Wahoo Kiyo sketchdump
No, I couldn’t let him be happy for five minutes. Also I know my Shuichi is a little wonky, he wasn’t on the original design.

Um,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Do you have any headcanons for Korekiyo?
Tumblr media
^^ Ofc
Lets go! (TWs for mentions of Ab*se, Gr00ming)
He did go to a girl school in the past and identified as trans feminine for a time. (Note: He identified as such without his sister's influence, but later de transitioned to a non-binary man.)
While he is a fan of most "kinks", he cannot stand anything related to feces
As a serial killer, he killed many girls. But the only ones he won't kill, are physically disabled girls and girls that were still too young. The reason for the former being that he finds it gross to hurt the disabled and the latter being that they are way too young.
He actually knows quite a lot of instruments himself and plays them all decently.
His verbal tic was thanks to his sister's abuse, whenever she ass'ulted him, for not playing along.
The relationship between the two didn't start out incestuous, but only became so the way it did, as she got ill and was desperate for a lover.
He speaks at least 50 different languages fluently.
In his free time, he cross dresses.
The reason he wears a bathing suit, is to hide the scars from the incident at the village.
His "Sister Persona" is a tulpa that manifested itself, after the incident at the village.
He's quite the skilled chess player, but has a hard time playing tic tac toe.
The reason he wears a facial mask, is because he does not want to capture the same deadly illness his sister had.
Korekiyo's parents abandoned him at birth, along with his sister. It's unknown, why they did that.
He wears contact lenses actually, due to his poor eye sight.
He enjoys theatre plays and operas.
He enjoys spas a lot
There. I hope ya liked it hehehe....I tried my best ;)

Before I proceed. I'd like to make it known that I do NOT ship any of the characters shown below with each other.

thinking about mastermind!korekiyo as a sort of weird parallel to mukuro: someone who wanted to befriend others but was manipulated by their sister into being a pawn for despair
some personal kore conspiracy thoughts below cut for those interested:
i think a lot about korekiyo's relationship to his sister less in terms of reality and more so in the way his thinking has warped to rationalize around the trauma. an important note before moving forward: i headcanon korekiyo killed his sister.
i think a lot of his character is unreliable narrator through the lens of guilt as a motivation
his relationship with his sister was extremely isolating, and people think he's offputting so they avoid him even when he's being friendly
whether you take it the canon direction of her dying of an illness or you're like me and think korekiyo possibly killed her, i think he feels guilty that he gets to do everything she didn't. she got him into anthropology and he gets the ultimate title, he gets the travel while she's confined to a hospital bed, he gets to live and be healthy while she's sick and dies. and they are both alone.
but then korekiyo gets close to people. in the case of the killing game; angie and tenko. his victims. he bonds with kaede faster than shuichi, and he passes judgement on the girls by comparing them to his sister to see if they're fit "friends" for her.
for the sake of the mastermind au my reasoning for the murder essentially goes as follows:
sister is the only person he's close to, isolation is exasperated by the nature of their relationship and its "secrecy"
kills sister (at time attributed to jealousy and possessiveness as she began to get close to other people)
despite attempts to stay distant, natural human pack bond instinct and years of anthropological interest means becoming close to and beginning to feel attachment to other girls during the events of the killing game (angie, tenko)
kills the girls he's closest to in a warped desire to repent both for the death of his sister for trying to have friends outside of him and for feeling as if he's "betraying" her by having done the same thing

look. I know we all hate sister Shinguji for a good reason right? But you have to admit she was on to something with the “dear Korekiyo” like. I can’t say what it is or why I feel this way but I’m right. It might be Todd Haberkorn’s female Korekiyo impersonator voice. it might just be the phrase. but there is something going on there.

I am in the middle of making a sister n kiyo playlist because I have so many songs that I feel like apply to them, so much of them are red too and it's really fitting in a way. Anyway cannibalism and the consumption of flesh as a metaphor for obsession, like if you agree

🦴Korekiyo has already a morbid fascination with humans considering that he is an anthropologist but it takes an entirely new level of creepiness as he develops his obsession with you. Luckily his sister approves of the relationship though which encourages him to get to know you best of all. From that day on you become something of a magnum opus to him as he seeks to study you better and more thoroughly than anyone else before you. Convinced of his own theory of the Unlimited Beauty of people he is especially focused on figuring out what makes you you and what may even make you more special than other people. Kiyo wants you to stand out from the crowd, for him and his sister. To ensure that you do stand out he tends to go to very extreme measures though. Either by eliminating all those who share a talent that you possess or by pushing you to learn a new skill that will make you different from other people around you. It is not unlikely that he may even end up harming you in his pursuit to make you stand out by giving you a scar in a place that would make you special and unique. It is nothing to be scared or ashamed of though. It is merely another thing that makes you beautiful.

(TW: Korekiyo's backstory)
Korekiyo's sister is alive when he first starts at Hope's Peak Academy.
He mentions her often: When he is allowed to ramble for long enough about something he's been studying, he will often say, "Sister will be fascinated," or "Sister will be pleased."
He speaks of her especially frequently around Angie. With Angie, he speaks of his sister with the regularity of a married man preoccupied with fears of having an affair.
Because of this (as well as her own skills at getting people to open up), Angie knows more about Korekiyo's sister than any of their classmates. Enough to be concerned, though her own experiences with misguided devotion to manipulative people keep her from acting on it. She would rather remain a friend for Korekiyo than give him a reason to pull away from the people who care about him.
When Korekiyo's sister dies, he goes to Angie first.
He cries with his head in her lap, and she strokes his hair. She talks to him a little. He doesn't say anything. Eventually, she lets the silence grow, staring out the window at the evening sky.
“Angie,” Korekiyo finally says, in a small voice.
“Hm?” Her hand stills, but then he squirms slightly, so she resumes stroking his hair. “Yes, Kiyo?”
“When you die, do you think you’ll go to the same place as Sister?”
Angie hums quietly. Truthfully, as much as she knows that she is not above sin, she can’t imagine what trajectory her life would have to take to land her in the same afterlife as Korekiyo’s sister. She says a silent prayer for forgiveness, and a prayer for the sister’s wellbeing. God will take care of her, wherever she is. “I don’t think so.”
Korekiyo sighs. It's hard to tell whether it's disappointment or relief. “Will I?”
She keeps stroking his hair. “I don’t know where you’ll go when you die. But I know that you’ve always made your sister proud, and I’m sure she’ll be proud to know you’re studying things you’re passionate about.”
“Who do you think will share the same afterlife with her?”
Can she think of such a troubled soul?
Maybe she answers, "Angie will have to ask God about that." And, "Are you worried she'll be lonely?"
And Korekiyo shivers. Nods.
"You don't have to worry. There are lots of people for her to meet. And if she's anything like Kiyo, she'll make lots of friends."
Or maybe Angie thinks of a person, names a name, only realizing later what Korekiyo was really asking.

postgame korekiyo
keep in mind I HAVE NOT PLAYED THE GAME, nor watched a playthrough (because where's the fun in that,) so my information is somewhat limited
tw for mentions of serial killing and korekiyo's sister
imagine waking up and having to learn to live alone when the person you loved most was never real in the first place
imagine waking up and having to reconcile with yourself that you were a serial killer, except that wasn't even real
your morality being discussed by everyone online like you're some kind of lab rat, something terrible to be speculated over from afar
his relationship with everyone he ever had a chance at being friends with, shattered, because of motivations that weren't his own
having to cope with the memories of his sister and being too scared to talk to anyone because. they already know everything, because it was all on camera. it was all public. but it wasn't real. so why does it still hurt?
still scared to take off the mask, lest she come back

// TW for discussions of transphobia and a brief mention of incest/grooming
So. This is about Tenko. And I wanna preface this by saying that I do like her.
I do not understand how some people will look at Tenko, look at the way she acts and her views towards gender, and still think she's oh so supportive of trans people.
Tenko reeks of transphobia.
Now, before I go any further, I wanna clarify that I think Tenko is transphobic out of ignorance rather than genuine hatred/malice. I think she can learn and grow, and that's why I personally find such a problem with the way some people characterize her when the topic is trans people.
Tenko is incredibly misandrist, and views gender as this black-and-white situation that defines one's characteristics, believing all men are inherently predatory. Also, at one point, I believe in either her FTE's or Love Across The Universe events, she takes a liking to Shuichi, but says she'll only accept him if he gets a sex change surgery. You may think this is her being supportive of transgender people, but it's literally just an admission that she equates sex and gender together. She's literally implying "I'll only genuinely be your friend if you're a woman, and for that you must have a vagina". That makes her a truscum at best and transphobe at worst.
I think the reason so many people just brush past this stuff is because they're afraid of liking a problematic character, because they think that measn they'll endorse the characters actions and beliefs.
Now, I understand. I understand VERY well. I am a Korekiyo fan. Y'know, serial killer who had a relationship with his sister. But, at the end of the day, I can still like him, not endorse murder and incest, and look at his character and go "He was in a relationship with his sister, but maybe he was groomed instead of doing it out of his own volition".
And I kinda wish people would do that with Tenko more. "She is transphobic, but maybe out of ignorance rather than hate. Maybe she just needs to learn and grow".
Tenko, as abrasive and hot headed as she may be, is a kind person. Even if she hates men, she still shows them compassion on a few occasions. But suggesting she'd just be unconditionally supportive of trans people without first reconsidering and changing her views on sex and gender just makes her feel... flat. Static. Like a cardboard cutout.
When she realizes she has her own flaws, and grows and learns from them, that's development. It makes her feel alive, moving, it makes her interesting, and it makes her kindness and support genuine rather than just an anti-problematic-blorbo sticker haphazardly glued on a 2D cutout of hers.
TL; DR: Tenko is transphobic, and I think that flaw should be addressed as a way to develop her character rather than swept under the rug.

korkin it up in korktown
(tw: all things to do with Kork. you know the drill)
Sexuality Headcanon: this is...difficult. because of the Horrors. but in a world where he exists without his Sister in the background, i think he'd be pansexual. while his Love Hotel is...augh, it does give us some insight about him, and it seems like he's fully in control of his mind there. he at least likes guys sexually imo. further, other non-horrific interactions with Shuichi feel quite flirtatious...so he's a boy-liker for sure. at the same time, he did, uh, have a thing with his own Sister. so women are not off the table either, it seems? just hopefully...you know...ones he's not related to. all in all, i don't think Gender in a partner matters to him. humans is humans
Gender Headcanon: again, hard to know because of the Horrors. but again, without Sister Korkette's influence, i still think he'd be the slightly genderqueer goth king we all stan. you'd never really know his gender identity, but he could tell you everything about Alternate Genders around the world
A ship I have with said character: i kind-of think Shuichi x Korekiyo is cute. they both seem quite taken in by each other in the FTs
A BROTP I have with said character: if you haven't played UTDP or Summer Camp you are missing out on the absolutely adorable subtlety of the friendship he has with Syojack. it is Hilarious. she doesn't think he's cute and he doesn't think she'd be a good friend for his sister and they have a Disgusting Mutual Respect. he calls her "little lady" once. bless
A NOTP I have with said character: i don't think this needs to be said. i think we all know the NOTP
A random headcanon: even in a world without Sister Korkette he'd have a genuinely maternal/paternal side. i get the Vibe that he's quite nonjudgemental and sincerely loves humans. just...the Horrors. as has been previously stated
General Opinion over said character: 🧵/10 korkmanity is beautiful
