Pay attention to their needs and serve them the perfect coffee! You can find coffee recipes hidden all around Electric Street. Explore the town, collect recipes, and serve the drinks of your customers’ dreams, and maybe one day they might offer you their service as well…?
The Stunning Sights of Nipponbashi
Visit stores you can find in the real Nipponbashi, such as Surugaya, Sofmap, Dragon Star, Super Potato, and Karaoke Rainbow, among the many others we’ve collaborated with. Go shopping by yourself or go on dates with the maids and enjoy life in otaku heaven. But don’t stay out too late; you still have a cafe to run!
Collectable Capsule Toys
If you’ve been to the real Nipponbashi, you’ll know that there are capsule vending machines all over the area. In this game, you can also try to collect your favorite capsule toy series and experience that unique gacha thrill of not knowing what you’re getting. Keep cranking those machines until you’ve collected them all! Other than capsule toys, there’s more merch for you to collect, like video games, books, and figures. You can also decorate your room and watch as your collections reach completion!

Okay this is pertaining to my next writing project which is a Supergals fanfic, but do y’all know about the Gyaru fashion subculture in Japan? It's a bit hard to explain
Some gyaru girls deeply tan themselves and some don't, and a lot of people see the tanning aspect as blackface but l'm kind of on the fence about it?
Like it's NOT face paint but they ARE trying to emulate the looks of black models (IIRC) But this is only SOME gyaru, not all. (The tan style in specific is a subculture of gyaru known as ganguro)
The fashion itself is supposed to go against a lot of beauty standards in Japan. In Japan, beauty is thought of as pale skin, black hair, and a traditional beauty. Gyaru borrows elements from western pop fashion and even though it can be seen as "Japanese preps," it's actually an equivalent of punk considering the culture
It's like how kawaii styles are, no-kidding, considered punk in Japan
Anyway if you understand what gyaru is now (the word is also romanized as "gal" or the plural "gals")
My fanfiction is going to be a femslash crossover between Supergals, Sasameki Koto, Ultra Maniac, and Maria-sama ga Miteru. They're all schoolgirl series, but Supergals is about gals, Sasameki Koto focuses on sapphic themes, Ultra Maniac has a witch girl, and Maria-Sama takes place in a Catholic school (and is also very sapphic)
My fanfiction is gonna be "Gals, Lesbians, Witches, and Catholic Schoolgirls'" Maybe I'II change Gals to "Punk Gals" for more impact
It’s planned on being about all these girls meeting somehow, and then getting into relationships. Specifically Yumi/Sachiko, Sumika/Ushio, Ayu/Nina, and maybe Ran/Miyu/Aya. There will also be male side characters featured.
Also, Gals and Maria-Sama are COMPLETE opposite in tone. The girls in Gals are super rebellious and punk and Maria-Sama girls will faint if you utter a bad word.
Imagine Ran Kotobuki cursing her ass off and all the MariMite girls turning red and flustered. Except for Sei. Lmao
