I'm sure this exists somewhere already, but I wanted to make a list for my own self-reference because I was analyzing the patterns across games, so I figured why not post it? Unfortunately, this ended up egregiously long, and I decided to stop and post it before it got even longer. I'm sure I missed plenty of things, but I didn't want it getting any longer. I already spent a lot of time refreshing my memory and poring over the Danganronpa Fandom Wiki to make this list, ahaha...

right so.. TW for something sexual being mentioned.. plus what happened with Korekiyo.

okay, okay, buckle down for this one. I wanna point out, this might not be an unpopular opinion, buttt given the fact that everyone I’ve told started threatening me- I’m seeing it as one.

You can’t defend a characters actions when they’ve done bad. simple.

Now, seems easy to understand doesnt it? Some people don’t get that for some reason and it’s just like.. huh??

Eg- Mikan. The things Mikan did (like that one scene with ryota). People just say “Oh, but she was brainwashed!!”. but that’s like saying “The remnants didn’t meannnn to cause despair and whatever, they were brainwashed!!!”. You see how dumb that sounds? Brainwashed or not, it still happened. She still did that, no debate.

Like, I don’t defend any of my favourite characters for the way they act, not at all. With Kazuichi- I find his obsession with Sonia to be gross and an unnecessary part to his character. I feel like he’s only got a crush on Sonia (while being creepy about it) to be the joke funny character since the first joke funny character (teruteru) was killed off. But yeah, gross unnecessary part of kazuichi. Plus, him being a remnant and building the first casts executions. All of that. And Gonta- Insect meet and greet, albeit he thought he was helping his friends (both human and insect) but the way he went about it.. eh. Even if Kokichi lied to him and it was his idea, Gonta still did it anyways. Plus, the whole thing with CH.4.

But do I go around saying “Oh, Kazuichi has trauma from something so that’s why he acts like that with Sonia… 😖” or- “Gonta didn’t know any better, he’s not to blame- OUMA IS!!!!”? no. I don’t. Because they can’t be defended when they’ve done something bad. Like, if like I don’t know, your dog misbehaves. Do you say “well.. it doesn’t know any better.” No, you don’t. Shouldn’t be the same with these folks, even if they’re fictional.

What just tops this all off, people find the fact that I much prefer Ryota over Mikan to be the reason that I want to point fingers and be like “SHE STILL DID DONE DO IT!!” when in reality, if i don’t know, Ryota did (what she did) to her, I wouldn’t defend him on that. And would most likely heavily dislike him. And I guess the fandom would too. Because it only matters when it’s not a popular character doing it. Mikan, Miu, Hiyoko, Nagito, Junko, and more. Whenever they do something HORRIBLE the fandom brushes it off as “them being cunty” or the iconic “it wasn’t their fault! It was ___”, and then be the type of people to dislike ryota not because hes annoying- but because he made the brainwashing video. The video that their “queen Junko” ‘asked’ him to make.

Which brings me to another opinion- well, more of something that annoys me- but you can’t love Miu for doing what she does.. but then hate Korekiyo. Now i know, I know, you can hate/like a character based on their personalities, valid. But when a person says “OH MIU I LOVE YOU!” but then says “Korekiyo is disgusting!! Ew!” for what happened with his sister.. you’re being stupid, to put it simply. Miu purposely shoves her chest up against Keebo (who despite being a robot, should still count imo), makes horrible disgusting sexual remarks and all of that- aka purposely just.. being gross- Korekiyo didn’t know any better, he was manipulated and groomed by somebody he looked up to practically his entire life. But it’s still “disgusting” because it’s not the cool character who insults people from 2020 that had monster cans as earrings that everyone would cosplay. Like….? I understand Korekiyo is a bit deranged. And the relationship with his sister being sexual really just felt unnecessary. In fact .. his whole deal with his sister. But, just like every other character, I don’t defend him for anything bad that he’s done. But.. Miu. Miu was simply hit by a car and was in a coma for some time and was just.. smart when she woke up. That’s it, really. And then became the most infuriating character to walk this PLANET.

Now, please don’t get mad. This is an opinion of mine. Opinion. Not everyone has the same ones. If you’re upset that I insulted your favourite character or spoke what I think is right or wrong then just.. shoo. Toodles. Farewell. goodbye. Opinions are opinions, If you dont agree with mine don’t start throwing a tantrum and sending death threats. Peace and love🫶.

Also im not sure if I have strong opinions on this shit because I’m just severely sex repulsed and I just don’t like sexual things but.. you know.

SUMMARY-

Just dont defend a character when they’ve done something wrong.. just don’t. No matter the reason. It’ll make the fandom (and even other fandoms) so much more tolerable to be in.. and don’t throw a fit when somebody has a different opinion than you.

Anyways, this is LONG. Like this is more of a rant atp. But.. yeah. That’s my opinion(s) on the whole… everything.

Ok so I saw ur posts about danganronpa s and even though you won't play it I HIGHLY reccomed you watch nagito and korekiyo's interaction I'm pretty sure you'll find something of interest, let's just say a certain person makes a very brief appearance

What a lovely recommendation! It made me smile that someone would come recommend me an interaction between two of my skrunklies, but I had a pretty good idea who that certain person might be.

I'm surprised I'd never heard about this before. This is probably on me, since I had Danganronpa S tags filtered for a really long time, but I did tend to look at it anyway when I browsed the Korekiyo tag, so I'm still a little bit surprised.

(Like I said jokingly when I watched the video earlier today, "maybe the "korekiyo stan" "danganronpa s hater" venn diagram is more of a circle than I thought".)

I'd have loved a video with the Japanese dub, but this is what I was shown!

I mentioned in the past that I thought Sister might never make an appearance in Danganronpa S, because there are no sprites in Korekiyo's swimsuit set that seem to represent her. I guess I neglected to take into account the amount of events with his regular clothes, and the possibility that she might make... the smallest of appearances, with no change in sprites. (Show us more Shinguuji boobie, cowards!!)

If I may just comment on this event, which may be the only DRS event I've watched in full, Komaeda's dialogue seems really unnatural and forced. The things he says seem interesting enough to explore with his character, but the event is rushed and the way he speaks doesn't feel quite right. This doesn't give me a much better impression of the game, being that comparatively, fanfiction is free and some writers do a surprisingly good job at portraying canon characters, which doesn't appear to be a given here. That being said; "did Korekiyo seem different rn? ... ... ...No I'm probably just feverish and wrong. :)" is so ME and it's ICONIC and it's my EVERYTHING and

meeeeeeee.

@purplepadlock mentioned that this ending also looked like a reference to the Despair Disease which is famously another one of my skrunklies. I'm not so sure about that, because this event is about Komaeda having a cold in the first place, but being that the writing already seems a bit off and awkward to me... it could be that this was the intention here, or that the Japanese text does it a little better.* Either way, 1. still an iconic line, and 2. seeing Komaeda mention being sick in this room at the very start also reminded me of the Despair Disease right away.

Enough with my having caught the SDR2 Disease of making everything about Komaeda - this appearance of Sister is an interesting concept, though I'm disappointed by the idea that... this is all we get. It brings up a lot of questions; one thing that was never made too clear was how Sister worked as a tulpa. That she'd appear here, after Korekiyo tried to leave the hospital because of the bad memories it brought back, seems reminiscent of the way an alter in a system with Dissociative Identity Disorder may be triggered and brought to the front by a specific setting. I am, however, of the opinion that Shinguuji is definitely not meant to be a DID system, seeing as DID was already featured in a previous game, in which it was mentioned by name, and it would seem very weird for it not to be at all mentioned this time around.* Plus, his narrative is nowhere close to one of DID, and as bad as Fukawa's representation was, the childhood trauma as described by Touko to be the cause of Shou's existence seems too accurate to be thrown out the window for a new writing of the disorder years later. Thus, the question is: is she always here with him? Does she share his body at all times? How frequent are the instances of Sister talking in his stead? This was already very confusing in V3, and this event does not help.

Regardless, more instances of Korekiyo's odd "suddenly appearing more feminine" are interesting to me - because if we saw it often enough, we might be able to get an idea of its parameters. If this is its only instance in DRS, it's still not enough, even ignoring that I'd rather this had been done better in V3 in the first place.

*I recall seeing a Japanese tumblr user call out an event featuring Hinata and Komaeda for coming across completely differently in Japanese and English. The English translation made Komaeda seem creepier and forceful, whereas the original text had Hinata be the one to contribute certain elements of the event.

*As a note, I have a vague memory of seeing that Shou and Shinguuji had interactions as fellow serial killers, but 1. I might be making this up, and 2. I wonder if a comparison was ever drawn between their respective multiplicity. I remember talking about this... I don't remember any of the details.

But, yeah!! You asked the right question in the context of my profile! Don’t worry, avocado-boi never leaves my head, he’s doing great – and I’m actually happy to share my headcanons about the pairings with his participation ~ And since I have a choice, I think I’ll start with Amasai o/ Of course, it doesn’t mean that I have nothing to say about Amaguji – I just don’t really want to overload the answer, and plan on talking about them in future posts anyway! (also, in fact, I rarely see text posts with both Amaguji and Amasai – which means it needs to be fixed ✊) Let's get started:

Despite his dislike for cars, Rantaro will soon agree to travel at least in a van with Shuichi! Firstly, because Shuichi is newcomer of traveling the world and Amami doesn't want to constantly subject him to exhausting hikes… And secondly, Rantaro can’t help admitting how hot his boyfriend looks when he’s driving 😳 For the first time, he will most likely just lie somewhere in the back, trying to get used to the sensations (watching Saihara with half-covered eyes)~ But then, he'll be able to sit next to Shuichi and discover a new world!

If we take a Universe separate from Amashinsai, I represent the possibility of Amasai becoming a couple, in many ways, thanks to the initiative of Shuichi to find the sister/sisters of Rantaro. Rantaro's heart, in principle, skipped a bit every time Saihara shows attention to his family. On the one hand, it's a painful subject for him, on the other – the main priority. And it was Shuichi who became the first person in his life who didn't condemn him for such stubbornness and didn't call pathetic. So, I am definitely headcanon that Shuichi will able to help him and thus win his heart forever! 💘

Their relationship, in my opinion, has some spice ~ Not in the sense that they often have conflicts or, even more, so that they hate each other 😯 (at one time, for me this view was a discovery and I still can’t figure out what makes some fans think like that ??) I mean… For example, Shuichi often grumbles that Rantaro, as an Adventurer, has to get involved in dangerous or even not quite legal cases. It sounds like: "that frickin' adventurer… should I give him a flick on his forehead..? or maybe, just give myself…" :D But seriosly, Shuichi is just worried that in one day he will have to arrest his beloved 😞 But in fact, after his sis turned up, Rantaro stopped getting involved in so many shady adventures. Here’s a little scenario to make the example clearer:

Rantaro: Don't be mad, sweetie! I'll change..! 😅 Shuichi: *sighs* You’re still looking for troubles… Rantaro: You know that I don’t get into places where I could get killed. In fact, knowing that you’re waiting for me, it's become even more difficult to carry out my duties… Shuichi: *snorts and turns away* It's not a "duties"… You just like to danger your ass… Rantaro: *smiled and, moving Saihara's bangs aside, kissed on his forehead* I really appreciate your care..~ Shuichi: 😒😳

Continuing the topic I started above, it's clear that many of Shuichi’s grumblings are due to 1) his lack of self-confidence; 2) the fact that Rantaro is still a rather private/secretive person. So, Shuichi very often can't fully believe that such a bisexual icon like Amami, of all the classmates (and especially girls), decided to choose him. Sometimes he inadvertently tries to figure out which girls Rantaro liked and why. Usually, Rantaro answers very briefly and dry, as if he doesn’t want to talk about it at all. But this doesn't mean that Shuichi suspects him of adultery or wants to push him to do it, N O 🙅 In fact, he knows perfectly well that there is no one more reliable than Rantaro in this context. He just really needs A LOT of support. Moreover, Rantaro can be very difficult to express his love with words – he's a man of action. Amasai have certain problems and one negative trait in common – to take over everything alone… But I think it makes them more realistic ~ And, you know, there are no moments more precious than when they both reveal their anxieties to each other and try to calm them together 😌💞

And, okay, I'm rambling a little, hehe ^^" One more soft hc! Rantaro is sometimes so melts to Shuichi that he's start smooch him almost from head to toe 😚😚 Sometimes he does it with SO MUCH pressure that Shuichi starts trying to push him away, very blushing /// But it’s more for decency and to don't let Rantaro get "carried away" ~ In the end, Rantaro will make sure that Shuichi drowns in love and has no more doubts!!

I also have, in fact, many ideas about the Amami's family and how Shuichi will be accepted there..~ But let’s leave it for a separate post о/
